We reserved a 26 foot truck for a move from Pittsburgh to Ohio. When we arrived, the truck the employee tried to give us had faulty power steering and the front bumper was practically hanging off. When the employee called the service manager, he could be heard on the other end of the phone saying, "What do you want me to do about it?" We ended up receiving a 20 foot truck instead, with a discount in mileage. The discount was appreciated, but we ended up having to make multiple trips due to the smaller truck size. Also the male employee, I believe his name was Grant, was dressed extremely unprofessionally. When we arrived he was coming out of the restroom in socks and what appeared to be boxer shorts with his Uhaul shirt and hat on. He did finally put on tennis shoes, but performed the entire transaction in boxer shorts. Overall the experience was horrible and everything was unprofessional from start to finish. Delivery was scheduled on 9/10 between 9 - 12. I never received any call that morning. I also never received a notification that it was going to be late. I called Uhaul at 1 pm to see if the order was coming and had to wait for almost an hour to talk to someone. When I finally did, they contacted the local Uhaul and they told me I was next but with no eta. I watched another 2 hours. The order finally arrived at 4 pm. I wasted a whole day waiting for it. The pickup was scheduled for 9/11 between 9 - 12 and it was never picked up. Just terrible customer service and obviously my time is not deemed important. I signed up for mobile pick-up and after the 20 minute process of getting the key box code, the key was not inside. I spent 20 minutes on hold with customer service and they said I had to return when the store was open to get the key, which was left on the counter inside. The truck was also filled with 15-20 items of trash littered throughout the cab and had a strong smell that someone had been smoking in it (as well as the empty cigarette containers).Jason F.

I could not have been treated better or given more help by Mike Allen and his team at Uhaul. I arrived without the proper wiring harness on my SUV to pull a trailer. Mike located the proper harness at another UHaul Store, had it pulled and waiting for me when I arrived. I went back to Mike's location and he installed the wiring in less than 5 minutes, and got me on my way. I thought I was going to have to cancel my trip, but Mike went above and beyond to resolve my problem, and got me on my way. That is the best customer service/experience I have had in a long time! The truck was filthy and damaged. It also needs an alignment! The truck had leaks and a lot of my boxes were wet and damaged from the rain. Pick up and drop off took forever because there was only one employee. I was charged extra fees that I wasn't charged last month on a different rental. Overall not pleased with this rental.LARA K.

You have great customer service. I needed a trailer at the last minute, and it was a no challenge for the store manager. 3 mins and all was done and I was relieved. ThanksNICHOLAS D.
We were informed by dispatch that the vehicle pick up was moved to a further location and delayed in time. This was not the underlying issue. Upon our arrival for the delayed 12 PM pick up we were informed that the previous driver was delayed again in returning the vehicle until 4 PM. While expressing our concerns the store associate was very kind and understanding of the situation. On the other hand, the store manager Christian was condescending, unempathetic, and sarcastic, making the situation worse. Christian had also mentioned that this situation happens at least twice a week. It is surprising to me that U-Haul finds this rate of failure acceptable. Between the continued delays and lack of customer service I would recommend U-Haul institute better protocols in ensuring customers receive your rentals on time. I would also recommend better customer service training for your teams to aid in better handling such situations in the future.Timothy O.

Christian was very knowledgable and helpful. He even answered the unrelated questions I had about my new U-Haul storage unit. The only other comment is my online rental included furniture pads, which were missing from my van rental. I realized after I arrived at my location, but didn't want to drive back and incur additional mileage costs. I called the number on my paperwork for the West View location and got routed into a phone tree; when I finally got to choose customer service, it told me there was a 47 minute wait. Is there no way to contact the rental location directly? Upon return, the woman working was understanding and took care of the furniture pad cost for me from the final bill.Cary H.
We rented 2 vans at separate times and then a 10ft truck to hall the furniture to college. Service at the West View U-haul was excellent. Thumbs up to the crew - Kier, Lindsay and the other fellows. Always very nice and helped with any questions. Also we scheduled the truck through the 1-800 number. The woman was very helpful and scheduled what we needed, figured out the best cost and additional items needed. We will use U-Haul again and recommend to friends!Ronald A.

Your website is super slow and times out regularly (not my internet or computer as I tried on several), it's almost impossible to reach anyone, your staff online is generally rude when you do reach someone, AND as if that's not enough, the on-ground "delivery" service in Florida was terrible. Lengthy process to check-in... ended up needing counter help due to long wait and lack of communication with online representative and return was even more lengthy and frustrating... was told in advance to "just park it in the return area and put the keys in the dropbox", but then ended up needing multiple pictures and information from vehicle which was no longer accessible without keys to turn on dashboard indicators. This should have been clearly advised IN ADVANCE, perhaps when checking in, to save time and frustration. Specific steps for arrival and entering storage area- entering code to disarm, opening/closing garage, breaking temporary 'lock' (zip-tie), entering code when leaving, etc... should be posted in garage area. Some things have instructions but nowhere could I find a complete checklist of what all I was supposed to do. **Also, the speed-bump in parking lot is unusually high and scraped the underside edge of passenger side/door area. Online pick-up & return was tedious/lengthy... Maybe advise in advance that the online pick-up process takes around (estimated time) to complete... and IN ADVANCE that the process for return requires keys and photos before departure- I had to use inside counter help (which was wonderful!!) because my online pick up was not going through. I inquired before leaving and was told that to return it I should just park it and put the keys in the dropbox... but then (after doing that) when I clicked through on a text message to complete my return, I had a whole bunch of hoops to jump through and it took another another 20 or 30 minutes of going back-and-forth to the truck, taking photos, and not being able to complete everything without still having the keys... Next time I'll know, but I think having a checklist for an online reservation pick-up and return- in advance- would be helpful so that a customer can allow extra time and know what to expect.Ingrid P.

I signed up for a 24/7 digital pickup, when i get there, it told me there was no reservation and I had to go into the store. Then I had to wait in line and lost some of my rental time. I also rented a utility dolly that was not included. Upon returning i was told there wasnt enough gas in the truck. I know there was. Having employees use a highlighter to mark the amount of gas on a piece of paper seems like a good way to piss off customers. Its a bad process.BRENDAN C.

I swapped out my unit for one closer to the loading bay. When I went to move in my code did not work. I tried using the call button on the alarm unit. It went to customer service instead of the office. It was pouring rain so I opted to walk through the facility to go back to the office. I went to exit through loading bay 1 & 2. I didn't notice but I'm guessing the roof leaks. I slipped and fell injuring my knee and back. At no time did the motion lights come on. I got up and proceeded to the office. I told them what happened and they didn't seem to concerned about it. I asked about my unit code not working and it turns out the order was never completed. So they redid the order and I was on my way. I went back later in the evening to unload and items. And my lock that I was given from the office wouldn't unlock. It was seized up and the key snapped off. So now. I can't get access to the items in my unit or put others in the unit.Timothy B. | Online Move In

Saturday was the only issue I've had at this facility...the 2 girls working were rude , with 1 having a panic attack in front of us. Contractors were painting the pavement and refused entry to our unit tho NOTHING was mentioned the previous day when reserving a truck for the specific purpose of cleaning it out! We moved the cones to gain entry and empty my unit. The girls were being bombarded with complaints and I get that, but neither should be in the customer service industry with how they talked about the customers when they walked away irate...can't take the heat, get outta the kitchen...poor company representation from the get go Saturday...tho I cannot say 1 bad thing about Josh who always went above and beyond...especially while I was having banking issues and was late 2 months...aside from Saturday, my experience was pleasant. I have no complaints about the Westveiw Location. My complaint was where I picked up the truck in DC . I got there and my 15 ft truck was not available. I told them I drove all the way from Pittsburgh and needed a truck to pickup furniture. I finally got a 10 ft truck a hour later. I was late for my pickup for the furniture and almost missed the pickup, That made the trip very aggravating. I asked for 24hour access to drop off music equipment after playing shows. I tried 3 different keypads at approximately 1:28 am 4/24 and It tells me access denied. So I had to lug equipment down 2 flights of stairs and woke my kids and neighbors. i was very impressed with josh at west view, pa storage..very helpful,clean facility,and was very respectful, and could tell he understood my needs..although i made reservations a month in advance for a 20 foot uhaul and a trailer to pull my car 1400 mile from austin to pittsburgh..i was told to come to rundberg austin texas location to pick up truck and trailer, and then was told i needed to go 30 miles out of my wayto pick up vehicle, which set us back 6 hrs, so turned out i had to stay an extra night in a hotel..and the person i spoke to at rundberg austin was not polite, and i almost lost my kool on him, but remained calm..don't know if i will use uhaul againfor transporting any of my items..storage on the other hand yes will continue to use uhaul store at west view pa location..i was told by customer service that i would be compensated for my incovience, but never heard back from anyone..thank youRAYMOND S. | Premières impressions
