1st: sites for a specific piece of equip, in this case a larger, open trailer showed as avail at one place. I set it up and then you changed it to another site, 20 MILES OUT OF MY WAY! WTF? so I have to go that far twice! 2nd: lady at counter says I didn't rent one with a ramp, I did and told her so, that was the only reason I got the bigger one so I could roll stuff up it. She was EXTREMELY rude and basically told me a I was lying. 3rd: Tried telling me I had to return it at 0900 when my original time was 1200 noon. I told her NO. 4th: She got the paper work wrong and "rented" me a smaller trailer, after all that discussion! I had my print out showing my reservation for the larger trailer with ramp. 5th: the 2 outside helping with hook up and unhooking on return were very friendly, helpful, courteous. Thank you to them. They are the reason I gave you an average and not lower.

You are on the right track. You have hired new personnel. Unfortunately, four new people were scheduled on a busy Sunday morning, making the lines move slowly. There was only one trainer to assist the four new people. Two trainers/experienced people would have been better.

Streamline the secondary contact information step. If I hadn't had to deal with that part, my rental pickup process would have gone much quicker. I would suggest adding the secondary contact info into what I can put into my account online so that it is already there and ready, like my driver license picture was.

This location was 15 plus miles out of my way. I reserved a truck close to me & confirmed the reservation. The next morning my reservation is moved twice because no trucks available near me? Very frustrating & rude desk girl at Kansas Ave location. Where's my credit coming to me?

Truck was poorly maintained. Went into limp mode within 5 miles after departure. Several check engine lights for throttle position sensor, ABS. Gauges quit working. Excessive oil usage.

Truck exterior was dirty, inside was clean. I had issues uploading my license ( employee very helpful) however I rented a dolly and furniture mover that wasn't in the truck and I wasn't told I had to pick them up. And of course when dropping off the truck I forgot to mention it the person who checked me out.

Second time, I reserved a truck and my reservation was moved far out of my comfort zone. This was 28 extra miles round trip...which I had to pay for, and it was beyond the travel area, instead of between the two cities. Second time.

Honor gas return fee. Received truck with 7/8 gas. Returned truck with exact same 7/8 tank full and yet I am being charged for gas?? I thought there was no charge if returned with exact same gas truck was received with.

This location was very helpful but the overall experience was horrible and I will NEVER use UHaul again for any move. Quotes were misquoted and information I was told was wrong and it cost me $1000 more than I was told it would cost. Your site needs to be better show user to be able to either pick moving help for load or unload and just have it as load/unload which it means to me it is for both not just one or the other. Movers were late and or first one set up was not answering phone or email. So definitely will never use again.

The staff at U-Haul Moving & Storage of Manteca provided excellent customer service! They were very friendly, yet professional, and processed my pick-up and return expeditiously. This made it very convenient. Unfortunately, the truck I'd rented was in very poor shape with damages around the box truck, the driver door squeaked when opening/closing and the ride was very uncomfortable. However, the air-conditioning was more than adequate.

Rental agents were courteous and helpful. Given the COVID pandemic, I feel U Haul has done a good job of providing a safe environment. I appreciated King's help with the paperwork and for hooking up the rental trailer and the safety check. The return experience was great as well. Everything was done for me with no need to go into the rental office To close out paperwork.

Waiting for someone to help takes so much time. Checked in online and still waited 30 minutes to have the paperwork and trailer hooked up (8:30am). Then returned the trailer around 4:30pm same day and waited at the return area for 10+ minutes without anyone showing up. Honked the horn and still nobody. Got out the truck and went inside to find lady talking to a customer. This went on for about 10 minutes and I'm just waiting there. Then I finally see someone outside walking towards the return station. They have cameras all over the area and radios to alert each other. But this happens so often at this location. Love the selection, prices and location being close to home. Just wished they could speed things up most of the time. Other than the waiting, I'll still be back for the availability and fair prices. Thank you

The truck was horrible. The outside was covered in bird poop, the door was falling apart when i opened it, radio didn't work, Had to walk out to the back forty for the truck. tried to over charge us for gas he corrected when asked about it. The truck just felt rickety and it was honestly terrifying driving it on the freeway. I questioned the maintenance records of this vehicle, very scary and will continue to take my business to the little uhaul rentals near my house instead of this location.

The girls behind the counter can go over the rental agreement with customers instead of gossiping about food and be clear on the fuel surcharges. In regards to the fuel, instead of charging customers for gas they didn't use because the system now is on approximations, picking up a vehicle with a full tank will let customers know exactly what they are responsible for. If the customer puts gas in themselves, there can still be a dispute on how much gas was actually used because ones approximation is different from the next.

I admit the pickup location I finally arrived at successfully was pleasant. However, my overall experience to finally arrive at this location was by far the worst experience I've ever had with any rental and non-rental goods company. Let me explain. I understand one way rentals are scarce in large transient cities like San Francisco during these times. However, I completed a reservation about 3-4 weeks prior to when I needed it. I called about a week prior to moving date to get a better idea of availability. The lady on the phone assured me that while she could not confirm the time and location, I would have a vehicle available in the bay area and I will get a call by the 26th of september to confirm location. Fine, I waited. So the 26th comes and I get a call saying there are no vehicles available in the bay and I would have to go to Pine Grove, CA to pick one up. That is TWO HOURS away. Again, while I understand the scarcity of these vehicles, letting a customer know less than 24 hours before pickup time is unreasonable. Had I known this I would have made alternate plans. You don't want to lose a customer? Fine, but rest assured this will be my last UHAUL experience. So either way customer is gone. But I digress. So I make arrangements to drive to Pine Grove the next morning, leaving SF at 6am to get to my pickup by 8am. However, a few hours later I get an email that my reservation is cancelled. Cool. I call support and they somehow find me another vehicle in Martinez, CA. So the next morning I drive to Martinez, the pick up location happens to be a gas station. The employee at the gas station refuses to dispatch the vehicle to me, claiming they no longer rent uhuals (even though they had two vehicles in the lot). So again I call customer support, they then send me to Modesto, CA (an hour from martinez). So I go. I arrive to Modesto (not 3 hours after my reservation time) and they don't have a vehicle available. While I wasn't the most pleasant customer arriving at Modesto, I had reached my limit was ready to cancel my reservation and go home (it didn't help that they admitted to doing this to someone else the day before). Someone from Manteca calls me saying they have a truck there. After some curse words (sorry to whoever I spoke with on the phone), I felt assured the vehicle was in fact there and so I drove to Manteca. So 4 hours after my pickup time and many many miles later, I finally got a truck. This delayed my move drastically, leaving SF around 4pm, and arriving at my new destination at 1am. Thanks for the $50 reimbursement for my troubles.

Detasha the Uhaul manager of Manteca gave excellent customer service despite my horrible experience with uhaul. She corrected Uhauls horrible experience. Don't go to Uhaul Livermore they were not accommodating, and they hated their jobs. I had a guaranteed reservation for 2pm pickup for a 20' truck and transporter. When I got there after driving all the way from concord the rental was not available. They could not explain why and said it is what it is. Even though Ivan and Filepe called me a day before confirming my reservation. I was doing a one way from CA to Las Vegas. Ivan and there staff didn't show any concern, sympathy or comfort. They just wanted me out of their store. They did not want anything to do with my problem. I have never seen a bunch of people that worked for a company that didn't care about the customer and about the company they work for. I will not recommend Livermore Uhaul to anybody. They hate their jobs and very very poor customer service. They should look for another job if they don't like working at Uhaul. I also would like to mention Belinda from customer service that had the same attitude. She was quick to say that she will refund my money and I can go somewhere else. Moving is a very stressful thing to do. I was schedule to pick up my 20' truck and transporter on Sunday 7am at the concord location. I had a reservation for it. They keep on saying that there is no guarantee on reservations so what's the point of making a reservation. When people set a day or week to move that's a set date. When we pick a day to move everything is set in terms of movers, move out day, move in day, and everything leading to the day of the move. How can uhaul believe that renting a truck and transporter be flexible in terms of time. Naturally you will get a very frustrated and angry customer. I really had a horrible experience with uhaul and won't forget this. I would like a public apology from the staff from Livermore. They have no customer service skill and no sympathy to their customers. I feel that they hate their jobs because they did not care. I highly recommend Uhaul Manteca they were able to to get me on the road and I was able to get my transporter from Oakley the day after. Detasha from Manteca is a great manager and was able get me on the road. I think Detasha should be the overall manager for all these branches. She was able to make it work. Also if you are scheduled for a pickup and you get an email or text message or your uhaul app tells you to go to Oakland for your pick up. Call customer service right away before going to Oakland. Belinda from customers service said thats a default message but your rental is not there so beware....

Your online service needs a lot of work. Nothing against manteca location it was great even the night person came up to me and asked me if I needed anything that's what you call customer service but the online service where I tried to check out without getting in contact with anybody was horrible it just took forever and then the person couldn't get a hold of the person I was trying to get a hold of as like a verification code I think when I went inside show my ID it was simple.

The associates at the location charged me an additional $86.61 for my trip after informing me that my mileage was over the limit by 200 miles. I assured them that there was no way that was correct, as I was only driving from San Francisco (75 miles away). They let me know there was nothing they could do and that I would need to call customer service for assistance. This has been a DISAPPOINTING and UNSANITARY experience. I will be following up for a refund.

Person who looked over the truck was obviously new they tried charging us $27 for gas because they said it was on empty WHEN WE BROUGHT IT WITH 1/2 TANK they need more workers it took them 30min to help me 2 workers were ringing people out the person who helped me said they would refund me $43 but then I received an email hours later saying I owed them $27 absolutely ridiculous

I am so pleased, it is a well run service Uhaul . I have use them since my was a kid and my parents before me over 50 years and thing are 1000% better then when I first used you 1978 thank you . Now if wait times on the phone could be put on a call back that would be a huge help not being on hold !

Poor customer service, very rude employee and I made a reservation for a specific trailer size and when I went to pick up they did not have it and gave me a different size without telling me it was the wrong size. Will never use Uhaul services or rent ever again. Also $50 reservation is a false guarantee

I am not to sure I would rate my experience at a 1 to say the least. I reserved 17 ft. truck months ago & Friday, 9/11/20 (night before my move) U-Haul canceled my reservation without notice. I called customer serv. # and was told there is nothing you guys could do. the next morning (Saturday, 9/12/20) CONCORD U-Haul was busy and also told me the reservation i had, i would have to wait all day for another truck because they had NONE then referred me to citrus heights location. I then drive 1hour and 30minutes to CITRUS HEIGHTS which is come to find out not a U-Haul location at all but behind a gas station! The truck was 26ft long and filthy..no one cleaned it whatsoever. Now i ask if there was a trailer for my car i also reserved..again U-Haul told me NO. so i needed to travel to MANTECA, CA. & pick up the trailer for my car. So of course I had done so (now having to cancel my movers). I arrive at Manteca location they were nice enough to clean the U-Haul however the only trailer available was not yet back from the person who last rented it. I then waited 45 minutes for its return. At this point its is now 8pm by time I get back to Concord, CA. for my move. My girlfriend and I spent until 3am moving. NOW fast forwarding until today… It came time to me returning the equipment & truck to U-Haul. I do as I'm told and go to return the equipment & truck to a location (junk yard) where I am rushed because the guy has a damn dental appointment. He did not provide me with a receipt of any kind. I have lost much money/time on what could have been avoided. I can't express how much stress this whole thing has caused and would really like to speak with your headquarters to assure that this DOES NOT HAPPEN AGAIN or to the next person.

The truck was clean inside, but filthy outside. It made a strange buzzing noise & displayed a battery indicator light when you turned off the engine. The truck was functional though & got the job done, but where does the "air ride" come in to play? It rode like a lumber wagon and rattled everywhere. I don't think fragile cargo would survive.

The truck that we rented had horrible brakes and the engine light came on right after we rented it. We called the company and waited on hold for 30 minutes before I went to the internet and asked to assistance. The replay was that it shouldn't be a problem but if I break down somewhere they will come and get us help. I was VERY stressed about this but the truck did make it the 300 miles we used it. I really did feel that the truck was not safe though...

After renting a U-Haul van, I asked the young lady inside if any small 5x5 storage units were available for rent. She indicated that there were not, and took my contact information to be put onto a waiting list. A day or two later, I went to the uhaul.com website on a whim and checked for 5x5 availability, and it seemed there were 5x5 units available the whole time, so I went ahead and rented one online. After hours access works fine, but there really should be a note posted adjacent to the door stating that, after the access code is entered, the renter has to pull *hard* to open the door. Other than that, getting in/out is very easy.

Loads of issues mix up and very poor customer service. A barrage overkill in late notices. It is illegal to send a late notice 24 hrs after a late notice. I have late notices waking me up 1am on email. Plus in the mail. Plus daughter gets pre lien notices telling all of my business after 5hings were resolved. I am taking this up with higher ranks. Terrible worst storage experience. U haul is usually awesome. Ivdeel harrassed which is illegal.

Negative 5 stars. Rent got raised for no reason, and you have to pay extra to access your storage 24hrs a day. This is the worst place I have ever been. Horrible attitude from all employees.

Everything was great. Easy access in and out and security is top knotch. My only complaint is the hours. Closing at 7 makes it very hard to get there in time when you get off work at 5:30
