Great ratings from me but we were almost unhappy customers. Initially, the lights connection was not working between my truck and the trailer. I was told I could not rent the trailer and their guy was off that day that could troubleshoot. I had to contact 3 trailer places but they were too busy. I came back to cancel but Michael (I believe) wanted to take a look. Long story short he only pressed the connection harder together and the lights worked. I was so grateful for Michael and sorry I was 2 hrs late because Initially the obvious action was not taken to confirm the lights did actually work.MYRON J.

I was not happy. I rented a truck and wanted to redeem my free month of storage that you get with a truck rental but the associate said that I had to get the truck from their location specifically in order to do that. I got the truck from somewhere local and expected to be able to have a free month of storage. When I called and talked to an associate nothing was mentioned about having to get the truck from a specific location and nothing was mentioned on the website. 26' Uhaul truck has a steering alignment issue. The wheel was cocked Â¼ turn to the left and had a really bad wobble and wheel vibration driving down the road. I had a uHaul roadside mechanic come to my house before the trip but he was not able to fix it. He said it needed a tire alignment but uHaul did not seem to care. I then drove the truck 2000+ miles with a bad vibration and a constant chatter in the steering wheel which reverberated through the cab. I was a terrible riding truck and was not enjoyable to drive. I'd like to see this location take better care of the vehicles to better serve the customer. I paid nearly $3 000 for this rental and it was a very bad truck.Chad J.
My only complaint is I got charged for mileage even though I put $120 worth of fuel in the truck. I got it at half tank and returned it nearly full. Seems like a refund for a portion of fuel would be issued.Gregory A.

My only comment to the gentleman checking in my truck was that I told him the driver's door was really hard to fully shut--he commented that yes, you have to pull it very hard to shut it! In what has been one big mess of a move, U-Haul is the company that was able to get me a truck and a in a pinch, a trailer in the last hours and was very, very flexible when I realized my storage needs were greater than I had originally planned. The location is immaculately clean, the air conditioner is amazing and does an excellent job at climate control. The staff is always helpful and professional. The manager knows what she is doing and is amazing. My only complaint is that for a facility that is supposed to have 24 hr access to a unit I'm paying for, U-Haul wants to charge me additional fees to have actual 24 hr access. That seems like a con. The QR code posted to get more information about 24 hr access leads to a dead web link. The office hours are posted. The facility "open hours" are not posted. I only found out what the facility hours were after having to call the security company to get access to the building because my access card wasn't working after I got locked out mid move and was unable to at least lock up my unit. I'd have to wait 7 hrs to be able to get back in. Some customers work odd hours, and can only do their moving at night. And with our current heat wave, it's actually preferable. If I start moving things in and out during "open hours", I can be locked out of my unit and the building in the middle of my move the moment I walk out the door to put something in my car after 10:01 pm. Or set off alarms while inside the building and have the police called because I can't turn it off by just swiping my card. That's an awkward situation that doesn't need to happen. As long as I have my access card or code, there should be no restrictions on me accessing my unit for the full 24 hrs like ANY OTHER storage company. The building doesn't "close" right when the office closes. While I appreciate those "extended access hours", Restricting those hours of access doesn't make a lot of sense, especially with all the cameras and the heavy duty security system already in place. Wanting to charge extra for that access, without offering the ability to even choose to pay for that option online outside of office hours like what is already available when starting a unit rental contract on the U-Haul website, seems like poor planning. Making that option possible will save existing customers a lot of headaches.Josh A. | Expérience générale

Showed up and parked the truck in the lot and walked inside; the staff had me walk back outside and park it in another place; walked back inside and waited for help; then we walked back outside and was asked many irrelevant questions; charged extra money for driving 5 extra miles; staff was confused by trailer that corporate had me tow for free; if I decide to rent again I'll drop off after hours so I don't deal with this time wasting; also don't appreciate being nickeled and dimed for five extra miles.Michael D.

The Manager of this location is the rudest person I have ever dealt with. She talked very rude and disrespectful to my wife who had called about a refund that was owed to us and was met with anger and disrespect and then told well you tried to steal our truck which was absolutely not the case. In looking at the low rating you guys have for this location I would suggest doing something about this manager who has no customer service skills before she hurts your business even more than she haskyle D.

The lady behind the counter that "helped" me was a b!tch. You could tell she didn't want to be there. She was rude and would talk over me when I would try and answer her questions. All I had to do was get the key to the truck from her and she made it the most frustrating and difficult experience.Andrea W.

My experience was absolutely amazing! I walked in frustrated and left relieved! Lonnie I believe is his name was amazing! He made sure he checked every availability he possibly had. At first the trucks were all reserved . But I think he seen the severity of me needing a truck and boy obit did he find a truck for me! I was thurlly impressed with Lonnie and I left very satisfied! My overall experience was great. My only suggestion is that when you move out and don't have time to go to the office to close out your unit, to leave your storage door open so they know you have checked out and it is vacant. I had two. One with a swinging door and the other with a roll up door. I pulled the roller door down when I vacated. Even though the locks were removed they only checked me out of the unit with the swinging door. That one closed out flawlessly. The other, they didn't easily see it so I had to call and go into the office to ensure that it was closed out. Had I left the door open I'm sure it would have been like the other unit. They sent me a text to ask if I moved out, which I responded yes, and emailed me a close out receipt. The other they didn't do it was clear that they did not know. The customer service people are very abrupt and rude. I asked about the afterhours check in and was told it was the same process as I did the following day when I rented a uhaul truck from the Midvale location. That was all the information I was given. I did the exact same steps, log in from the uhaul parking lot when I returned the truck and entered in the required information for the truck return. The next day I was charged the 20 service fee. When I asked why they said it was because it showed I checked in less than a mile from the uhaul place. I explained that I was in the parking lot when I checked in. I was put on hold for about 5 minutes and then the person got back on the phone and told me I was a liar and ai had no way to prove it. He also proceeded to tell me that I was required to upload a screen shot of the truck, the parking lot, the mileage and the gas tank after I checked in. I was not given this option on the check in app nor was I required by the other uhaul places I rented from to do this step the day before. I had no problems doing the after hours check in and was not charged the fee. I would never rent from this place again. Not so much upset about the fee as I am about the rude way I was treated after spending 400 dollars on moving trucks in 2 days from this place and being called a liar on the phone. Seriously, gps saying I was less than a mile away and it couldn't be a internet service location error and not me lying about my location? I even had a receipt from the Maverik down the street where I put gas in the truck just before I checked in. At least be polite to your customers even if you can't take off the fee. I have worked 20 years in customer relations and would never treat anyone the way I was treated at this place.Sarah F.
Wish I could have gotten a larger unit but oh well. Great staff. A few times I was loading unloading by myself but there was not a courtesy cart to be found anywhere!? Unfortunate but it be like that sometimes. Overall great place in my experience. Not much I'd change (I can't think of anything rn) maybe making sure the outside loading area is free of the massive amount of bird poop that it was covered in. To whom it may concern Regarding my recent uhaul truck rental. I would like to submit a complaint. I'm very displeased with the customer service and charges to my recent rental. For the following reasons: uhaul.com/share did not work for me, to submit the truck after hours. A very unsuccessful, non-user friendly experience. Calling your 800 number support indicated I was on a 60 minute wait time. That is unacceptable for after hours support. After attempting to figure out how to check in the truck after hours for 40 min, I gave up and put the key in the drop box. My emailed receipt indicated a charge of ~$100 more than the initial contract. ~$331 vs $234. Unacceptable. I was charged for a 2 day rental. I used 1 day rental with the after hours checkin. Unacceptable. I was charged $28 Safe move charge for 2 days instead of $14 for 1 day move. Unacceptable. I was charged $10 for furniture pads instead of $5. Unacceptable. I was charged $14 for the utility dolly. I did not use it, but had to remove it from the truck inorder to make space for my moving items. Unacceptable. I expected only an additional $20 charge for dropping off the key and letting the uhaul staff, do the checkin details from the after hours dropoff. My opinion is this is just an additional uhaul charge to make extra money. This is work that your staff normally provides for no charge when I checkin a truck or trailer during regular hours. Why am I charged for this, regardless of when the rental is returned? This is your responsibility. I have been a loyal and frequent user of uhaul equipment rental. This recent experience has me question your customer service practices. If my continued customer loyalty is valued, I would like to speak further about this incident with management and remove those extra daily charges. If my loyalty doesn't matter, then I can not recommend your service to my friends and associates. I will warn them about some of these customer service practices. Thank you for considering my letter. The poor rating is no reflection on the employees at the Odgen facility. It is because of Uhaul's policies & procedures. I already tried to resolve these issues at corporate level. I would like to thank the staff at the Odgen facility for helping me load my Uhaul when my moving help didn't show up. The people at the counter were always helpful and courteous. My rating is because of this: I do have 2 issues with Uhaul and why I would not ever rent from them again. I was discouraged when I rented my storage shed & told that I would be getting a military discount after the first month then it wasn't honored. I called corporate and they backed up the store manager after you state that you support our military. Doesn't seem that way to me. Also, to pay for a truck for 4 days and have it back in less than 24 hrs & receive no kind of refund for the unused days is messed up. Uhaul is going to immediately re-rent that truck out and make even more money off of it. I can see being charged for the actual number of days you have it + a one way fee. I was not clear on where my room was, or how to check in. I asked a girl at the front desk, who though helpful, was very quick to point out how "easy things were" and "most people dont have to ask". Ultimately, I was able to access my room, and after reading a sign board, understand how the keypad system worked. My only reason for not recommending to a friend is that the area of Ogden can get a little strange, I am a single female, often I would be uncomfortable walking to my unit if there were folks gathered outside around the garbage cans and such. I also think it would be great if there was a way to latch the door from the inside while you are in your unit, I understand that you don't want it locked from the inside, but while I was in The storage unit for whatever reason I was nervous. I had my unit locked out when payment had been made and so it was frustrating. I wish thee hour to access units were extended. There were a few times I needed to get in my storage and I couldnt cause I needed a blue key to unlock. Yesterday Which was the 26th. I was supposed to rent a $19,95 truck. My nephew just asked of we could return somewhere in Salt Lake. Then she proceeded to be very rude and said no im not letting you drop it back off somewhere else. He Was just asking. Then I asked how much it would be and she told me. I didn't have that much on my card and I so I took out cash and she very ignorantly told us I told her twice we didnt take cash. So she said have a nice day. But her demeanor was very hostile and rude my nephew said I was going to pay with my card and have me give him my cash. It was the manager on 32nd and Wall. They tell you can that you can access your storage till 10 but really it's till 5 then the qr code for extended hours doesn't work and when you try to call the general manager she'll just ignore your calls till she blocks you and when you let her know you're going to file a complaint she'll evict you even if you just paid rent 5 days ago and she won't give you a refund but she will put a past due payment lock on your unit even though it's up to date worse experience I've ever had and I'll be sure to let everyone I know about how awful it was and how poorly Sierra Kennedy does her jobFelipe G. | Expérience générale

I am so grateful for the help from the manager at the Ogden facility on Wall avenue! She helped me transfer my storage unit to a bigger unit and that was an enormous stress for me. I received the absolute worst service from Erik Simmons. The man was rolling his eyes and shrugging his shoulders and being indignant towards me despite being a returning paying customer. Mr. Simmons and I were in disagreement about existing damage to a rental truck which he was trying to place blame on me. When I asked to see a picture of the truck prior to me renting it , Mr. Simmons showed me a picture of a completely different truck ! How do I know ? Because the truck I rented has a serial number painted on the truck just above the drivers seat. Mr. Simmons told me the picture was taken on June 18th , 2021. However there was no serial number on the truck he showed me despite claiming the truck had been at that facility for 3 or more years now. I asked Mr. Simmons for contact information and how to begin the process to dispute the damage, he responded by calling the police and describing me as a threatening black man with gold chains and tattoos ! When the cops arrived , they told me I had every right to try to collect that information. Being reduced to negative stereotypical attributes and having the cops called on me for wanting a corporate email is not the service I was looking to receive from Store #720055marcel p. | Expérience générale
