The problem isn't with the location, it was with the reservation system. It allowed me to reserve a trailer with a specific truck and when I got there, the system told her I couldn't use the truck to toe the trailer. I then had to pay way more money to rent a box van.Melissa S.

They had to cancel my reservation that I pre made because they online system wouldn't upload a picture of my license. Then when they re-did it , it set me an hour behind a schedule. Finally when I returned the truck I sat in it outside next to a sigh that says â€œplease wait in your vechile for us to come outâ€ only to get out after 15 minutes of writing to be told â€œyou should have just come inside,â€ when I was following the signs. Called to let woman know we'd be there at a certain time. We got there and she was locking up early and was very rude to us. Stated she wanted to go home early - even though she knew we'd be there 10 minutes later we'll before closing time. We even put extra gas in truck and left it cleaner than we got it. But she was upset she had to stay open to process return. Unbelievably unprofessional.Adam W.
Pulled up to the stop sign and waited about 5 min with no one in site to check in truck. I went inside and there were several employees behind the counter and no customers (other than me). Agent asked if I was picking up or turning in. I told her I was turning in. She asked for the keys and said I'll get an email receipt. I returned the truck at approximately 9:45am on Sat. It wasn't due until Monday. I have yet to receive a receipt, so I guess I'll be calling the location when they reopen to ensure my truck was checked in.Diana V.

One of the few companies I've ever dealt with that I would avidly recommend. I've rented the 6x12 enclosed trailer now 3 times over the last year. Aside from that I haven't done business with U HAUL for over 30 years. I was absolutely surprised by the people, service, equipment & technology throughout the rental experience. I had made a reservation at the Mount Pleasant St. location they took half a day to get my truck ready it was supposed to be ready at nine they called me at 12:30 ask them to switch the reservation to the next day they said fine I showed up the next day and they told me because I never showed up the day before for my reservation my reservation was canceled and changed to a 15 foot truck without my notice or consent and then was given no customer service or help in finding another 26 foot truck which was what my original reservation was for when I finally did find one at the church Street location I went and picked it up I dropped it back off two days later and tried to explain to the manager what happened she pretty much told me and my boyfriend we were a liar and that what we were saying doesn't make sense she made claims that she spoke to me on the phone when I never even called a U-Haul locations because I made all my reservations online the customer service between the Management and the employees was absolutely atrocious it caused move to take multiple days. Has the truck been ready on the day I showed up to get it I would've had many people to help me move but since they didn't have it ready till 12 o'clock I had to switch the day I moved and no longer had help my boyfriend had to take four extra days off of work to accommodate us moving by ourselves. We also ended up having to use the U-Haul for two days instead of one because we had no help moving due to U-Haul's inability to have the vehicle ready.ALBERT P.

Not being able to access storage facility that isn't staffed was always an issue. Having to go through the national telephone number to get local office was also a big issue and concern. There was no one at the office to check us in. We called customers service only to wait on the line for 44 minutes and then be told that there was someone there when the office was closed. Very poor service and terrible time getting help when needed. The delay totally ruined our travel time and next commitment. We were completely mislead. We reserved a 10 X 15 only to find out that none are available at that location. When we reserved they did not tell us that we had to go to a different location to do the paperwork and get the unit number and access code. The young man who waited on us at Mt. Pleasant st. I do suggest putting a ramp on the building entrance(s) so dolly can be rolled in/out of building. Currently you have to step down about 5" which is not convenient or safe for moving items in/out of building and may cause injury to people especially when moving large household items. Also something to hold the door open to make moving items from truck into building more efficient.LISA B. | Expérience générale

The entire staff needs to have better knowledge of the Ubox service you provide. My nightmare experience started with a click of a wrong button from employee , clicking long term storage instead of shipping it where I was moving too. This started a chain reaction of me being inconvenienced , waiting on hold multiple times for over an hour to reach someone, only to be told they don't know how to change that, or giving me quotes that is 300 % more then the original quote. In the end my Ubox was 6 days late, employees seemed to not care and I was the one in the middle of a move cross country where the stress is suppose to be taken away by doing this system, I had to worry about my stuff still sitting in New Bedford while I was already In Texas and no one could tell me a date it would ship as it changed from July 17, to 18, 19, 20, 21 ,22 and so on and so on. Overall very dissatisfied. Bad customer service from Uhaul.Daniel D.

The local movers in both locations, Virginia Beach and Massachusetts were wonderful. Both uhaul locations were a mess. For both places they gave the movers a hard time about getting our boxes and I had to call uhaul to resolve it. The New Bedford location was the worst. The close at 3pm. Because of them not wanting to release the boxes to the movers we were not going to be able to get all of our stuff. The woman I spoke with about the issue started off telling me I needed to verify my payment info. That's not a good way to start a customer call who's having an issue. She seemed like it was no big deal that we'd have to wait for the rest of our things. The local movers worked so hard and were somehow able to get us all of our belongings in one day. We will never use uhaul again because they made an already stressful military move even worse and the didn't seem to care at all.Katie D.

We are not using the facility. When we obtained the unit, we were not given instructions for the correct location. After the 3rd person, we found out the unit was at a totally different site. We went to the new site, only to find that we still could not get in…because we had STILL not received proper instructions! The front half of the rental including loading in FL was good. The back end in MA was abysmal. I scheduled pick up on Saturday 6/12 at noon and got a call to confirm, I arrived after an hour ride and was told they could not find the U-Boxes. Then I was told they were shipped to Maine (ME). I told the assistant manager I would pick them up the following Saturday (6/19). When I called to confirm pickup I was told I could not pick them up until Monday, but I work on Mondays so I arranged for pickup the next Saturday (6/26). During the week I was then assessed an $85 rental charge per U-Box. Extra fees charged on top of lost boxes and multiple trips to pickup left me less than impressed.Ralph B.
When I made the reservation it did not say I had to go to a different location to get the keys. When I went to get the keys I was told the units were still being built and were not available. After talking to the manager she sent someone to "do the walls" so that I could move in. When I got there the unit wasn't even numbered. I waited nearly an hour at the unit for the person who was supposed to be doing something with the walls to come and tape a paper sign with hand written number in it. I was so disappointed with the experience. Also, in regards to cleanliness, there was a pair of men's underwear and what appeared to be a sex toy as soon as you walk in on the ground. It was actually the most inconvenient storage process I've ever experienced. There was absolutely no employee on the premises. The email did not state that or which door to enter. My friend and I drove all around the building, in the rain, with our two SUV's circling around trying to find out how to unload. We had to drive to another UHaul location and the employee there didn't know what was going on either. She offered me the small box pods sitting outside, which isn't what I had paid for online nor would it fit any of my belongings. She finally called someone and got actual directions. I tried calling UHaul several times and there was an hour wait every single time just to get to a representative for UHaul and I couldn't get through. Telephone contact is horrendous! Never can reach a location, always forwarded to call centers. Wait time on hole often in excess of 1-2 hours! Calls often lost. Had to contact corporate directly numerous times snd often only the location could answer the questions. Worst customer service on contact of any vendor I have ever used! You can do so much better. The drop off at my original location went pretty well and communication was great. The driver did damage the power lines at my mother's house, and left large divots in the grass, which also happened last time I used U-Boxes. From the time my boxes were picked up and finally delivered to my new home across the country, communication was terrible. I was not informed of anything. My boxes shipped and arrived almost two weeks later than guaranteed, and I was not informed or made aware of this at any time, only by checking my online account. I tried to contact them numerous times. I got a 4 minute long voicemail from a â€œmanager on dutyâ€ basically saying that things happen and they can't always guarantee arrival on time, and told me to call somebody else to find out where my boxes were. I could never reach the person she told me to call. But, they shouldn't guarantee an arrival by a certain date, and state that they will offer a $50 refund per day that the boxes are late, if they aren't going to uphold that promise. I have tried to speak to someone about this and it is never the right person - I am always told to call someone else. It has been about a week since my boxes were delivered now, and I still have not been able to reach anyone. The fact is that I would have used a different service which was more reliable if I knew my boxes would have arrived so late and I would have been treated so poorly by everyone at this company.Christina M.
