The customer service is the pit. They have continually tried to charge us for a storage unit that should have been free. They overcharged for the rental truck. They are not customer friendly.

I have a HUGE issue with the movers that we can hire alone with the truck. This is a BAD issue and reflects poorly on the overall experience with Uhaul. You allow us to book movers through your experience; however, the movers literally destroyed my property. At the end, I found out they were all Pitt students!!!!! KIDS...NO moving experience whatsoever. My lamps broken and now awaiting my trash day, my multi-thousand dollar bed (the mattress) was ripped leaving BIG hole in the bottom with exposed materials, bedroom side table w/drawers - now awaiting trash w/side molding missing and now drawers hanging out... Nice boys, but NOT MOVERS...JUST KIDS... truly sad!!! There's more stuff missing and broken...but oh well. Will NEVER pass this way again!!!

The truck was good, I did the online reservation without issue though I did have to go get the key. Masks didn't seem like part of the attire but all in all it was easy to pick up and return the truck!

When we picked up our vehicle there were two employees not wearing masks. And the pricing is misleading. We weren't aware that a full days rental was going to be around $80 each day. It is advertised for 19.95 a day. And we only used the vehicle five hours into the next 24-hour period and were still charge the full amount. I think for a customer standpoint it would be nice to be given a partial refund for not using a full 24-hour day use of a vehicle.

Was given a truck number for contactless pickup. Could not find the truck waited on hold for customer service. Took 5 tries before the agent could find us a truck. Wasted over an HR of our rental time.

When I lowered the fender to load the vehicle, I found the trailer tires were worn beyond safe conditions, wear bar flush with tread, one tire was dry rrotted. All 4 tires were 15 pounds or more below recommended 65 psi pressure. A replacement Fender had been installed but only 2 of the 4 bolts installed to secure it to the trailer. The rear safety chain was missing on the trailer. The trailer ramps were covered with mud so that when I pulled them out to use them, the vehicle I was loading slid while driving up the trailer ramps. I have used this location to pick up uhaul vehicles for 30 plus years and have never experienced anything but good results until this time. The attendant connecting my trailer to my truck was distracted by another employee asking him what he wanted for lunch. The location where the trailer was parked and where I was directed to connect to the trailer was sloped in 2 directions making estimating the tongue height and necessary drawbar I impossible to properly estimate. I am very disappointed I was provided a trailer that was not properly prepared, unsafe, and would in fact not pass a trailer inspection in Pennsylvania. Please contact me regarding the rental of this trailer.

The check in and check out on the app did not work at all. I looked at other customer reviews and it said the same. As a result though I brought the truck back within the contract time. I was charged double for some services and extra day, approx $60. The app is not compatable or phone friendly. Then there should be an alternate system in which I should be charged double. When I checked in the employee said this happens sometimes and he could not help me when I tried checking in online. So if I could not check in online then obviously I could not return the truck after hours. This is poor customer service and how these people feel they deserve top pay for their skill is beyond me. To add I had the truck a total of 18 hours and was charged 2 days rental and 2 days of insurance. I feel i deserve a partial refund. Feel free to call 4125765437 Tim Baureis

Waited 45 min after i had a reservation set. 3 different trucks. 1st truck had quarter tank?????? Then proceeded to let me know about frul charge. 2nd truck was fine and enough gas...but pulled me out of it. Finally the 3rd truck which the guy was wiping the seats off. Told me he put down the windows becwuse it smelled so bad...its winter time im moving my personal belongings and also driving the stinky filthy piece of shit. I asked him what about window cleaner?? A dog or a dirty child or person was smudged both windows and windshield. He made a attemp to clean..at this point it was 45 mins 945am later...this was the worst rip-off ive ever had yo deal with. Been using uhaul for years..never again thank you

This drop off location was nice and helpful. I tried to drop off at the place listed on my contract, 900 Sleepy Hollow Rd, Pittsburgh but they wouldn't let me. He gave me some story about it being common to have to take the truck elsewhere. He wrote down the address for this drop off location and said it was only 2 miles away. It's really >5 miles away. When I told the people at 5 Clairton Blvd they said he lied to me and I might get charged more to drop off at a different location than what is on the contract. Anyway, they figured out what to do and accepted the truck and car tow. I'll never go back to the Sleepy Hollow location again!

Cruise control on vehicles would be nice as I did a lot of highway travel on this trip. Also labeling the e-brake location as well as the restless (which is labeled well) would help greatly. Cabs are kind of dark inside, so finding it took a little time. Always excellent customer service...Matt was very clear with his instructions and very efficient, time wise.

I had originally booked a 20 foot truck but my reservation came up as 17 foot. They were able to give me the original truck that I had ordered right on the spot. They didn't have the one dolly that I needed but it ended up working out. They did seem a little busy and would have been helpful for them to to have an extra person. But they were friendly and helpful!

The first trailer they tried to offer and began hooking up had really old and worn tires. The tires were so badly cupped that I could see the belts in a few spots. They agreed to give me a different trailer and that one had a broken door assist cable. I just took it so that I could get a trailer and held the door open with a bungee cord so that it would not slam down on someone. It is obvious that trailer inspections are not being done well to ensure safety.

The van we rented was a nice vehicle and rode well but there was dog hair on the passenger seat and the "change oil soon" warning light was on. Matt at the front desk was great, got me in and out of the office and into the vehicle quickly. When I returned the vehicle the gentleman that checked me in (didn't get his name) was very friendly and I was on my way in no time. I highly recommend this U-Haul location for renting.

The back door/ramp on the open trailer 6x12 Is not 6 feet. Towed it for 2 hours to find out I could not use it due to the ramp being smaller than the Advertised. They Only credited me $15 and took 2 employees an Hour trying to figure it out how to do the refunds.

I made several trips to move out. Once, the sliding doors weren't opened. This was around noon, so it wasn't because it was off hours. This made it very difficult to move out using the door, which is down a narrow hallway. I called to let them know it was locked and waited on hold for over 15 minutes. Apparently, you get kicked over to a hotline when you call. She was no help, said to just go inside and tell them. I said I will not, that nobody wears masks that work there, even though it's required by our Governor to wear them in businesses. Once, I came a little after 7pm, and access to the storage units were closed. Online and on the sign, it is posted that OFFICE hours close at 7pm, however it states that access to storage units were to be until 10pm. Wasted trip all the way down there. Because of that, I had to scramble to move out the day of. There is always junk in the parking lot, at least by the loading dock where I frequented. Because I made so many trips every day to my unit, I noticed some used band-aids a little further down in the hallway. They were there for days and to my last day, were still there. Everything is so dark and dingy inside, also. Rent kept going up. Once, I received a notice that they were painting, so they needed to raise the rent to keep it maintained. When they painted it looked fresh and new. However, it was not maintained. I noticed when I was moving out, that several holes were patched all around, but never painted over. So, all you see are all these spackled holes everywhere. Lastly, as I mentioned, nobody there wears masks. It took me over a week, making a total of 30 trips to move everything and so I saw several times throughout the week of employees talking close to customers with no mask on. Whether it be showing a customer a new unit inside, behind the the counter at service, or them showing or receiving storage trucks from customers, they never wore a mask. I saw all customers wear them. There is even a sign in their window to please wear one upon entry. I understand it's inconvenient, I know, I moved wearing one the whole time. Some days were very hot, and yet I kept it on for respect of others.

The unit was clean, but I was extremely disappointed to find that my large storage unit was located on the 2nd floor with the only access to the unit was to carry large, heavy items up steps. There should be ramp access. The unit door height is also very low which made getting oversized items extremely difficult to get into the unit.

PSA - Remove your belongings from you unit BEFORE the start of the new month. I cleared mine out four days after I had paid the monthly fee. U-Haul doesn't pro-rate (so they can rent the same unit out to someone else that I'm still paying for)....
