The location itself was fine. I am upset that I made a reservation on Sun afternoon for a one way trip from Ca to Az. Somebody from uhaul called me Monday morning after I had already arrived in Ca to tell me I could not do that and cancelled my reservation. After calling back and speaking to multiple people, I finally got somebody on the phone that said there was no problem renting a trailer one way and set up a new reservation for me. It took up my entire day trying to get this squared away and was one of the worst customer service experience's I have ever had.Dion L.

Robin & staff were amazing! This location was very helpful! the 1 800 call center is NOT! Reserved a trailer and then had to wait 4 days and had to pay for hotels until a trailer was available. U haul would not help at all, no discounts etc. I have used U haul many times but now I will be telling others to be very careful and customer service at the 1 800 # ....no! Go to a actual location. . I was very disappointed that my trailer was not available when I received a confirmation etc. You should not be able to pick trailer info etc and then not receive it. I spent over 600 $waiting for a trailer and my Husband and I were 3 days late to our new employer. Not happy with u haul but very happy with this location /Robin and staff!Ne'Cole J.
If it's a 1995 rental for a day, have the sales person reiterate that it will be at least double to triple that price with the gas mileage. The 19,95 $ per day written in bold orange letters on all of your pick up trucks is misleading! FrustratingERIC W.

I couldn't get a hold of a real person even after spending a long time on hold. The self checkin process is time consuming and I had to repeat information that I had already provided. The website is not user friendly. I needed to make some changes and it was very difficult to see where I would do this. The truck was parked behind another truck and I had to wait in line to ask for someone to move it. At the end of the day I wanted to extend my rental for another day and could not get anywhere on the website or contact a real person on the phone or through chat. I will not use UHaul again in the future. The customer service needs to be drastically improved.Elizabeth B.

First and foremost, don't bill someone 3 weeks after the rental was completed. I just got a notice from my bank saying u haul tried to bill me but I didnt have enough funds . Well no, I didnt ,and had I known it was going to be three weeks later I would have made sure there was enough in the account . I forgot about it and actually thought it had been taken care of. Do you know what kind of mess that can cause to someone's account? Cmon how about being a little more punctual with your billing.STEVEN B.

The truck didn't have much gas in it which was fine bc I wasn't going far, but then they tried to charge me for a full tank of gas even though I drove less than 10 miles. I had to explain that it was impossible to use a full tank of gas in 10 miles and they begrudgingly didn't charge me. One of the workers (a guy) didn't accurately know how to work the online checkin and kept giving me incorrect instructions. The woman working there was good.Suzanne B.

The U-Haul phone app did not work at the location - it was impossible to get the app to recognize my location, so I had to wait in line for 15 minutes in the cramped office to pick up the van I had reserved (so much for Covid-19 safety). At the time of pickup, I was provided with a van that had a flat tire (the front left tire was down 40 lbs.; the warning light was on; the tire was visibly bulging with the weight of the empty van). When I asked an attendant about the tire he simply kicked it (???) and told me that the warning light was probably broken, which was complete nonsense. Because the tire was an obvious hazard, I had to search for a service station with a working air pump at midnight and fill the tire with 40 lbs of air (the warning light was not "broken" - it went out as soon as I filled the tire). Upon return, the tire I filled had lost all of the air I added. At the time of drop-off, the attendant who took my return understood the issue and said he would take the van out of service to repair the tire and gave me one day's credit for the inconvenience, but the location should not be releasing vans with flat tires. Covid-19 protocols at the location seemed poor - I saw an attendant behind the counter remove his mask to sneeze!JOHN B.
Tell your customers you only have 1/2 hr. To get insurance on the vehicle! I said I will check with my auto Ins. Co. To see if I'm covered under my plan! My insurance company said for regular trucks Yes but not uhaul trucks! So when I called back your branch was closed. 2nd thing. You definitely need more help at your stores to pick up the phones instead of a central Ofc. Where it takes 20 minutes to talk to someone and even then they type in messages to go to that branch. I spent an hour unable to get the key to turn, unlock and start the engine. I finally was able to get it to work. Then later it wouldn't work again. I felt I was treated fairly and given more time to complete the move.Corey W.
When I went to pick up the trailer I first went to lemon grove the one guy with the pink hair was very helpful but they did not have the trailer. He sent me to Chula Vista near 4th Broadway I pulled up and there was three trailer in the parking lot so I went in a ask about it and the two employees were rude and unhelpful they replied that the trailers are reserved without even checking anything made me feel like they had more important things to do. Finally I went to Point Loma I know I pull up 1 hour before they close but as I was talk with the person to rent the trailer the other employee the one that hooks up the trailer gave me a look like I was ruining his night. I came as a walk in customer. The staff was more than helpful with my needs . Very courteous, professional and fast was in and out in no time . The van I rented was brand new very clean and drove great. When I came to return it was super easy was greeted by one of the staff members who even asked how the vehicle ran and ensured that I had a good experience. I just cannot use U-Haul again with the call in queue where I cannot talk to a person Several times I had to call, every time the 14minutes crap spew about being open and then a long queue to listen to while I was driving. If you want me to call back and confirm? Pick up the phone If you want me to call to say I'm returning a trailer? PICK UP THE PHONE. If you want to settle something with a card transaction? Pick up the phone I hated the whole online Impersonal business. Do you driver license YOURSELF, we can't take a copy, do this QR code. No. I just will not do it. I have a question? Call this stupid queue that NEVER in 3 calls did I get an answer. WHAT IN GODS NAME would compel me to waste my time and hear those messages again And another thing, if I HAVE to listen to your crappy queue, give me MUSIC, not your endless ads, over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over while I am blowing my mind on no one picking up the phone. HIRE SOME PEOPLE Next time I will go Home Depot. Jees I'll BUY a trailer. I can't deal with this impersonal imperfect time consuming frustrating non-service. The guys loading and unloading were great, but you better have a phone, you better have an email, or you cannot do business with U-Haul anymore. Moves are frustrating enough. I'll cart this crap around on my HEAD, I'll make 101 trips with a mini van before I'll deal with such an impersonal service. PS I owe you $$ on a declined card but I refuse to call your stupid phone number. We have more people to deal with, yes, but my god you have business all day long and computers. DOES EVERYTHING HAVE TO BE IMPERSONAL??? UGG. Hire a few more monkeys do something. The online and queue phone tree are above my frustration level. Frustrated doesn't begin to cover it. HATED THIS EXPERIENCE, we are stupid animals, we have questions, and there is NO ONE that can answer them.NOT ONCE did someone pick up a phone call into uhaul. NOT ONE TIME. And I got different info from the people I did talk to via â€œchatâ€ at 2:20am in teh MORNING hopping I would CATCH a human being. Check in was horrible. I had everything filled out online before my arrival through the app. Still had to wail inline for 45 minutes only for the associate to ask me the questions I had already answered on the app. When I made my reservation I made it for 8 AM but was told I had to pick it up at 10 even though the location opened at 7. If everything is filled out on the app you should be able to show the reservation to an associate in the lot, hook up the trailer and drive away. It should take 10 minutes tops. From the time I got to the location till I drove off was 1 hour. I needed a 1 day rental and only had the trailer in my possession for 24 hours but had to pay for 3 days.Joseph N.

Everything was good for the most part. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The truck I rented had an issue where when I slowed down, the engine would automatically rev up to 4 000 - 4 500 rpms. It did this a few times, but it was noticeable since it sounded like the engine was getting ready to blow out. I spoke about this with the person who checked-in the equipment when I was finished, so hopefully it has been documented and will be fixed.ANDREW W.

The person working the truck pull up service gave away my assigned and reserved truck to another person causing me to go back in line and wait for another 30 min, waiting for another truck and the delay caused me to miss my mover appointment. I am sure he did it to be helpful to the people who got my truck which were highly confused and needed a lot of coaching.
