I rented a 15' truck which was delivered to me with the "low fuel" light on and gauge on "E" (empty) - I had no idea if I would make it to a gas station. Yet, my rental agreement stated I needed to return the truck with at least 1/4 tank full. The key for the provided padlock did not work/fit. Cab smelled like pot smoke. Driver's side sun visor was hanging by a single mount and fell down at every bump causing a vision impairment - had to duct tape it up. The truck took at least three attempts to start. The steering was extremely loose and the truck pulled to the right. Brakes were loose causing every stop to begin with barely slowing and ending with a steep and sudden halt. Engine was so loud that I could not hear my son riding in the passenger seat. Suspension was non-existent and even the smallest bump caused the back tires to jump (I was followed by my family and they could not believe that even go 15MPH the back tires jumped at any bump. Could not go faster than 64MPH without the drive shaft making a high pitched clanging noise. The entire experience being in and driving that truck felt like any minute we would either crash or be stranded. Horrible - should adjust the advertising which shows a nice clean truck to the junk I paid more than $450 to drive.

Poor phone service very slow can take up to two hours to respond . Long slow moving lines. The online service doesn't work. Can't get a better location big enough for everything. May need more workers.

It's not fair that I was leaving to move to Georgia I had the storage unit in Detroit for not even 7 days and they charged me a whole $160 or 70 bucks did not try to give money back on time for being in the unit or anything I believe I should get a refund of some type

I had a reservation they said they didn't have a truck, that the person did not return the truck I needed, they were very unconcern whether I get one or not, they gave me $50 on my card and on that day Sunday, the price $65 they also gave me an appointment for Monday morning and charged my card $93 and some change and when I turned the truck in on time they charge had went up to $147. And some change, I was very upset at how they're treated me as a a customer ... my greatest concern was I had a crew on Sunday to help me move, I lost half the crew on Monday, because they had to work and I had to pay my help

I had to rent here because my truck at 7Mile and Livernois had a broken windshield. Tenicia at 7Mile was amazing. She went all out to find a replacement. And she kept my discount in place. I would work with her again anytime. 5stars!!!!

I went to 4 different locations after having a reservation. Each location pushed me to a new location just to end up with a 12 foot trailer rather than a 15 foot truck. PLEASE stop overbooking, as every location I went to said that they were double booked and wrong vehicles / equipment was given.

All staff should have access to avaistirage units and trucks. I lost out to an online reservation because the staff member informed me that he didn't have access. I had to wait for the other member return from the store. The 24 hour access was not available.

The customer service that helped me was horrible. She was rude and made me feel like I was a nuisance. She talked with her elbow on the desk and her hand over her mouth. When I asked her to repeat she got defensive and Saturn with me. She would not help me redeem a gift Uhaul gift card. She said she did not know how. I asked if she would get help and said no one could help. She handed me the keys and said it's out there. No assistance on where “out there is”. Terrible, terrible, terrible

U-Haul at 19990 Telegraph Rd was fine. Corporate U-Haul was terrible. They said no JH was available at my preferred pick-up location. And said I could get a JH at 19990 Telegraph Rd. I get there, and they say they do not have one available. That Corp U-Haul should not have sent me there. However, the GM there was very understanding and accommodating. She provided a 20 ft truck, but I had to bring it back. It could not be a one-way trip as expected. She did give a price break to help make up for the issue. So, the Telegraph location was fine. But Corp was terrible.

We rented from farm and feed in Novi Michigan when we got there the trailer lights did not work we checked it to another vehicle and the lights did not work so to say the least it put us two hours behind because then we had to go back and try to find another place to rent from and then drive another half an hour there in half an hour back to get the trailer. Then we had to try to get it loaded at 8 PM at night. the place we got it from and dropped it off didn't excellent job but I'm not happy with the one in Novi that we had to run around and try to find another trailer not acceptable

I am very upset with the service I received from Uhaul and it's third party movers. First off, I had to project manage the entire process calling various u haul locations to make sure they received the box, had the box ready for pickup, confirm the box location matched what the third party movers were paid to do. I spent a lot of time doing this and reaching out to "traffic" in various cities. Second, the movers in both Detroit and DC were not careful with my items. They girded me on how busy they were and rushed through the moving process. One of my wooden tables now has several marks where the wooden paneling is totally taken off and it's ruined. In Detroit, my box was taken or given to another customer and then the movers had to wait for it to be returned to the Uhaul store. For nearly $2 400 I am very disappointed in the service.

The after hour return: I returned the truck after the location was closed and had to used the after hour return. I was unable to sign into the online return website. It kept stating unable to find my order with the confirmation number or by my name. So, I was charged $20 returned fee because it was returned the next day by the employee.

My reservation was at 11am however I arrived around 1125 am and was told by the young female at the desk my reservation had been canceled and all the pickup trucks had been reserved. I inquired on a 15' truck also none of those were available only the bigger more expensive trucks. I asked her about availability for the next day for pickup trucks; was told they're available and she took it upon herself to make me a reservation that I didn't ask her to do. As a result I received a text to check in for the reservation which prompted me to try for another reservation for the same day and truck while I was still on the premises. It worked! I got a reservation number went back in told the young girl and her response was I don't see how because they're not available. I had to call customer service because Uhaul guaranteed reservation or get $50 so I was leaving with one or the other. Customer service tried calling the store but the young female worker disappeared. Finally a different worker arrived for her shift confirmed my reservation with customer service and I got the pickup truck. I don't know if the young girl was lazy and didn't want to work but in any event her behavior was nonchalant, rude, deceptive and ignorant. She made Uhaul look bad and may need training or a new job!

I had to wait in line for over an hour. I arrived at 6:45 p.m. for a 7pm pick up and did not leave until 7:55 p.m. I should have had my drop off extended from 7pm to 8 pm since I did not take possession of the rental until almost 8 pm. Was that fair to me?

I will never come back to this location. The lack of professionalism is astounding. The first time I used them my experience wasn't good but I decided to give it another try and I really wish I hadn't. It took me about an hour and a half to finally get my truck and hit the road. I had to wait in line twice for about 20 to 30 minutes each. When I get up to the clerk she proceeds to get on her personal phone and make a call and then walk away from me and never acknowledge the fact that I'm in front of her. She finally comes back takes my info and tells me I'm late picking up the truck. I told her I was not as I have been waiting in line for almost half an hour. I get the truck only to find that it wasn't in good working order. So I had to go back inside and get another truck. When I come outside of the building to get the second truck I see what looks like an associate trying to aggressively goat another guy into a fight. When I go to leave the parking lot I noticed that the cops have showed up. There were so many other things that could of gone better but didn't. I highly recommend no one to use this location.

The truck had not been, “Professionally Cleaned,” especially with COVID still being an issue, this is important. I was disappointed to find out that a Dolly had not been loaded on the truck!!! When I called I was told it was my responsibility to make sure I had everything before I pulled off!!! She had to take the fee off but that made the job harder and more time consuming!!

When I arrived there was a long line to pickup equipment with only one staff working. My truck had a check engine light on and a low tire pressure warning. The staff advised me to “ not worry about it”.????

Scheduled pick up through website/corporate. Called to confirm my reservation the day of pick-up - when I got to the U-haul facility. They stated they didn't have a trailer for me and I was in the system as a "float". After about 15 minutes or so, they were able to find a trailer. I did the on-line check in process which potentially saved me a few minutes. The place was very busy and took about 45 minutes to pick up the trailer. The drop off process was very quick.

Renting this Uhaul was an absolute nightmare. From scheduling to pick up, I always got completely different answers. The employees at the store kept insisting that they don't have a truck, but scheduling kept insisting that they did. I kept having to go back and forth. At one point, an employee at the location said that we can try getting a truck from a different location in town. We called the location and couldn't get an answer. I called scheduling back and they sent me back to the same location that kept saying they had no trucks for us. We left and came back three times before finally getting a truck. Mind you, I made this reservation two days prior to pick up. We were scheduled to pick up at noon and got our truck around 4-5 PM. The scheduler and the employee told two different stories; the scheduler told us that the employees on site misplaced the keys, and the employee was telling us that a truck was being sent from another location. So someone was lying to cover their own behind. We ordered a dolly and were charged for a dolly, but we didn't receive one. Thankfully the manager at the drop off location didn't charge us for not having it. There was no gas in the tank, we had to stop and get gas when we were already hours behind moving out of state. This whole experience has been awful and I would highly recommend renting a truck elsewhere.

The back of the truck was not cleaned out. I know that someone is responsible for that But it's not being done on a regular basis. Also the gas gage is never where they say it is. I rent several trucks a month and these are common.

Not give away someone's reservation on the day they're supposed to move. Not have somebody drive all over the place looking for a truck and a vehicle car hauler in separate locations and at the least try to accommodate your customers that have been using U-Haul for years. The service that I got from U-Haul I would never use this company again

There was a little confusion on the credit card situation. By the time I park the truck and came inside to change cards they had already built the original card. And I told them beforehand I would be bringing in the business credit card

I appreciated the storage unit, cleaned of the facility. This particular location has the most unpleasant, uneducated in customer service skills dealing directly with a customer I have ever experienced from U-Haul. The midage female that works in customer service has been rude and displayed very Lazy and no concern for customer care one too many times for me, she was the reason for my departure and the reason I will let others know that location don't show kindness towards their customers, not only have she show nasty disposition towards me, but I have heard others told about her Ghetto character and yet she still remain working at U-Haul and I'm sure you know who she is!!! So do you really care about the customer care or is this just routine rating? The location in Redford has Outstanding customer service and they were all young men!!! I would like to think a female would care more about how she come across but not so@ U-Haul on Telegraph between 7and 8ml

Angela the manager is the greatest asset to the uhaul organization and she has trained and maintained a great crew of workers as well and i will highly recommend them to any establishment not only in the inner city but worldwide and considering i previously own 2 prominent businesses myself she has taught a lot that i have taken in and it has increased my revenue in great numbers 👌
