The representatives of the Jackson location were short staffed and obviously overwhelmed by the work load of the day causing it to reflect in their service. They were rude in their replies and unwilling to assist further details with Uhual 24/7 mobile rentals. Instead of saying “let me find someone who can help” or looking up my reservation in their system, the answers I received were “I don't know, I'm not sure, sounds like a phone problem.” In addition to the service, The rented a 26' moving truck which had an infestation of roaches that came from under the floors when the truck started to move. I called 1800 Uhual who extended my reservation time but upon returning the truck back to the location, the representatives didn't appear surprised by my findings, almost as if they knew the truck's condition. After exchanging trucks they refused to complete a walk-around inspection with me saying “we'll do it when you return.” A terrible answer to a customer who just experienced unexpected problems with the first rental. ( unfortunately this was the only location that had a 26' moving truck that day otherwise I would've never returned.) Uhual's impact in being the most memorable moving truck in the US is also a family owned business and it's disheartening to see it be managed by ungrateful and inconsiderate employees who don't have the ethics to work in customer service but also can't afford to quit. I am very familiar with the expectations and training Uhual offers to their employees so the service from the representatives was undoubtedly poor behavior.

The 10' box truck did not have cruise control. If your company knows that a truck is going 649 miles away shouldn't you make sure it has cruise?? Other than that everything was as expected.

Make sure the key starts the vehicle! It sucks for the customer borrowing it and having to sit in it for 30 minutes trying to get it to start every time because the key is stuck and it makes you late trying to return it on time!!

The location is just Awesome 😊 Ladies was working that day . Knew her Stuff.... I was IN/OUT. Moving can be so stressful, and dealing with My U-Haul store always makes it a piece of cake. Moving a few boxes, or across country. Go-U-haul

Uhaul specializes in understaffed facilities. Maybe pay a living wage and see how many want a job. Underpay and guarantee an overworked, unsupported staff. I've used uhaul many times over 45 years and will never use them again if they refuse to pay a living wage.

Too much pressure on the upsells. Navigating your website through the up selling was a waste of time and frustrating. Prices on one way truck are crazy. 1 500 to Virginia? Nope.

U haul was dirty when picked up. Dropped off with over 7/8 tank of gas as instructed and was still charged 6,00 $ for gas. Not having cruise control is very inconvenient for long trips.

Do not rent vehicles with no a/c. Improve your on line check in process. To many steps to load info and what YOU want the renter to do. If you use the same check-in process via a text with the same steps, YOU could probably get a better review or word of mouth recommendation but overall if you asked me about the rental process, I'd give you 1 star. Asking about the location is not what we are there for.

Honor contracted equipment. I had to accept a larger truck for a one way rental. I was told the size I reserved was NEVER used on one way rentals. Why do you offer the size if you have no intent to honor the contract?

I had reserved truck, 2 wheel dolly, 10 truck blankets and paid in advance for 2 mattress covers. When I picked up truck, the agent said I hadn't reserved the dolly or paid for mattress covers. I had to argue with him about it and he finally allowed me to have dolly but made me pay for covers again. As they were short handed and there was a long line of people waiting I didn't want to take time to search for my receipt so I paid for the covers again. We didn't use the truck blankets, they were still in the bag, but they wouldn't refund the costs of them. Poor service all the way around.

Unfriendly. Did not clearly explain charges. When vehicle returned I asked for an invoice and to review the charges. I was told it was emailed and the charges were my fault. This was the manager and he was incredibly rude.

I have 3 U-boxes to unload and told the gentlemen working on Monday September 6th that I would be there to unload the boxes into a storage unit I reserved on Sunday September 12th. Noone knew anything about it when we got there. We did get the boxes brought out so we could unload them but it was a hassle. Also I was supposed to get a call from the location about the payment on my uboxes on Tuesday or Wednesday but noone called me. So I just paid almost 400 $for the 3 boxes even tho I only had them for 2 days after the payment. I was very dissatisfied with the fact I had to pay 400 $for 2 days of having the boxes.

The truck we rented had a broken mirror with a sticker on it that said “claim”. It was hard to see. We actually had to cancel our move last minute (so I brought the truck back full of gas (I picked it up at 3/4 tank)… no credit was given.. nothing.. also waiting on hold for over 60 min to pick up truck!!!

This location did not have power when we went to pick up the trailer. The staff were less than helpful, but the manager stepped up and helped to get us checked out on their mobile device.

I had a horrible experience with the young kid that was at the counter. I had already experienced a severe setback to my moving plan due to an extremely botched reservation at a different location. When I was trying to express my frustration this kid thought it would be a good idea to LAUGH at me being upset and was unwilling to do anything to help me. The other gentleman that was working, Dan, was an absolute lifesaver! If it weren't for him my day would've been completely ruined. Moving is one of the most stressful things you can go through and in my opinion the kid that was working on the day of my move is not prepared professionally or emotionally to deal with customers in distress. He needs to be trained or fired, in my opinion.

Location itself was great but the fact that I had to go all the way to that location was annoying. 50+ of my miles were just getting to and from there. It has bee that way with my last 2 U-Haul rentals. Not sure if that is part of U-Hauls strategy but it seems that way.

Upon pick up representative had name tag on said Owner. He was not polite did not acknowledge our arrival kept typing on computer for at least 3 or 4 minutes then was very short and sarcastic when I asked questions. Then upon our returning van another representative was very upset that we returned it early. Not a good first time experience

My rental truck was ready for the boneyard. This “local” move truck is bad. Please don't rent it to anyone else. It drives poorly on the highway. Not safe!

There were 3 available 6 x 12 trailers: hooked up to first one and the right turn signal didn't work…second one was okay, but one of the door hooks that holds the door open was broken which caused me problems on the load & unload. Trailer was clean but there were signs of wear and tear…

Kimberly Bedard is extremely rude and disgruntled. According to the manager, John Collier, Kimberly apparently already has several complaints from other customers and has supposedly put in a notice to leave the job. The fact she still works there is more than enough reason to never use UHAUL of Jackson. Though employees are in short supply, the damage she is doing, and has done, to this business is irreparable. She should not be on the job at all, as she has serious issues dealing with customers. I hope her life gets better, or at least she never gets another customer service position. She is not qualified for customer service at any business!!! However, I will never use this UHAUL location ever again.

This specific location was helpful and nice. No complaints about the location. The web-based service and website needs work, however. It is not easy to find a truck. You have to look at individual locations rather than looking within a certain distance to find what is available. When I spoke to someone on the phone, she assured me they would contact me if a truck in the proper size became available within an hour's drive. I happened to drive by a location 30 minutes away with several of them so I called and found out there were 3 available! Had I relied on the company to do as they said, I would not have been able to move my daughter to school in time for the start of the semester. Very poor customer service!

Worse experience I have ever had. Person at above location did not know how to use computer to reservice a trailer, I ended up reserving it myself from home computer. What a joke, your reservation does not reservice a trailer on any date, location, or type of trailer. Rental form indicated a called from U-Haul the next day to verify date and pick up time, never received a call. I called 4 times and was told I would find out location and type of trailer was available 1 or 2 days prior to pick up date. Then I was told the closes trailer was 50 miles away or settle for a small open type trailer located at a different location 15 miles away from my original reserved location. This is BS, you reserve a trailer at a location means nothing. Never do business with this company !!!

I had made the reservation days in advance for the trailer. When I arrived, there was no trailer. The lady working on Sunday at 1:10 p.m. acted as though she wanted me to be hostile. I at one point went so far as to tell her that I was not getting defensive, so I would appreciate it if she wouldn't be defensive. I just asked her to help me find a trailer. When I even tried to offer options to help the situation, it was as though she assumed I was starting a fight, and I was not. If I had really wanted to engage in an argument, she would have been part of the reason because she kept cutting me off and assuming I was going to be nasty. I have worked in a lot of customer service type roles, and I don't believe in being nasty to people when situations are out of their control. But she really aggravated me. Ultimately, I had to drive 100 miles round trip, out of my way, to get the trailer I needed. The guys at Urbandale Hardware took very good care of me.

Improve on your customer service representatives. I called the 800 number and scheduled, or so I thought, a one way move only to find out the day before that there were no trucks available for a one way AND the pickup location was wrong! Ended up paying more for the truck because I had to do a local move and pay 0,79 a mile. This was not a local move.

The staff at this location are extremely rude and unprofessional. I had problems with my storage unit from the MOMENT I signed the lease, and wouldn't have signed at all if I wasn't stuck. The people working never answer the phone, and have such an awful attitude. And when I tried to call your corporate number for customer service, it was an equally awful experience and I was stuck dealing with it. Finally able to move my things out - NEVER giving your company another time of my money or second of my time, EVER.

Fantastic experience! Dedicated staff. Kind and helpful within the busiest season. Also, I wanted to share that Ryan is an incredible leader at the Ames Iowa Uhaul site located at Duff. Ryan works harder than most people who own businesses. He either owns the Uhaul and/or he's passionate about making the moving experience a good one. Honestly, when it comes to me moving, Uhaul has a very happy and determined staff - set on making moves easy, friendly and efficient. I appreciate the way Uhaul handles things and swear that this is one of America's unsung essential services that really needs a round of national applause, and if all goes as planned; I intend to share this message with leadership in the government. It seems to me that moving is one of the most stressful times in a persons life span. Uhaul has, so far, never let me down. Uhaul: I'm impressed you allow people to set a promissory note. In Ames, and in Jackson, there was no hate or degrading comments for the person who asked about that matter. Nationally, who does that?; unless you declare your a business (not many companies). I am a new business owner and this move is establishing a new business where demand exists for the services we offer. In a Pandemic, to have a moving company behave in that way makes the entire rental experience more meaningful and significant in humanitarian ways. Merci!

After moving my stuff in, about a month later we went to check on it and it was infested with roaches, in which we were told we had to treat ourselves. When moving out we had set a arrangement up to move our stuff out a few days after the rent was due but we explained we had to go out of state for a funeral and they were fine with it. When we went to move our stuff out they "had no recollection of the conversation " and forced us to pay a months worth of rent that we weren't going to use. The owner/manager John is NEVER there. Everyone was rude but one lady who works part time.
