The truck was dirty on the inside, and the mirrors were inoperable. I had to duct tape the mirror on the driver's side to keep it up enough so that I could see the traffic behind me. Neither mirror was able to be adjusted enough to work very well. Multiple warnings were going to warn me of numerous alerts. The manager told me to ignore them because there were faulty sensors. After I returned my U-Haul, i realized i accidentally left my personal highway transponder on the dashboard. I was not close to this location at the time, so i decided to look up the number and call. first off, there was no possible way for me to just call the direct store, so i had to be on hold for half an hour. eventually someone picked up and said they would try to help, she put me on hold for 2 hours. eventually i hung up. I spent 15-20 minutes waiting for someone to hook up the trailer. The person in the yard said it was the responsibility of the person behind the counter and the person behind the counter told me to see the person in the yard. I got the run around from both of them. After 15-20 minutes the person in the yard came over and hooked up the trailer. I had to upgrade my original reservation to a larger unit to store my belongings. When I got to my larger unit, there was a massive pillar in it which takes up a great deal of space that I needed. I didn't have the time or energy to go back and change units AGAIN as I was on a time limit to get things done. My storage units got wet due to rain. Still haven't heard back from the manager before I left the state. My furniture was damaged due to 2 out of 3 of my storage units being wet in August after the rain. Filed a insurance claim with RepWest and the claim was closed due to no response from Joey. Clean the trucks out and make sure if there are not enough trucks available for people who pre booked online to let them know ahead of time or remedy the situation. I booked on state st in Milwaukee and they moved me to 1st st without telling me and then when I get to 1st st location they didn't have enough trucks so I had to wait for the next day. The following day the system is down on 1st st. I have booked with uhaul before and never had these issues. Customer service is key. Every time I rent with Uhaul, there is new problem. It never goes smooth and easy. This time, the entire truck check-out system was down. A line of 15+ customers were stuck trying to get their equipment and struggling to use their phones to go online, myself included. Self check in was a disaster. Truck keys were not where the check in said they would be. I had to go in. Inside there were 2 employees and a line of 15 people. After 30 minutes a 3rd employee finally showed up. He smelled as though he had clearly recently smoked Marijuana. When I finally got to the front the employee told me the keys were actually on the building, contradictory to what the online check in said. They were not, he then finally issued me a completely different truck. The most frustrating part of the experience was a number of people who made no reservation were issued a truck before me. What was the point of a reservation then? The truck also had only a half tank of gas, which was how I returned it but still frustrating if I had needed to travel farther. Overall I feel like the level of customer service was completely unacceptable. I will be avoiding uhaul in the future as a result of my experience.Jacob W.

There for, I had to go across town to a different location that was more expensive as well. The fact that I traveled across town, would mean, I'm paying more for milage and gas as well. Tell people the truth about the delivery capacity so they can plan accordingly. Do not promise to do something and then make excuses on the backend about labor shortages. You knew you did not have enough drivers and delivery people when you made the â€œguarantees.â€ Stop the misleading refund for late delivery policy. Telling me the box made it to the state, so it is not late, and then taking another 7 days pass the delivery date to bring it to my house because â€œyou don't have driversâ€. Is really frustrating and cruel. If you would have just said upfront, â€œwe are short delivery drivers and it may take up to 5-7 days to get your box to you once it arrives in stateâ€, I would have respected that and not lost total trust in your company. People understand what is going on in the job/hiring market and have more empathy when told the truth, not lies. Uhaul do better - you can I know it. There should be no one able to touch you in this market - you are slipping and there is no reason to this to happen.Laurice M.

I just got done moving to Milwaukee with my rented UHaul truck. When I arrived the front desk setup my access key to the wrong building so I had to go back to the front desk to get the correct access key for my storage unit building. As I open my storage unit there is no lock in there so I had to go back up to the front again to get the lock. In the process I received an email my reservation was canceled. When everything was moved into the unit, I dropped off the truck with a gentleman working with the UHaul drop offs. Van was easy to find. Mostly clean (cab needed to be wiped down, sticky substance around). Always a funny smell in the vans like wet dog, maybe it's the ozone machine, but could use a nice spray with air freshener or something. Vans should always be filled up to Full. I was never given the key pad code to the pad lock on the back of the truck. I sat outside of someone's house with furniture outside calling uhaul for an hour. I could not get an answer from the locations phone number and when I called uhauls customer service number they kept rerouting me to numbers that also did not answer or could not help. I eventually had to have my brother go to the uhaul store and het the code manually and call me. I will never use uhaul again. This was my first time and it was a terrible experienceAlyssa C.

The website said that I was ordering a truck with a 15' long box. Instead I got one that was only 12' long. The clerk argued with me when I told him that. The website said that I would be charged 43,95 $ + 0,65 per mile. When I got there, I was told that I would be charged 62,50 $. When I returned the truck, the clerk refused to inspect the truck and just took the keys and told me that I would be emailed a receipt. I still haven't gotten the receipt, but I was charged 86,92 $ . I would like to know why. I returned the truck empty and clean with the same amount of gas that it had when I left and I believe that I drove it less than the 15 miles I had expected. I would like an itemized receipt and I would like to be refunded the amount that I was overcharged.THOMAS S.

So I had tos it there for an hour and 20 mins waiting for them to open to get the truck. The people we spoke with were very helpful but the office hours of only being open until 7 pm were very inconvienient as we had been packing all day and showed up to check in 10 min before close. My experience was also poor as the key card I was given after checking it, when swiped to open the door, gave the message "not valid please check in" or something like that...right after I had checked in about 20 min previous. We got lucky and someone walked out and we went in and when opening my storage unit an alarm went off probably because the system didn't know we were in there. Lastly, turning in the truck was an absolute pain because there was no obvious area on the website to turn in the truck as we were there after store hours. I watched your informational video and the "return your truck" button was no where to be found. My girlfriend eventually figured it out but this was after about 45 min of googling things and attempting to call the help line only to be on hold the entire time. The whole experience was terrible and I am also fairly sure I was charged twice for the truck because when turning it in I had to put in my card information again for some random unknown 71 $charge after already paying 62 $to innitially rent the truck. This payment has yet to show up on a bank statement so I am unsure if it has gone through but if it does there will be an angry phone call. Overall the customer service was amazing and the people were extremely nice and very helpful and made the rental process very easy, but nearly every other part of the experience was ridiculously stressful.Paul D. | Premières impressions

This facility has went down hill over last 2 years. The staff used to be helpful and knowledgeable which is no longer the case. The manager is still actually helpful and knows what is going on however. When I moved in initially I had reserved a second floor unit. On day of move in with a 21 foot truck of household items, the only elevator was inaccessible as it was being painted, majority inconvenient. The manager did help me find a unit on first floor at higher cost. The facility alarm system constantly went off anytime I would access my unit. Initially the badge reader never worked so I was given a PIN number for access.. however it appears the alarm system had issues this spring and would constantly be going off when accessing unit. I tried calling office however no one answered. I pushed the call box and no one responded, it was literally a ghost town. So I can not say the place was secure during this time as no one responded and the alarms just kept sounding. It seems like alarm system now works properly and disarms again while I was moving out in June. I did mobile check out but also confirmed with staff upon leaving because it seems like Uhaul mobile apps do not work as intended. I went to the location at 1500 South 1st Street on Tuesday May 18th to reserve a storage unit. When I got there on Friday at 6:30 PM with movers who were ready to unload their truck, I was told that there was no record of me in the U-Haul system, and the size unit I needed was unavailable. I ended up having to take a unit at the 611 West Puetz location in Oak Creek. Not ideal, but better than nothing. This delay resulted in the movers going into overtime and leaving with all of my belongings on their truck. I will have to pay a 160 $storage fee, and everything will be delivered on Monday. Storage rental was fine, but this was accompanied by a truck rental. I had a reservation that was cancelled for some reason and I went online to reserve again the morning of my move to when I got the cancellation notice and booked again. I got to U-Haul a little early to see if there was a truck available early, which there was not. I was advised to come back at 2:00 because the 26' truck would be ready. When I got back there was no 26' truck or 20' truck. The staff told me they couldn't help me and offered no explanation why my reservation couldn't be fulfilled. I had no option other than going with a 10' truck. That required me to make not 1, but 3 separate trips while moving. 10/10 would NOT recommend using Walkers Point U-Haul reservations.William B. | Premières impressions

My lock was cut off by U haul and replaced with out my knowledge. When I asked if they cut my lock off they lied to me I had to pay 100 $for a locksmiths to cut off their lock they put on just to find my lock cutoff inside the locker which I took pictures of. I got to the location and asked for help finding my pre-paid locker to which I had to wait over a half hour for and then the staff worker couldn't find it. He dropped me at the locker and walked away and there was a lock on the locker. Then I had to wait in the line for another hour to get a different locker. This location was so disorganized, the staff was not knowledgeable, the people working seemed like they had never worked there a day in their life or as if they were on drugs.Lilly m. | Premières impressions

I used U-Haul for the primary purpose of renting a van to move my son from Neenah to Port Washington. That went well. I then utilized free rental of a storage space for a 7-8 days before we could move my son into his new living space. The staff encountered technical difficulties and my given code and later a card did not work to gain access to the space. Then after we moved out of the space, after informing the attendant of moving out, I later got late notices for not paying for the next month. After sending an e-mail to the individual who sent me the notice with a copy of the ending of the storage rental, I got another notice regarding a lien on the items in storage (which was none). This time I called to complain and it was then taken care of. Also, at times, staff were away from the front desk for extended periods of time such that I could no longer wait.JAMES P. | Expérience générale

My experience started off bad, as the staff member known as JJ, put his information in as emergency contact. I originally had a unit that was to small, I changed it the same day for a bigger unit. My movers notified me that same day that they had put some things in the smaller unit and at this time the office was closed. I wasn't able to gain access to the unit. I spoke with the "then manager" David he stated JJ could get me into the unit, since it had a lock and a note stating access was denied for none payment of rent, which David said the cleaning crew had put on. JJ stated he couldn't get me in because he had never seen the kind of lock and they didn't have a key. I continued to stop in and also call David and was told the unit had been rented and no one knew where my thing's were. I spoke to the off site representatives several times also and got no results. I spoke to the "new" manager Elgin regarding my thing's and no results. I also spoke with Elgin regarding a leaking pipe outside my unit that was to be checked on. When I began to move my thing's out I again inquired about my thing's and was told by the "new" manager Joe that I would have to file a police report. After moving my thing's out I called and was connected to an off site representative, and explained that there was damage to my couch from the pipe that I was attempting to try and use the move out online feature and wasn't able to, and I also sent a message from the site to the "now" manager Joe and got no response. She stated she would send a message also and I explained I had been trying to reach the office regarding the leaking and the damage, was told I would have to speak to the office and I explained I wasn't able to get through any time I called. The representative transferred me to customer care and I still never spoke with anyone. This has been my only option to express my concerns fully and it has been 5 day's since leaving the email for the manger and 4 day's since the off site representative sent her message. My overall experience was horrible after 16 months of storing my thing's and the continued staff turn over and no results regarding my concerns.TEASHA H. | Expérience générale
I was given a free month of storage for two units because they didn't have 1 unit big enough for what I needed it for. That was helpful and I was grateful. However, I found later that I didn't need the units so I called and cancelled them. I was assured that it was cancelled. I started receiving letters about owing the facility. I called several more times and also showed up in person twice and was assured that both units were cancelled by the manager. I still continue to receive calls. Very disappointed at the end. In October I asked that I be taken off of automatic pay. I paid for October and November. In December we emptied out the locker first thing in the morning and got home and found out that you charged the card for December. I am hoping that this can be corrected. Also. The employees were very friendly and helpful. I had a reservation, it was not communicated to this location and they had to find me a new space, which was done quickly and effectively. I don't understand why the U-haul corporation has such a hard time with their reservations, if this location didn't have space available I would have been screwed. It was short staffed and the wait time standing in line was too long. I stood in line almost an hour. I paid for a storage unit and got someone else's storage, then I had to return to get the correct storage unit. The 24 access was ok but no cards available to use. I tripped over a bike rack. Scratched my face and they had no first aid kit available. This was a very bad situation. For a class organization as this I thought this was not good. The person working during my check-in did not know what they were doing. They had me pay for a lock before I got into my unit, even though there already was a lock in my unit when I arrived and I shouldnt have had to buy one. There is also a large pole running through my unit that makes storing things difficult and takes up quite a bit of space.
