The process from beginning to to ending was seamless. The mobile app is the best way to go. I starting the rental application on the mobile app and I was able to pick up the vehicle I requested without any in person contact. This was awesome. My vehicle was ready at the specific time as requested. No delays or hassle. Very good job! Thank you

Never knew what the price was constantly changing and staff never knew pricing. Poor customer experience I will never come back or recommend this facility. Poor billing practices no help during Pandemic horrible customer experience. The worst!!
Great experience overall. Only suggestion, include a section in the online/app vehicle drop-off process/questionnaire; that includes a “rented gear returned†verification. I left the 1 rented dolly in the trailer as instructed, however, I wasn't able to include proof via picture etc. Everything was vehicle related but nothing offered for rental equipment. That said, the original rental agreement receipt (provided at pick-up location), simply states to verify that all additional equipment was left behind with vehicle/trailer. If you opt not to, you can ask the drop-off location attendant to verify for you, for an additional $20. There's no other option, if the renter conducts the drop off after operating hours. It's possible I overlooked any details provided but it kind of feels like this is by design, to potentially make a quick and easy additional $20.
The location is the only issue - it's the busiest junction in NJ - you can be 100 yards away but still 20 minutes from the entrance! Apart from that, all good
Move the truck to the front if you know it's leaving that morning. Was in the back. Otherwise it was a great experience!
I left a set of bungee cords that I purchased from the UHaul Store and left them inside the truck after I dropped the keys in the drop box. I called early the next morning and a representative from the 1 800 number said they would leave message for them to take out the cords and place them to the side so I could pick them up later that day. When I got to the place, NOBODY knew what I was talking about and I was told to ask somebody in the yard to see if they were still in the truck. Not only was the truck not there, but my bungee cords were not found or replaced. Everything else about my rental was fine.
You can Recruit better (competent) staff. My uhaul experience was a fiasco between the Jersey City and North Bergen locations. Just horrible. I'm talking to your reps on the phone confirming and finalizing details regarding storage, truck and dollies that were needed for my move and day of, everything was wrong just wrong. The truck I supposedly reserved was NOT available, but prior to all of that I was receiving too many phones from your reps at both location confirming but yet screwing up my reservation in the end. Your process in which to enter and exit your North Bergen location is a daunting task. First experience with Uhaul and it was NOT GOOD to say the least. GET IT TOGETHER! Signed Dissatisfied Customer
I am being charged for $148 more on mileage fees than what I actually put on the truck. No one at this location is being helpful at all and I honestly feel like I am being robbed. I will tell anyone who will listen how dishonest this company is and never to use them.
My card was charged and over drafted when I already moved out the month prior and my swipe card was returned. I don't appreciate this horrible service, especially when I have been using your storage facility for years.

I was charged $3300 for a 26' ft truck going from NJ to Charlotte one way. Yet the next size down--20ft- was only $1700??? I paid double for only 6 more cubic feet!!! Prior to COVID, my daughter made the same one way move with a smaller truck and it was less than $1000. I paid it because I had no choice. Im outraged at the obvious gouging by your company taking advantage of the mass exodus from the NYC Metro area. You should be ashamed of yourselves. I will never use UHAUL again and will ensure all my family and friends know about this experience.
I have to wait for the truck to put into inventory for over 40 minutes. Also the gas tank was only half when we picked up!!!we drove less than 20 miles and added $5 of gas. And when I received my email!!!! I was charged for gas???? Full tank!!!! That's unacceptable , next time I will take my business to some other company.
I’ve had this storage space for over a year. I frequently went to store & retrieve items without any issues. When I went to empty it out this time there were mouse or rat droppings everywhere! The unit smelled like rodent urine and there were urine stains every where - on the unit floor, my furniture, clothes, on boxes etc. most of my bags were torn through and rodent feces were inside the bags & boxes. I had to throw out so many of my belongings because of this! There wasn’t any food stored in my unit either. I reported this to the office and they said they would inform the supervisor and I would receive a call that same afternoon. I’m still waiting!!!

AWFUL!!! Since Shamsideen left, location steadily gone downhill. Male "Manager" couldn't explain any of the insurance details and became defensive about it. He looks young so probably too young to be managing such a critical location.
I went in to put something in my storage and my card wouldn't work. I went into the office to let them know I was having issues and all 3 employees looked so bothered because I was asking for help.. All the questions they asked were with such an attitude and my only guess is because I was there around 5:40pm and they close at 6. To my surprise, the guy at the front desk tells me that they can't find my info and that my storage was emptied out.. I was so confused and scared that I had just been robbed somehow.. I asked them how that was possible when I was still receiving invoices and paying monthly and all they said was "I don't know. You must've cancelled" I told him that even if I cancelled, I would have came back for my stuff and he just looked so unbothered by my concern. I insisted they give me access to check my storage to see for myself. When I got there, my belongings were still there LUCKILY. And when I asked for an explanation they couldn't give me one. I had to sign up AGAIN.. give my information AGAIN.. and deal with their attitude for working a few minutes longer. It would be nice to deal with staff that actually care and look like they WANT to be there. I understand mistakes happen but the way the employees handled my situation was extremely unprofessional and made me want to take my business elsewhere.

I had requested 2 dollies which were not on the truck. there were 2 hand carts which I could not use. Not a problem.
I had asked this location to verify that my credit card was charged vs. the driver's credit card (they put him on the contract which confused U-Haul). They confirmed my credit card had been charged but in fact it hadn't. I'm still waiting to hear back. Overall this has been a very poor experience.

I wasn't able to pick up the truck near my old apt cuz the truck was unavailable. I had to uber to the nearest location, about 12 miles away from my old apt. Due to the pickup far away from my house, I had to pay for additional milages on top of my uber fair to the distant location. Hope the contract abiut total milage I could use automatically extended when this kind of thing happens.
Customer service needs a lot of help. There was the person who closed out my contact doing all the work. One girl was sick as a dog, but still working with customers. She should stay home from work. The friendliest person was the maintenance guy. Beside those two people I mentioned, it seemed like the others don't really care about their jobs.
First reservation was never confirmed and the location did not have the truck as indicated... Lost a full week of rent. Second truck was not a the location I chose, I had to drive an extra 30 miles just to get the truck, which cost me more money and time.
The personnel were rude. I completed the check in via the Uhaul app. After completing a 1000 mile Uhaul drive in 2 days, I was exhausted and didn't thoroughly clean. I designated this in the app and paid the cleaning fee. Then the staff harassed me about the pads not being folded. I told them I paid the cleaning fee. They told me it would be an additional $50. I said go ahead and charge my card because my Uber was arriving at the same time. The whole experience just added on extra stress to an already stressful 48 hrs. I'll definitely pay an alternative moving company next time around.
This storage facility was well kept and clean. The 10 x 10 unit assigned to me was more than sufficient to house my belongings. This location’s staff met my every expectation and for anyone I know moving or looking for storage I would definitely recommend Tonelle to them. Half of my stuff in storage was covered in rat droppings. It was a nightmare to go through my things and find droppings all over them. I had to get rid of a lot of my stuff due to that and cleaned every other items that didn’t have droppings on it. If you do decide to store things, use heavy duty boxes that lock and leave nothing out of boxes
Convenient Sunday pick-up. Also the ability to drop off at a different location is a plus. Appreciate the restroom access. The parking area is a little confusing.

Good morning When I went to pick up the truck I was told I needed to bring it back by 5pm but when I made my reservation In September 7th I told the representative that I needed the truck for 24 hours and she said fine So when I thought everything was set up how I wanted it but then I was told no I had to bring it back by 5pm I then let the supervisor know that I can not bring it back by 5pm so she hit my card with a late fee I am so upset about this matter its not fair to me
I had booked the uhal 25 days before online at the location near me. On the day they did have a truck for me as you always over book. The customer service was very rude and did not help. Had to call 3 times to find the person who could help. Thwy put mw on hold for 20 mins. I was send to a different location what was far away from the one that I had choosen. Had to book a uber to get there. The complete experience was bad. Only got the tuck for 4 hours originally i had booked for 6 hours. Will never take uhal again in life. Going to leave reviews every where and make sure no one in my family and friend circle ever take uhaul. Horrible experience. Posting this experience every so anyone who is taking ihal know how horrible jobs you guys do. Awful experience.
Customer service was atrocious. Representatives were rude and clearly having rough days. With that said, it gives no authority for employees of U-Haul to treat customers with disrespect and attitudes.
My experience was awful. First, I was online for an hour (with only 2 people in front of me) Second, they didn't have the bigger truck I reserved. Third, they did not have the equipment I reserved. The gave me a small truck and again no equipment which would have made the job smoother for the movers. This resulted in my move taking way longer because we had to do 2 trips VS 1. And cost me 3 hours extra for my hourly movers. So there I was with a smaller truck, longer moving time and an extra 600$ out of pocket due to a smaller truck, slow service and no equipment. Huge disappointment.
This superstars can't even keep track of their own inventory. They'll charge you for something , but the CAN'T guarantee that extra feature you paid for will be available when picking up your rental. Not to mention that I had to wait 2hrs because they left 7 trucks blocking the exit. Again, poor customer service and lack of ownership.

Not directly related to this location. However uhaul business model of cancelling a reservation at 4PM the night before pickup is very poor customer service. I scheduled the rental through uhaul customer service and was not informed there was a chance the truck I selected may not be available. As a result we needed to make a second extra trip with a 10 foot truck because our 17 foot truck was cancelled last minute. Will most likely not use uhaul again for this reason.

Thank you Uhual. I had rented storage since 2006 until 2020 and must say never had an issue with it, The staff was polite and helpful when need. It was bitter sweet to let go but it was time. I will say if i ever need storage again it will be Uhaul always.

I specifically discussed option on unit location when booking my unit. Upon arrival, I found out they gave me a second floor unit with no elevator or ramp but 10 stairs. Bring a single female moving alone this made my move immensely more diffIcult. If I wasn't promised something on a first floor I would have never rented here. I have moved a lot and this was by far the most difficult. The only good thing about it was Gwendolyn. She went above and beyond to do what she could to improve the situation. She quickly offered to check for other units available (there were none), helped me carry a dolly upstairs so I'd have one on each floor, and helped me bring in my first load. Gwendolyn was very compassionate and helpful, certainly a shining star of UHaul. If possible please find a way to recognize her for her outstanding customer service.

The customer experience was abysmal. From the moment I entered, the staff treated me like I was a bother. The owner Alisha was a NIGHTMARE, she had a huge attitude whenever I asked her questions, looking at me like I was an idiot for not knowing things that she considered basic. This was my first time renting a storage unit anywhere and I had no clue what to expect. More importantly, I don't work at UHAUL so I expect the staff to be polite and helpful. The person handling my order was new I guess and Alisha was training him, but was video-calling someone the entire time. When I asked that new person questions, he either ignored me or answered while walking away. He handed me a card to swipe at the front desk and did not tell me to hold onto it to access my unit, then he got an attitude with me when I didn't hold onto it. When I asked where to pull up the truck Alisha told me to drive to the end of the lot with an attitude; it turned out I needed to make a right and pull into the garage - again, I DO NOT work for UHAUL and need as much information to accomplish what I am there to do. When we get to the garage, the new staff member just watched us pull up, instead of instructing us to back into the garage - again, directions and guidance are so important. The lack of customer concern was appalling. When we got to our storage unit, it was locked so we were reassigned a new unit. When we asked for an updated contract, Alisha was yelling at us - it was an awful experience. She kept saying, "we're closed" and my husband had to insist before she finally gave us an updated contract. Mind you, had the staff been helpful and politely offered clear directions from the start, we could have gotten done much sooner. Overall all the employees treated us like everything was obvious. Some questions they didn't even have the answer to, but somehow we are supposed to know. The staff acts so recklessly with customers because they know customers trust the UHAUL brand and just need their items faithfully was stored. Alisha especially was so disappointing - her badge says "owner" but she doesn't even behave like a supervisor. The worst part is, the model she sets is what the rest of the staff emulates and it's obvious no one in this location cares about customers. But I have never felt so humiliated by an entire staff of people ever - it felt like a joke they were all in on, it was so embarrassing. UHAUL should seriously consider having someone like Alisha represent their brand as a franchisee or whatever she is.

My only problem with the facility was the mice that apparently came into my storage unit, judging by the leftover mice feces. I suppose I can't expect the staff to be fully able to take care of this problem, since mice would be hiding in other customers' units, but it was annoying. Maybe put some kind of caulk or other barrier at seams on the floor between units, to prevent the mice moving in and out that way?

U-Haul damages all my property been a month since my case was closed I’m still waiting for my claimants check they takes 5-7 days .Rodents ate and pooped into all my belongings

Charged me a late fee even though I checked my account and it showed a zero balance? I called and emailed to get it reversed and was never responded to. Also, I moved out early but still charged full.
Given the price, the service provided is good.

Getting moved in was a breeze. Very friendly service and tour, and the facilities are clean and easy to access. Moving out was also painless, and I can't speak highly enough of the friendly service.
