Ensure that car carrier is strapped properly and iron chains is not just one. We had to stop and have a mechanic fix the straps. Once we got to uHaul they were upset that only one chain was used. Told us that they are happy nothing happened to my Lexus. This is unacceptable. I should be refunded for this gross negligence.Margo S.

I needed help unfortunately it was after hours when the ignition of the U-Haul truck was not able to turn as the key was in the ignition. I called road side assistance and it took 1 hour for help. I was able to turn the ignition while depressing the brake however it was very tricky.Naa-Densua D.

Hire people who know what they're doing, and know about the Equipment they are renting, The truck was in poor condition, no horn, steering was all over the road,, headlights flashing all the time, a piece of junk...never again I would rent from u haul...FRANK D.
When I pick up the truck I noticed it says the service tire monitor system light was on so I ask 1 of the Worker about it he said sometimes when they change the tire it does take a while to come off I didn't believe him but I took a chance and it never came off did over 2500 miles they need to make sure the vehicles is 100 percent good especially when u going on these long distances â€¦:(ZAFEER H.

The gas that the representative highlighted was wrong I went to tell her and she said it was too late and up charge me extra for the gasFRITZNEL C.
I was NOT originally scheduled for pick up in this location and it did require an extra 20 miles of driving on my part in a heavily congested area but he check in process was quick, profession and fully electronic. Only took 15 minutes!!! BUT I HAD A GUARANTEED RESERVATION FOR THE UNIT AT ANOTHER LOCATION AND WAS FORCED INTO A NEW LOCATION 48 HOURS BEFORE PICK UP TIME....NOT COOL.TED J.

Location is poorly run. A car was parked behind the vehicle we rented and when we asked for it to be moved it was a big hassle. Turned out it was an employee's car. I was hassled about where I parked my car and I wasn't blocking any vehicle, Ridiculous! Then we get in the van and the tank is empty, so back in we went. Took forever to get our van and get out of there. Online process to reserve is great but this location needs some MAJOR improvements. Needs someone there to manage the place! Need to have a place for customers to park, strong people working behind the counter, vehicles with gas ready to go, etc. This location must make a TON of money because it is always busy but it is so poorly run I would not return here.JOHN O.

We had a few problems when we rented it, first, the oil was low and there was an alert to remind us as we were driving. Second, the trunk back wheels would skit but it carried us to and fro and we was able to arrive back safely. We will rent from you again. Just a different truck. Mr. Green was very kind.Monique M.

I needed help to understand the breakdown of my bill and the kind gentleman told me I would have to wait for the manager Shante to assist but when she arrived she was rude and unhelpful. She had an attitude and didn't seem to want to work let alone help me. I decided to just pay the bill and call customer service to get help from someone else off property. Thankfully the manager on this call assisted me and refunded me the cash I knew was incorrect at the time of my drop off. How are the employees below Shante nicer and more helpful than her? The lady at the counter was rude, aggressive and very unprofessional. I've reserved a 17 foot truck, furniture dolly for 12 hours but at the pick up location she told me that I'd be getting a 10 foot truck with no furniture dolly and for 4 hours only. All this was mentioned to me in such a way that it was very normal and in a tone that I've no other option but to accept what I was told. After my payment they were not able to find the keys to my issued truck and when I went back to the counter, the same lady told me to go and outside for the guys to find the keys and not waste her time! I returned the unused item and even though they say that you get refund when you return unused item they didn't refund anything for me. They were busy calculating time of my return. I explained them that my car was far away and I had to go there, try and then come back and also gave address to verify but they were not even ready to listen. I was even ready to be charged partially but they were not even helpful with that. If they are not going to consider anything then they should not lie to the customers just to get the reservations. I asked for a 8" truck and reserved it beforehand. When I reached location, they said they don't have any. I had to move so had to book an expensive 10" truck even though I did not need that big a truck. Would really appreciate if you can tell me while booking or before reservation time if you don't have availability. I would look for an alternative rather than spending unnecessarily.SMRATI H.

I rent Uhaul vans /trucks once a week in Jersey city Tonnelle Ave. and I used at least 60 to 70 miles per day , I noticed that mpg is not consistent with same amount of traveling, they need those trucks/vans to be maintained. Other than that customer service excellent!!!!OLIVER C.
Order number: 20533457. I was charged for an extra day. My return date and time was Aug 15, 2021 at 267 Tonnelle Ave, Jersey City, NJ 07306, 7:30 PM. I returned the uhaul at the correct time. Although the Uhaul store was closed by the time of my scheduled return, I parked the Uhaul and returned the key to dropbox. There might be a mistake as the store manager would have checked the return the next day. I emailed the uhaul team but no replies yet. I got charged 19$ for fuel when I returned it exactly as I received it. Actually when I received it it was almost on E. When I called to complain I was told that it had to be over a quarter tank. There is a gas station near my return location. No one said anything about it to me. I was supposed to remember that from 4 days ago when I picked up the truck. Also the mileage quote was way off. I drove directly to my destination with no side trips and somehow I went 11 miles over. The day I picked up the location was not open and they had no trucks. I had to walk a mile to another location after calling uhaul.Justin M.

When I first called several weeks ago about moving my storage space, I specifically asked that it be located on ground level with no stairs. I was assured that it would be. That didn't happen. The main issue I had was gaining access to my storage unit. The access code that was emailed to me did not and still does not work. I've had this storage space for over a year. I frequently went to store & retrieve items without any issues. When I went to empty it out this time there were mouse or rat droppings everywhere! The unit smelled like rodent urine and there were urine stains every where - on the unit floor, my furniture, clothes, on boxes etc. most of my bags were torn through and rodent feces were inside the bags & boxes. I had to throw out so many of my belongings because of this! There wasn't any food stored in my unit either. I went in to put something in my storage and my card wouldn't work. I went into the office to let them know I was having issues and all 3 employees looked so bothered because I was asking for help.. All the questions they asked were with such an attitude and my only guess is because I was there around 5:40pm and they close at 6. To my surprise, the guy at the front desk tells me that they can't find my info and that my storage was emptied out.. I was so confused and scared that I had just been robbed somehow.. I asked them how that was possible when I was still receiving invoices and paying monthly and all they said was "I don't know. You must've cancelled" I told him that even if I cancelled, I would have came back for my stuff and he just looked so unbothered by my concern. I insisted they give me access to check my storage to see for myself. When I got there, my belongings were still there LUCKILY. And when I asked for an explanation they couldn't give me one. I had to sign up AGAIN.. give my information AGAIN.. and deal with their attitude for working a few minutes longer. It would be nice to deal with staff that actually care and look like they WANT to be there. This storage facility was well kept and clean. The 10 x 10 unit assigned to me was more than sufficient to house my belongings. This location's staff met my every expectation and for anyone I know moving or looking for storage I would definitely recommend Tonelle to them. Half of my stuff in storage was covered in rat droppings. It was a nightmare to go through my things and find droppings all over them. I had to get rid of a lot of my stuff due to that and cleaned every other items that didn't have droppings on it. I specifically discussed option on unit location when booking my unit. Upon arrival, I found out they gave me a second floor unit with no elevator or ramp but 10 stairs. Bring a single female moving alone this made my move immensely more diffIcult. If I wasn't promised something on a first floor I would have never rented here. I have moved a lot and this was by far the most difficult. The only good thing about it was Gwendolyn. She went above and beyond to do what she could to improve the situation. She quickly offered to check for other units available (there were none), helped me carry a dolly upstairs so I'd have one on each floor, and helped me bring in my first load. Gwendolyn was very compassionate and helpful, certainly a shining star of UHaul. If possible please find a way to recognize her for her outstanding customer service.RACHEL S. | Premières impressions

The customer experience was abysmal. From the moment I entered, the staff treated me like I was a bother. The owner Alisha was a NIGHTMARE, she had a huge attitude whenever I asked her questions, looking at me like I was an idiot for not knowing things that she considered basic. This was my first time renting a storage unit anywhere and I had no clue what to expect. More importantly, I don't work at UHAUL so I expect the staff to be polite and helpful. The person handling my order was new I guess and Alisha was training him, but was video-calling someone the entire time. When I asked that new person questions, he either ignored me or answered while walking away. He handed me a card to swipe at the front desk and did not tell me to hold onto it to access my unit, then he got an attitude with me when I didn't hold onto it. When I asked where to pull up the truck Alisha told me to drive to the end of the lot with an attitude; it turned out I needed to make a right and pull into the garage - again, I DO NOT work for UHAUL and need as much information to accomplish what I am there to do. When we get to the garage, the new staff member just watched us pull up, instead of instructing us to back into the garage - again, directions and guidance are so important. The lack of customer concern was appalling. When we got to our storage unit, it was locked so we were reassigned a new unit. When we asked for an updated contract, Alisha was yelling at us - it was an awful experience. She kept saying, "we're closed" and my husband had to insist before she finally gave us an updated contract. Mind you, had the staff been helpful and politely offered clear directions from the start, we could have gotten done much sooner. Overall all the employees treated us like everything was obvious. Some questions they didn't even have the answer to, but somehow we are supposed to know. The staff acts so recklessly with customers because they know customers trust the UHAUL brand and just need their items faithfully was stored. Alisha especially was so disappointing - her badge says "owner" but she doesn't even behave like a supervisor. The worst part is, the model she sets is what the rest of the staff emulates and it's obvious no one in this location cares about customers. But I have never felt so humiliated by an entire staff of people ever - it felt like a joke they were all in on, it was so embarrassing.
