I was billed for fuel and miles I DID NOT USE. Although I used the app. I was made to wait for service anyway. Even though I paid cash and FOOLISHLY believed that “we’re busy can we email your receipt” was a true statement I was never mailed a receipt and was billed on my debit card not just a second time but MORE than I was told I owed and paid cash for!!!! Your criminals. You deserve to go out of business. My wife wants to sue and I’m considering it given how we were treated.

I am completely dissatisfied with the UHaul Corp not the local stores. Communication, commitment, resolution management were terrible because your staff doesn’t have complete control and authority to make necessary traffic and scheduling changes. You leave the customer to retell their issue numerous times to different staff rather than your staff having the ability to help a customer that’s in obvious need since they are moving and not home or at work in front of a phone or computer. Check the case notes for my reservation and you’ll be aware of your own internal challenges. It’s awful that you leave your local staff and customers to resolve an issue that neither have the means to manage.

For the amount of stuff that I had, it was not worth the cost to rent boxes and stress. Also the second box in Seattle Washington, the door was broken and I let them know the door was broken during drop off. I ended up getting a call the day it was scheduled to leave the facility to come over and unlock it because the box completely broke . It took about three hours to move my stuff from one box to the other . This box was scheduled to go to Lodi but instead went to Manteca California. It was an inconvenience because the drive was already long to go pick it up it added approximately two hours extra to drive it to my house and back to the facility in Manteca with 2 little kids in the car. For these reasons alone, I will no longer use this service to move in the future . I was highly stressed out and extremely unsatisfied/ frustrated with this service. I will also be letting anyone know that u boxes are not worth the cost or headache to use ! I will be using pods in the future.

I had a bad experience with this location and the one from Lodi CA I drove from Manteca to Lodi to pick up a trailer when I get there they confused me with other person and give me the wrong trailer. I drove back to manteca location and they give me a trailer supposed to be a 24 hrs rental and turn off to be for like 5 hrs and I pay for a full day 24 hrs not 5. At the end I receive okay service but I ended up driving and my time for nothing

I was 1 of 5 people who had to stand in line for an inordinate amount of time because there were only two employees at the counter and each were engaged in long complicated orders with customers. They should have called for at least one more counter person.

The truck was not maintained, the driving experience with such an outdated basic truck across 3 states was not a pleasant one. There is a charge for everything. Won’t be using or recommending U-Haul again. Paulette was very helpful though.. she was the only good interaction I had with uhaul

Picked up at a postal annex store, dropped off at uhual store. Was told two different things about the gas upon return. Put 10 gallons in gas upon return because the employee said they'd charge us $5.50/gallon. There's no way we used 10 gallons of gas. Postal annex guy circled a wide area on paperwork and said as long as gas gauge was in that "area" it was fine.

The locations are fine. It's just the reservations of the business that need a lot of attention. Your reservations need to be desperately improved. We reserved two 6' trailers weeks in advance and got neither at the place we needed them. We get a call/email less than 24 hrs. before stating we would have had to drive two hours in opposite directions to pick them up. So then two hours to drive back to our house to load up then start our moving process which was under time constraints. How can a company have reservations and then not deliver what is reserved in the spot you need it?? We ended up with a truck because it happened to be there or we would have been stuck.

Every time I go in for something it is poorly staffed and there are always problems checking out because of bad internet or computers or both. On this last trailer I rented I spent over an hour trying to checkout never again. I should be compensated for my time wasted there.

The truck had a failed oil gaged & the battery died which cost me time and money. I requested a credit because I had to rent for an extra day to get my move completed & I got no response from U-Haul.

The entire reservation and rental process was a disaster. I scheduled to rent a vehicle at a location very close to the place where I needed to pick up the goods to move. Just 21 minutes before I was scheduled to pick up the vehicle, I got a voicemail saying I had to divert to another location -- which, with traffic, took about half an hour to get to. It was also SIXTEEN miles away, adding the cost of gas as well as unplanned time to my schedule. When I arrived, I had to wait in line for over 15 additional minutes, then was AT LAST informed that the tank on the truck only comes with a quarter of a tank of gas (instead of full as in the past). Additional time was then required to put gas in the tank. This was a one-way rental from a city to a remote rural area and I COULD NOT get a straight answer in advance about a drop off location. I had helpers coming from a significant distance away, who had to sit around waiting because of the unplanned delay. They also could have left a vehicle near the drop off to simplify the return process, but without an answer in advance, I could not make those arrangements. I have used Uhaul a number of times, but I am not going to make sure I tell everyone I know that I had a horrible experience and to avoid renting through your company. The new quarter tank policy for gas is clearly designed to fool people into putting extra gas in the tank and essentially donating the gas to you. What a terrible idea; it just makes the whole experience feel exploitative.

Your representative was quick and even though she was really busy, took time to answer questions. I'd recommend U-Haul at this location. Could use an extra hand Fri. Sat. Sun. mornings as this is when locals come to get their rentals. Wait time a little long.

Clerk was very distracted and rushed. Truck had no gas in it. Clerk told us it had 3/8 of a tank. I did not come with lock. I was not told this prior to Leaving. I returned for lock. Told I had to buy one. They were out of the lock the clerk recommended. Truck was very old. Nearly broke down. Multiple times durning up the service lights came on. The breaks were shot. Made lots of noise when breaking. Had to put foot down all the way to break. Very unsafe.

Original location failed to let us know our truck never arrived. We showed up, and it wasn’t there. Had to drive 30 mins in another direction to pick up a 15ft. Was given credit and extra miles but we still had to make 2 trips when we moved an hour and 15 away. Additional 3 hours of driving when moving is already time consuming enough. Ultimately- the pick up Location was fine. They all complained about being on lunch which is weird that everyone too lunch together but it got the job done.

Some of the staff does not seem to know how the mobile check in works. I was misdirected and it took longer to pick up my rental truck because of this, which cut into my time to use it. The woman at the register was nice and helpful and the gentleman I returned the truck to was very polite. The woman that I was approached by upon entering the lot was rude and didnt understand how to so the mobile rental. She cut me off and was condescending when I tried to explain that I was doing the mobile option. Other then that, my experience was pleasant.

We had multiple contacts with this location and all were excellent. From answering questions, to purchasing supplies, to picking up and dropping off U-Boxes, the entire staff there were extremely good to work with. The store is often quite busy, and yet they always manage to get things done for you and treat you with interest and a smile.

I had originally reserved a truck in Modesto but last minute it was changed to Manteca and for a different size. When I got there the employees were rude and didn’t seem to care that I was even standing there. Mid-conversation the employee gets a call on their personal cell phone and answers it, cutting me off, and proceeds to ask if their friend can bring them a Gatorade and see ask how they’re doing. Once they were done with their conversation they then started “helping” me again. After I got the truck all the way home i realized they never gave me the dolly cart I had ordered but I wasn’t about to drive all the way back to Manteca from modesto to pick it up. Very unprofessional and hard to work with.

I have used the U-Haul phone application for the third time now. Each time I have had more than one issue with various elements of the process. I addition, early this morning (5:30) I used the application for my van rental. However, when I went to use the key stored in the lock box, it was not the key for my vehicle. I call U-Haul and they apologized for the inconvenience and told me the general manager for the store would arrive in 30 minutes. She never arrived. In fact, two employees told me when they arrived at 6:00 they could not assist me. They were both put off by me asking them for assistance so early in the morning. Finally, an indifferent employee took his time in going in and finding the correct key. All told, I spent an hour and a half waiting to be helped. How does the wrong key end up in the box and the store responsible does not take any responsibility or apologize for their error? You have a terrible service. I was told by the U-Haul representative on the phone to expect a $50 voucher for the mistake and inconvenience. However, I doubt you will follow through or even respond to my comments.

more and better trained staff. Paulette is priceless and the other at best are average. She did EVERYTHING for for everyone there to help them trough their assigned duties. Check in on Saturday was much better. Possibly just an off day for everyone BUT Paulette.. But another waiting customer shared that he always waits too long for reserved trucks...... Not happy with my overall u haul experience, not really anything to do with location. I booked a reservation to pickup a truck in Lathrop, CA through the u haul app- immediately received a text to confirm my reservation, which I confirmed, then proceeded to pickup my rental at specified time only to have the lathrop location tell me that my reservation has been moved to Manteca, CA and to pickup from there. I called u haul to complain and was told they are having issues with their system. U haul didn’t even offer me extra time on my rental to account for the extra driving/ time I had to take to drive to the Manteca office. My truck was also supposed to be ready for pick up but it wasn’t and I had to wait in line for 15-20 minutes to get they key. I planned on renting a truck through u haul to move over the few weekends. I probably won’t be doing this through u haul.

This location is so unprofessional and clueless. I mean this location is just horrible. The lady check me in said I had the truck for 2 days and I had it for only 4 hours. She said it left out with 95000 miles. I said how so, the truck only has 28,738 on it. So what are you saying? She said I don't know, you have to go inside. I told her just came from inside were the manger took 15 minutes arguing with a customer holding everyone up. I ask her if anyone was working beside her she said you can go outside to return. Went outside and had return inside. Paulette the manger was so unprofessional she left me to go work with ford who did not have a reservation. Kept leaving the counter with me to talk to somebody at ford with a customer phone. I ask can you finish me before you keep helping someone else. I was here before them. Even they said go ahead and finish her she came back just to walk back to them and instead completing my order. I ask for a receipt of what I was charged she said she don't know. I ASK for a complete receipt told me I will have to call where I picked up from. I explained I was overcharged. She also said call the 800 number. I am done with uhaul. Even if I have to pay more. I felt so used and taken advantage of by a company that has a lot more than me. Shame uhaul. Very disappointed. I rent from you several times.please take my credit information out of your files. You got me this time. I promise I will keep bugging and talking about tjis untill I get my money back that is rightfully mines. 317-7778869

I called on Sunday when my car broke down. The first person I spoke with stated she found a dolly that was going to be return to Stockton and that they would text me or call me back to come and pick it up.she said tonight.I had my son waiting. No call. Got an email that something would be ready the next day at noon. Called again spoke with some else. He Stated not sure why I was told that. No one was available. He also stated that He could not see what everyone had I would have to call in the morning. Called again spoke with someone who stated My car was too big to rent the car transport. Waited then called again was able to rent the car transport. Went to pick it up the next day. Got a call from someone it was not available, after I had a confirmation number!! I was there at 7AM. On site. The nice lady at Manteca call and inquired why?? It was because some how they rented me a transport trailer in Modesto. Not sure how that happened. Overall it was a very upsetting, frustrating roller coaster for 24 hours. Everyone had a different story. Not sure why you can’t look up what each location has. I know you have computers. I am just glad it’s over????

The employees were pleasant and products great. This location was completely disorganized and inefficient . Long time waiting in line to make purchases- usually only 1 employee at a time serving customers and they switched out often. Very Very frustrating. Service seemed random and haphazard

I had a 10:30 reservation at the McHenry ave, Modesto Ca location I made on line. As I was pulling into the location I reserved it at 5 minutes from my house at 10:33 I received a message that I had to pick the trailer up at the Main st, Manteca Ca location an hour round trip away. So my whole day ended up running an hour late. Then I had to drive another hour out of my way to return it. Everyone I talked to had a oh well, to bad for me attitude and where unhelpful. Told me if I wanted it I had to drive to it. If the trailer wasn't available at my location I would have used a different company but since it let me reserve it I assumed everything was set. I have rented a couple other trailers this year already but uhaul is now my last resort.

The employees were pleasant and helpful, but there were not nearly enough employees available. Staff was outside helping others when I arrived and there was literally no one in the store with a line of people standing around. The wait time to be served was completely unacceptable, and that was with already having pre-arranged pick-up for a specific time.

Because of computer issues it took 35 minutes to check out my truck. They weren't able to print me a copy of my paperwork. The truck I rented hadn't been checked in when I arrived and it was very dirty. I reserved the truck 2 weeks in advance and would have thought my truck would be ready to go when I arrived. The counter person was very professional and nice and I could tell he was very sorry for the issues. He was the only pleasant thing about this visit. Right now I'm trying to view my bill that was emailed but I can't open it.

When I brought the truck back to center for return it says stay in your vehicle and wait for attendant I waited 15 min and no attendant and then she comes out and start to take the gentlemen that came after me and I said I was there before him. She indicated she didn't see me sitting in a 20 ft truck. I have to say I was very disappointed with that situation, she said I should have come into the office then the sign should say come into the office .
