Waited an hour in line to get truck. I had to search the parking lot to find the vehicle I rented. Vehicle was parked in the most difficult spot to get out. Put u at risk of damaging vehicle in the lot. $1,43/km charge is criminal. I don't think I would rent here again. Check in was ridiculous. Took half an hour and I had to sit in the truck. It's ridiculous for dispatchers to use phones for checking in. It should be a tablet. They can hardly see the screens. And I hope customer info is not being left on those devices. This was the most horrible experience and every customer was saying the samething. They are Not returning. Good luck.Paul C.

I need to file a claim for a refund: the worker on the return day was not nice at all. There was a mistake on my return date from the day I picked up (it was a same-day return date instead of a 24hrs minimum return date). But he charged me for a late return on the following day. The associate was extremely rude, they double bill the. If you catch it and ask they become very aggressive and angry. It was honestly the first time dealing with a sales person I felt scared, bullied and intimidated so I gave up and left being over charged. Truck cab was clean, the flooring of the cargo box however was dirty. Once I was at location, I had to sweep out the cargo box before loading my items. The 383 Coventry rd in Ottawa Canada not as good as this location I drive 15 more for the innes rd in Orleans location and I am happy but, The Coventry location doesn't not have a god maintenance on the trailer they are rust and make to much noise on the road it left a rust steam on my driveway and make all neghber complaints at the noise that came from the lock of the trailer and I keep mention to them to fix it and they don't. Some of the workers are very professional; however, some are cold. They were supposed to close on Friday at 0800pm, I came by bus at 0758pm at the door and they did not receive me. When I came at pick up time 12 noon my trailer was not there. They said come back at 3. I came back at 3 and no trailer. No other available. I asked them to call other locations and they did but none available. They finally said there was one on site with a blown tire they may be able to fix. After an hour and a half they had it ready. I initially rented Furniture pads - paid for it at the pick up. Their were no furniture pads in the truck. When spoke to Gentlemen at the counter he said they wont charge for it and its a hold. On return of the truck they charged me $60 for missing equipment ( Furniture Pads) - Ridiculous. i have used Uhaul over 4 times in last 2 years and then to get Lied about and charged Twice and no one is ready to talk when called either of the location and they ask to call other location. My experience this time was VASTLY better than in the past. Crew is knowledgeable and helpful, and process was much smoother than on previous visits. One comment would be that for what I imagine to be one of the busiest moving days of the year (September 1), they could have definitely used more staff - the poor guys were swamped. We had rented a truck as our son was moving from Calgary to Toronto. There was no room in Toronto for the pod to be delivered so figured as we live near Orleans this was yhe best option. When we arrived in Orleans the truck was ready for us but we had no access to the pod. Even though my son had confirmation that we could get into the pod at 615 . We were told we couldn't have access after 5. Again we had a confirmation for 615. Then we were told that they were never received anything telling them we had access at that time. An hour and a half later we left with an empty truck. They wouldn't give us access until the next day at 10. Due to the delay we ended up arriving at my son's new place going in 7 o'clock at night. Customer service rep who was also the manager at the Innes road location humiliated me in front of my friends for being late to pickup the truck and each time I asked him a question he kept on shaking his head. Im also in customer service industry and this guy really needs some training and courses. At the end of the day when I parked the truck i got charged double, money is not an issue but respect and courtesy is. I don't think I can ever forget this kind of behaviour and disrespect. Time to promote some young guys and get rid of the people who don't take pride in their job.Amandeep B.

I do not understand how my final payment raised up to 50 % higher after I returned the car. It should be 86 CAD but I was charged 133 CAD. You app was not working. Your team could not enter a current millage. They told that something went wrong with the system in that busy day. Nobody explained anything. Everyone of your team was extra busy. However, it is obviously that that day could be overloaded. It was my first experience, Unfortunately not the best. Otherwise I want to notice, that it was no problems or suggestions related to the vehicle's conditions. It is all about poor service.Igor Z.

Only complaint I have is that my whole reservation I made online with somebody at the 1877 number it the whole reservation was wrong from my spelling of name to rearranging my cell number. I was also supposed to get a 10 ft truck and they messed that up to told me I was paying 29 for the truck plus insurance gas and kms. I put gas myself and u guys charged me 185 plus taxes instead. I have non issues with this particular uhaul location in general or with its staff because everyone was wonderful. I have an issue with u haul and how they do business. I reserved a specific size and left my credit card on file to guarantee the space I needed. When I got there, they told me they didn't have my size. I ended up having to get two spaces that cost me $150 plus taxes more than what I had reserved. When I went to the manager and told him what had happened. He told me I should have come in and reserved right away. I told him that the person that I spoke to on the phone never told me that. He told me that it was too bad and there was nothing he could do. When I finally had to take the two smaller units, there was mouse feces all over the ground. The facility is poorly maintained. I've been using U-Haul for over 2 years and so far my experience are pleasant. The Manager is very understanding and helpful, (I believe his name was Steven), who helped me previously. Jason, the gentleman that assisted me yesterday July 1st was very accommodating, super patient and helpful. All the staff are approachable and friendly. The customer service is awesome. Although, the wait time on the phone is way too long being on hold. The mobile check In and out is super convenient. The website could be improved. The storage units are clean and well maintained. *The only request I can ask is that for the units that are on 2nd level could really use a mechanical lift to help elevate and lift the furniture/appliance, household items, because just like me with back injuries could help not contribute to more injury and prolonged the back pains when moving the stuff into the storage(s). There was rodent droppings in the unit. I couldn't quickly locate a broom to sweep out the unit, so I had to use my shoe to try and remove as much as possible before storing my items. Additionally, the heat is still on in the loading dock and made it uncomfortable for unloading things unless we kept opening the garage door. These things aside, the experience was great - staff were friendly and attentive. The manager and staff at uhaul were always very professional and answered all my questions patiently, they deal with a great deal of customer driven stress but always keep their cool. The security set up with keypad sign in and out is the best in the industry, far better than the competition. - the trucks were not parked in order: when we picked up our truck, it took 4 times before getting a truck that was actually accessible. The first one was stuck between two other trucks, then, the 2nd one, one door was not closing, the 3rd one was also stuck between two trucks... We had to look at a truck available (i.e. in front of truck line) and run back to the staff inside to tell them which one was in the front. I received specific information about my truck rental from the manager in orleans. In her absence, the front workers were very unhelpful and my issue was not solved. I have closed my account with UHaul and have also contacted the manager. Also I was told if I close my unit early there would be a prorated refund. Perhaps I was wrong but this is was disappointing.
