The back door would not open. It delayed us 2 hours because of it. When returned, they couldn't get it open either. They knew before I left. I called but no solution was offered except to get a different truck which would have been smaller. I needed that size in order to avoid multiple trips.

Hire more people to answer the phone. One hour and 15 minutes on hold and then transferred to road service and another 30 minutes on hold. Then told it would be another 90 minutes for road service to show up. I had only driven the empty car hauler trailer 15 miles from picking it up in La Crosse. After talking with U-Haul dispatch, I decided to return the trailer back to La Crosse. I hope they will refund my rental. Trailer had a burnt out marker light and employee did not want to fix it. Tire had a big bulge in the sidewall.

This was not my scheduled drop off location and I had a horrible experience with my drop off. When I first arrived to this location and informed them it was not my scheduled one they let me know it would be an added fee for drop off at a different location or I would need to go back to my scheduled spot (15 min back in the wrong direction after trying two different times to drop it off) and drop it off there. After letting him know I would not be doing that he did a great job working with me. I did however request his manager still contact me the next time he was in and have not yet heard from him but hope to soon.

When I did my return of the trailer I rented it was raining harder then it had all summer! and when I asked the two gals that were waiting on me if I should unhook the trailer they said that they would be happy to go ahead and do it even though I was already drenched myself from the rain. These two girls were very friendly and professional and I would say went above what anybody would have expected of them in that down pour moment. Excellent service from those two!!!

The truck had no power steering, made weird noises randomly, and had LOTS of damage that was not "marked with an X" as you indicate it should have been. Luckily they didn't blame any of that on me, as I didn't do any of it, but if I had actually spent the time to reply to the link about sending photos of any un-marked damage it would have taken me 2 hours to document it all.

Trailer is clean and I like using the car trailers as they tow very well but this last one I rented has tires that are not safe in my opinion. Bald spots in the tread and weather checking on the side walls.

The workers were too busy with their cell phones to come outside and check the vehicle back in even though the sign in the "return equipment area" tells customers to wait here with your vehicle. So I went inside and found them with their heads down looking at their phones. One at the desk and one sitting in a chair watching videos. The workers at this facility look like the scum of the earth, like barely one step up from the living dead. You should fire everyone and start over. Its too nice of a facility to idiots running it.

Peter and his staff were top notch. From the moment I drove into their lot to the time I dropped off my rental they were the most professional staff in town. Customer Service is something they believe in and believe me when you go directly to the store you get more service than you do when you call the corporate number and talk to someone in another state. The fan stopped working part way during our trip. It was a very hot and humid ride most of our 4 hour trip. We reported this when we returned the truck but the gentleman did not seem concerned nor was he apologetic. Otherwise everything was good!

The next time I walk into the store and I'm the only customer inside the building, walking up to the counter perhaps the two employees sitting there should acknowledge me instead of looking at me, getting up and walking away in to different directions out of the building. I own a business and this is not good customer service. I get it if you're busy but they literally looked at me, said nothing and walked away. I stood there for 10 minutes and no one came back in. Acknowledge your customers. Very easy to make me a happier customer if you tell me you see me and you'll assist as soon as you can. I was very upset by this behavior.

Busy place. 4 in line at my drop off... I walked inside from the drive thru... surprised how busy. Got in line 2 more came in bend me. Short wait, 7 to 10 minutes. All worked out well, trailer, people, etc. Good rental. But it says $15, but check in actually $51 total. :( that's corporate misleading advertising.) La crosse is good location, I will used services again. Thx!

So sad. The fellow checking us in said the tire seemed somewhat flat. He charged us for a new tire. We didn't hit anything, didn't drive up any curbs and had made it to our destination with no incidents. I had even purchased the insurance...and still we had to pay for a new tire. I would have guessed this was normal wear and tear. Really ruined our otherwise good U Haul experience. Will not recommend this service to anyone we know. Very disappointed we had no recourse.

Terrible experience, I would recommend any other truck rental company. I reserved a truck and storage 3 weeks ahead of time using 24/7 truck share. When it came to the day of my move, the uhaul dealer was closed and they didn't leave the keys. I sat on the phone with customer service for over an hour, on and off hold, only to be told there was nothing they could do. They also told me there were no other trucks that size available at a nearby location. I went on and had to find it myself, no thanks to them. I got to pickup location #2 and the front desk was rude, charged me differently than what i booked online, and complained to me how much his phone was ringing....when time is of the essence, uhaul doesn't care...at any point, they could have warned me about the pickup not being available, but took me to call them for anything to happen. If i can help it, I'll never use uhaul again and reccomending all friends and family to do the same.

The vehicle interior and dash was filthy with dust/dirt as if the windows were always open. The side door did not work properly. It took multiple attempts and slamming it to get it to close correctly each time I needed to use it. Most times, not knowing it wasnt closed correctly until the electronics on the dash let me know. Multiple times I had to get out of the vehicle to attempt closure again. The van had just under 25k and drove and sounded like it had 200k miles. This is my only negative experience with Uhaul. The staff is always great.

Staff were on there phones and relaxing on furniture. They were eating and using profanity often while servicing me. A customer was parking a rented vehicle and the staff called him an “ass” because of how the customer was parking the truck. The vehicle I rented was a 17’ truck that was not maintained well at all. It needed an alignment badly, the transmission would down shift hard and cause the personal things to shift around in the back, the headlights were terrible- leaving me unable to safely see while driving at night. I would not have seen a deer until I hit it. Also, I filled the truck up to original level and still got charged $11 for gas. Staff, equipment, and not the prices of things but how the staff chose to charge me for the rental were all outrageous. I was charged about $200 for a rental of just the 17’ truck and cheapest insurance. I would recommend any other place but here. To whomever is in charge, retrain your employees and really maintain your vehicles because we need insurance just in case the truck goes to hell on us because of the poor conditions.

I have rented from this location several times in the past few years. I have always had great experiences with the staff going above and beyond when I have had issues with my light connections not working. I have nothing bad to say at all about the service but was disappointed to get charged a late return fee for a 2 hour delaying getting trailer back. I'm sure it's policy but it wasn't as if the trailer was needed for another rental since the lot was full and the office was closing.

I tried to explain that the mileage was listed at 37721, but that by the time the Attendent gave me the keys, the Speedometer had rolled over to the next mile marker, 37722. Also, although the Gas was listed on the paperwork as 5/8 full, the gas was clearly below that mark. However, when I returned the Truck, I put in more than 5/8 full, for good measure. However, the Attendent wanted to debate whether the needle had truly reached 5/8 full after I re-filled at the Gas Station, even though I assurred him I had put in more gas than I was given, initially. So, although I am a well-respected teacher/administrator, I found it strange the Attendent wanted to debate minor bookkeeping issues. Made me feel disbelieved, even though I had attempted to exceed the expectations.

You should actually honor reservations. If I reserve a 17 foot truck for 10:00, I expect the truck I need at the time I need it. I got a smaller truck because “no 17 foot trucks were available.” Although there was one available, but we couldn’t take it at 10:00 because someone was taking it at noon. We were told we could wait for the guy who had the truck (whenever he showed up) or take a smaller one. We also waited in line, a short line, for 25-30 minutes before being helped. I definitely would not recommend and I won’t be back.

I was rented a trailer with a slow leak tire, a 4x8. Was frustrating when the staff said they couldn’t fix or replace my wheel/tire. Brad said they didn’t have the ability to correct the problem. Could not reach the Rose Street office by phone. No one called 24 hours prior, so i drove to the terminal. I found that i had been assigned an 15' rather than the 10' I reserved online. 10' was not available for my rental time block. MPG difference over the400 miles I was driving would have increased my out of pocket cost by $30. I told them i wanted a discount of $30 to cover the extra fuel cost. Associate would not agree. I said i would be back at my pick up the reserved vehicle the next day, or they should be prepared to somehow make up the $30 difference. 10x truck was ready when I arrived the next day. Worked out, but should have been easier. Checking back in upon my return was quick and easy. Vehicle performed well.

We picked up the truck at 1pm, drove the truck 22 miles TOTAL, and returned it by 9pm because it was needed again at 7am the next morning. They charged me $17 to gas it up! The instructions were leave it at about half tank, which is the level when we received it. I understand I used a gallon or two of gas, but $17! Come on man.

The employee that helped us was staring off into space even after we arrived and stood in front of him. I wondered at one point if he was high. The invoicing is all messed up with our rental and at this time is still messed up and hopefully in the process of being fixed. We were charged THREE separate charges when we should have only been charged once. The location we reserved the UHaul to be picked up two months ago, didn’t have a truck for us. Overall, it was a mess.

The counter girl was unprofessional, I asked if she wanted to verify my identity and she said no, that's okay. I asked if she wanted me to attach a receipt to the keys and she said, no, you don't have to do anything. I asked about putting fuel in the vehicle and she said bring it back with what it has in it. We only needed storage for a few days, snd this worked out perfectly. It was the staff, though, that made the difference. This was the most well run uhaul location I have dealt with.

Employees are all very good, but there never seems to be enough help. Was very difficult to reach somebody on the phone and always a long line. Definitely need to have more staff during peak times.
