Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They expertly and politely managed a long line during a very busy time. If there is anything you can do to help the next customer it is to staff more appropriately for the level of activity, the actual service provided by employees was excellent.

The gentleman who set us up initially was superb - covered the bases on everything stressing safety - you are so lucky to have him working for you!! No issues at all with the rental. Would suggest including tire blocks in unit for when it is unhitched.

Your pickup process even after pre-registering took forever. I sent my photo and license photo and waited over 20 minutes The chat feature took almost as long to get a response.

For some reason, gas consumption was worse on this truck than the one I rented last Sunday 10/25. Please make sure trucks are tuned up. The trucks were the same size, but the more efficient one was older.

My problem was with the sales rep on the phone. She didn't realize that the storage box on the second level had access only by a stairs/ladder. It was very difficult to get into, pipes in the ceiling and a difficult angle. I wouldn't have been able to manage if my son didn't tag along last minute. The employees at Salem where very nice and understanding. Ann

I have used this location over the past few years and have had the same attendant for renting vans/box trucks/ for various duties. I also have used this location for propane fill up and with the same attendant and he could not be anymore professional and customer friendly. As I was waiting today he was overheard on the phone with a supervisor or logistics person in helping a returning customer rectify his account. He had sent the customer on his way with the assurance that he would clear up or get answers as to why his bill/agreement was as it was. As the phonemail proceeded he had stated his customer's case and cleared up any clerical problems. Hearing this transaction is why I always return to Salem Jefferson Avenue location. David J. Legere

Excellent customer service; vehicles worked perfectly; mobile drop-offs are so easy & simple. Please fix your app issue regarding fuel amount. It is not possible to drag the icon to full. The photo and gas receipt I sent in an email to U-HAUL.

Uhaul on Jefferson Ave in Salem is great! The man at the counter was kind, helpful, and answered my questions. We got the keys as soon as the contract was signed (took less than five minutes; they are incredibly proficient), and then we were on our way. The truck was clean, and everything went smoothly. We returned the truck at 7:02 and their doors were locked (7 is their closing time) a wonderful employee came to the other door, took back the keys and said not to worry; no after hours fee. I highly recommend the UHaul on Jefferson Ave; they know how to do business.

I got a text Friday night before pickup saying the UBox was sent to the Salisbury, MA location. On Saturday morning we had to call the manager over at Salem and argue to get us a box at the Salem location like we asked for in the first place.

The truck I rented could use some work. The check-engine light was on. The back door wouldn't latch and on the way back to Uhaul it opened up and the dolly fell out into oncoming traffic. Luckily, the other drivers were able to avoid it. It could have been a VERY serious situation.

check-in and check-out were easy to follow. step-by-step instructions are provided in the app. customer service was personable, helpful, and quick.

The ball hitch that you sell is junk. the loctite doesn't work as an approach to keep the ball nut tight. Even cranking down on it is fruitless due to the nylon washer. Nut loosened during the travel multiple times. The threads got cooked, and then the Nut would not stay on. YOU NEED TO DIVERT BACK TO THE OLD LOCKWASHER style with solid nut, NO NYLON!!!!!!!!!

The gentleman working at the location was excellent and the van appeared to be brand new. They wiped down the entire cab of the van in line with Covid standards. I was very pleased with the experience.

The website sucks. I finally had to call for equipment that the site said wasn't available and it was, and at a cheaper rate than on the site. The sit just suck. Then I get my ebill with a totally different billing formula than the one I reviewed on my reservation but in the end it saved me a couple bucks.

The U haul lot is packed with U haul vehicles, so maneuvering is tight. And with only one attendant on duty at 7am there were several people waiting. But he was efficient and pleasant and the wait was short. We have rented a utility trailer 1-2 times a year for yard cleanup and have always had a good experience at U Haul.

The experience was terrible. In particular, when I asked for a printed receipt when I returned the truck, the first employee was unable to find and print it. He produced several other documents, but not the receipt for the truck that I just returned. When I insisted on getting a printed receipt, the employee became rude and started to insult me. His manager, likewise, could not produce the requested receipt. After about 30 to 40 minutes of no success, I was so frustrated and angry that I left, still without the receipt. In terms of cleanliness, I had to ask an employee to clean the driver's cabin before I could use the truck that morning. Lastly, when I finally received a received a receipt by email a full week (yes, 7 days) later, I noticed that they recorded the fuel gauge reading to be significantly higher than what it was when I dropped off the truck, effectively cheating the next customer. A truly terrible experience overall!

I appeared at this location to pick up a trailer. After trying on the computer for 30 minutes, the staff member was unable to actually process the transaction, and asked me to return the next day. The next day it took 5 minutes. But having to travel twice was a giant waste of time. On both occasions the staff members themselves were helpful and pleasant.

location is a little tough to pull in and out of given it's spot at a busy intersection - would be great if there was a way to enter/exit with equipment a little further down or up the street so you only have to worry about two way traffic instead of 3 way traffic

The general manager at the Salem, MA location was EXCELLENT and should commended for how he handled the store as it was getting absolutely SLAMMED with customers while he only had one other employee to help him. You all need to give Mr. Chery a raise and get him more staff.

My storage unit looks like it might be the runt of the litter, but it gets the job done. The storage unit door does not have the U-Haul logo and painted number as the rest of them do, so it seemed like maybe I got the trash pick. This unit was the last one of its size and fits all of our storage needs, so we make it work.
