COMMUNICATION! No one communicated with me throughout the process unless I called consistently, cussed and fussed to get answers, which is unfortunate as I work in customer service and hate to speak to someone in that way. And even calling was a marathon as someone rarely answered, and if they did, would put me on hold for a half hour or more before the line would kick over to the main switchboard. No one told me my containers would not be picked up on time. No one told me the containers would not be shipped on time. No one told me my containers were canceled after they had already been picked up. No one told me that only one container had been shipped and the other was delayed. This was a horrible experience and I will not be using UBox for any future moves, nor will I be recommending them to anyone else. I will actively discourage people from using this service to save themselves the stress and added time of trying to track someone down for answers.ALANAFAYTH MCNEI W.

evrutime i try to book a4#8 trailer which is easier to manouver for me i get jacked up to the more expensive 5#8 which means more gaz and wear and tear on my trucks transmission i go to the location and they have several avaikable when i inquire about them they tell me oh they are reserved i take the 5#8 do my buisness and come back they are still sitting there which is frustrusting for meTONIM R.

The storage unit I had reserved was not available upon my arrival. An alternate unit selected for me was locked, so back to the front desk I went. After approximately 30 minutes of trying to get the situation resolved, I was able to unload my truck. The down time cost me 250,00 $ as I had paid help standing around waiting while you fixed your problem. I have little faith when I pick up my belongings on 8,21 the truck I have reserved through your facility will be available and I will once again pay help to stand around needlessly.Jon S. | Premières impressions

The only thing I had a issue with was having to go through 3 different storage building before they could find me one that didn't have anything in it. It seemed like they didn't know which ones were occupied already. It was a huge cluster of events. However, they were so friendly and so nice!BREANNE E.

The first half of my u-box experience was fine. After my box was shipped i kept getting calls about delivery confirmation. One person would call and give me a time, then someone else would call right after to give a different time. I hired movers through U-haul moving help. My box was delivered late so the movers charged me an additional fee for waiting. On the first attempt to deliver my box, uhaul delivered two empty boxes. I explained to the driver that my boxes were filled. She realized she mad a mistake and left to â€œget the right boxes.â€ It took hours for her to return so I was charged another moving fee because my movers had another job and had to come back another day. I dont think I will be using u-box again...Lauren W.

The location is too busy -there is too much equipment and not enough staff on site. When I was picking up the trailer, there was no parking at the facility and I had to park at the next building and walk. On the return, I couldn't find the spot to do self-return and there was no one at the equipment return place. Then finally the guy showed up and showed me the spot to park saying that he will help to unplug, but he forgot about me. Finally I did everything myself. It worked out, but I can't say I was happy about this experience.Viktar Z.

I had a 9 AM appointment, however, the store was busy and I wasn't helped until 9:20 AM. This delay impacted my planned trip. There was one highlight, when I was outside getting the trailer the one assigned to my reservation was not on the lot. The employee helping me, made the quick decision to assign me another trailer without further delay.Adam P.

If someone rents a 26' truck a month out, have the truck there. I had to take a 20' because that's all that was available. If several weeks is not enough time to get what I need, then how much time is needed? To me, when a reservation is made, a promise is made. Keep your promises. The staff was great.CHARLES W.

I reserved my uhaul for 6am which was a requirement as I only had 3 hours for my move. I got to the location and the online reservation directions told me I needed to wait until uhaul opened. I had to sit and wait an hour because my reservation locations got switched (last minute) when they transferred locations they did not put 24/7 reservation. It costed me an hour which I really needed. Also, on the handle of the pull down door there was a very sharp metal piece sticking out which my husband completely sliced his hand on and we needed to tape up, which didn't help with the entire day of moving. After I returned trailer, they failed to note it in my rental record which showed I still had it the next day, and they failed to send me an email confirming return. I called UHaul to deal with this and was put on hold for 55 minutes, then told to call the drop-off location when they next opened. Finally it was all straightened out.Andrew K.

The service was outstanding from the first greeting, to the extra help that was genuinely offered and needed because the battery on my car had died, the friendliness of the front desk staff, including the accessibility and ease of the return, I was very impressed. Only two stars because the facility was in good condition, other than the card scanner not working for anyone. Staff was extremely rude when I needed help on 06/20/21 while I was clearing out my unit. I asked to speak to the manager. A staff member told me he would go get him. Ten minutes later, no one had come to the storage area to help me, so I walked around to the office only to find that the entire staff were rushing to their cars to leave. The manager would not make eye contact with me when I called out to him, and I HAD TO STEP IN FRONT OF HIS CAR TO KEEP HIM FROM DRIVING AWAY. On top of that, he was extremely rude when I insisted that he help me access my unit. By far the best U-Haul store, truck rental and storage unit I've ever used in 20 years of military moves! The loading dock and utility carts made loading/unloading easily Half the work. Only drawback: the back is so busy and congested that backing a truck into the loading dock spaces can be a challenge....perhaps a way to enforce people not parking in front of the docks to give more room for the trucks would be nice, though I can understand the difficulty based on volume of traffic. Huge shout out to the young lady (blond w/ braces) in the office - she was always courteous, very knowledgeable and competent, and she managed all the other workers with great efficiency. Having worked with her at least 5 times, it was clearly not a one-time deal. In my career field, I promote rockstars like her and put them in charge of my most important projects. My move in was complicated by the after-hours security alarm check in process combined with the locked automatic sliding door. This detailed instruction was not part of the check-in process. The difficulty was quickly explained and accommodated by one call to the on-call facility manager. In hind sight, if such instructions had been included in the emailed instructions, I might have complained that it was complicated and confusing. Storage was good. Frustration is that signage is bad and phones are never answered. Nothing tells you that main doors close when front does even though access hours are longer. I was told it's in the contract but who keeps their contract with them every time they visit. There is nothing that tells you to take a photo of an empty unit. there were some problems with the rental of the truck when Uhaul claimed they couldn't find our reservation and rented us a more expensive truck. That was later made right. My complaint is that when we were in the storage unit someone tried to unlock their unit without having first swiped their card at the entrance and a VERY LOUD alarm went off. The alarm was a decibel level that caused hearing damage. My husband's ears are now ringing nonstop and the tinnitus is interfering with normal lilfe. It has been a week and it appears that the damage is permanent. We are furious. I would have given five stars except for three things: 1. There was confusion about the free month. This is the second time that staff members made an error since my original move-in date in May, which caused unnecessary stress. I also wasted a lot of time rechecking my online account for updates. 2. If I hadn't thought to check for the promised free month on my account before my last visit and if Craig, the GM, hadn't been there when I went inside, I believe I would have had to file a complaint. The guy standing next to Craig at the counter sounded like he didn't believe me when I explained that I had been promised a free month both via email and on the phone after my van rental. 3. The unit is supposed to be climate controlled. I was unable to visit it in all of the months between May and October to check. When I went there twice in October to deposit items and then pick up some items I forgot, it was humid inside and musty smelling. I can only keep my fingers crossed that my belongings, especially any paper and fabric ones, come out of it okay. Otherwise, this U-Haul storage is definitely a place that I recommend for self-storage. It's large and has plenty of units. There are bathrooms on each floor and an easy-to-use elevator. My one complaint that I have is that I arrived at the location at 9pm and the location was closed. I had no notice that the storage part was combined with the truck rental part so I assumed that the storage place would be staffed until 10pm. I think the website should clearly state that you can not sign the contract/ get keys past 7pm. It just states storage access until 10pm. We elected to move our belongings from a U-box to a storage unit at the Springfield VA facility. When our U-box was being shipped, we received an email offer for one month of free storage. My wife called and booked a storage unit, but later it was clear this reservation was made (I got a call to schedule U-box delivery which of course was not necessary, and then I had to reserve a storage unit at the U-haul facility when I went to access the U-box). Overall the process of accessing the U-box and transferring belongings to a storage unit was not clearly explained, and there seems to be a communication disconnect between the storage rentals team (front retail area of the facility), the shipping/receiving/warehouse department and U-haul's central customer support hotline. Told me they had the van and auto transport that I needed, then said they don't have it anymore. Sent me 40 miles away to leesburg store what supposedly had it.
