I reserved a car trailer through the call center and when I came in to pick it up was told there were no trailers available. I politely asked why this was so five times over the course of renting a car dolly instead. I was told not to call the call center for anything but to come in physically and reserve it myself. Because I was told the call center had no clue of what was going on. I waited for fifteen to twenty minutes in line to be waited on when there were three employees at the counter but only one employee waiting on customers. The tow dolly had a tail light out and was told if I got pulled over to play dumb and say it was working when I left the yard. I had to wait for about five minutes for the employee that was helping me to say goodbye to his wife before he could help me. Wife works there too. I was also charged right around the same rate for the tow dolly as I was told for the car trailer by the call center. I was supposed to be at a place to pick up my car and tow it to another location at a certain time. Being late with my car to the mechanic caused friction on my end. The car dolly had the straps racheted up so tight that it took me about ten minutes a strap to get them to release and whoever returned the car dolly before me didn't read the instructions on how to do that. The employee that helped me "Bryson" must have had ten pots of coffee before I came in because his hands were shaking so much it seemed to impede his setting up the dolly and he was speaking so fast that some of what he was saying sounded like gibberish. I have been a customer at that Cypress Ave location for years and it's never been this bad. Feel free to contact me. Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.CHARLES W.

Your online reservation tool has limitations (dropoff point) that even your phone in help couldn't fix. When I got to the pickup point in Redding they also couldn't fix it. All this led to long delays and complications with dropoff for me.ALFRED E.

Very disappointed. When I picked up the van and did the walk through on the app to check for any damages, I didn't see any. However the beach back was somewhat dirty. Not a big deal because I was only moving a few things. Then before returning it, I actually had my son sweep it out, even though it was there already. Leave things better the you got them. Well then when we returned the van, the lady had the nerve to say it was dirty and then charge a 25 dollar cleaning fee!! Nothing we said mattered. There was miscommunication somewhere. My order was mysteriously canceled and I had to call to fix it then I was never told it was an indoor storage unit up a flight of stairs and that was NOT what I needed(the redbluff uhaul storage set up was what I expected) And the redding location doesn't honor the free month and they had such limited availability they couldn't even give me the correct size. Ive never had any issues renting trucks and equipment but my experience with the storage aspect really tainted my trust. 1. Acknowledge customers that are waiting in line. 2. Too many merchandise racks in front of the counters make it difficult for customers to see an available employee. 3. The vehicle windows were filthy and the truck made a loud sound as if a belt was slipping. When returning the vehicle the employee took the keys didn't say a word and left me standing there and never returned. After a few minutes I went searching for him in the lot. Uhaul switched my pickup location to one that was much further than the one I had chose and did not notify unitl a few minutes before pickup time. when I got to the location there was only one person working with 4 people ahead of me. I was promised a 30 day free storage unit with my truck rental. When I got to the U-Haul location in Redding, they acted like they couldn't find my reservation after a long wait in line. They end up telling me that the unit I made a reservation for was also reserved by two other people. The unit was triple booked. The manager seemed frustrated in general and shrugged and said â€œwell I guess if he's one of the reservations and the first one here just rent it to him. They pull up a total on the computer of 70 $. I tell them that's not correct, I had a reservation for 1 month free with my truck rental. He acted like I was completely out of line saying this. He was like â€œNo, absolutely not, I'm not going to rent one for free when we're full up and this one has other people. I said â€œwell I mean that's not really my problem, I mean I had a reservation and the system let me do it.â€ Then the manager says to the girl completing the check-in â€œyeah nope that's it go ahead and cancel it he's not getting it.â€ I believe I called this location before too as well and they have always had a rude, lazy disposition. I do not feel comfortable leaving my stuff at that U-Haul storage facility after this. They're obviously rude lazy and incompetent. I would really like to have that 70 $refunded on top of the entirety of my truck rental. uHaul really owes me about 500 $Gregory W.

We were to drop truck off at Shasta. YOU asked us to drop off at Redding for YOU. We were to receive a 150 $credit if we did. So we went to Redding. Your personnel in Redding threaten to charge us 200 $to fill up the gas tank for gas used from Shasta to Redding. When I called and complained your "Customer Service" answer was the 150,00 $ credit was to cover the extra gas and our time. We AREN'T YOUR employees and were doing U-HAUL a favor. The manager at this facility needs to make sure his employees are properly trained and makes sure to take a second that the customer they are serving is satisfied. The salesmen that helped me coulints answer any my questions let a lone know how to work there own inline system so the customer has no issues with this exspearance. We rented a pickup. It would have been helpful to know the size of gas tank so when we purchased gas, we could have known how much to put in. Instead my husband put in way more than we were required to.... At the price of gas, that was an expensive mistake.Anita B.

I rented a trailer with ramp and I couldn't get the pin out of the pipe (it was crooked) had to go back to store but they didn't have another one. They tried to straighten it. I was able to get the pin out with a lot of work. This shortened my time to use the trailer.Pamela M.

I explained to the associate that the picture of the mileage I took before I left was kind of hard to see on my phone. He might need to go inside to see it. He didn't. Then he began to argue with us when we told him that what he was telling us couldn't be right. The he tells us he knows how to do his job. I go inside and look at the picture and realize he has the miles wrong. He still continues to have an attitude and argue. He involves another co worker who begins to yell at us and at one point throws his badge off and goes outside to fight my friend. The mgr cones out does nothing. I want to charge a different card than what was reserved with. He didn't listen messed that up. Arguing the whole way. Then I wanted to return boxes. He can't get any terminal to work to refund me I have to argue to get cash back because his equipment is broken. Bunch of clowns.Joseph B.

explain the drop off procedure; when I arrived to return the trailer I got out of my car and walked all over the parking lot for the office to let them know I was returning the trailer. Turns out they don't have an office and I did not need to even inform anyone that I returned the trailer, all I needed to do was unhook it and leave.TAMMIE H.
These guys are busy so you may not find them in the store. So you might find them outside or you gotta wait a few minute. My trailer I rented had broken straps In it but i didn't have an issue with it. They had what i needed and i used it and brought it back no problem. I will go back in the future!DANIEL G.
I reserved a storage unit several days before moving but when I got into town I was told by a somewhat robotic and unemotional employee that there were no storage units available and my reservation which was confirmed via credit card and email was not in their system. It's completely unacceptable. The toilet in this facility also constantly has feces all down the back of the toilet bowl. There were two counter people and ten customers waiting in line. If a customer needed a trailer, the counter person had to go outside to connect it. This store gave away our first reservation and offered an upgrade, then they did not have the truck when we arrived and wanted us to drive 30 miles south to another store that had over a dozen trucks. As we were leaving we saw another truck being returned. We talked to another counter person, Rick, who fixed all our reservations and quickly checked in this truck and then checked it out to us. He did a brief walk around with us and explained all the requirements of this particular truck.Steve P.

Line was very long. Staff was kind and helpful. Kept telling me about the access card swipe doent work and to just ignore if it errors and just go to the unit. Not alot of confidence in the security offered seeing as anyone can ignore the security and just come in. Have a drive up unit, which was sketchy.
