There were multiple issues at my move in. The front gate was open and inoperable so no security. There was debris outside and inside the unts. My assigned unit had a lock on it so i then had to go ask for help at the main uhaul office. Once there i got immediate assistance on removing the lock but the unit was full so another trip to get another unit. I asked for a unit at the main location as the dobbs st property was obviously not secured or maintained. I was told all available units were more expensive and i did not want to invest more considering my experience so far. The manager did go with me to the new unit to make sure it was open and unoccupied and gave me a lock so I appreciated he tried to resolve the situation. They were friendly, fun, helpful, and always stepped up to help me with storage needs & issues, trailer & truck rentals. The Bad - there are an inordinate amount of screws in the driveways of Dodd St. On one walk down the lower, inner drive, I picked up no less than 20 nails and screws. After my clean out, which required 4 trips, I had to have 2 screws removed from my truck tires - which had to happen a couple times in my year there. The Ugly - the water issues on the interior of the lower units needs to be addressed somehow. I had 2 units while there - my last unit had just a trickle. The first one was flooded the whole back half of the unit. As I understand, it's from cracks in the pavement in the street above. Problems like that don't go away. Still, the price per foot at this UHaul made it worthwhile to suffer some inconvenience - but I would still only put customers in those units who stack on pallets…

At move out, staff were deliberately unhelpful and, in fact, took steps to make the process difficult. They blocked my son's access to the storage facility to retrieve his lock by locking him out of the keypad entrance by placing his account in "default", this was within the 3 day grace period the Uhaul personnel said they honored. They left him waiting there at that gate saying someone would come down to let him in, the location had no personnel working there. After SEVERAL calls and 45 min waiting, somehow the gate just lifted. Did someone really need to come there or could they have lifted the gate and let him in to begin with at the beginning? Without our knowledge or informing us, they took it upon themselves to charge our credit card for an additional month. That's STEALING! Have reached out to UHaul corporate and this specific branch to address the situation with no resolution from the branch or corporate. They sure have taught me what they think about their customers. I will get my money back and UHaul won't see another dime from us.

Our apartment wasn't even 1200 sq ft, and there was no way we could fit all of our things so we had to upgrade our unit. They ran out of clickers for us to access the gate, so that was inconvenient. We had to wait 10 minutes for someone to help us because two of the workers who could actually help us check in were outside helping this man get his car off the trailer, even though there was a guy at the desk who couldn't help us but had knowledge in unloading the car for the other customer.

But, through quick thinking and action from the storage and truck team, we got completely unloaded and the truck turned in that night. ANTHONY BROWNI ordered an appliance hand truck, but it was not on the truck when I picked it up. Thankfully I was not charged for a hand truck. The clerk acted like my ability to adjust my move to make it work without the appliance dolly wasn't enough of an inconvenience for him to offer me some kind of concession. From his perspective, I wasn't out anything because I hadn't been charged. Please train your people to get an order right, and of it's not right, make it right. The bottom line is not my only consideration, and it should not be yours if you want to keep my business.

AWAIS BAJWATwo concerns: I transferred the pickup location online and the purchased moving supplies bib not. I had to go to the original pickup location and the staff person would not let me have them. I finally had to go to the U-Haul Center to get them. Secondly, the drop of center indicated on the contract was no longer in operation. So, I went down the street to another vender, who did not have my order number in his computer. I then had to call and check out by telephone. All in all, it was not a bad experience other than time consuming.
Jerry HardeeStaff was patient, friendly, and helpful. I didn't have my rental contract with me and was returning the trailer to a different lot. The staff took the time to find my account on-line and attempt to call the original lot to ensure it wasn't reserved. When they were unable to make contact with the other location, the manager assured me that she would accept the trailer and make sure I didn't receive a penalty fee. The temperature was 98 degrees and they both had to walk the lot to locate the trailer's ID#. I felt very well taken care of, which was very much appreciated after an 18 hour drive. Thanks Marietta Uhaul....you rock!

The 3rd location I went to (#61) Terrance was extremely helpful and did not stop working until I was completely satisfied. When returning the truck to the Dodd St. location they told me they didn't have a place for the truck and asked me again to go to #61. Dodd St. did finally accept the truck but I have never has service as poor as this with U-Haul before. I have used U-Haul services for the 5 moves I have made in the last 6 years but I may look elsewhere next time.
