1st experience with Uhaul. I was told the night before there were no 15ft trucks and I only had the option of a 10ft truck. Not ideal but I understand stock issues. There wasn't an apology from the agent that alerted me or even a vague understanding that this may have affected my plans and moving is often quite complex anyway. When I arrive, the attendant at the desk wasn't very helpful and did not communicate clearly which meant the process of picking up the truck was more complicated than it should have been. Once I moved to the automated parts of the process, it was straight forward.Benjamin F.

We were charged for an extra day's rental that we didn't use. We rented a truck for one way. We returned the car the same day (finishing early) despite having until 9AM to return it. The next day, I received a call asking where the truck was that we rented and inquiring whether everything was alright. I informed the person we had returned it the previous day, and he said â€œoh, okayâ€ before hanging up. Within the hour, we received a receipt for the extra day we took with the truck despite the fact that it 1) was returned; 2) we told them such when they called; and 3) they led us to believe everything was fine when the person said okay and then hung up. This location clearly doesn't have it together given that they both had the truck and were given the keys; and they're also obviously predatory for charging us for a service we neither asked for, needed, nor utilized. Stay far away and choose another dealerâ€" and don't return your truck here if you go one way. I'll be using a different company next time we move.Ryan B.

The first truck ran good no problems I rented a second and I don't think it will run for the days I have it bad gas or has bad injectors will probably be left on the side of the road if it breaks downCORY T.
I had a truck malfunction in the truck broke down on me and left me stranded on the highway. All of the oil from the truck leaked into my brand new driveway and calls property damage. I am highly upset.TROY L.

The only issue I had was that it was given away and I had to go to another location further away to get another one. Uhaul should have hadone of their personnel drop it off at the original pick up location. It was very inconvenient for me.Paul A.

I feel the staff at this location were helpful and friendly. They helped me with the check out process and gave advice on the late check in process (I arrived 10 minutes after closing). My experience overall was average (not great) because of difficulties outside of the control of this location's staff. The website to perform the late check in did not work for me. I was unable to upload pictures using either Chrome or Firefox browsers. Perhaps the website could allow for more versatility and different ways to upload/send photos of the dashboard. The physical location of this Uhaul is terrible. Again, not the staff's fault. But that traffic circle is the worst traffic in all North Jersey, so maneuvering an unfamiliar large vehicle around it is unpleasant. I will in the future seek out a different location to rent from.Christian R.

Forgot my wallet in the truck, but staff at the counter were unhelpful and slow to do anything. They called the guy who cleaned the truck to see if he "put it in a special location" but they were no help. The person at the counter started off the call with the guy who cleaned the truck with a personal conversation then all of a sudden goes "oh so you didn't find a wallet in one of the trucks yesterday?". Then she immediately hung up and told me "the wallet wasn't in the truck". I got gas on the way to take the truck back and didn't have the wallet as I arrived back at my apartment, so I'm nearly certain it was left in the truck. I was traveling with a large amount of cash in my wallet due to the move, so I'm not surprised that it would mysteriously "go missing".Jackson B.

Amazing customer service. The check in lady at the front desk was kind courteous, precise and made sure everything was explained in a very professional and easy manner. I wished I finished moving before this location closed doe the night so I could've made it back in time to see her again. The 24/7 key drop off was a bit time consuming but that made me appreciate my check in process much better. Thanks guys.PATRICK G.

This place needs more workers desperately, they had 2 workers one outside only and the other back and forth between outside and inside, line to the door and it took almost 2 hours to get my truck and be gone from the time I arrived. Not blaming the workers they were trying to do so much at once but they shouldn't have had to, there should have been extra help there with them. I have no comments about the facility itself, but I would like to compliment GM Alex Green and the two young men who were working at the rental desk yesterday, when I came to pick up my rental truck. YOU NEED TO HAVE THIS LOCATION MORE FULLY STAFFED, BASED ON CUSTOMER DEMAND, so your workers aren't overwhelmed with renters, as was the case yesterday. AND, YOUR SYSTEM WAS DOWN, which made a stressful situation even more stressful, for both the renters and the workers. Nevertheless, Mr. Green and the two reps at the desk were as helpful as they could possibly be to me. I appreciated their efforts on my behalf, and compliment them on their kindness and helpfulness.Jane O.
This is by far the BEST U-Haul location I have ever been to. Every single person was incredibly helpful, going way out of their way to assist me. The manager Alex Green was incredible. When I first called several weeks ago about moving my storage space, I specifically asked that it be located on ground level with no stairs. I was assured that it would be. That didn't happen. I found a ton of rat/mice droppings all over my stored furniture. This was very disappointing and disgusting. I would not recommend this U-Haul location to anyone as a result. Some of my furniture was damaged as a result.MELISSA T. | Expérience générale
The main issue I had was gaining access to my storage unit. The access code that was emailed to me did not and still does not work. I've had this storage space for over a year. I frequently went to store & retrieve items without any issues. When I went to empty it out this time there were mouse or rat droppings everywhere! The unit smelled like rodent urine and there were urine stains every where - on the unit floor, my furniture, clothes, on boxes etc. most of my bags were torn through and rodent feces were inside the bags & boxes. I had to throw out so many of my belongings because of this! There wasn't any food stored in my unit either. I went in to put something in my storage and my card wouldn't work. I went into the office to let them know I was having issues and all 3 employees looked so bothered because I was asking for help.. All the questions they asked were with such an attitude and my only guess is because I was there around 5:40pm and they close at 6. To my surprise, the guy at the front desk tells me that they can't find my info and that my storage was emptied out.. I was so confused and scared that I had just been robbed somehow.. I asked them how that was possible when I was still receiving invoices and paying monthly and all they said was "I don't know. You must've cancelled" I told him that even if I cancelled, I would have came back for my stuff and he just looked so unbothered by my concern. I insisted they give me access to check my storage to see for myself. When I got there, my belongings were still there LUCKILY. And when I asked for an explanation they couldn't give me one. I had to sign up AGAIN.. give my information AGAIN.. and deal with their attitude for working a few minutes longer. It would be nice to deal with staff that actually care and look like they WANT to be there. I understand mistakes happen but the way the employees handled my situation was extremely unprofessional and made me want to take my business elsewhere.stephany g. | Premières impressions

This storage facility was well kept and clean. The 10 x 10 unit assigned to me was more than sufficient to house my belongings. Half of my stuff in storage was covered in rat droppings. It was a nightmare to go through my things and find droppings all over them. I had to get rid of a lot of my stuff due to that and cleaned every other items that didn't have droppings on it. I specifically discussed option on unit location when booking my unit. Upon arrival, I found out they gave me a second floor unit with no elevator or ramp but 10 stairs. Bring a single female moving alone this made my move immensely more diffIcult. If I wasn't promised something on a first floor I would have never rented here. I have moved a lot and this was by far the most difficult. The only good thing about it was Gwendolyn. She went above and beyond to do what she could to improve the situation. She quickly offered to check for other units available (there were none), helped me carry a dolly upstairs so I'd have one on each floor, and helped me bring in my first load. Gwendolyn was very compassionate and helpful, certainly a shining star of UHaul. If possible please find a way to recognize her for her outstanding customer service.RACHEL S. | Premières impressions

The customer experience was abysmal. From the moment I entered, the staff treated me like I was a bother. The owner Alisha was a NIGHTMARE, she had a huge attitude whenever I asked her questions, looking at me like I was an idiot for not knowing things that she considered basic. This was my first time renting a storage unit anywhere and I had no clue what to expect. More importantly, I don't work at UHAUL so I expect the staff to be polite and helpful. The person handling my order was new I guess and Alisha was training him, but was video-calling someone the entire time. When I asked that new person questions, he either ignored me or answered while walking away. He handed me a card to swipe at the front desk and did not tell me to hold onto it to access my unit, then he got an attitude with me when I didn't hold onto it. When I asked where to pull up the truck Alisha told me to drive to the end of the lot with an attitude; it turned out I needed to make a right and pull into the garage - again, I DO NOT work for UHAUL and need as much information to accomplish what I am there to do. When we get to the garage, the new staff member just watched us pull up, instead of instructing us to back into the garage - again, directions and guidance are so important. The lack of customer concern was appalling. When we got to our storage unit, it was locked so we were reassigned a new unit. When we asked for an updated contract, Alisha was yelling at us - it was an awful experience. She kept saying, "we're closed" and my husband had to insist before she finally gave us an updated contract. Mind you, had the staff been helpful and politely offered clear directions from the start, we could have gotten done much sooner. Overall all the employees treated us like everything was obvious. Some questions they didn't even have the answer to, but somehow we are supposed to know. The staff acts so recklessly with customers because they know customers trust the UHAUL brand and just need their items faithfully was stored. Alisha especially was so disappointing - her badge says "owner" but she doesn't even behave like a supervisor. The worst part is, the model she sets is what the rest of the staff emulates and it's obvious no one in this location cares about customers. But I have never felt so humiliated by an entire staff of people ever - it felt like a joke they were all in on, it was so embarrassing. UHAUL should seriously consider having someone like Alisha represent their brand as a franchisee or whatever she is.Oluwatosin B. | Premières impressions

My only problem with the facility was the mice that apparently came into my storage unit, judging by the leftover mice feces. I suppose I can't expect the staff to be fully able to take care of this problem, since mice would be hiding in other customers' units, but it was annoying. Maybe put some kind of caulk or other barrier at seams on the floor between units, to prevent the mice moving in and out that way?PJ S. | Expérience générale
