I went around and around with them and stull still did not get what was promised to me. I was not happy about it and by the time i left The store I was i tears. I was quoted total price would be 34 $for the rental, insurance. I estimated that I would put on around 30 miles total in which I should have been charged at the most 65 $plus taxes which I should have been charged around 70 $at the most. Instead I was charged 135 $. How in the heck did you.come up with that charge? I brought the truck in time. I feel that your pricing was dishonest and I was deliberately overcharged. BEWARE!!! I blame my terrible experience solely on Uhaul and not the Prescott location. I was quoted 1 200 $on the phone from the 800 number...encouraged to give my credit card immediately to lock in quote ...then was charged 1 900 $. Not 1 200 $. I called multiple times, on hold for hours to be told pretty much...Too bad, They charged my card and I have no recourse. I was told quotes are just a quote and actual price could change which it almost doubled. Communication was absolutely horrible as was the experience. This is a large, busy, climate controlled facility with adequate dock space for loading and unloading. Check-in and check-out was smooth and efficient. All the staff we encountered were very helpful and knowledgable. Considering we moved an entire new home furnishings out of storage, it was a positive experience with this U-Haul. First of all wasn't informed that if I switched Reservation to location closest to my car (one way trip) that it would cost me 40$ more comparened to the fulll round trip from Phoenix back to same Phoenix location. Secondly the tow dolly that was rented out to me way so beat up , bent on the tow bars , right wheel bent inward and left wheel bent outward . Also was missing a chain which had clearly been missing for awhile because there was rust and hook was broken off where chain should've been connected . So I had to use this tow dolly that could've possibly killed someone because the other chain could've snapped off . The running lights didn't work on this and only the right brake light worked and when hazards were turned on only a tight side worked. The guy at the shop checked the light before letting us go, he said we were good but knew they didn't work and still let us take off with it.Brittney O.

I made my reservation the Tuesday before I needed it on the following Saturday. I went to pick up the 15' truck I had reserved at the Fulton st. location in Prescott Valley AZ. He had a 10' truck. He said that's all he had. I need a 15' truck with a ramp. I had him call several uhaul locations nearby and had nothing. I made him call the dispatcher and he reserved me one about 12 miles away in Prescott, AZ. I had hired people to help me move and had to pay them an extra hour to hold them until I got the truck there to load. I had to pay 0,99/ mile extra for the 24 extra miles I shouldn't have had to pay. I am not at all happy with the uhaul organization here. You shouldn't promise to have one and then not have it when I've paid help and need it. I had to move my stuff that day or pay an additional months rent. The location where I finally picked up the truck I ordered was helpful, but I should not have had to travel that far for what I had ordered, and been promised, at the location that I had selected. I think the least you people can do is reimburse me for my costs that I had to pay due to your mistake.MARVIN S.

Work on communication and phone response time. When it became clear that my ubox was not in transit a few days before it was set to arrive I could not reach any person at the Prescott location to tell me why or that it would rectified and sent out soon or how long it would take. Instead my calls were booted to the call center who did their best to help me figure out what was going on, but didn't have any actual answers and instead I was sent to one department after another with no one EVER giving my answers. My box was guaranteed to arrive in Akron Ohio on May 10th and did not arrive till the 13th and I was charged full price and have not received any refund for the 50 $a day U-haul late fee or any communication. I spent over 6 hours on the phone between being on hold or being passed to another department in the span of 5 days trying to make sure that I would be able to actually get my belongings. I am highly disappointed with U-Haul and would not recommend them to anyone who has any other option.Leah W.

Service at the Bellingham, WA Store was very poor, the counter staff was totally uninformed about how the U box system actually works. No one informed me that they would not be delivered to me in Prescott by flat bed & forklift. The two trailers didn't fit on my driveway. When I got them, 2 boxes had damaged ramps and had to pried up with a crowbar. The brackets holding the ramps were bent. U Haul nationwide phone help could not understand the problem & dispatch anyone to help. I left voice mail & text messages and got no response for 4 hours. When I finally got a neighbor to help pry the ramps open, one box was positioned on the trailer improperly and the door latch could not clear the other box. The latch had to be torn off to get in the box. The U Haul nationwide phone system is a nightmare to deal with. There isn't there a local facility phone number available to contact for help. I had to pay a U Haul recommended hauler to deliver and return the trailers 408,00 $. The move turned out to be way more expensive then a full service mover. I had to pay & release local day workers when the trailers ramps could not be opened. I would rate U Haul customer service as the worst I have ever encountered in my dealings with service companies.Lyndal M.

My above average rating is based on my in-person experience, however I must also relate the apparent "loss" of my climate-controlled storage unit reservation which was, to say the least, most inconvenient. KJ, the manager, was at a loss to explain this incident, apologized, and tried his best to help provide (non-climate controlled unfortunately) storage. I reserved 2 climate controlled 10x15x9 storage units. I was very excited when they became available because this place is always full. I loaded up the UHaul truck and drove 2 hours to Prescott to put everything into storage. I arrived only to be told that they did not have my units anymore. I asked if they could see my reservation and they said yes. I asked what I did wrong that the units were not actually reserved for me and they said I did nothing wrong, someone just rented them out from under me. I said I needed the units as I had a full truck sitting in the parking lot. They said there was nothing they could do. They had 2 small units available, but only 1 was climate controlled. I didn't really have a choice, so I took the 2 units. I asked that the cost be reduced as I would be paying more for these 2 smaller units than I would have for the 10x15x9 climate controlled unit. They said only the manager could do that. I asked to leave a note to have him call me. They said they could not do that. I asked if my name could be put down to get the next 10x15x9 climate controlled unit that became available and they said they could not do that either. They basically did not care that they gave away the units I had reserved and now won't make it right by combining the cost of the 2 smaller units into the price of the larger unit. If you send an email to the one provided on the electronic receipt (937024_GM@UHaul.com) it comes back as undeliverable. I got another e-mail from a business card for the manager and have e-mailed him (KJ) and have not heard anything back yet. When you call the local number, it rolls right to the corporate UHaul service center. They will not handle the situation either. It must be handled locally. I am still short one unit and do not have faith that if I reserve one when it becomes available it will actually be there for me to use. Very poor customer service. The customer service person was nice, but could not do anything for me and did not offer any help to make it right. This place is always sold out, so I guess they figure they don't really need the extra business. Very disappointing. They tell you to contact the local U-Haul Storage Facility and try to resolve any disputes before leaving feedback, but they make that almost impossible to do. The e-mail they provide in their correspondence does not work and the local number rolls to corporate. Only by actually going to the facility was I able to get a different e-mail for the manager, but he did not respond. I went to my storage unit after I got a call about a flooding. I went to my storage unit which was fine. I let them know. However a week later, I went back to the unit, my key didn't open the lock. When I went to the desk, I found out they broke into my locker to check on it. They said the insurance company wanted to see if there was any damage. No one thought to tell me. They actually broke into my unit without my permission. This is unacceptable. I will never store at uhaul again. We had a bit of a problem when I found out the morning of my move-in an 18 wheeler could not access the property to get to my storage locker. This was after confirming twice with UHaul staff that an 18 Wheeler could drive on the property and use the loading dock and freight elevator to get my items to the fourth floor.The U-Haul manager went out of his way to troubleshoot what we could do with the truck and determined the best plan was to find another storage provider that had access for this large of a truck. He turned a bad situation into a positive experience for us even at the loss of my business.
