Office was understaffed, could not provide service immediately on arrival. Otherwise, equipment was in good shape and the rental went as expected. Text and phone based check in process was new and took some getting used to.

My U Box container experience was mixed. At the loading end in California the service was good, on time, polite etc. and the shipping was on time. Although they couldn't find the uhaul center in Salisbury, MA in their system. The receiving end of the service was somewhere between poor and a disaster. The staff in Salisbury were awful, rude, lazy, and uncooperative, with the exception of the "U-Box guy". The container was not available on the day that was arranged with head office. I had hired a pick up truck for the day, and this was completely wasted. Another appointment was set up for the next day, and once more the container was not available and I was sent out out in the pouring rain to find the "U-Box man". Meanwhile the girl on reception sneaked out to smoke behind an adjacent doorway, hiding with a black hoody on. Finally "U-Box man" appeared from inside and proceeded to go look for my box and put it on the trailer. The trailer was slightly damage so "U-Box man" mended it by replacing a support leg while my driver and I stood in the pouring rain. Ugh. Terrible service.

1. Long line on a Sunday morning but the staff was quite slow 2. For short term/short haul rentals, Home Depot offers truck/van rentals for $19.95 - $29/hour, no additional charge for miles driven - your 89 cents/mile is steep, could cause you lose the competitive edge 3. Gas tank was a quarter full, was told I must return it at more or equal to half tank. Pretty difficult to do so, especially without knowing what kind of gas mileage the rental gives. Suggest you top up the tank to full and ask customers to return full tank. That's better and easier.

I was in line for a half an hour waiting to be helped and then once I received and signed the contract I waited another half an hour outside in the rain before anyone even asked if I need help. By the time I got my truck and trailer I was already an hour and 15 minutes in to my rental time that I made a reservation for the day before. Very unhappy and will be looking to take my business elsewhere next time.

This is a highly congested location. many other UHaul services are here and interfere with the retail service side. With that said, the manager Desire makes every effort to counter the complications that arise. During both pick up and drop off, semi trucks delivering stuff and other UHaul activities blocked all access to the retail rental store.

Ensure trailer is connected properly before departing as mine was not and became disconnected on highway. Road side assistance procedure is horrible. We were on the side of the road for two plus hours awaiting arrival of assistance. Roadside customer assistance was primary reason for delay in receiving roadside assistance.

Uhaul staff was very helpful and friendly during the pick-up and the return of a motorcycle trailer. Mounted and dismounted the trailer per their policy which saved me doing it and verified all trailer lights and functions were working properly before hitting the road.

If there is more than one person in line to get help its chaos. I waited in line for over an hour. People walked out because it was taking too long. The lady asked the customers who is getting a truck. The guy behind me raised his hand. She said “I sent everyone a link to self check in”. He didn’t get the link and she pulled him out of line and checked him in before 4 other customers including myself. Parking and arrangement of the parking lot sucks. Only a few spots to park so when someone comes in for a return or rental you have a hard time figuring out where to go. If more than one person is waiting the second person will be in the way. Once I was finally helped the service was above average. The guy hooking up the trailer hustled to get the hookup done and made sure it was good to go.

There was mismatch in fuel level when I picked up the truck which was marked on the contract. While returning the truck I specifically mentioned about it and showed the contract. However I was still charged for the fuel and am still working with the customer care department to get it resolved. Personal experience with the employee at the location was very pleasant.

I was a little upset because the online program didn’t work. I input all of my information the night before to make it a quick, easy pickup process, but had to repeat much of the same steps in the store. The customer service provided at this location was well above expectations. Everyone was nice and friendly and really helped to get me out of there as quickly as possible to meet my reservation time of 9am. I was very impressed by the great and helpful attitudes of the staff!

Jose I believe is his name could learn some customer service skills, first thing he says after I tell him I'm there with an appointment for a hitch install: "You're not a handy man? It's only 4 bolts" How demeaning is that? Some men are not mechanically savvy. I'm a customer looking for professional services. If I could do it myself I would. I'm going to be towing close to 7k pounds, I don't want to make a mistake. It's 2019, so I believe they call that toxic masculinity. If wasn't so early and before coffee, I would have said something. Also I made an appointment for 9am, installer gets in at 11am... what's the point of having an appointment before 11am? Anyway, hitch looks solid so kudos to the installer. Thanks, Will H.

My original reservation was set for Wednesday 7am. I was given the run around and told misleading information for nearly a week. I was promised a 50.00 credit to my account and have yet received it. This has been the worst uhaul experience ever! Truly inconvenient.

Still, I am shocked that how on the world, the U-Haul company in this scale does not run the 'monkey-test' on the return truck Apps. It is so easy; once your App designed finished its job, you must pass it to a stranger with an average info, and ask him/her to test it. Then, you can figure out how user-friendly is your apps is. In your case, you are expecting that after hours moving and working, the customer comes to the stations and figure out: 1. The customer don't need to create an account 2. The customer must know to continue with no-account option 3. When the software asked for the phone number/account; they must enter the account .. this is the section that pissed me off. How on the world, if the software prompts enter phone number/account number, I must enter the second one .... How on the world, when you are tired and keep entering your phone number, and then there is no "Return your Truck" option 4. Then, for torture, we must watch a video about the procedure. Frankly, you screw it up in the national scale. 5. Hey, idiots, it is so easy. Add an option "Return the Truck", then ask enter your Code, and then done 6. Still, I cannot imagine your App designer screw it up so bad. And the U-Haul staffs are so dumb. 7. The funny part is that you know the process is hard, because there were dozen questions about how easy is the return process is. Well, dumb guys, it is not. Because your app designer made it wrong from the first place. Unless, you already know that (read Step 1-4). This process in the app-design is called 'monkey-test', and you FAILED.

The online reservation process and return process was fine. However the pick up process is overly cumbersome and it is not made clear when booking what will be needed at pick up. I had to provide two alternative contacts who could be called with no notice to get approval. This is after taking my picture, providing my driving licence and my credit card. Also the truck I had booked was not available out front but was in back. So I anyway had to go and wait in the office for the manager to fix the pick up issues.

We were contacted as the unit we had rented was not available so we were provided a different option but was supposed to be at same price, when I was presented with the rental amount to acknowledge I quested the amount as it was higher then we were quoted and it turns out that we were being charged the higher price of the different unit, I guess disappointing that the customer has to discover this. On another less important note when I was presented the invoice amount on the screen it has an additional charge of $60 which I was told would go away once my CC was swiped, I've been to this location previously and there wasn't a $60 charge on the screen when I was renting a similar trailer.
