Great staff; deficient management. I rented a truck here on Jan 6. When I opened the door I found the cab coated in ash, stinking of stale smoke, with a butt stamped out on the dashboard. Pretty gross. When I went inside and told the guy at the counter what I'd found he immediately did everything he could to make it right, including getting his own cleaning supplies out of his car and using them to clean up the cab of the truck. So, great response to rectify a problem that should not have occurred. The response speaks volumes about a conscientious employee whom U-Haul is fortunate to have on the payroll. The problem speaks volumes about failed management that doesn't have effective processes in place to ensure a quality product.

UHaul in New Rochelle was outstanding. We left our EXPass in the vehicle and didn't realize it until nearly closing time. We called and the attendant located the truck we returned and recovered our EZPass. He offered to put it in the safe until we were able to retrieve it. Beautiful facility with very helpful staff.

I rented a Cargo Van for 7 weeks picked it up front bumper was hit an and truck was some what clean no big deal because its a work truck. returned it 7 weeks later after 8'of snow fall we had and they said they had to charge me to wash the truck. the roads were full of salt and slash. I feel after renting a van for 7 weeks this was a Pedy charge and should have been waved will never rent from U-Haul again. ,

Training your employees to actually do their job correctly. Making sure equipment is working before customer leaves. Worst experience ever, the truck didn't work it blewout my tail light , the truck didn't have brake lights. I had to drive across the country. I had to order the part from Amazon and wait additional 2 days to leave. No reimbursement for anything. I was under the impression that uhaul is responsible for making sure everything is working before you leave their parking lot. I will never do business with uhaul again.

I went to three vehicles before going on my trip. Just because the first one was sitting on top of ice. The second one was covered with ice. The third was dirty from dashboard to floor. I had to show pictures that I took to the man who checked the vehicles when returned. I am sure you can see the details on my contract. I got to my destination late because of the extra time I had to spend at your location

Average because of poor customer service by Antonio. It seem he was only interested in charging the most cost he can find to customers renting trucks. It seem like he gets some kinda sales commission . He was rigid and unfriendly. Withholding info from customers to apply charges to there card unknowingly.

Let me list it, even though I am 100 % sure it will have no effect. with the truck squeezed between 2 other trucks, I was barely able to get in with the door as far opened as possible. The rear door was fully opened, and the interior was not swept well at all. I put an order online that included a dozen moving pads. They were not in the truck. With minimal difficulty, I maneuvered the truck out of the spot, as there was also a truck in front of the one I was renting. I returned the truck and told the rep that I got no pads and He said he would put the credit on my bill. The credit is not on my bill. Laughable service and when in need again, I probably will still use Uhaul, but not this location. I also used the app prior to today, and uploaded pics of my license, yet I had to do it again this morning. Typed this anyway, as I am sure with no remedy in the near future.

The facilities of the Uhaul I picked up were fine, however I had a horrible experience with Uhaul and will likely never be using it again. After booking my Uhaul for Saturday Nov. 28th, I was alerted a few days before the 28th that I would need to pick up my truck in New Rochelle. As this location was very difficult for me to get to, I tried calling numerous other Uhauls closer to me in lower manhattan to see if there were any trucks available. Each time I called a Uhaul location, I was placed on hold for 15-20 minutes, and then transferred at least 2-3 times before actually speaking to the correct scheduler who would quickly tell me that there were no uhauls available (information that should be easy for anyone to answer) but to try calling back closer to the date of my Uhaul pick up to check in again. Each time I called back leading up to the morning of the 28th, I had to go through the same process of speaking to 2-3 different people at each location and waiting for 30+ minutes on hold before being told there wasn't a uhaul available. Eventually, I had to settle for going to New Rochelle to pick up my Uhaul. This would have been fine, as I understand that there were no trucks closer to me available, but it was insane how many hours I wasted trying to get this information. The last straw of my experience with Uhaul, and the reason that I will not be using Uhaul again unless I am somewhat compensated for this experience, was that after explaining to numerous Uhaul reps that I would have to bring my car from New Rochelle, into Lower Manhattan, and then north of New Rochelle again - I was given an additional 30$ charge for additional miles used from my trip to Pittsfield MA. The additional miles used were equal to the miles that I had to drive from New Rochelle to Manhattan and then back again, which I clearly had to use as I was picking the Uhaul up from an inconvenient location, as I had told every Uhaul rep that I spoke to.

This facility is the most modern ,clean,secure,and has the easiest access to my unit. From just pulling up to the roll up doors and not having to get out of your car the roll up door opens automatically then once inside the bay after swiping in the dollys are there to load my property once in a huge elevator and dropped off at my floor I have access to my unit through a huge roll up door. All the while protected by cameras and a convenient two way intercom where you are in touch with the front desk in seconds. They also gave restrooms on every floor which is great. It is the best storage facility I ever rented from and I rented quite a few. But now all my storage needs will be done at this facility solely. I recommend this facility to everyone including people with disabilities such as myself.

When I picked up the truck for my move, the truck sounded bad, not in good condition. When I tried to return the truck at night, it was a headache. I spent more then 30 minutes trying to get ahold of someone because their app wasn't letting me take a picture. After 15 minutes on phone/ hold I finally spoke to someone who had a attitude and put me on hold again. Only nice person was the 2nd person/ representative I spoke to, she was helpful... informative and nice. Only nice person. Then just now was on hold for 15 minutes to try to make a payment at the New Rochelle, NY location and when the guy came on... his name is Ventura... I said to him but not in a bad or rude way... he was like can I help you... I said I was on hold for 15 minutes by the way... all he said was I know... I can see how long and how many minutes it's been... didn't apologize or nothing..!!! Are you serious..??? You cant even at least say sorry and you give a smart ass comment like that. You have a customer service job and this how you deal with customers, and again I wasn't even rude or mean about it like I could have been if I wanted to or I bet they deal with on daily basis with worse.And this not the 1st time had a rude representative from there/ that location talk to me in bad way. One day after I moved on Wednesday the 11th, I called to speak to someone about my bill, this young Spanish speaking guy/ kid was very rude in how he talked and was dealing with me, my wife was next to me and heard the whole conversation. I didn't want to speak to him no more and said would call back another day. I didn't deserve this, had a unit with them in New Rochelle for 1 year and 1/2 and have rented 2 trucks with them. Very disappointed and it's messed up. And it's funny because if for some reason I couldn't reach someone to make my payment then I was going to get a 30 $late fee, funny how that works. Will never use U-Haul again, rude customer service workers both at location and on phone. If you don't like or can't speak to customers well, then get another job. Again won't use you guys ever again.!!!!!!

Was told the gas is full tank, when van is taken out. I drove the van for 9 miles in town. When pumped the gas right before returning the car, it took 5gallons of gas. Runs only less than 2miles per gallon? Informed the rep on site, w/ gas receipt, and was told they can't do anything although this is the 2nd time that the rep personally encountered similar incident. Was told it'll be brought to the manager, but to date no action's been taken.

I was told by Uhaul customer service to return a trailer to this location after being stranded on the side of the road, and Uhaul was unable to find someone to come out and look at the trailer. On top of the 67 $I got charged from my original pickup location(NOT here ) I got charged an additional 200 $by this location. I called to speak to the manager after 3 tries I finally got him, He was unprofessional on the phone and said well take it up with your bank. I have AAA, and an Uncle who owns a towing company. Why would I pay an additional 200 $if either of these resources were available to me? Uhaul specifically told me to bring it to this location. NEVER told me I would have to pay any additional fees. I didn't authorize paying any extra and would have GLADLY not brought my business to this location. In addition I had to stay local since I had to be at work in 5 hours after the trailer was dropped off. Based on the reviews I read online this is common place with this location overcharging people (its as simple as a Google search) Very disappointed in this location. I have used Uhaul for over 20 years, and this was the worst experience I have ever had. Go to the location in Riverdale, Yonkers or another local location before going here.

One complaint is that one headlight was out on the truck we rented. They could not provide a replacement, which is not acceptable. Luckily the high beam worked, but the low beam did not. We drove with the high beams on since it was raining, but this could have been a problem in another situation.

We were pulling a trailer. We were charged 20 $to have the guy take the chains off. We needed assistance putting it on at another location. It'd be nice if U-Haul made that part of their service, since it's not a simple piece of equipment to navigate. That seems wholly important, since people get charged if the equipment is messed up.

The has reading upon the initial rental was not correct. This caused a slowdown in time to have the issue rectified and when I returned the rental the online system still showed the initial high reading. I figured this would happen so I added extra gas unnecessarily to ensure I was covered.

I'm a first time storage unit customer and I'm very happy I choose UHaul. The staff person that helped me, he's name is Christopher. He was knowledgeable, polite and very helpful. The storage location is very convenient to get to, well lit, and very clean. I especially like being able to drive into the storage building to unload my items. This will definitely come in handy during inclement weather. Great 1st time experience. Merci.

My only suggestion would be to have someone pull the trucks out of the lot for the customers. Getting out of the lot was TIGHT and would have been impossible if I was by myself!

Billed me 4,33 $ for tolls. I immediately paid it. I was emailed by collections of uhaul threatening to charge me more after I paid. I provided proof of payment and they continue to harass me. Will never use again. Such a hassle of something I paid right away to continuously be harassed and asked for proof. Managers don't call back, call times are long and they dont help you. They tell you send an email. I hope it's work losing a customer that psif 500 $for lack of your company charging people money they already paid. Do yourself a favor and rent from anywhere else if you don't want to be harassed for paid money.

I called a week prior (10/09) to my pick up for a pick up truck and my u-box (10/16). However, when I went to pick up my u-box and the pick up, nothing was prepped for my arrival. I waited over an hour at the uhaul location for the staff to prep my u-box for the rain, and the u-box was not on the trailer, and the truck and the u-box was in two different locations and not hooked up. This incredibly derailed my moving schedule in Manhattan as the move in schedules for buildings are pretty stringent. This experience was not the same as my previous interactions at the New Rochelle location as this was very disorganized.

Very helpful staff. Phone system can be frustrating. Staff who are helping customers in the store can't spend the time on the phone since it causes people in the store to wait. It woulsybe helpful to speak to a rep at the location and not corporate office which can cause extremely long wait times on the phine

Brought one way truck rental back at 4:55 pm on Sunday, 3/8/2020 and as if 9:30 am on Monday, 3/9/2020 the truck has not been checked in and no receipt has been emailed. Made multiple phone calls to customer service. Still waiting on phone call from Store manager. The unit was a "handicapped" unit with just a regular 36" door not a roll up "garage door" type. Made for storing items very difficult.

The only thing I would change is I would have the elevator door stay open about 15 seconds longer to allow one person to be able to load more than 1 cart into it.
