Brandi did an amazing job assisting. The original reservation was made with a vendor, that didn't have the additional equipment I reserved. I was then sent to two other stores to get what I needed. This was extremely inconvenient and frustrating. Your website should not allow us to reserve equipment that isn't available at the pick up location. The staff was rude. This was my first experience picking up a trailer and moving across the country, so you could imagine I was nervous and didn't know how the U-Haul process worked, as I'm sure most people do not. I actually loved the service, from the person that rented the vehicle to the person that I returned the vehicle into. My only issue was with the no contact web service. It didn't work properly which caused me to have to go in store. It emailed me a code to get into the account but the verified email that they sent was not my email so I couldn't get into the account and had to go in store. Rental agent treated me like an annoyance and seemed to try many ways to discourage me from renting and to just go away. Seemed the faster I just left the better her life would be. Others in your office seemed to recognize and were helpful. We have several places rented at this facility and a nearby one as well, we don't need bubbly " happy to see you" treatment, just a basic helpful attitude. Hello! I was trying to rent a pick up truck, but when I got there all the pick up trucks were gone and I received a 17 ft moving van instead. I saw when I booked that there was a $50 dollar guarantee that the vehicle I rented would be available. How do I go about receiving this money or getting my money back for the rental?John D.
They told me and another guy to drive our vehicles to the trailers and someone would be out there to help us. We waited at least 30 minutes and finally I walked back in to the office and they had forgotten about us and didn't know where the guy was that was supposed to help us. I brought the fuel back at the same level I took it and was still charged for fuel. Also, I was charged for insurance that I declined when I made my reservation online. I called customer service at the location and the gentleman was very rude and refused to correct this mistake.Charles T.

Customer was rude and lazy. When I go to the uhaul branch in San Jose trucks are well maintained. I received a truck with the screen broken inside so I was not able to play music nor see my back up camera . The gear shaft was hard to even put in gear u had to push all the way down on the brakes then wait a couple sec then give it a couple try's before it's released to put in drive. When I returned the vehicle usually at the other branches the representative will go out and check the truck and mileage cause I use U-Haul when my trucks are down so I pay cash for the remainder balance the Caucasian representative told me I couldn't pay cash when I did this repeatedly before so I said no I'm paying cash for the remaining balance so he decided just to sit at the desk seeing the other employees where busy just sat there for 15 to 20 minutes just to wait for the other employee to finish what he was doing just to do his job with a line full of customers. This was the most unprofessional branch I have ever seen will not be returning. I would not even give someone a truck like that that's paying money for my rental service.TERRELL B.

The vehicle was very poorly mechanically maintained so it was hard to keep the vehicle in between lanes on the highway and has very high mileage on it. But the cleanliness was good so I don't recommend to keep such vehicles and use for customersKhaldoun S.
My only problem had to do with the license plate on the trailer I rented. I was pulling the trailer with my personal truck which has a Sun-Pass sticker. I tried to add the rental trailer license plate so I could use the Sun-Pass system. I was unable to add the trailer because a previous user still had that license plate on file under their account. I don't think there is anything you could have done other than remind the users to delete the tag from any Sun-Pass type accounts once they have returned the trailer.Steve S.

Stop acting like your trucks or vans are rented at a certain price. I was quoted around 32 when I booked the truck but it was twice that when I picked it up. There were more hidden fees than expected when I booked it online.Jonathan C.

Had a trailer hitch installed paid almost $500 in the guy who put it on refused to fix it so there was nothing he could do so I had to take my time and figure out how to fix it after paying almost $500 to U-Haul to have a professional trailer hitch installed which it was not installed professionally nor correct definitely would love for someone to call me and compensate me for my time and issues with getting this fixed the correct wayRandy C.

They refunded me my storage on the 10th of march for no reason. And then after randomly refunding me they have me no time to move my vehicle, then towed it to a tow yard. They also towed my other car all on the 10th , i talked to corporate and they told me I would have time to move my vehicle and a police escort will be headed out to walk me to my rv stop. The unit itself was fine the grounds were fine the lighting could've been much better especially because of the area that the storage facility is in. After dark there's a lot of commotion in the surrounding area and that really should be a paid attention to as far as Security goes and feeling comfortable being there after dark. The biggest thing that stands out and the reason that I will continue to use U-Haul storage or just U-Haul in general is the staff at that location. They were amazing. They were friendly and fun but always professional. They remembered me and waved hello when I would come in this alone made me feel like a part of the group. I felt a sense of ownership even though I was just renting. As strange as this may sound I actually felt good about going to or leaving my storage unit. Everyone was helpful from the front desk staff to some of the guys in the shop. I even left the door open to my unit one day when I was in such a hurry and wasn't thinking. They called me right away and were so kind to take care of it until I could get there just to make sure my things were secure. I moved my stuff into the storage. The area was way too tight for the moving truck to get through. Also, I tried to sell back boxes that I bought from U-Haul.. the new guy tried to help, but couldn't get it. Then Cedric hopped in and tried his very best to help me. Then the rude GM made a smart comment about me having to leave and get the receipt.. mind you, I purchased these boxes online and had a order code. Extremely ridiculous and a waste of my time. The staff does not make customers a priority. The one girl is super rude. She will ask you what you need and then go help someone else - she did this to me twice. The first time I stood in line, when I needed help returning my truck she walked outside with me, then said "I need to get the form and I will be right back". She went in to help other people and when I asked her if she was going to come back to help me she said well I have to help these people in line first, and I said I already waited for 30 minutes in that line to be helped. I had to wait another 20 minutes for someone (a guy to help me). Forget trying to call to ask 1 question, I was immediately put on hold for 10 Minutes before I could even say hello or ask my question. I had to call back 20 times before someone answered the phone, thankfully it was a manager who was able to answer my question to close out my unit.
