Have had multiple issues with the Oakland beach location now. Manager Couldn’t care less about giving customers a good experience. Most recently I did mobile pickup before the building opened and the key was not in the lock box. I had to wait 25 minutes for him to show up with another associate, they clearly stopped to get coffee first, and his only response was “yea I guess they forgot to put the key in the box”. I use uhaul for my art festivals and it’s been super frustrating that I end up being pressed for time due to something at the facility holding me up.

The Express Online check in was a mess. No Uhaul emails are coming through one of my email accounts but that is what I made the reservation under. It requires me to log in to my account to check in but I couldn’t log in. The wonderful clerk at the location redid the entire reservation for us.

I specifically requested a motorcycle trailer, for $16 and change, witch I was quoted buy Robert, the employee who I dealt with and not until it was hooked up, was I told that the trailer price was $26 and change, when I mentioned it but said that it was "no big deal " he responded "do you want me to remove the trailer?, because it seems like it's a big deal! I will NEVER USE, NOR EVER RECCOMEND THIS LOCATION! this guy was the rudest uhaul employee I have EVER encountered!

Always a hassle at the Oakland Beach location. The workers have attitudes. I asked why I had so many miles on my trucks return slip and the woman answered “ I don’t know what you did when you weren’t here....” The early pickup didn’t work and I had to wait an hour for the store to open. I have tanks filled regularly with propane and the attendant won’t fill tanks that I have had retested because he doesn’t recognize the stamps. I witnessed an employee screaming at a customer and when I asked a worker why the other worker acted that way the he stated, that guy always acts like that. What a mess, Always easier to go there but I will find an alternative.

Employees seemed disinterested during interaction. Processed equipment return promptly and efficiently. Employees had earbuds in throughout interaction - unsure of what, if anything, they might have been listening too but did not present an attentive demeanor. Personnel performed all jobs satisfactorily. Processed reimbursement of truck fuse purchase without hassle or issue - great to see they were empowered to make the decision and process the reimbursement without having to contact further management.

Today I rented a truck from this location, the “owner” pulled the truck up and said, “you’re all set”. As I pulled out of the lot I noticed the gas gauge wasn’t at the same level that was listed on the paperwork, so I took a picture of it. After finishing my move, I filled the tank to a little over where the needle was on the gas gauge when I picked up the truck. When I arrived back at the u-haul facility, after throwing away the trash that was left in there by the previous renters, I went inside to check out. I told the gentleman at the service desk about the discrepancy and that I had taken a picture. I was immediately met with snide remarks and extremely unprofessional attitude by the clerk and the “owner”. I was told that I did not open a text message and approve the amount of gas, I didn’t even know I received this text message, nor was I told I would be getting one from the start. I was also met with snide remarks from the staff about the price that I would now have to pay for the gas. I was then rudely given a bill with the charge for the gas that I DID NOT use. I feel as though they were extremely happy that “they tricked another one”. The rude and condescending attitude of the “owner” and other bearded man that works there is abhorrent. Also, while I was there the same “owner” was extremely rude to a woman who was given wrong information over the phone, so at least I know he treats everyone this way. You should be ashamed at the way your workers treat their customers, it’s despicable. In the future I will greatly consider finding a truck from another company whether for my personal use or when being used at work.

Something in the U-Box reservation ordering process needs to be fixed. I reserved 3 U-boxes, but on day of pickup it was changed to 1 U-Box, which caused a crazy domino effect of orders being canceled and re-opened, and causing many phone calls between Uhaul, MovingHelp, and the local moving companies.

Rented a NEW Ford-150 pick up with about 860 miles on it. The truck was nice, previous renter had spilled coffee all over driver side and interior door. Spent time before turning it in cleaning and wiping down the spillage previously left. Turned truck back in to Raquel who was pleasant, & kind.

I have rented may times from this location with no issues . Unfortunately , There is always a first with everything . I rented a 10’ box truck from the Warwick RI location on Oakland Beach Ave. The truck had a pull to the right and vibration after 60 mph. If I wasn’t short for time I would of returned the vehicle and received another. Upon returning I asked the Assistant Manager if anything could be done regarding the bill for the inconvenience and she said no. Having 10 plus years in the vehicle rental business in the past and being a Certified Vehicle Inspector I find this unacceptable . I know its hard to keep the vehicles grounded because they are in such high demand . Something needs to be done regarding this . For safety’s sake. It’s dangerous with an unloaded vehicle, Nevermind a loaded one . This was wrong. I feel good should of been made because of this.

Major problems getting equip. Was on elist because of HQ admin problems. Was removed as soon as HQ found everything had been resolved previously. Then prices were inflated from the quote and reservation rcvd over the phone. And gas credit not explained correctly.

Booked my truck for local service at around 8am- 8:30am, online. Received confirmation/reservation #. I was supposed to pick up at Noon. At approx. 11:15, I received a call from the location, indicating I would have to return truck to a different location. As I was leaving my vehicle there, this wasn't an option for me. I asked if the would pick me up from other location, and was denied. They offered a larger truck, but would not let me rent for price of smaller truck. Then, I was told they would have a truck for me at 1pm. When I picked it up, it was due back at Noon the next day, not the full 24 hours I had reserved for. This was bad business. Not sure why I couldn't return truck to same location, and have the staff transport to different location if necessary. Bad customer service, I've had better experiences with Budget. The truck was fine though.

We are upset with U-Haul as a company because our pick up location was changed from North Kingstown to Warwick which in return added more miles on the truck and we had to pay an additional 9.00. The first truck we signed out had a broken left turn signal so we had to wait for new paper work inspect a new truck. The entire process took close to an hour and put us behind schedule.

When I checked out the truck in the morning the man who helped me was quick and helpful. However when I came back to drop it off there were 4 people in total that were in the office not one greeted me not one offered assistance until I interrupted them. Then I was told that guy outside can help you check the vehicle back in just tell him you want a printed receipt. I didn’t see anyone and stated so and the response I got was “he just walked right by you” I had to hunt him down outside. Rudest bunch of people I have ever worked with. Wouldn’t recommend this place and definitely won’t be going back

When you as a company sell locks for your storage containers and they break after minimum use. You should stand behind them and give your customer a replacement lock for free. After all it does have the haul name on it.
