Rented a 26' box truck. Was told "its nearly empty, so return it 1/4 full and we will give you a fuel credit refund". Took it to the gas station to fuel up. Gauge actually was on EMPTY so it put in what I though I'd need for the local move plus 1/4 tank, since it was on Empty and I didn't want to run out of gas; almost 25 gallons ($100+). Gauge STILL read empty! Broken, not Empty. Truck ABS system light also went on several times that day and stayed on for miles and muffler is blown out. Loud rattletrap, poorly maintained vehicle. Kept my gas receipt. Only drive about 75 miles total. Asked manager for fuel adjustment and told them of mutiple mechanical issues. I figure, at 10 miles per gallon, I only used 7-8 gallons but put in 25 gallons. 17 gallons left in the tank at over $5 per gallon is over $85 I paid for but didn't need. Was told the best they could do was "split the gas cost" with me so I got a little over $60. I fell like I should have been credited another $25 to get up to $85. Was told "against UHaul policy". I guess its now my policy to rent from Ryder or someone else next time. Poorly maintained equipment and apparently the managers inability to make it right. I won't be back.

robert C.I own a 2018 GMC 3500 pickup with a factory installed heavy duty trailer hitch. Arriving at the uhaul dealer and attempting to connect the trailer, the s-clips attached to the trailer safety chains were too small to fit into the trailer hitch holes. I had to then locate a hardware store to purchase D-rings so that the safety chains could be attached. This delayed me over an hour. I would have thought renting a trailer from U-Haul that there trailer connections would fit a standard OEM trailer hitch from GMC without me having to find and purchase attachments to make it work.

Kyle G.A little better instructions on how to tie a car down on the trailer would have been good. I got it done from the instrutions on the fenders of the trailer, but since only one fender lowers and the instructions are on the other one. it took me a while to figure out how to get out of the car.

Teresa M.I don't think this is location specific but I was promised by a rep from the toll free uhual number that I would get a 20 foot truck and then when I picked up there were no 20 foot trucks so they downgraded me to a 15 foot truck. 5 feet doesn't sound like a big deal but when it's a one way trip it's very difficult to make up that space. All of my stuff didn't fit and I had to make other arrangements that were not easy to do. I am very disappointed with this experience because the rep on the phone told me there were trucks of that size available. I will not use uhaul again and I caution anyone who is renting a one way trip.

The person who my wife returned the rental to wa giving her a hard time making excuses as to why we would be getting charged extra until my wife showed proof of them being in the wrong. Honestly feel they weren't expecting my wife to know how rentals worked

I called back ( more of my time) booked me in Auburn .. but did not take off the 10 + miles I had to drive each way to get truck & return truck . Please fix this . Feels like with booking time & truck pick up & drop off time was 2 + days of mine. My time is $

timmy M.Check Engine light was on when I picked it up due to someone siphoning gas from the tank. Also truck brakes were terrible and the right rear wheel was leaking brake fluid in my driveway. Truck should have never been rented to me due to bad brakes.

Matthew S.you rented me a truck with a gas gauge that didn't work. since i didn't notice until the truck was partially loaded i put an extra $40 worth of gas into the tank to make sure i could reach my destination (Lacey) and assumed u-haul would do the right thing and reimburse me for the gas. all i got were excuses why i couldn't get paid back. i'll never use u-haul again!

She then noticed something had not been repaired so parked that trailer and pulled another one out, hitched it up, attached safety chains twisting them before attaching so they wouldn't drag, and checked that all lights worked properly. I was impressed. She is a valuable asset to those around her and to Uhaul!!!

Failure of promises and lack of customer service from a company that has a monopoly on a market. Have dealt with U-Haul and horrible service although when I can't think it can't get worse, I am surprised how bad it gets. I will continue to take my other business elsewhere or do without.

Much to my dismay, they do not have a fright elevator for the upper level which made it impossible for me to use it. This should be communicated clearly before reservations are made. This made the move in more stressful and time consuming as I had to go to another location for services.

James C. | Expérience généraleThe South Auburn Way UHaul has been my go-to for all my moving needs for many years. The staff are always friendly and extremely helpful. I trust them. This move was the most peculiar one I've ever experienced in my life. Pandemic issues trying to get moving help and the fact I moved 25 miles away as well as onset of a personal disability. The use of a one month storage unit was a genuine life saver. It was clean and safe and perfect for my temporary need. I have recommended this business so many times and will continue to do so. In about a year or so when I plan to move back to Auburn, I will return. The only thing I found challenging is the company's new procedure for ALL calls to go through an off site call center. I understand the reasons and help to the individual stores. For the customers, however, needing to talk to the site staff, its a real pain.
