There should be a more thorough commitment to equipment working properly. The air conditioning was intermittent, there was a rattling noise upon starting from a stop, and a high pitched squeal around 40-60mph when turning the steering wheel.CYNTHIA R.

The rental facility was nice but the experience was horrible. To start, my reservation was shortened to 24 hours without notice. I needed a vehicle for longer so I had to make another reservation for the next day but couldn't find one at the same location. I was late picking up the 2nd truck because we had to return the 1st one at one location then drive to another for the pick up. Because I was late, UHaul automatically canceled my reservation. Fortunately, there was a truck available nearby. I was able to drive a few miles away to pick up this vehicle. All in all, the reservation process was horrendous and there was little regard , if any for the trouble this caused for me or the other people with reservations longer than 24 hours. If it wasn't for a need to rent one of these vehicles, I would much rather go through another company next timeMARK N.

Made a reservation online. Went to go inside to check in. I had the reservation number on my phone and the employee typed it in wrong three different times. She kept talking to her co working about another customer instead of helping me. By the time she finally got to helping me she could not find my name in the system even though I had already made my reservation a week before. After about 15mins she finally realized the reservation was under my last name. Then she said we are all set. Without my approval she added the 24hr service and one way stop and the price was over 300 $. My reservation was only for a set time and in town. I told her I didn't want the 24hr service 3 times and told her to take the one way stop off too. She finally took it off after trying to convince for 10mins to keep it. Then she didn't know what truck I was renting. Even though I showed her the whole reservation on my email with all the information she needed. Then she prorated me for 60miles. Even though I was traveling a lot less. Staff needs to be retrained.MITCHELL Z.

Customer service inside the facility was lacking. There were three people when I got there and when I had a question about the vehicle because a key wasn't working, no one was in sight. The truck was also pretty beat up. The breaks were squeaky and the doors were dinged. I also was not told that my vehicle was going to be mine for 24 hours. I was under the assumption that the marked 6 hours on my contract were what I was paying for. At the end of the day, I got the job done, with just a few hurdlesCORWIN R.

With only 1 employee working the wait time to actually get our crappy truck was long. The truck itself was poorly taken care of. It was a piece of junk. But it did it's job at the end of the dayâ€¦. There was a new worker that was training and I didn't get his name but his customer service was excellent also. Shelly was awesome, always trying to help me with my storage issues, even when she was on her way home. Thank you guys. I am a 24/7 user. I arranged to pick up my 9' cargo van at 0600. However, when I accessed the lock box the keys were not inside. I spent the next hour on the phone trying to get the issue resolved. I was transferred to two other people and eventually kept on hold for so long the call dropped. I had to wait until 0900, three hours later, for the store to open and get my key. This is the second this has happened to me at this location in Manteca, Ca.Paul C.

Lots of equipment to rent. I had an issue with the mobile app to check out the rental van, but the agent was very helpful in checking out my 15' truck. I was given a brand new truck that only had 800 miles on it! I was so happy with the new truck. It drove real smooth and the cargo area was really clean.LEONARD S.

I was disappointed in the customer service provided during my equipment pickup. I was sent to the back part of the lot to hook up my trailer. I immediately went to the location I was directed to. I waited there over 10 minutes and actually started to walk back to the office feeling that I was forgotten about. The U-Haul Center in Manteca forgot to put the furniture pads in the U-Boxes. We lived 1hr 20min from Manteca. We weren't going to go and get them after we opened the U-Boxes in Chowchilla.STEPHEN A.

I was happy with the service attendant but when I unexpectedly found a large room to share I had to vacate the storage space in order to conserve with the payment of my living space. I expected to get the rest of the time I did not used at U-haul be refunded unfortunately I was surprised that you guys would make extra money from the space but not refund the money I didn't use. After renting a U-Haul van, I asked the young lady inside if any small 5x5 storage units were available for rent. She indicated that there were not, and took my contact information to be put onto a waiting list. A day or two later, I went to the uhaul.com website on a whim and checked for 5x5 availability, and it seemed there were 5x5 units available the whole time, so I went ahead and rented one online. After hours access works fine, but there really should be a note posted adjacent to the door stating that, after the access code is entered, the renter has to pull *hard* to open the door.
