The technology is not as precise as it could be. The reservation and check in process could be more efficient. We had to fill out additional information once we got to the counter which slowed the process down significantly. Registration online should be complete and customers should be required to show their driver license and a QR code confirming the reservation. We spent over 45 minutes getting it all resolved but the staff on Scotland was very patient and helpful.Abdul-Alim S.

In the process of applying for reimbursement for items that I was charged for that I didn't want or received. Even though, the operation was organized, everyone was very helpful and it wasn't a long wait for service. There was one young lady who seemed to be in charge and she seemed very knowledgeable and efficient in handling potential problems. I should have went back into the office and let her know that the items that the rep checked off on were not in the van. This location was 40 minutes from my house. We got there to pick up our 10:30am truck and were told that the previous customer was not returning our truck until 2pm. Had to go back home and wait. We callled at 2pm and the truck was delayed until 3pm. We waited almost a full day and then had to pack the truck to move at night. we also did not receive extra miles to account for the pickup location being so far from my home.Chris M.

Picking up my U-haul was a very disappointing experience. Though I had called ahead and confirmed, my reserved truck was in a facility that was locked without access until 10am even though I had an 8:15 reservation and movers coming to my apartment at 9:30. I spent 25 minutes on hold. I must give credit to the woman who handled my call, however, she was so kind and helpful. However, I had to go to this secondary location which, again, took a surprisingly long amount of time. The attendant was very helpful, but she was the only one behind the counter facing a huge line, so the difficulties were not her fault. The stress of last minute having to find a new truck, getting to that location, and then navigating the difficulties there was surprising given how much assurance I had from previous U-haul phone calls that the process would be so seamless. Considering how much I paid, I had hoped for a better experience.Phoebe L.

There's girl from the islands there I got so upset about the change of the process and was told I had to use my phone when online let me pick counter pick up. I was so frustrated the others two girl left went outside and left us there with our phones. The young lady came out and help 3 clients get situated she was so good she show empathy and understanding. We shared stories and I forgot I was even frustrated she turned it all around. Now she had in gray and an accent she deserves praise. The assistant manger could have been a bit more empathetic toward others, blue shirt but she did go above and beyond with helping me leave with the truck. I was overcharged for the rental and fuel charge even though I put fuel in it before I returned it. I was told I would not be charged to extend my rental for four hours and yet it was double charge for all services including furniture pads. I booked a truck with my national licence... after that when I did my check in on the website I was waiting for the approval from your agents . He asked me for US Id but he was stupid and very rude. I told him how can I get my US Id when I am new here in USA and I dont have a driving licence yet. He finished the chat and I tried to reach customer service and I wait for more than 25 minutes without answer. But fortunately the agent inside the store asked me why you are upset and I told her my story. But she helped me and completed the reservation and chick in from her computer. I had a very good experience overall --excellent maintenance of the facility and helpful and professional staff. However, billing was oftentimes erratic and inconsistent, resulting in over-charges that required personally contacting UHaul to try to fix. For example, most recently, after announcing a rate increase for a unit (3502), charges for the new amount started BEFORE the increase was supposed to take place. Sometimes charges went in twice.
