There was no windshield washer fluid in the cargo van and tge windshield was dirty. When it began to rain, the dirt smudged and I could not wash it off. So I had to pull into a gas station to clean tge windshield. The side mirrors were dirty, which made it extremely hard to use them as well. My contract was never emailed to me, so when I tried to return tge truck I sat on hold with Customer Service for 30 minutes, before I decided to create an acct and see if the rental would show up, which it did. When I finished the vehicle return process, 15 minutes later... I was still on hold!!! I had similar issues the last time I rented about a month ago and didn't report anything, because I figured shit happens. But back to back rentals??? That's an issue! Hopefully my words will be taken with some degree of seriousness and I hope that possibly there may be somewhat of a discount applied for my 2 extremely inconvenient U-haul rentals. Merci.MICHAEL D.

99 % perfection. The one improvement request would be to clear up where customers can park when they arrive. I used a rental spot, was approached in a friendly way by an employee to move my car, but we couldn't find a spot even though there seemed to be 4-5 customer cars parked there max. Can't say enough how well maintained, courteous, fast and helpful everything was. BRAVO.LUIS C.

relatively easy to sign up, set up access, get to your unit (had to change the initial one as it was locked) security system does not update until after you have left your first time, but it works eventually. The issue I had was at the end of the rental. Charged for two extra months until automatic payments were canceled. Will see next month if it really done or I have to call again to discuss it. Unfortunately, as they say, the 3rd time wasn't a charm with my recent experience with your company. On Tuesday September 21st, 2021 I rented a cargo van and was told by the agent to â€œreturn the van with the gas at the same levelâ€. This was done, which when the vehicle was inspected it had only 1/4 tank of gas was available at time of pick up and same returned with a 10 $top up. However, I was charged twice because it was claimed that I returned a vehicle with 1/4 tank rather than a full tank of gas. Where can I drive within the time frame to utilize 3/4 tank of gas in under 30miles? Upon subsequent enquire, I was told â€œthey'll fix it and send an email to rectify their mistake. Today is Friday September 24th, 2021 and no refund has been done. I'm in utter disbelief because my previous 2 interactions weren't nothing compared to this recent situation. Upon removing my items out of the storage unit, there were mice feces everywhere. There was zero food content in my unit, nothing stored warranted mice, it was disgusting and disappointing. Also, the staff was courteous and accommodating but not forthcoming with information. The guy was an absolute disaster. He refused to take the truck. He wanted to me to go find another uhaul location since he had no space. I explained to him my contract states I have to leave it here and if that is the case he should contact uhaul and/or take it there himself. Stop charging paying customers like myself for services not rendered. I was charged for GAS although the tank was at the same mark when I picked truck up. Put on hold for 40 minutes waiting for someone from pickup location just to transfered to corporate customer service. The representative did not resolve my problem, said its something the location has to fix. Then why am I speaking with you when I called the pickup location. We tried to use another location in South Orange, which was a total disaster. The one in Orange was first-rate: large, efficient and pleasant.ROBERT T.
I would have rated it excellent, I opted for the early pick up. Everything was going great, then I couldn't get the key bow lock to open. Had to wait until the store opened which backed me up almost 2 hours with the waiting plus the added traffic. Turns out the combination for the lock was programmed wrong. Maybe you could look into an all electronic system where you text a code and it opens remotely. I think Home Depot does this.GERALD M.

I had questions during the day about my rental contract. I called during business hours, and nobody answered the phone. This was very frustrating. The call would kick over to the main uhaul number which has a wait time of between 30-45 minutes. This is not a good way to conduct business. The employees at the location were very helpful in person. But it doesn't seem they prioritize answering calls. Not great while I'm out with a rental vehicle if I need to get through to someone on the phone.Lauren F.

The reason I put staff was not friendly is due the assistant mgr she was not helpful to my concerns or my needs for an issue I had with my storage unit. When I ask if I can speak to the GM she bluntly said to me I am the manager. I did not move into the storage. I never received an email confirmation. 2. The storage unit was dirty and had stuff in it. The young lady acted as if I was making it up and i waited for someone to come and clean it. They took to long and I left. This is a review of Uhaul, and not specifically this location. I booked a storage unit with one location. I had a reservation and a set price at 89,99 plus tax and insurance. When I arrived (225 Long Ave), a sign on the door said that it was closed and to call a number. I called and they told me to go to another location (1000 Sherman). I did. When I got there, after waiting a while, the person told me that the location wasn't open at all and I could get a smaller unit with them for a lot more money -125 $. I left and called Uhaul. The person on the phone was confused that the location was closed. She said it didn't make sense. Finally, she figured out that it was a new location and it wasn't yet open for business. For some reason, I was still able to make a reservation for it though for a date when it wasn't open. I ended up paying a lot more for a unit at a different place. So, it was a disaster. I really would expect to get the benefits of having a large chain, namely, that they would honor the price for when I booked. It seems like it's more a series of independent places that kind of work together, not at all as good. The person on the phone was helpful, and the place it's at is fine, but this was a mess so beware of this kind of thing with Uhaul.Joe A. | Premières impressions
The system was down so I could not get a code/card to access the elevator. The process was not clear on how to check in at the front door so that led to serious frustration while moving in. A text said I will have a lock ready in my unit and there was none there so I had to run around the facility to find an employee to fetch a lock (which was originally included in my rent). I wanted to close my account thinking the bill would be pro-rated. I was not told prior to closing the account that u-haul does not pro-rate the bill. U-Haul just want to take your money for the month and rent the unit to another person (my impression). This is not the way to do business. . The staff understood my point and put the account back in the system since I would lose my money . I would not recommend U-Haul to anyone because this is not the first incident I have had. The Management team is rude and unprofessional from my pass incident when I had to call a locksmith and they locked my unit. The worst place to do business. This pandemic nobody has Money to just give away. Please train your staff to let the customer know up front all details before just trying to rush the customer off. U-Haul does not credit for days remaining on the account if that's the policy let the customer know their opinions. Which is good customer service. The elevator wasn't working. Even with staff assistance. I returns home with my U-Haul and furniture and went back with them the next day. This cause me time and money. The staff tried their best to help. The second day I was stuck on the elevator it wasn't moving for a time. There is a rodent problem and whether they are rats or mice they urinated and defecated all over my stuff and chewed on some of my belongings. When i initially reserved a truck i specifically stated i needed a truck that i could drop at another location as opposed to returning it to where id pick it up. I was moving out of state so that made the most sense. I confirmed with the agent that i could drop the trick at another location in nj...perfect. Three days prior to my pick up date i received a call from uhaul confirming the reservation; however; i had to return the truck to ny! And instead of my flat rate id now be charged per mile!!! I explained to the agent that this was not was reserved and he said sorry cant help thats all we have blah blah. So instead of a rate of i think it was 139 $? I ended up with a 222 $bill.,,almost 100 $more!!! Completely unacceptable and the agent was not willing to work with me at all. When i returned the truck to the original location the agent there informed me if i got a bigger truck it would have been one way only...a15" as opposed to a 10"....this was never offered to me as an option when i was told 'there's no availability to drop off the truck at another location'....complete scam!
