I picked up my truck yesterday that was used Not clean at all but I was doing an emergency move due to this pandemic and hardship time. So I was in a hurry to even complain. I get to unit load the truck get ready to leave and truck would not start I called store where I was told I couldn't get any help from I was told I needed to call roadside assistance and if the truck don't start I would have to get another one. This was very stressful I was literally stranded in this truck looking online to contact roadside assistance The thought of even having to sit there or re load another truck was horrible. I have never experienced this service with u haul. I had to think fast because it was getting late and if I didn't make it before 7 pm I would have a 20 $late charge that of course I can't afford right now So I called someone to give me a jump and that's how I was able to complete my move by 4 and dropped off by 5 . The truck needs a new battery I believe those trucks should be checked before handing them over to anyone. That was not safe at all.Vivian F.

The Sales Associate Veronica was a breath of fresh air. I'm so used to walking into a Uhaul location & having some male employee treat me like I'm an idiot because I'm a gay male. Not today, Veronica had a smile on her face (yes it was so welcoming I could tell from under her mask) from the moment I walked in & accommodated me perfectly. original paperwork was correct with 13/16 gas but return pointed to 7/8 .... also i saw ding and wasn't told adequate explanation KEPT SAYING the X .says it's OK but my paperwork didn't have an X in anything saying "received with ding" would be best for actual picture showing ding AS WELL AS YOUR EXPENSIVE STICKERS ON THE VEHICLEBEN C.

I had a difficult time at pick up trying to use the app/online check in. It wouldn't accept my alternate phone number and I didn't have the other info with me (passport, etc). I was able to go inside and check in and Lou Gonzalez and Hector, who helped me and prepped the truck, were awesome. They were friendly, professional, and made sure I felt set with everything before leaving.Todd T.
The contactless pickup did not go well. GPS location didn't work, finding the barcode was difficult. The instructions for picking up the key were vague, I went inside to talk with the staff anyway. Then I found another truck parked so I couldn't get mine out, and had to go back in again. Then I found the dolly I rented wasn't in the truck, so i had to go back in a 3rd time. Instructions on re-fueling the vehicle were not clear. The gas gage was at F when I took the truck, I only went a few miles, but I refueled anyway because the gage moved down a bit. I put in 6 gallons, but only drove 4 miles. The staff said I shouldn't have filled it.James A.

The person that was in the garage was rude and dismissive. He wouldn't check the pressure on all the tires (even though the tire pressure indicator was on) he filed the passenger front tire to 80psi when it should be 52psi. He then when said that the indicator would clear only only when being driven. I had to take the vehicle to my own garage to correct the air pressure on the passenger front (bringing it down to 52psi) and the passenger rear (increasing to 71psi from 32psi). The drivers side was only if by a few psi (probable caused by the slightly cooler weather). The indicator cleared immediately as soon as the tire pressure was corrected (no driving necessary). All windows in the vehicle were dirty which was clearly visible once it was dark and headlights hit it. Additionally the side cargo door wouldn't seal with constant rattling and air noise although completely closed. I requested a credit on this rental but so far attempt had been made to rectify the situation from U-Haul's side.Lee H.

I walked into the store with a mask on. I smiled at two customers that were standing in the store. I never even spoke any words at all and the man working at the counter yelled out at me and said that if I continue to yell out loud that he would not wait on me. I told him that I hadn't said anything at all. He continued to yell at me and repeated himself and said that he would not wait on me and that I would have to leave the store. When it was my turn to pay for my truck rental I told him again that I hadn't spoke anything at all and why was he saying this to me. I feel that because I was WHITE woman and he was a BLACK man working the counter that he had the power to treat me like as badly as he wanted. A person with this kind of racist attitude and behavior should not be allowed to service the public. I would like a response from your corporate office concerning this terrible treatment that I received from one of your employees. I have been renting trucks from your store for over twelve years. I am appalled and disappointed to have been treated like that.SUSAN U.
Give flat rate with unlimited miles options. Capability of pick up and dropping off truck at different location closer to your moving destination. Overall the service was good but I would love the options above to save me more time and money.KURT A.

Be honest about the size of the trucks. Online dimensions show things like a 15 foot truck, doesn't mention that includes 3 feet of that little attic space, and it is really only 12 feet long. I agreed with a couple of other customers that were at the U-Haul at the same time that is really deceptive. Of course, by the time I got there for pick up, there were no larger trucks.Kevin C.

Booked a Chicago to Huntley. I drop the uhaul off at Huntley and tell me to bring it back to Chicago. I paid gas and tolls for my uhaul and my other vehicle to pick me up. I get there they tell me the manager will call me before charging me. The manager doesn't call me, they email me a bill. Trash service. Will never use againBrandon P.

The only reason I wouldn't recommend this location is because of the lack of on-site parking. I have always parked on U-Haul's parking lots at any time I rented a truck. This location's rep told me to park on Cicero Ave. not in the store's parking lot, which made no sense. Am I expected to take a cab to get to the renting site?!MOHAMED E.

There was a single employee present and a long wait to be helped. Once I was assisted during checkout the employee was so rushed that he couldn't process my transaction properly. He offered no information on how to access my unit. I attempted to access on my own immediately after being checked out and I was unable to access any of the doors. I returned to ask why and found out he never processed the transaction. I then had to wait again for the single employee to come back from 'hooking up a trailer' which was partly true, the smoke break being the other.. Then this employee was unable to read credit card numbers on his own, I had to repeat phone numbers and card numbers repeatedly over 10 mins for him to finally be able to actually process the purchase of the unit. I then had to ask him multiple questions on how to access, where the unit was located, etc. as he offered no detail proactively.nick k. | Premières impressions

I explained my storage needs to a young lady who attended to me, in which I let her know and showed her one of the bikes i needed to store. for one there weren't any storage space that could accommodate my need, except for on the top floor of the building and the rest were to small. She had told me that the space I finally settled on only had four steps leading to the space, when it was actually 4 flights of stairs making it totally impossible for me to get my items to the space since there aren't any elevators. Veronica was very polite and helpful. She even gave me a water bottle after I asked if there was a Coke machine. (I was extremely thirsty after moving everything into the facility on a warm, humid day.) My only suggestion for the facility would be to put in a little ramp of concrete to cover the big bump at the threshold between the parking lot and the indoor storage facility. There's a big bump whether you go through the large garage door or through the small door next to it. This makes it difficult to push a fully loaded cart over that bump and into the building. I went to drop off my stuff on the storage only to be blocked off by all the Trucks, so I had no access to the drive up ramp not only that but, there was a lock on my storage unit that I did not have the key to so I couldn't take anything in it even if I wanted to.
