The technician failed to lock down the trailer hitch to my truck. I was very lucky that I made it as far as I did and had pulled into my intended site at a very low speed, hit a bump and the trailer popped off. Luckily no damage to my truck or U-Haul's trailer.Glen R.

We left the uhaul lock on the back of the truck. Shortly there after I got a phone saying that we left our lock on the back of the truck and I would be charged to have it removed. The drop off location left a phone number for me to call which redirected to the uhaul switch board and I sat on hold for another 30 minutes. What uhaul drop off location has never seen a uhaul lock? The truck was decent but the overall experience not for good.David K.

Everyone there was great but Megan at the location and the gentleman at the scheduling office in Dallas were particularly helpful exceptional. The gentleman at the scheduling office last name began with an S and his first name might have been Josh. Those two people went out of their way to help me reschedule my pick up, Mr. S helping me pick up my trucks a day early and picking up the trailers the next day. He made it very easy and squashed my panic when I had been told that I wouldn't know when or where to pick up the equipment until 6pm the day before I needed than. My reservation was for 8am and I had paid helpers coming at 10am, I could not have successfully moved if I didn't have the equipment when the helpers arrive. Megan was very professional and super friendly when I noticed that the first truck I had been assigned was not operating optimally. That truck was very old and the seat had been recovered and was very uncomfortable . Also the A. c. Was marginal at best. Megan recognized that those issues would ruin my long drive and quickly redid the paperwork to get me an appropriate vehicle. Their efforts will make me go back to U-Haul again for my next move.RICHARD T.

I had to find Someone to check in equipment. When I did they were nice and told me just to leave keys in vehicle and they would send receipt in email. So it wasn't bad just not there unless I asked for the help.CYNTHIA D.

Overall my experience was great. The young ladies at the counter went above and beyond to help me and make sure that I got what I needed. However, I would've appreciated the interior of the pick-up truck that I rented to have been detailed/wiped-down before I rented it. It was quite dirty. Trailer was not clean. Online check in was worthless, still waited 20 mins at the counter to pick up trailer. I was right behind two Uhaul mechanics. Customers first, .... Pretty darn funny. Uhaul is not the only choice. Your service dreams go somewhere else.George L.

I arrived with 100 % of my paperwork completed and found 20+ people in front of me and went to the older agent and asked if there was a key only line. She told me the phone app was the only way to avoid the line, even though I had a hard copy of the rental agreement in hand. I then downloaded the app to my phone and it found my record but the link was not active. Your understaffing cost me far in my mover wages just standing around for an hour waiting for me to rent the truck than the rental. Your customer service is frustrating and extremely poor and you don't even seem to care. I would just be kidding myself if I expected a response from you! George McElweeGeorge M.

The staff did not explain that a 10x15 is actually 2 units & I was mis-informed about a discount that was not given to me. On 1 of the units, the staff couldn't even open the door because it wasn't working properly. Asked staff to get it fixed before we use it. On the 5x10, the door stuck & my husband had to crawl under the door to open it, so it could shut properly. Then there was water in 2 different hallways from the leaky roof. Not a good situation at all & very disappointing, since this is one of the largest U-haul facilities near by. Also ramps are too small & inconvenient. The storage unit I requested was not the same as I requested. There was a huge floor length cylinder that took up valuable space. I couldn't even put the amount I needed to (as I legit measured) and had to store stuff in my (new) apartment storage area. When I initially got set up with this storage unit, I thought I was set up on auto-debit but was not. Got charged a late fee and was to be refunded the 15 $late fee. It never happened, I spent a good month trying to connect with someone and never got any response. No reply to my emails from the manager of the location, calls to the Director of Ops routed from the helpdesk. Sad experience from a big company like UHaul. I was doing a quick move and needed short term storage. We were able to take advantage of the free month of storage in order to put some items in a staging area while doing a move. It worked out extremely well for our needs. Storage Manager consistently attempted to up-sale the transaction. Repeatedly tried to enforce policies without proof. She added insurance and a padlock without my acknowledgment. When I questioned it, she stated it was policy in order to get the FREE month of storage but was unable to provide said proof. She was very rude. My unit is clear across the building away from elevator access. I walk pass dozens of empty "Customer Ready" units. There is a lot of storage units to pick from much cheaper, However if I did not have billing issues it was clean and something I would have recommended. When I signed up and paid for my storage unit, the sales associate never told me I needed an access code or gave me an access card. Therefore, when we showed up at 9p with a truckload to put in the Unit, we were not able to get in! I had hired movers to help, so now have to pay them again to come a second time. I cleaned my unit out 2 days before my rent was due. I called the 24th and 25th to cancel my account. I was on hold for 30 minutes each time and no one ever answered. I then received a call from someone at UHaul saying that they noticed my unit was empty. They wanted to confirm that I had moved out and no longer needed the unit. I confirmed. I then received a late notice that I owe for the monthly rent PLUS a late fee. I am not paying this. My account needs to be resolved. The clerk at West McKinney location told me Plano location would have a 10 x 20 climate control space, when I arrived they were told no "they do not have a 10x 20 space so I had to take 2 10 x 10 spaces, therefore had to buy 2 locks instead of 1. The charges for 2 spaces were more than for 1 10 x 20 unit. They should have honored the price for a 10 x 20 unit. Originally the truck and trailer would have to be returned to the West McKinney location, very inconvenient, but after speaking another with attendant, Anna, said that "no" I do not have to West McKinney location. She was the most helpful and professional in all the attendants I was in contact during this 2 day ordeal. It was a nightmare during the West McKinney location and would never go back there. I came back to the facility after hours with my trailer that i rented to unload my stuff into my storage unit and neither the card or access code would allow me entry into the building. The lady who checked us out said they have been having issues with the alarm in the building but never mentioned not being able to open the door once office hours where over. I always choose this location it's my favorite. They are always friendly and helpful. The truck was somewhat dirty, but I already prepared to wipe it down with wipes and the wipes were very dirty steering wheel and drivers seat. I also wore gloves to ensure safety with the virus I think the trucks need to be wiped down on the inside for safety. The signal light did not work and the truck needed an alignment. Did not discover until I had gotten on the highway and had a timeline to get to my destination or I would have returned. I reported These concerns upon return. Might want to check the truck out more thoroughly prior to rentals. The storage unit was also dirty. Had a few issues. Biggest I had was that I set up auto pay, and TWICE I got nasty notices in the mail saying I had missed my payment and threatened with lockout. I set up auto pay when I first got the unit, again after the first error, and AGAIN after the 2nd error. So 3rd time was the charm I guess. Also got the feeling the staff was quite nosey. Almost everytime I went to my unit a staff member showed up. My unit was on the 2nd floor, and one time I went to drop off some heavy furniture. Elevator wasnt working so I called the front office. The guy was pretty rude and said "you can use the stairs". Try moving a large recliner up those stairs by yourself. Likely wont use them again should I ever need to.Nicky R. | Expérience générale
