Typical competent service at the store, I never have complaints with personnel at U-Haul but once I would like to use a truck that doesn’t have blown shocks, use quarts of oil or both. I know what I’m getting, low expectations.

Don has no business working there . He has no customer service skills what so ever . Very rude to alk the customers including my self . Had a reservation but it took 1 hour to actually get the truck . The back of the truck smelled so bad of weed I almost didn't take it . The truck is I very bad shape . At 65 mph it shakes so bad it makes the mirrors shake to the point you cant see out of them . If I need to rent a truck in the future I certainly wont be using that location or possibly uhaul ever again. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I am a manager myself and if I ever spoke to a customer the way he did I would be fired immediately.

This was the WORST moving experience I have had IN MY LIFE! The 20ft truck I was given was NOT road safe and broke down less than 400 miles in to a cross-country trip... the A/C unit was questionable from the start and the transmission was racing and de-accelerating on its own, leading to the engine over-heating and us eventually pulling over at a rest stop for fear of a more complete engine failure. Add to the fact that the muffler broke off maybe 20 minutes before we pulled over... leaving us at a rest stop in the desert for 4+ hours before we got help. This breakdown and eventual truck swap cost me 2 days of travel, forcing us to drive long hours to make up for lost time as we were on a tight traveling schedule. I will NEVER rent from UHaul again (oh and add to it, this wasn't even the truck I was supposed to get... I was told at the original pick-up location that my truck was not returned and I had to drive 45 min out of my way to get this junk truck)... what a horrible joke.

The place is Santa Rosa was great. They made up for the bullshit I got in the phone from uhaul 1800 number. Twice my reservation was messed up by the online person and/or just not delivered to the local uhaul. They made up for it but you really need to get the people on the phone to get their shit together

Trailer was not available at the location we reserved it at. We were advised to drive one hour away to another location. We found one 45 minutes away. Inconvienced and costly. Tire straps on trailer were tangled and bound so bad that they would not release. Call U-Haul 800 number. No help.

When I picked up the van I rented, it had less than half a tank of gas. This meant that rather than setting off to my destination over seventy miles away, I had to first look for a gas station and fill up the tank. Not knowing the gas mileage on the van, I had to fill up the tank. This meant that when the van was returned, it had an extra quarter of a tank of gas in it. The van should be delivered with a *full* tank of gas when picked up. This would avoid the problems of having to fill the tank and of returning the van with excess gas in the tank. I would like to be reimbursed for the excess gas in the tank. This should be at the same rate that Uhaul charges when the van is returned with a shortage of gas. Please contact me for this reimbursement.

At both the loading end and the destination end, our experience was terrible. We were put on hold for 20 minutes, transferred to another customer service rep, waited another 10 minutes and then disconnected SEVERAL TIMES. We received misinformation and wrong information repeatedly. The drop-off we had scheduled months in advance was cancelled one hour into the 4 hour window when it was supposed to be dropped and scheduled for the next day. Since this was a problem for us, your rep said we could drive our stuff up and load it at the rental center. After loading our pickup and driving 30 minutes, we were told when we got there that we COULD NOT GAIN ACCESS to any boxes. The box did not arrive by the guaranteed date and at one point your reps didn't even know where it was. The final delivery was one week late. I want a refund, or at least a discount on your terrible service. But I bet nothing will be done to try to resolve this.

We reserved a 17 foot truck and a dolly, neither of which were available when we arrived for our pick-up time. They were out of dollys and there were no 17 foot trucks available. We had to wait over an hour for a 17 foot truck to get returned, the check-engine light was on, and the truck was not cleaned. I see no point in reserving a truck or additional items if they aren't even available. Uhaul needs to have a stock of trucks, etc. so they are available for those who make a reservation. The individual who checked us in was extremely helpful and apologetic, so nothing I am saying is directed towards him. My above comments are directed towards Uhaul as a company and not having items available. Try running your business with the customer in mind.

The U Haul online site was terrible. It was repetitive and confusing, at the end saying that I had reserved a trailer that I did not request and was to pick it up in a town more than 50 miles from home. I had already attempted to cancel the request and would have gone elsewhere if I had not received a phone call from a regional representative. The people at my local shop were timely and helpful.

I was disappointed because I was on a tight timeline all day and had a 7:00 am reservation to pick up the truck I reserved. I was GLAD they had the truck (as that has been a problem in the past, not at this location) but my disappointment was that they didn't arrive until 6:55 and opened the doors at 7:00 so none of the trucks were ready to be taken. I was their first customer so they did help me as soon as they could but I didn't drive out of there until 7:40 which put me behind schedule. I would think they should arrive early enough to have trucks ready to take by 7:15 or so. It was stressful to be behind schedule and it is stressful enough to be driving a big ole honkin' truck in the first place. Other than that, they were helpful at the beginning and at the end of my VERY LONG day. I would recommend them as they were personable and the equipment was in good condition. My truck smelled like an ashtray but I just opened the windows for a while!

When the store called me the day before to confirm the reservation, they indicated that the truck would be available at 3pm. And when I indicated that was not early enough, they stated I had requested that time, which I absolutely did not want to wait that long considering I was flying into town specifically to load it at 8:30 am. There was no solution offered to help me get one sooner. Then when I arrived at 3pm, the truck was not there. Luckily while they were trying to stall, someone return their truck early but it was still a 45 minute wait. During our wait, two customers had obviously issues that needed to be addressed and one customer was complimentary. We witnessed an employee get into a heated argument with one of the unhappy customers, in which he refused to provide any identifying information other than than his first name, stated he was the manager and stated the customer was putting words into his mouth. While he was decent to me, it was extremely awkward and uncomfortable to witness the interaction that occurred, and there was no offer made to compensate with product or price for the lack of timeliness and high inconvenience.

Traveled an hour away fromy city to rent a truck in Santa Rosa. Absolutely did NOT like the attitude of the person in charge of my city's U-Haul. Santa Rosa's was a much better change. Very friendly workers and quite helpful as well. Answered any questions and comforted any doubts.

Manager at this Uhaul location was nice at first but then turned rude. They were not even ready for our order of 6 Uboxes and only had 1 trailer to go back and forth. And to boot, only had 1 forklift, so when we came back to get our 2 box, there was 3 semi's waiting to be offloaded and we ended up waiting 1 1/2 hours to get our 3rd box. We ended up getting a truck, which they only had a 15 ft left and had them stage our uboxes at that back so we could load at house, then come back and unload at facility. The worst moving day for us and the poor customer. We even tried to call corporate and was placed on hold for over an hour. Ended up hanging up.

I visited this location on multiple occasions prior to my move date. Reserving my van, buying boxes and supplies etc. This place is woefully understaffed and has not customer experience etiquette whatsoever. The morning of picking up my van was a complete fiasco. Multiple people in line, one person working (Don Sheldon) who was the manager according to his name tag, totally rude to all customers, nobody's vehicles were there for pickup, just a complete cluster. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Very hard to chat to a responsible human. Broken equipment and charges for hire of truck after I was told there would be no charge! No clear direction as to pick up site location (three hours of calling to locate boxes) Sub contractor movers were resourceful in trying to resolve UHaul issues

Everything was fine until my invoice was emailed to me the next day. There were 3 incorrect charges and multiple contacts to try and resolve. I was charged $10 for pads (didn’t rent any) $10 for a dolly (didn’t rent one) and an extra day fee of $24.95 (I returned the truck at 7p the same day I rented it as agreed in my contract. This is highly suspicious, I should have insisted on the gentleman checking in the truck and giving me a receipt before I left. Disputing the $49.95 with my cc company. What a pain, never had an issue with U-Haul before, likely won’t use them again unless I can get my final receipt immediately on return.

This location needs to be closed. I had a 430p appointment and didn’t leave the location until 530p. The person who TRIED to help us did not know how to work the computer system. The manager tried to test the employee rather than helping with the situation. He then proceeded to help other customers who were able to get out of there before we even left check in. The trailer was super dirty and I had to hose it out before using it. Overall horrible experience.

But I was never given an option either online or in person to pick the time. It would be nice to have an option to pick it when reserving and base the cost on that.

This location is terrible. One person working on Memorial Day, waited in line for an hour listening to everyone in front of me and behind complaining about the wait and their reservations not being ready. When a second worker arrived she made a grand entrance as if she was Norm from Cheers. When to crowd immediately turned on her she simply stated "she just works here!" And "would you be this upset if you were waiting in line at Disneyland?" Then the First employee a male was wasting time flurting with two young girls and gave them free gas and a credit, meanwhile I spent $1k on a truck to go 217 miles! UNACCEPTABLE!

Came in and wait over 30 minutes just to talk w/ a person even though I next customer. Check in person, female, chatted with couple socially. Problems with computer understandable but frustrating for customer. Associate proceeded to say "BTW, I am not chatting" to me, and continued to chat. Friendliness is great; however, this was pretty annoying, and one customer walked away. Even more annoying was a gentleman came in after me and she helped him purchase a box while multi-tasking. It wasn't a quick purchase. Notably, gentleman came in and helped, straightforward and friendly and got me out of there in reasonable time when he helped me. Female associate gave me a water, no acknowledgement of my waiting. I noticed she stopped chatting with others when someone was watching and more customers came it. Gotta say, I this was mostly a terrible experience and I work in the business of customer experience. Curious how you guys respond to this and see what my next experience is like when I rent to move my daughter back to school. Yes, I will come back b/c it is the closest service to me and just curious if your site improves. FYI Experience in August, and October good.

Place was clean. The young man who helped me hookup my trailer and the young lady who unhooked my trailer upon return, were excellent. The man inside who took my info when I picked up my trailer could not have been more of a pompous ass. My email reservation was for a different location and Uhaul never notified me of the change. So when I finally got to where my reservation was sent, the man who helped me acted like I was interrupting his day. He made me wait in line, when there was NO ONE IN THE STORE and there were 2 employees at the computer systems. After a 10 minute wait, (while he answered his private cell phone and discussed employee schedules for that day and the other employee continued to stare at her computer screen), he wouldn't make eye contact with me and told me I was an hour late for my pickup. When I said I had been sent to the wrong place, so that's why I was an hour later for pick up, he then smirked and told me I had to be back by the original reservation time or I would incur an extra day charge. I didn't make a deal out of it, but honestly, I was very disappointed and my reservation didn't even go to the correct location. I actually want my money back.

Customer service at the counter is consistently horrible. Stand around forever as employees mill about, seemingly doing nothing, although they may have different rolls and are unable to help a customer. They should still acknowledge customers and go get another employee to help. Zero sense of urgency for as a line developed and never moved. The young lady who finally helped me was very pleasant and helpful. The yard guy was very personable and helpful.

The operator updated the reservation to 7am---consequently when we showed up later that morning the shop gave the truck away. Why didn't they call before giving it away? Also the truck we got was swapped out at the last second, and we didn't get the hand truck we rented---nor does it appear they gave us a credit for it

One new staff member that was in training greeted and addressed me when I came in the store. The other employees were on their personal phones and too busy dividing up dinner to pay attention to me. This new staff person attempted to assist me and another team member was instructing her and instead took over for her instead of allowing her to finish. She then complained to me about having to teach this new staff member what to do and then said, "Sorry you have to be a guinea pig for this. But at least you're a cute guinea pig." Then when going through my reservation she verbally stated she just doesn't care at this point about obtaining my license plate number and said she doesn't have the patience for it. The only employees I was pleased with are the new trainee and the gentleman that hooked up my trailer who took over after my reservation and payment were complete.

UBox delivery truck broke down en route to my new home and was told I could not reschedule for at least several days, possibly more depending on what the problem was. Said this was already the back up truck since the original had also broken down (sounds like high quality equipment...). No other solutions were offered. I ended up getting ahold of a friend’s work van so that I could unload my box at the location, at which point it occurred to me that there were any number of trucks on the premises with which my box could have been trailered and brought to me since I am only ten minutes from the location. Staff was friendly, but definitely not helpful in working through this problem.

I wanted to say thank you Don. U haul has an excellent employee that went above and beyond his duties. He helped me when no one else would. Don answered the phone 15 minutes after closing and still gave me time to get to Uhaul and of course trouble with the wiring on my truck but he hung in there and stayed an hour and fifteen minutes after the doors closed. We got it figured out and everything was smooth after the wiring issue. Seriously Don's actions were that of what you rarely see in people anymore. He could have been like everyone else and said sorry we're closed. Thanks again.

i made a reservation online, filled everything out online, paid ahead of time. and i call to get there hours just to see when i could arrive. clerk mentioned your (my) truck is actually not on file and not here. why would the system let me rent and pay for a truck that is not on site? had to wait for them to call me back as it was the end of the month and mostly everything else was out of stock. something else that bothered me a lot, if you call this office and they are busy... if it rings too many times it will automatically go to an operator off-site. i needed to make sure i get dispatched to the actual location as i was sure i left something personal in the truck, so i thought i could call them specifically just to find out. ended had to call about 7 times before someone picked up the phone and frantically said they were to busy just to pick up the phone and hung back up so i kept calling until he said would you like to be put on hold. so i was on hold and waited roughly 50 minutes before someone picked up the phone, just to ask a simple question. you can always put someone on hold, you dont have to not just pick up.

I rented from this location on Saturday 4/27, I had an 8:00 am reservation. I arrived at 8:15 am to find a line of people already complaining about the wait. It is my understanding there was an employee scheduling issue resulting in (1) counter person and (1) yard person attempting to assist 12 - 18 people. In short I did not receive my reserved vehicle until 9:45 when I was finally able to leave the yard. The vehicle worked perfectly and the personnel on site were courteous and helpful, my only complaint was the lack of staff available to assist your customers in a timely manner. Thank you, Roger

The car Dolly fender was cracked when I got the equipment, and later fell off because of all the vibrations on the road. He cheated me out of $312 for the fenders. On the pickup of the trailer the wiring installation didnt work? reserved an open 6x12 received a call that the location I requested gave that trailer away. so they sent me 2 a new location 10 miles further... when I arrived at the new location they tried to give me a 4x8 enclosed because they were sold out of everything else. overall I think uhaul is below average in customer care. the lady who I rented the trailer from had been yelled at multiple times today for the same issue. this says to me uhaul needs to do a better job at not double booking trailers or trucks. I ended up doing half of what I planned for due to the fact it took me an extra 90 min to get the trailer between travel and waiting to get a bigger trailer.. overall you uhaul failed me and failed their employees..

When I reserved the pick up truck, the on-line price was $1.09 per mile. When I returned the truck they charged me $1.19 per mile. They said it was because it was on a week-end. I picked up the trailer and it was not the dimensions described and I had to return it and go to adifferent location to rent a different trailer. I was disappointed that the employee who I spoke with 2 days before picking up my rental couldn’t find my paperwork. I asked to speak to a manager and he called me back and finally found my agreement. The night before I got a call saying they no longer had a 17’ truck available so I got a 15’ truck instead at the same rate. Had to wait an hour when we picked it up to have it cleaned out and ready to go. A lot of miscommunication happens with this company. The truck ended up being cleaned out by Adrian who was very nice and helpful.
