Superb transaction. Well designed reservation system. Easy modification of reservation when necessary. The employees at the Potomac Mills location in Newington VA were skilled, efficient and courteous. Even though they were extremely busy on a Saturday night, I was out of there with my trailer hooked up in about three minutes. Great job.

I've rented 2 trailers from this location in the past few weeks and had very similar experiences with both transactions. 1) Put your phones down and take care of the customers. On both occasions, both pick up and drop off, I stood at the counter waiting for staff to put their cell phones down and acknowledge I was there. 2) Figure out how to communicate with the outside staff. On both occasions office staff picked up a radio and requested someone meet me for hookup but on both occasions I had to return to the lobby after waiting outside over 10 minutes to let them know nobody showed up. Turns out inside staff was using the radio to call outside staff who was not carrying a radio. Upon returning my last rental the same thing happened on drop off. I was told to drive around and someone would meet me to disconnect. Over 10 minutes later I dropped it myself and left. Ridiculous. 3) Inspect the inside of trailers when retuned. They inspected the outside of the trailer when I return it but didn't look inside for cleanliness. I clean out my rentals but whoever used the last 2 trailers I rented before me did not. It's okay if you want to let the customer get way with bringing back dirty trailers but if you do, you should clean it out for the next customer. I would recommend this location only because of their large selection of equipment and proximity to my home. I'd much prefer to use Lorton because the times I've been forced to use them they are always attentive to the customer and outside staff is always prompt when connecting and disconnecting but because of DC area traffic I tolerate the staff at Woodbridge.

The woman who took payment was very rude. She seemed annoyed and didn't take the time out to explain anything. She kind of assumed I knew where the truck was and procedures as far as giving emergency contacts. She also charged me for “Safe Move”, which I opted out of when I booked the reservation because my insurance actually covers moving rentals. When I looked at my receipt, I asked about the charge and she gave very vague instructions on how to remove it. She also forgot to make sure I had the dolly that was actually included on my reservation. There was another woman there who had a really bubbly and lovable personality, she was extremely helpful and I forgot to catch her name. She ended up helping me find my truck and making sure I had my dolly.

The service when picking up was lacking, the person the was helping us hook the trailer couldn't lift the trailer to hook it up and struggled to hook the chains and wires. One of my friends helped and ended up hurting his arm and back. It also didn't help that there was only 3 people working when the place was packed.

Customer service was great; a little shorthanded for morning pickup creating a backup line. I wish someone could have helped get the big 26' truck around the building and helped with me with equipment. I have used U-Haul before and would use again.

This location is great! All of the employees, especially the owner, put in 110 %. We were there during a very busy Saturday morning. Although we had to wait a bit, every single employee was willing to help. They all were great at multitasking and being efficient to ensure that all the customers were helped as quickly as possible.

I waited 20mins just to simply hand the let's of the return to a staff memeberStaff is lazy & one by one they stagger into the lobby area from the back after 10-15min of waiting behind 4 people...they come from around the back as if they were somehow busy doing anything else, but there is a long line of customers out front & say...."sorry for the wait"....how bout...stop bull-jiving around at work & actually work so that the system flows & the customers are not waiting because you in the back on the speaker phone...seems very slack & lacks any accountability...I'm just saying...."cats away...the mice will play"...get it together guys!

Your trailers need trailer jacks. Large trailer is way too heavy for the average person to lift off the trailer ball, especially when loaded.

After returning the truck the website wasn't working even after a few tries, so I had to go to the front desk to ask someone to look the truck over but had to wait in line first. Should be a better way to return the truck without difficulties and to save time.

Hello Everything was OK but.... when I went to get the truck I reserve the lady was not in the best mood. I told her I parked right upfront the door on those spots but there is a sign there 15min parking and I said to her I be back tomorrow around lunch. She said o you can't park here they may tow your car. ...you have to park at customer service parking...ok I said everything is full there you have like 5 spots what is the problem this still is your parking right .... she said yeah but is for your equipment and they may tow your car ... I said that don't make sense I am a customer need the truck over night there is no other parking a the moment. She said I don't work tomorrow I don't know what will happen to your car I work only tonight ....that is wrong I got a truck from you each year and never been said my car can be tow if I don't move it .... there was other ppl parked there too .... you should be able to park where you find a spot not only this 5 spots you have come on. Or not tell ppl there car may be tow if they don't move if .... if I am not a customer why I be parking there right is logical. When I return the truck the guy who took it and check me out was completely opposite of the lady ...he was very friendly and nice ðŸ' Thanks

Took me a few minutes to find the truck since no one walked me out to find it. I even asked the loud woman outside cleaning the trucks and she was more concerned about cleaning and checking in trucks that she couldn't help me. Everything else was fine. check-in was a lot smoother.

Had a n online reservation (6 days). Arrived at location and found equipment but attendant prevented me from taking the assigned truck stating it had been rented to someone else but I could go inside the office, wait in line, and arrange for another one. This wasted a half hour of my time and the attendant stated they "could not extend" my prearranged rental length. Not the customer service I was expecting. Further, suggest numbering equipment parking slots/spaces to prevent the customer from wasting time wandering around the lot trying to locate their equipment.

I got charged 2 340,42 $ for a rental in Cincinatti, erroneously, and I'm still waiting for it to be credited to my account. Until then, I'll refrain from commenting. It's caused me great anxiety and inconvenience, and no explanation or apology was given by your company.

My return was not processed until two days later. That prompted U-Haul to charged my card for an extra day of use. U-Haul needs to ensure they are not making these mistakes with other customers.

Pick up was great, customer service very good. Drop off not so great, rep checking me out was nice, store manager was rude and spoke over him, then yelled across the store at me ,p when I asked for a bigger size truck for my next move,so everyone could hear her, that there "AINT NO MORE TRUCKS AVAILABLE FROM HERE TO RICHMOND FOR THE NEXT 2 MONTHS! I SUGGEST YOU LEAVE IT!" OK, unprofessional and embarrassing.

The staff was great however the layout of the the facility made it difficult to access my unit with anything besides a small car. I chose this place because it was advertised as 24/7 but more often than not there were rental trucks blocking the through way. However, to the benefit of this location this seems endemic to all uhauls. Therefore for future storage needs i will be renting from a non-uhaul location

First, we would not have chosen this location, but our options were limited due to the size of truck we were returning (26'). We called on Friday 8/13 to speak with an agent about securing a storage unit, but she stated she did not know if there was availability and did not know how to check if there was availability. She took my name and phone number and said he manager would call back with info. We never got the follow up communication. So I called back Saturday 8/14 to inquire again, and Brandon was helpful and confirmed a 10'x10' unit for us to start Sunday 8/15. We arrived Sunday 8/15 and waited a while to be helped. A young lady with long curly hair and freckles led me up to help me, and took a 5 minute phone call in the middle of helping me. She didn't seem to have a thorough understanding of the system and how to get me into my unit quickly. Finally she gave us an access card and the unit number. When we drove around to the unit, it was in use but closed to the owner for nonpayment. So we go back inside to get another unit. A young, thin gentlemen with braces helped assign us to another unit, which was going to be larger and more expensive since there were no other 10'x10' available. I hen we went over to that unit, it was also in use and closed to the owner for nonpayment. He came around to the unit to meet us and completely shared our frustrations because there were no other available units of any size. He stated his frustration with the assistant manager who is responsible for not letting their system show availability for these types of units. (Sorry for the descriptions, no one on site wore a name tag). We quickly called a Public Storage down the street where a fast, friendly, professional associate got us a unit immediately. Thanks to their assistance, we were able to secure our belongings same day with ZERO HASSLE! The experiences between the two companies was night and day. I am also aware that the manager of this location passed away recently, which we were sorry to hear. I have no doubt the team we encountered was working hard to do the beat they could, given the circumstances. As a customer, i just want to relay that they need more support and assistance right now. Your corporate leaders would not be happy with how this location is currently operating.

My wife and I were moving to a new house in the area, and we needed to put our property in storage. We were stressed out enough. However, store manager Dana Russell showed tremendous customer service in helping us get set up with the storage we needed. I am grateful to her for alleviating a stressful situation we were in.
