The guys that work outside like the helpers that hook trailers and inspect the vehicles are way to slow

Adrian FThe most frustrating experience at this location. I waited in line to pick up my reservation. The staff gave me keys to trucks that were not accessible. This happened more than once. They should know the order of the vehicles parked. I had to switch vehicles multiple times and staff had to move vehicles blocking mine before I could leave. This was especially frustrating because I had to go to the back of the building multiple times to locate the trucks, only to be blocked. Finally I just looked for the ID # of the truck and asked for that one. Staff should have this information. As a customer I should not be making multiple times to the back and front desk to get the correct truck. As a result I was late for my event. Really bad way to start the day. I will be looking at renting elsewhere.

Jonathan RThis location saved my move today. I booked online at sharwarma place but when I got there it said an equipment has not been reserved to my order. I then spoke to a U-Haul customer care agent who told me sharwarma location does not do after hours pick up and rerouted me Weston. There was no one at sharwarma place to take my call or help. But Weston was magnificent, helpful, courteous staff, knows what they are doing, took the time to explain everything, was professional and courteous. Highly recommend weston location.

Michael MWe didn't get the U-haul on the reserved time & when we asked for the reservation guarantee refund: 1. They bluntly denied to give us that. 2. They suggested to call the customer care if we wanted to get that. 3. They "suggested" us to wait for "an hour". 4. They also hinted there was less possibility of us getting a utility dolly that we had reserved. The staff at this location was very rude and unprofessional, specially the person who was dealing with us was Mohit. I hope UHaul management takes a look on this and takes necessary actions where required.
Rahul RI would like to express my disappointment with this location. Every single time I've had to pick up 2 Uboxes from this location there has always been an issue. I've been contacting uhaul to confirm with them the order for weeks prior, up untill the day before and for some reason the order wasn't ready. The excuse was that they did not have a double trailer for both the uboxes which means I would have had to make two trips, mind you , the customers home was 30 mins away. And appearantly the ubox location for pick up was changed to a scarborough location 2 days before. This made no se se to me. After an hour and a half, finally the clerk allocated 2 uboxes. We made it to three customer only for the security to tell us that we have less than an hour to do the move because the elevator was booked at a certain time and there were other movers waiting in que. Therefore it took over 6 hours to complete the move instead of 3 hours and caused me to cancel my other plans. If the uhaul location does not have the uboxes ready or a double trailer then DO NOT schedule the customers order for the service provider to show up to pick up the uboxes and they're not ready. I'm very upset and extremely disappointed with your ubox services.

Paul HOnce again even on a long weekend the team down there at the Stockyards in York on Weston rd never failed to make everything run nice and smooth I was even given an extended rental to complete a job that I had to do with the schedule under pressure the manager Tanya moved some things around logistics and insured everybody got out including myself, I've been using the company for some of my bigger jobs and it's been a godsend being a regular now You get to know the team who are always willing to readjust and tweak to get you out the door and get to work they actually house two storage bases for me as well now for my work material It's a one-stop shop and the branding attitude and overall culture for the company definitely progressively changing for the better down at the location I wouldn't go anywhere else now lol thanks guys

Sagar MMy auto pay is charged to my credit card every 24th of the month, but I'd had a security breach on my credit card so it was replaced. On calling the new card # in last week to U-Haul office the service rep. took new info fine but neglected to assign my locker # to the new card so the payment failed - another clerk called me informing my payment failed and then took my locker # and was able to take my payment immediately. I am not happy that the 1st service rep did not take the information properly and put my payment contract in jeopardy for my locker rental through no fault by me.

I don't think I'll be using Uhaul again and I'll definitely warn my friends of the poor quality.

JACOB SI had reserved a truck and two dollies nearly two months in advance of my moving date and U-Haul failed to honour the reservation as they had changed the location of my truck pickup with less than 24 hours' notice to a location that was much farther away from the location I had reserved pickup at. They also did not provide a single dolly (reminder: I had reserved two of them) to which I was provided with a response of "first come, first served". What is even the point of reserving if that is the policy? U-Haul knew how to take the reservation, but they definitely didn't know how to hold the reservation, and that's really the most important part of the reservation. The truck I was provided with was also nearly empty on fuel and was blocked in by two other trucks in the lot, so this required taking unexpected added time to resolve.

Nathan MBooked storage unit online. Showed up and no storage unit was available. no other units of similar size available. Larger unit was available at a much higher monthly price, staff refused to discount the larger unit. Had an apartment's worth of stuff all packed up and was left with no storage unit because staff refused to pro use the larger available unit at the same price as the smaller one. The location should never have given me the unit or allowed me to book the unit and then they offered no help to rectify the situation.

MENDELORAIN KHad a reservation two months ahead at Greenwood Toronto location. Was called the day before by uhaul to confirm. They told me I had to go to Weston location, over 45 min away from my home and much further from where I made my reservation. I was transferred to head office and was told "that is the way it is". What is the point of the reservation if they can send you to any location in the city? I was also told by the person on the phone that I would get an additional 50kms added to my trip and that was not done by the person at the counter. So I ended up paying additional kms fee when dropping off the truck. Bottom line the reservation means nothing and you need to do everything again at the counter. Even the drop off destination and price had needed to be changed at the counter. Dont go with Uhaul, find a company that honors their reservations and compensates customers for inconveniences.

Communication was great except I did receive a couple of emails from the Arizona office with arbitrary pick up times that I had to take the time to call about (is there a bug in your system?). Besides that, UHaul did what it said it would do and that took off so much stress. Fortement recommandé!

Jeff DI booked this truck at a different location and then my reservation was switched to this location. Extremely hard to access this location, especially in a large moving truck, there is no customer parking so you have to leave your personal car in street parking or the very small Tim Hortons lot down the street, and I was not given instructions on where to actually return the truck in the lot so we left it around the side as the front lot was totally full and staff were annoyed we did that and told us we had to move it. When we asked them to do the reversing into the correct return spot they were annoyed. Would not recommend this location to anyone it's super frustrating hence the reason I didn't not originally book here in the first place.
Kristie H1. Don't wait until the day before I've scheduled my move to tell me the truck I wanted, the time I wanted it, and the pickup location ALL have changed. 2. Don't give me a truck that indicates an oil level warning. Also, if you're going to give me a truck with an ice-covered windshield leave a scraper in the cab. And don't give me a truck parked so close between two other vehicles it requires a ten point turn to safely get it out of the lot. 3. Don't allow your desk representative to yell at customers because they are being told the service costs one price while they are being asked to accept a higher price on the POS terminal. 4. Don't charge customers the mileage fee because the truck they were given was smaller than the one they needed and the move required an additional trip. U-Haul cost me time and money because they underserved me in every single aspect.

Sarah HLook at the messages sent on the website and app more from the office instead of jumping to a stolen car report. I had an embarrassing experience When I updated the location about me waiting for my other driver since I fired one. I was treated like I was trying to steal the vehicle, which I was not. I did not like this at all, and I would not do anything that would hurt the reputation of my business, which is incorporated as well. I am on the phone with workers often, plus I work from home and home with my three children, and sometimes texting or messaging through the app or website is easier.

Hopeton HI reserved some items last minute and they for the most part did their best to accommodate me. I notified the staff that the vehicle is at 3/4 of the tank and not the 7/8 noted on the documents. They acknowledged this and I left and returned it as it was. I was subsequently charged for gas that was not in the vehicle to begin with. That was $7 this time but imagine another? That's very dishonest practice. I have video proof from when I first entered the vehicle. This was my first experience but I'm very discouraged.

Did the mobile pickup and dropoff for Uhaul and was not a pleasant experience. I wasted 45 minutes of my booked time at the beginning. I should have been informed that the process takes a long time then I would have started earlier. Same thing at the dropoff. It is a convenient service however its time consuming and this should be conveyed to clients.

They found none but changed the lock on the door. When I came back after a long time abroad, I was met with a very unprofessional staff member who left me waiting over an hour to get a new key for the new lock, but in the end they couldn't find it and I had to return on another date. This was inconvenient. Then, when I vacated my unit I did find water damage to boxes of books. The insurance policy is a long a tedious process which requires receipts for items I bought years ago.

My only complaint is that when I originally booked my storage unit, the one I wanted was not available and I had no choice but to take a much larger unit and pay DOUBLE the price of the one I booked which was available online and the website let me complete the reservation - however when I arrived they said it wasn't available and my only option was to take the 5x10 walk-in unit. The website should ACCURATELY reflect the inventory. I was not expecting to pay almost $200 per month when the one I reserved was $79

It wasn't a rectangular shape and there was a column part of the wall that took up square footage that took up space meaning lost sq footage. The front desk and customer service rep couldn't provide me with an alternate unit and I was forced to cancel. U-Haul should take not that unit 3040 feels like an afterthought and should not be sold to future customers at the price of a 8x4x8 unit.

Joshua A | Expérience généraleWhen I first rented my locker, I rented a truck with it. I discussed with the desk worker that I'd be returning at 11pm to move items to my locker and return the truck. When I arrived, I discovered the facility was closed and I couldn't gain access. This was not mentioned as a possibility beforehand by any member of staff. In order to resolve the issue, I had to contact a U-Haul representative from Texas to have my rental extended and had to spend money on an overnight parking space for the truck. The next day when I arrived, I found the locker I'd been assigned had a broken door. It was not and could not be closed due to the damage. I went to the office to request a different unit. I was told there no units of the same size available, but that I would be switched to a different locker at the same price of $89/m. When I received my bill, I discovered that was incorrect and I was being charged greater than $150/m. If I were informed of this initially, I would not have chosen that option. It took nearly two weeks for me to get in contact with a manager to correct the invoice. When I was finally able to contact a manager, I was told the price continuing onward would be $150/m. When I arrived to pay my bill the following month, I was charged greater than that amount. On this occasion, the desk worker put through the correct charge without much trouble on my end. However, that error should not have happened in the first place and I should not have had to reach out to the office to pay my bill when I had set up my account through the U-Haul app to be payable digitally. Additionally, the office area at 355 Weston Rd is not wheelchair accessible. Though there is a ramp to the door, it is not possible to open the door and exit the building while using a wheelchair. I have a dynamic disability, requiring differing mobility aids at different times and when I arrived in a wheelchair, I needed to request assistance from desk staff to open the door for me, reducing my dignity and independence, and leaving business unaligned with the Ontario Accessibility Standards and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act 2005. I hope you will review your staff training so they are aware of costs that will be put upon customers, and that you will review the discriminatory inaccessibility of your building so your business can align itself with provincial and federal standards. It also had a pipe that removed storage area that had not been noted in the reservation info (other units noted pillars in the unit). The staff were quick and helpful in assisting with securing a new unit for me. The service was very good. Access hours for loading dock access could be extended on Sundays. This is a major moving day for many and there were many other customers making use of the area on Sunday evening while I was there. Overall I was pleased and impressed with the facility.

The attendant showed me the options and for my need the ideal size was 5'x7', $ 84,95 per month. As I did not have the desired size available at that time, I checked it on the internet until an availability appeared and booked it. On Saturday, April 29, I went to the store to make the deal. We confirmed again the information, size, model and values and made the payment. After everything was done, I went to the storage to see the location, on the way we found the employee who attended us initially and he accompanied us, when he arrived there was an employee cleaning and we thought it was strange, because our storage would be at the top and they said it was the bottom one, the smallest. Then all my annoyance began, because they wanted to convince me that it was the same storage, that it had the same storage size!! What do you mean? No one is stupid, of course it was not the same size, it was the smallest, 5'x5', and they tried to convince me and say that it was 5x5x5 and not 5x5x8, at no time of the 3 times I was at U-Haul they told me these differences, they showed me only 5x7 and 5x5, This is a deception, misleading advertising from U-Haul, I have the photos here of the storages that you have on display in the stores. Anyway, I went back to the office and talked to the manager, who just didn't care about the unpleasant situation I went through and the wrong information that the employees gave me too, and she just told me that that size of storage has not been available for a long time!! Unfortunate!! So why did it appear on the availability website? I made the reservation!! And if I wasn't available, why didn't they inform me when I got there? And on top of that they tried to convince me that I was wrong?? Did they fool me? Of course I canceled everything and I am very disappointed with U-Haul's service.

KANISTA M | Expérience généraleMy experience at this location was abysmally disappointing enough to swear of U-Haul for any future consideration and compels me to warn any friends from ever using your company again. Over many years, I have utilized your rental vehicles, but this 14 month locker rental has me rethinking. Upon every attempt to acquire the attention of your service people at this location, I've had to wait un unimpressive amount of time. Yet behind the large, so-called "one way" mirror that leads to the back room, I could always see the employees chatting among themselves, sometime typing away on their phones before acknowledging me waiting patiently for their service. And when they finally did come into play, they'd walk to the desk, even if I was all alone waiting and simply bleat "NEXT!" Purely unacceptable customer service. Lastly, your policy of non-refundable payment on a prorated basis sickens me, I paid $200 for 2 days of storage for the month of December. You should prorate a refund for days unused. Sickening that you don't when your competitors do. I'm happy to tell you that I will never use U-Haul again and will overtly go out of my way to dissuade friends from using U-Haul. Orett C | Expérience généraleI was pretty disappointed with the dimensions and location of the locker (ie not at ground level and very awkward to pack). I rented a 5x5x8 locker and it is not that size. I had to store a queen size bed, which is heavy, but not rigid. The bed does not fit neatly within the locker due to the smaller dimensions and I had to lift it up to the second level up some risky moveable steps. Because the door was not 5 feet across, the interior dimensions not 5 feet across and the locker was almost 6 feet above ground level, it was extremely difficult to put my bed in there. Because I had to store my bed on an angle in the locker, I will not be able to store much more of my stuff in there. It is what it is. Place is very clean (although the rodent trap in there makes me a bit nervous - hopefully nothing dies in there and stinks up my mattress and the small amount of clothing I was able to store); staff is nice and friendly; the facility seems secure. I'll still rent trailers and stuff from UHaul, but I probably won't store stuff there anymore.

They somehow messed up at every interaction I ad with them: truck being late, rental equipment not being available, passcode for after hours access not working after being set up, being charged for a second day of rental due to not being able to store my items in the storage unit since the password they gave me was wrong and having nowhere to go (I was told I wouldn't be). After all this I was told it's my fault for sleeping in the truck nearby instead of spending money on a hotel, I was told to "figure it out" when calling for support about my passcode for after hours access not working (they set up the wrong one instead of using my phone number). Nobody there really cares about you as a customer or even a human being for that matter. But the staff at the location was nice and friendly though. Rent at a nearby warehouse.

LUCIANO C | Expérience généraleRep "sold" me a unit explaining that it was the expected size and even showed me in person the sample unit in the showroom, we agreed to go ahead. He gave me a price, I did not check, started the billing cycle and he proceeded to charge my card. Then a couple days later we brought our boxes up only to find that 40 % of the unit was inaccessible due to concrete bulk head and roll up door interior. We wasted days and hired help having to relocate to another unit, promised to be the same price. AFTER we relocated all our stuff they automatically charged me more saying "well it's a bigger unit" without agreeing with me first. AGAIN wasted a week and had to hire help again to come and remove everything as it was not in our budget and frankly the service was horrible. Staff would stand by with a blank look while the elevator didn't work, and said we had to walk around the building to get them to find help at the front desk, all while she was standing there doing nothing holding a radio and a mobile phone. Doing nothing. Wandering around checking her phone doing who knows what but defo not customer service. I've never had such bad service anywhere. Wasted at least $300 on nothing and 10 days of redundant service and waste precious time trying to move house - setting me back at least 2 weeks timeline besides the wasted money. Total waste of my money and time. I'll be making the same complaint public on Google and BBB.

It was bizarre, since that didn't fix the issue. Two months later, my locker was flooded. Again. With sewage. It was awful. I lost a few boxes. The management did not offer to compensate me, or to move me to a locker that would be less prone to flooding. The flood issue has been subsequently fixed (so they say), but I would not recommend this storage facility.

The second time around we found we had to wait a bit because the sliding doors were not open we ask two times the first time around and then when we went to go grab our things to give them time to open to get to our truck the doors were still not open. Both of my moves where very stressful (naturally) and having uhaul representatives not able to find my reservation to assist me/ reservations not being properly connected caused a domino effect of problems . There was an internal system error that delayed my move by a day. I ended up finding a hotel to sleep in for the night and paying extra unplanned costs. Calling the main uhaul number I am being transferred to different folks who aren't able or willing to help me in my dispute. I was informed that even though an internal error caused this issue I would need to speak to the general manager of Toronto to settle my dispute. When she called me from +1 (416) 335-1260 she said her name was Karen. Her demeanour was very defensive and rude. She hung up on me, when I called back I spoke to a person named Donna who left me on hold for an hour of complete silence and never called back Every in-person interaction I've had with uhaul customer service at Stockyards location has been great - calling in for assistance to the main uhaul number has been a nightmare. I am left with the impression that because I already paid my rental fees there is no real interest in assisting me Very appreciated of the folks in person at the location to assist. They were amazing help along the way - But I am very disappointed and sad to say the least about Uhauls system for following up post-move to settle disputes. Because of this I am left with a poor experience and do not feel valued as a customer

This made paying for my storage unit a complete hassle and waste of time. Multiple times I had to take time off work and go out of my way to pay for my storage unit in person rather than online or on the phone. I personally wouldn't recommend your service to anyone who chooses to pay with visa debit opposed to a credit card. If you fix those issue I would though.

So when I went to check in I asked the lady at the desk if it would be big enough to hold my queen size bedroom so she took me to show me the size that they reserved on phone ,it were not what I needed so she gave me the bigger size a 5by 6by 7 but it too small. I think they should educate there employees of the sizes appropriately for customers description. Also there were not enough moving cart for a search a big and well known facility. There were only 4 carts and numerous people were moving. The alarm keeping on going off when using the elevator even when you put the code. Also there were no one to assist you at the facility everyone is at the office only one person at the front desk the to help the customers and we had to wait about an hour to get help another person, while customers coming and going because of the long wait time.

Fortunately, another similar size unit was available. It worked out, as the unit I thought I was getting needed a ladder to access it and we had several heavy pieces of furniture. Parking was confusing but ultimately manageable. I think the U-haul website should mention that some lockers are accessible only by a ladder and should also mention that walk-ins are honoured over reservations. Other than those two suggestions, this particular site is very, very nice and I would recommend it to others.

I figured I have all day of the 26th *as is convenient for me* to store my belongings.. makes sense right? I received a voicemail on the 26th at 3pm from staff saying that they assume I've moved out and will be cancelling my storage unit. WUT? So I called back within 10 min saying, no, please leave my unit for me I just haven't had the time to come and bring my belongings yet and I've only just booked the unit the night before! I would probably be there later that evening, as I understand storage access hours are until 10pm. They said no problem. I get to the facility at 7:30pm with a truck full of my things, only to find that my access code is denied as well as there is no lock for the unit I booked. I can't talk to anyone about remedying the situation because office is closed, and head office (although available) obviously can't help get me in to my unit. So I have to go back home and unload everything that I had loaded up, just so I could repeat the process the next day when office opens. Frustrating obviously. Either your online booking system has some bugs, or the girl I talked to on the phone that afternoon didn't do her job. I would like to say though that the staff member who helped me get in on the morning of the 27th (and had served me in the past for other services) was lovely, and this woman deserves a raise.

When using the mop the whole place would end up smelling musty. Would highly recommend getting a fox washing machine and dryer to wash and change the mop heads out or just put a new mop head on every 3-4 weeks. Also after using the mop store it upside down so it can dry, don't leave it in the bucket (can't dry in the bucket). Overall, customer service, access, security was great, thanks so much!

Your office employees did not deal with those rude customers and let them park their truck in the driveway anyway. They were also using all the building moving equipment and hoarding the elevator for themselves. You need to put up instruction rules on the use of the facility and not allow people like to act this way. We pay movers by the hour and this was a waste of my time and money. If you fine those rude customers they will stop acting this way but ignoring this behaviour will make you lose customers like me.

First of all-I was told that there was the size I wanted and that for sure it was there when I came back to move my stuff in… and then I came back another day and there wasn't any of the size I wanted. Also along with the inconvenience every time I was in the store waiting to talk to people-the wait time was ridiculous and honestly the staff were slow with doing things. We came yesterday to empty our storage since it was no longer needed. When the elevator door opened small dishaveled man carring plastic bag came out. Some liquid was trickling down from that bag and when we entered the elevator small puddle of brownish liquid was on the elevator floor.The stench was unbearable!!!! It smelled like stale urin. Awful!!! I have told two staff members about it. I believe one staff member told the small disheveled man to pick up that stinky plastic bag which he just left by the automatic door of the storage facility entrance. However, no one cleaned the elevator floor. The stench in the elevator was so terrible that every time we had to take it to get our stuff out was nauseating.

Hazel S | Premières impressionsOur unit was recently affected due to the flood in the facility. We did appreciate receiving a phone call from the front office to check for damage. Based on the watermarks on our items, there was at least a foot of water in our unit. We paid for the additional insurance provided as an option by U-Haul and were encouraged by the front office to file a claim. We filed a claim and it was immediately denied because U-Haul told the insurer the flood was caused by the city sewers overflowing and this was not covered by the insurer. Did U-Haul file a claim with the city if this in fact was the cause of the flood? Did U-Haul offer to pass on any compensation received from the city to those tenants affected? Did U-Haul offer any compensation for our inconvenience and time clearing out the unit, throwing out hundreds of dollars worth of property and trying to salvage what we could? (but honestly, we didn't know what was in that water...) No follow up from U-Haul at all. Basically we paid for additional insurance (again offered by U-Haul) which isn't covering any of our losses. It seems like the customers are the ones out of pocket from this and we had no recourse but to stop using the facility altogether.

And is anyone going back to look at the video footage of someone trying to break into my unit? Should a police report be filed? I'm pretty sure you guys are just going to forget about the issue. Paul H | Premières impressionsIt was my first time moving into self storage, and I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was very pleasantly surprised at this location. Purchasing, check in, and access was simple and secure both for pedestrian and cars (you can pull right into a covered loading dock for self storage). I purchased a climate controlled locker and was surprised how clean and well lit the facility was. Although my unit was on the 2nd floor, the elevator worked smoothly and there were wheeled carts available to borrow. I was impressed to find a poison control box in my storage unit too. I enjoyed how the entrance to self storage is located close to the front, rather than the back of other self storage facilities I've seen. The only small inconvenience were the steps / ledge at the loading dock for smaller/van-sized vehicles. There was not a lot of room to move large furniture and it required lifting from the van to the ledge at chest level. More room and a ramp would have been ideal, but with 2 or more people it is not a problem. Although there was a bit of a wait (Sunday) the day I moved in, all representatives were very pleasant and helpful, and the general manager was accommodating when I requested a unit on a lower floor. They were also helpful when I was unsure about what size storage locker to purchase. All in all, I had a very positive experience and an optimistic about leaving my personal belongings at this facility.

There should be a warning on the door, watch your head, especially because the compartments on either side have normal height doors. I went home with my face covered in blood. I am not sure how it was possible but it too 40+ minutes, not including the time I waited in line. This cost us an extra 200+ dollars from our movers because we had to book them longer.
