Overall, this is a very nice facility. My unit is in the new building which is super clean and modern, so that was really nice. But the online check-in process was a mess. I checked in online the night before and got my unit number and access code, but upon arriving to the facility, found it very unclear as to how I actually access my unit. There were 3 call boxes on the wall with no indication as to which one I needed to use. When I tried the call box that seemed to be the correct one, I got a message saying "access denied, not checked in" even though I already checked in online. Thankfully, the employee in the office was a HUGE help as she walked over with me and showed me that I first need to "check in" again by entering my access code into a different box, then needed to dial my code in again at the main call box to actually open the door. There were zero signs or placards that indicated this on the wall, so I would have never figured that out. She then walked me over to my unit only to find that it wasn't ready for move-in. The facility padlock was still on the door and the free disc lock that was supposed to come with the unit was not inside the unit. The funny thing is, I had already purchased a disc lock at the location I picked up my truck from from because they told me (incorrectly) that a free one does NOT come with my unit. The wonderful employee yet again took care of me and made sure I got a refund for the lock I had purchased earlier. So in other words, had I relied on the online check-in process and arrived at the unit after the office had already closed, I would have been TOTALLY screwed because I absolutely would not have been able to get into my unit. Again, the very friendly and helpful lady in the office saved the day for me, explained everything, and got me all squared away, so the overall 4 star rating is thanks to the great staff and the fact that the condition of the facility and unit is really nice. Everything would have otherwise been smooth but it appears there is serious lack of coordination and communication when checking in online (I had similar problems when I went to pick up my truck at another location despite already checking in online and opting for mobile pick-up). If the office/store weren't still open, this could have been a total disaster that would have left me stranded. Shout out to the wonderful staff member that took initiative to get me all squared away. She turned a frustrating experience into a positive one.

The drop off area is off to one side. The person waiting to pick up the driver could not drive up to where you drop off. Not knowing this, we did not clean out the cab of personal items. Making the person who drove the U-haul, having to hand carry (Haul) too many items way to far to where a pick up person has to wait. And realizing we forgot one item, then had to run back to the drop off area. And the attendants are really rude and screamed at us for accidentally driving a personal car into the drop off area. There is no signage indicating any of this.

Side mirror on truck was already broken when I picked up Truck given to me did not match document I signed and I had to go back inside to sign a new document Staff were not as attentive as I might have liked Staff misspelled my last name on my document (with some sort of other character besides the apostrophe that is supposed to be there), leaving me stranded in the parking lot trying to do an after hours return Staff misspelled my email and - when I called back to ask why I had not received an email, failed to verify that it was spelled correctly. Sarah from customer service after hours line was the only one who actually provided good service.

As a newly created "Corporate Account" holder and long time Uhaul client, I believe it would be a wise and prudent decision to "gift" me a free rental of any vehicle of my choosing.

Generally the personnel at this location were wonderful, but upon returning the vehicle one worker gave me an incredibly hard time and suggested that he was going to charge me for damage that I hadn't noticed to the vehicle. I told him that I had pictures and he said, well if it didn't show it well enough, they would have to charge me. Later, one of the other personnel told me not to worry about it and that the other worker was like this with everyone and that I wouldn't be charged. Frankly, scaring your customers isn't a good way to encourage repeat rentals. As someone who lives in the neighborhood, I appreciate the convenience and quality provided by u-haul in the past. I feel like this one worker should be encouraged to be more positive to customers.

Make your app and signage clearer. I returned a truck after hours and was never told to leave the keys in a drop box. None of the signage in the lot indicated if there was a drop box or where it was. It also astounds me that you supposedly don't have spare keys for your vehicles?? Definitely not recommending U-Haul to anyone.

Had a horrendous time trying to check in my rental online; I even downloaded the app and still had issues uploading pictures. I changed my preferences to share my location and still online and the app told me I did not have my location on (I did) then it would not let me upload/take photos because of storage on my phone (which was never mentioned as needed in the app or online...and if I have enough storage to download your app why would I not have enough storage for less than 5 photos???). While I appreciate the option to self check in with my phone, I didn't even end up doing it through the app. online finally ended up working after 40 minutes of retaking photos multiple times, cleaning out my own photo reel, downloading an app, sharing and re sharing my location preferences.

There is no room for improvement upon returning my vehicle the customer service agents was fantastic and not to mention the very attractive gentleman with the beautiful brown completion and strong cheek bones that completed my check in. He had the men and woman checking him out he is surely a good look for this location very professional and courteouse and not to mention easy on the eyes. Most guys are sweaty a d un attractive but not this one chiseled cheek bones great smile eyebrows and beautiful eyes along with giraff eye lashes. My goodness lady's

The Store manager DOESN'T know the UHaul policies and DENIED me the rental on the basis my French driver's license was an invalid driver's license. He would not listen to anything I would say nor check the policies when he was clearly in the wrong - I had rented a van before from that same location without trouble and that did not make him think twice. I also checked on the UHaul website and that did not make him think twice. I was only able to use the service thanks to the presence of a friend that then became the driver, but that was greatly inconvenient. The rest of the service was good but his Ignorance and arrogance nearly spoiled ALL of my moving.

Excessive water leakage at container 1326. The requirement to buy their lock for the container is unacceptable. Paid for the month of September and terminated the contract on 17 Sep without prorated credit. This is also unacceptable. Please rectify these issues.

I stored my belongings here for 8 months. The only downside is that I was not aware that there are units stacked on top of one another. Be sure to clarify where your unit will be before deciding on a unit. Otherwise, the facility is clean and well maintained.

DC is a very confusing city and I am very glad I had a portable GPS in the truck. If dropping off a truck, look to the R of the building and follow the signs.

When I returned the vehicle I was told had traveled 15 miles. Since i had estimated 20 at the beginning I asked why the final charge hadn't changed. He said he could do anything and send me to the front desk to make the adjustment. My the time I had reached the front desk I was told that, in fact, I had gone exactly 20 miles even though this was an initial estimate. I'm unimpressed that the person checking me in told me 15 and that by the time I got to the front desk everyone's story had changed. Furthermore, its HIGHLY unlike that my initial rough estimate of miles traveled was spot on. Next time, if there is a next time, I will definitely underestimate the miles, take a picture of the odometer, and I WILL NOT TRUST THE EMPLOYEES AT U-HAUL. Very disappointing.

The team decided that the gauge indicated I had used 11 gallons of fuel in 35 miles of driving. I explained that the gauge is famously inaccurate but they robotically said look at your contract - like anyone reads all the small print. The truth is that U-Haul record your starting mileage and end mileage and this is a scam. I was charged 11 gallons @ 4,75 $ per gallon for 35 MILES. A scam. The fact that the young man who 'welcomed' me back was immediately aggressive suggest that this is a routine money making scheme at this location. I will avoid in the future and recommend others do the same.

Employee was very rude said we where at wrong location and we were not. When he realized we were correct then he said you need to fold all the blankets neatly before we accept them back. We did have them in a nice pile thought you would clean before using again anyway.

The front desk was confusing but the person who gave me the keys was helpful and friendly. The truck was in poor/semi decent condition. I called the front desk prior to my truck drop off time saying that I needed an extension, which they agreed to. When I went to return the truck, one worker gave me instructions to pull the truck forward while the other worker yelled at me to reverse the truck. That worker then gave me no instructions as to what to do with the keys and if I should to exit the car and proceeded to stare at me, saying “I'm waiting” without any explanation. I was baffled and I had to ask the right questions to figure out he wanted me to exit the car with the keys in the ignition. He told me my drop off time was late and I explained that I asked for an extension in advance and met that extension. He said that didn't matter, but he would not charge me an extra day. I left there confused and frustrated with the entire interaction.

This last experience left me disappointed. Although the odometer reading was verified upon receipt of the vehicle, at return it read that we had driven 71 miles. Impossible because of the nature of our use doesn't call for very much driving. As vendors in the same city where we rented the truck, we drove and parked at 3 locations very close to one another. When I suggested perhaps a mechanical issue with the truck, I was dismissed and charged the cost w/o further investigation. I even suggested that there be a comparison of mileage usage since we rent a vehicle nearly every weekend in.July & August 2021. I would appreciate some feedback.

I was told to use the mobile app and that it would make the pickup easier. It did not and the employees were rude. The app kept saying there was no connection and then when it would move forward, there were issues in the app completing the request for pick up. When I had issues, I approached an employee and he was very rude and unwilling to help until I begged him for his assistance. He then got frustrated with me that the app was not working well. It was almost 100 degrees outside and I had to stand outside in the heat for an hour to finally be asked to come inside to speak to a representative. We requested and paid for a furniture dolly but was then told there was no more furniture Dollys for use when we were finally given the keys to the truck. When we dropped off the vehicle, there was no place to park the vehicle and we had to struggle to find somewhere to park as the lot was blocked off. I would not use this location if you are looking for assistance with getting what you paid for.

The lot attendant verified that fuel line at start did not match my receipt; drew in the correct amount, signed it. However, since I returned truck after hours, received automatic charge for fuel even though i had refilled to correct volume. Please reconcile that charge.

The power outage on 8/15 caused me to incur a 200 $change from the moving company I hired to assist with my move. Previous storage facilities I have worked with who have promised certain access hours have a generator in case utility outages occur. I understand the utility caused this outage but the storage facility is ultimately responsible for customers being able to access their belongings during the days and times as promised in the customer agreements. I was extremely dissatisfied with how this outage was handled by UHaul storage.

The van was no where to be found. We wasted over a half hour of our rental time just trying to locate the vehicle. Each time we had to request a different van, it was harder and harder to find. We probably cycled through at least 15 codes before flagging a staff member and having the help us find one. Also we weren't given the dolly we requested.

I used mobile pickup - it was pretty straightforward. I paid for moving blankets but did not receive them. The only interaction I had with staff was drop-off and the individual that helped me was perfectly pleasant. I do think this shop needs to work out a lot of the kinks. This is the third time that they've forgotten to provide me/my partner moving supplies that we ordered and paid for while renting.

15 foot truck was extremely old with terrible headlights and immovable rear view mirrors. I drove the truck 11 miles and U Haul charged me 68 $for gas and a fueling fee. My gas needle began and ended at 1/8-1/16 of a tank. Very dissatisfied with this rental and will not rent from U Haul again.

My 15 foot truck was in terrible condition. Both rear view mirrors were extremely difficult to adjust. Headlights were barely effective. I received the truck with less than 1/8 of a tank of gas. Used it for a total of 11 miles and I find I am being charged 68 $for a fueling and gas charge. While the gas tank needle never moved. I won't be using U Haul again nor recommending them to anyone I know.

The movers we contracted through your website called Clean Cut Movers in the greater DC area did not show up for 40 minutes with no updates and we had to cancel them. This put us in a bad bind with moving into the apartment. I would not recommend hiring movers through your website again.

Did not lose any time in doing so and the staff were really helpful with that. But, I wasn't able to take the photos before departing as I didn't receive a text foe the new vehicle. Upper floor storage is hard to operate. It would be great to have an easier access to the storage, such as a small elevator. The storage room was not supper clean, has a strange odor.

Very good customer service. However, the wait time is really long. The other thing I'd recommend addressing is the loading area. I've never seen anything like it-two parking spots for access to hundreds of storage units? That truly blew my mind and made for a very long and chaotic move-in.

I was called numerous times to the point I felt harassed, even though I paid for my unit for the entire month. I moved my things out and had two weeks left to sweep the loose items out so I wouldn't be charged a cleaning fee. Even though they received their money, they wanted to close out my contract before time so they could rent it out to someone else, without refunding me any money for the days I already paid. Basically double charging for the same unit. I will NEVER use them again for a storage place. Too many other companies give better deals and better customer service. The customer service at that particular UHaul location was horrible.

Management and maintenance of the facility was fine, but overall this wasn't a convenient location to store things, nor was my unit optimal being on a second level. It's perfectly fine if you are not picky, but if you want to be able to easily access your things, you're better off going somewhere that has outdoor drive-up units.

The person who booked me the unit didn't give me a big enough space so I had to rent another unit. I had trouble with the lock and had to buy an extra lock. I didn't like that the unit was upstairs. I gave the experience a high rating only because Tiffany Harrison was so helpful at the place. If not for her I would have rated the experience poorly. Also, I was told I would get a month free, rented the truck and only need storage for 6 days. However I was charged over 110 $. That's on top of what I paid for the truck. Someone should look into my charges.

I was told I would have a lower level climate controlled unit and when I got there it was an upper level. Staff was not friendly and not helpful. The hours of access are ridiculous. I am SO VERY SORRY that I moved into UHaul. The movers were already there and I couldn't find another place. I am so unhappy with UHaul and my entire experience. I would NEVER recommend it to ANYONE.

The customer service at this location is deplorable. The staff is extremely rude, and the General Manager Osman is very disrespectful and short tempered with customers. I requested a lock cut, as I lost my key and I've had the unit for about six years. He told me that it will be a minute. When asked a time frame he said, "It will be a minute" and walked off. I came back approximately two hours later, and he was still unable to provide assistance. I can not wait to remove my items from this location and I will be writing a poor review on all social media outlets. No one should have to endure such treatment.

The general manager assisted me and was the most pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful person. He explained everything to me and found the right unit for our needs. He helped rectify a clerical error and ensured we used our first month free offer for the unit. So easy!

1. The requirement to use the U-haul sold crescent lock is a scam and money grab by Haul and its dealers. I have had storage units for a decade using my own combo lock and never had a security problem. The idea that the required lock provides better security is a lie. 2. The movable ladder necessary to access my second level space constantly wobbled making it unsafe to access my unit. There was not another ladder available use. this is unsafe and reported to the facility. 3. The storage unit door did not close properly and align so the lock could be easily installed. This was reported as well. It took two of us on a the above rickety ladder to push the door enough so it would align and lock the unit door. Such a basic. Get it right. 4. We were only shown (1) elevator. Lots of waiting. this is a converted 3-story warehouse and if another elevator exists we were not shown it. More focus on making money and less on customer service by investing in necessary vertical transportation. Really not sure I'm not going to move back to the Cube Smart a few blocks away. I made the move to U-Haul because I already rent trucks from here and thought it would be more convenient. Was not the experience I had at all.
