Apparently, there is a 2000-pound limit for each box that is not in the contract, not in the documents you sign, and no employee tells you about. It is however, in a small sticker in the UHAUL. I loaded my box for a move across the country and dropped the box off the U-Haul location and left the state. 6 days later I received a phone call that said my box was too heavy and I needed to remove items. My friends had to go and unpack my box and I had to virtually go through my stuff. I lost all my furniture because of this undisclosed weight limit. They even had the audacity to charge me for a lock after they had to cut off the first one. Their solution was to offer to get me another box at an additional $900 shipping cost. WTF- will never use them again.

The employees at the location were pretty rude. I walking inside at 4:35, they close at 5. After asking to rent a truck they looked at me like I was an idiot and pretty aggressively told me of their policy where they wouldn't rent out vehicles in the last 30 minutes. Cool, but no need to be a jerk about it--5 minutes is 5 minutes. So I went out to my car, filled out the online form, and went back inside to get the code for my keys. The people inside again condescendingly and rudely told me they confirmed my rental but weren't going to help me because the app was handling it. (Now 4:55) I contact customer service after waiting 10-15 minutes who tell me to go inside just like the app, as they should have my code. Whilst waiting for them to tell me what I already tried to do, the employees had locked up and began closing procedures around me, and left. About 10-15 minutes later, in the cold, in the dark.. I had the truck I had paid for about 30 minutes prior, and before the place had closed. Weirdly frustrating experience for what should've been an in and out transaction.

The man came out to the parking lot and offered to take the keys since they were about to close and told me to he truck would be checked in first thing in the morning. I appreciate that the employee came outside to let me know.

I rented a van for anticipated cost of 48 dollars if bought back on time. I brought the van back clean and full of gas and logged a little over 20 miles I received my invoice. My credit cards billed for over 4 700 dollars. I still don't know if it has been fixed!!!!!! I have a lawyer on standby Incase it is not fixed! I will not be doing business here any more. Nobody cares even after I called corporate!!!!!!!

The windshield, windows and mirrors were dirty and hindered vision. Also, whenever I rent from U-haul the fuel tank is never full. Whenever I rent vehicles from other companies such as Ryder, Enterprise or local dealerships the tank is full and it's returned full. It almost like a trap to either get more fuel than when it left or to be able to charge someone for coming back with less fuel than they left with. The staff at this location is always very courteous. Because of this I will continue to use them for my rental needs.

The folks assisted me with all my needs. They called an hour after my scheduled pick up to make sure I was still coming and since I was late. Would highly recommend this location to anyone in need of U-Haul products and/or other accessories they offer. I plan to utilize them in the future with a move I will be making locally.

When doing the self return in the app there's absolutely no place for me to upload a picture at all. Not sure if that's something you're supposed to do on a desktop or what but it wouldn't make sense due to most people not having a laptop or desktop when they are in a vehicle. The guy that checked us out made it seem like it was optional for me to have an additional contact person so when I said no to the question he seemed upset and told me "well you have to have one there's no way around it"

They didn't check out the truck properly before I picked it up and I ended up having no air conditioning the entire trip; over 900 miles from NE Iowa to Atlanta.

I tried to rent a storage unit to transfer my belongings from the ubox to a storage unit, but was told i need to provide two addresses in order to rent a storage unit even after I just got done paying $2100 for shipping a ubox across the country...how un-costumer friendly especially when in need to store my belongings. U-haul lost my business and more money could have been made, but it was lost because you need 2 addresses to rent a storage unit, how ridiculous.

Ross and Brandon were very rude and unprofessional at the location, 3633 University Ave, Waterloo, IA. Especially Ross who stated he was the owner. They may have been busy, but there's still suppose to be some professionalism and respect for paying customers. I spent alot of money on U-haul equipment to be treated this way.

Ross at this location had on a badge stating he was the owner and Brandon did not have on a badge at all. I had to ask for his name. They were so rude to me. I am a 54 old, disabled woman with a cane and they told me I had to disconnect the auto transport and remove my car myself, when while in Houston, uhaul hooked up the auto transport there. We drove it up on the transport, but they hooked it up, but Ross and Brandon stated they don't do that. In the process, while driving the car off the transport, the bent up old raggedy Florida license plate that the Houston location had to bend, ripped the spoiler underneath the car off. The Waterloo location told me they were not responsible and to take it up with my insurance. Now the auto transport was malfunction from the very beginning. It would not allow us to go in reverse in the proper way. While in Oklahoma, we had to get the Sheriff department to stop traffic just to get us out of a parking lot. It was a very long and disgusted trip with uhaul. If I need to travel again, I may go with Penske.

It's not really fair that when I made my reservation online it said my total would be $20 and some odd cents, but when picking up the uhaul it was $37 and some change. Then when dropping it off, it was another $2 and change. It just seems like some false advertising. I wasn't expecting to pay over $40 for a truck that we used for 2 hours.

The Waterloo IA store was not a good place to deal with. Our tow dolly rental was cancelled on Monday 10/3/22 in the afternoon without telling us anything about it. The only way we found out about the cancellation was because we called to confirm the time of the pick up of the dolly. We had to spend an hour and half on the phone with customer service to verify that another dolly will be ready the next morning since our reserved one was given to somebody else. And supposedly nobody at the store knew how our dolly to pull our van all the back to Colorado got cancelled. We had to go back to the hotel and paid for another night unnecessarily since Uhaul did not take care of us as customers. When we went back to the store on Tuesday morning supposedly they no clue of our reservation for a dolly. It took 3 hours for us to prove to the staff that our dolly was delivered the night before. We had to go through our emails to show them records our reservation as they asked for proof of it from Customer service who were great on the phone to help us with such a problem. To finish up our trip the person named Erik who attached the harness of straps did wrong. We almost lost our van south of Denver because a tire came loose and it took us an hour on Wednesday morning from 1 to 2 am in the morning to re-attach the 2 front tires correctly after being driven all night. Uhaul needs to pay us back at least for the extra night at the hotel and dinner on Monday night of 10/3/22. Merci.

I showed up at 8:53 am to drop my trailer off I rented. This location opens at 9 am on Sundays. Upon enter the receiving lot a uhaul employee came out asking if I was dropping off. I replied “yes, I was”. The employee then told me I had to move my truck and trailer and park someplace else until he had time to help me as he needed to move returned trucks first. He also stated “we aren't even open yet so move”. I said I was aware you are not open yet but was simply disconnecting my trailer brake. He said fine but you gotta move we will help you when we get to you. After that another employee Brandon came and helped me he was professional and well mannered. The other employee working was standing there and I told him sir I am aware what time this location opens he responded with “good” in a loud manner. At this point we both began arguing I told him I was a customer and didn't need to have his raised voice tone delivered to me in the way it did. This employee while I didn't obtain his name was rude and made it very clear with his body language and tone of voice he was not happy working and customer appreciation didn't matter. He made me very mad and angry and was flat out ride right off the bat. This employee needs major training. I'm sorry I showed up 7 min early and didn't park where he wanted me to.

USE AT OWN RISK- I rented a u-box to move across the country. I picked it up on March 21st and took it to my house to load. I then returned it loaded on March 31st, dropped it off at the location and left the state for my new home. I received an email on the 31st at 4:05 that my box was received ( it had been there since noon) and that my box would arrive at it's destination Sunday April 24th - 3 WEEKS LATER. Turns out they failed to inform me verbally or in the contract that my box would sit at their location until April 12th and then shipped. They also failed to let me know their was a weight limit on the box and where to find that information and it was NOT listed in any communication from U-Haul. On the 6th of April 6 DAYS AFTER I ARRIVED IN TEXAS I was left a voicemail that informed me that my box was too heavy and would not be shipped unless I removed items. I explained that I was 1500 miles away and they said well you have to take stuff out or pay to have another box added to your order for an additional 1000 dollars. I had to have friends go take everything out and decide from Texas what I was going to keep or not. I lost all my furniture and my safe all because they waited 6 days to tell me it was overweight. They had no response to why was I not informed of a weight limit at any time or why it took 6 days for them to tell me. I could have figured out a different plan if I knew ahead of time or that this was going to be such a hassle. They had to cut my lock off so it could be gone through and then of course they charged me for a new one. I was bounced around between people who could give me no answers except we are sorry ( sorry does not cut it when I am in another state.) My stuff arrived per email but the location it said arrived to said they didn't have it and it was at another location- I finally got it straightened out but just a continued mess. My stuff arrived and the moving company I hired to unload was great but I would never use UHAUL for moving again.

On my last two visits to this location the staff seemed to behave less than impeccable that I've come to expect from this location. Though management has made appropriate corrections both times I feel I need to be more careful in how I do business here such as an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure and it's unfortunate

I don't appreciate getting a storage space NOT big enough for all my things and I got a 15 inch truck! And because I was not given a big enough storage it took me a long time to figure out what I could get in there and how to put it in there! Because I'm moving out of town I have to get rid of a lot of stuff...I have nowhere to put the rest  I've never had this problem before with this company until now.

The customer service sucks! Suggest proper training on working with customers instead of giving them some papers and send them on there way not explaining anything especially the payment process was extremely confusing!

These people go above and beyond getting your moving and storage needs met their awesome .So when they get busy and backed up just be patient everybody wants to move fast and say their slow no!!you have no patients ! You really do need to replace the person door at the back of the climate controlled storage area. That doorknob sticks and is tricky to use.
