Truck had rproblems and needed repair for rain comng in on passenger side of cabin. Not sure if the emplyee at counter made a note of this? Overall, truck was VERY NOISY and gas guzzling. I would not use UHaul in future. Will look for more updatd trucks wiht better engines for gas efficiency.

The only criticism I have is that one of the front headlights was out on truck I reserved, making maneuvering side streets that night a bit difficult. But beyond that, the truck was very useful and the support staff were great and helpful.

Vehicle was filthy inside cab. Cigarette butts and ashes in ash try and passenger door handle. Windshield was covered with bug splatter all over. Talked to the lady on the phone she stated “The truck came in yesterday before you picked it up and I didn't look at it” I called the west Hartford u haul store the day before I picked up the truck because I was concerned about covid and wanted to make sure the truck was cleaned and the a/c was working. This truck was horribly filthy inside!!! This shows that the lady doesn't do her job she didn't even look at the truck!!!! The truck had 90 000 miles on it. Steering wheel was crooked and shook when you drove it. There was no other truck available anywhere. I had to drive this piece of crap 1400 miles from Connecticut to Florida. I was told when I made my reservation on July 20 that U haul reserves newer trucks for long distance across country drives. This truck was so beat up I'll never rent from u haul again. I'll tell all my friends and anyone who will listen about this rental and not use u haul.

Provide better guidance to customers on some key issues, such as how to safely back up trailer. Had some trouble on a long, curved driveway, and did not receive a call back from any customer service rep after speaking to someone.

Excellent experience with great savings! This UHaul of West Hartford made everything easy - check-in and check-out were very fast!!! We had to store items for college dorm. Perks: a free month of storage, free lock, and indoor climate control was an extra bonus that allowed us to store more items than we were previously unable to store at an outdoor storage unit. Also, UHaul pricing was a monthly savings over our previous outdoor storage unit of the same size! Definitely will recommend this UHaul!

I am a 60 year old woman who struggled alone, late at night, in the dark, in a sketchy neighborhood to return a van I had to pay 400 $to rent for the day and I am disgusted with the way you do business! I was told if I waited until business hours to return the van I would be charged yet another fee because your employees would actually have to do their job?! So I struggled on my phone for 45 minutes being endlessly prompted to do what I feel was completely unnecessary for a customer to have to do when I just paid you 400 $!! You also charged me four different arbitrary fees which I find completely greedy and probably unlawful...You are the epitome of Corporate America, whose only goal is to pretend to care about the customer while steal ing as much of their hard earned money as possible! You disappoint me greatly, UHAUL!

I rented this unit for six hours and I had it back an hour and a half before the six hours were up. I asked the guy in the yard if I had to check in and he said no it was all set and I could just leave. The bill was supposed to be 69 $and I just received an email bill for 207,22 $ and it said that I had the equipment for three days which is a complete lie. Contract number was 21789269 and I want somebody to contact me and correct this bill immediately. My number is 203â€"7 10â€"4144. I can't believe the U-Haul with the employee people of such low caliber.If I don't hear back from someone by this time tomorrow I will take the appropriate measures

received a phone call from an employee harassing and threatening to be charged for another person's reservation along with other charges and was told I needed to bring the truck immediately, had to toss my belongings on the side of the road to rush back to this location. I was dooped. I filled up the gas tank and it was not moving the gauge. I had to refill again and when i dropped it to the location the gauge finally moved amd i had overfilled it.. thats basically stealing.. never will use uhaul again! Cheata

My storage locker was broken into, I had to come all the way from NC to handle it, which cost me 1 000 $. There were NO cameras in my hallway. I had insurance, through the company that handles U-Haul storage bin insurance. Their rating was terrible with the Better Business Bureau and had many many complaints, unbeknownst to me when I purchased and paid monthly for the insurance for quite some time. I only found this out when I attempted to file a claim after being robbed. The insurance company made it very difficult to even talk to a person, I was only able to leave a voicemail. The one time I was able to talk to a person my agent that was supposed to handle my claim was supposed to call me back, and never did. I was never even able to get compensated for my loss, some of which was irreplaceable to me. I lost approximately 3 000 $worth of items, along with sentimental values items. The staff at the West Hartford UHaul were always very rude and it seemed to be an inconvenience to them every single time I was there, or called. The only 2 exceptions were the day I came this month to pay my bill and a couple days later when I moved out. The staff on those two days were wonderful, helpful and a pleasure to deal with. I had a pretty horrible experience with this U-Haul facility overall, except for the two days this month I was there.

Arrived at the office to get key to unit and staff member said he will check the unit before he leaves to ensure there's no locked on it and it's available since they were having computer issues. Unfortunately I didn't have time to check myself due to timing and informed him that I will be back later. Arrived late afternoon with 2 cars packed with boxes to find out that the unit was locked and the items from the prior tenant were never removed. Staff member asked me to come back the next day since I arrived at closing time. Needless to say I did not return! Very disappointing experience

Scheduling was a MAJOR issue. I reserved an enclosed trailer over 2 months in advance. 72 hours before my pickup, I was told that the only trailer available was an open trailer. If I needed an enclosed unit, I would need to drive to Boston. I will do my utmost to never rent from uhaul again. This was unacceptable!

Very good experience with this location. Good people quick service by using the uhaul app. The app has issues returning the rental, that needs to be addressed. The app would not accept the pictures taken from the app and did not allow processing the rental return. Has to use the website to process the return.

My milage was messed up and I was charged over 5 000 $. I did not even have the vehicle for 24hrs. I was given a refund but I am still being charged over 600 $. I should only be paying 65 $and I am having trouble getting refunded. This refund process should not be taking this long and I should not be getting charged for the stores mistake.

My return was not processed at the time of return. It was not until I called for a receipt that the return was processed. This location then billed for for a day and coverage that was included in my original rental agreement. It took an hour on the phone to process this problem. ( person who helped with this was wonderful). On Monday the 16th the location called me to obtain the combination on the lock on the back of the truck (that was placed there by u-haul) and did not like to hear the feedback from the incorrect drop off.

There were 7 trucks ahead of me no one was around to check in my vehicle. Finally went inside store. One guy behind counter doing nothing told me just to leave my vehicle and they would check it in when they could. So I left a truck sitting outside with the keys in the ignition hopeful it would be checked in without any issues. Way to run a business uhaul!

When we picked up the rental I needed to purchase a towing receiver and ball. I purchased both and the associate said "we usually have customers install themselves", this was when I asked him to attach the ball to receiver. He assembled it to hand tight and said your allset. I asked him if he had a wrench. He told me no because their trailer guy quit. Please explain to me how that is my problem and how is it you sell such a product that you can't support? Who in their right mind carries around tools to assemble this! Noone does! Location was not clean, neat and organized from my perspective!

I originally booked a van online for mobile pick up. When i arrived i was instructed to go inside, basically defeating the purpose of mobile booking. The employee said they were over booked and also didn't know what he had available for me. I was given a van but the cost was different than what I had originally been quoted for the mobile pick up. I was quoted 40 $but paid almost 80 $and the employee could not explain to me the difference in the cost. This was bothersome and i still don't understand the difference in costs. Bad business. The van I rented was not at half of a tank of gas when I received it so I filled it back to what I received it at (just below half).

I went to my unit to get something and there was a red lock on the door next to my lock. I went the office and was told I moved out. I had not and was very upset not knowing if my belongings were stolen. The person at the desk kept telling me I moved out. I have auto pay and and the last payment was 7/24/2021. He came down to the unit to see if my belongings were still there and fortunately the were. I was required to sign another lease with a new date and think my payments may overlap. He told me to come back and see the manager he couldn't do anything. And couldn't explain how this happened. What if my belongings we stolen or you sold or disposed of them? The person at the counter was understanding and courteous but could only offer to come back to see the manager.

The pick up and drop off isnt the problem with uhaul. The problem is your customer service, I had to drive 2 hours out of my way to pick it up. When I called customer service, I just kept getting transfered for over an hour.

No cleaning protocols followed. Truck was delivered dirty, had fumes for gas and the driver's door panel fell off. I reserved the truck on line and it still took Nettie 45 minutes to process my contract. I called Shantel, the GM three different days and she did not call me back. I've spent over 2 hours of my time being on hold, trying to rectify this horrible customer experience.

Long wait times. Almost wasted a whole hour of my 4 hour rental before I could get my trailer. Tank was not filled. Did not receive good directions at all neither at pickup or drop off. Had to look for my own truck and help take off the trailer. Which I am not qualified for. At drop off I waited for the attendant and then continued to sit before I was I told I didn't have to wait.

Upon arrival was told I had to return equipment at 5 pm and that I “received a call or text about the equipment needing to be returned at this time” which I did not receive either and luckily was able to complete my move and be back in time to return the vehicle at that time. Poor communication on this part I didn't know until I arrived that I needed to bring back equipment at “5 pm” when I had online signed up I had put 9 am-9 pm. It is okay to return equipment earlier than I had originally put online but the lack of communication wasn't a great start to the day Everything worked out and was fine returning everything was easy and smooth. It was okay. Used the check-in on the UHAUL app and still ended up having to wait in line for 15 minutes to get the key and furniture pads. Not very fast and "contactless" as claimed. Will try a different UHAUL location before using this one again.

Morning customer service person said the office would remain open until 7:30 pm. I arrived back with the truck at 7:15 and the manager was locking up. He said they closed at 7:00 pm. However he assisted in getting my truck returned in the system. Thank you for staying late to take care of me.

Unfortunately I hired movers through Uhaul and there was a big glitch that costed me 100 $. The movers did the job, but after I gave them a 100 $tip in cash. I received text to rate the movers. And it looked like a question like this: did you give a tip? The answer was yes. And what is the amount? Answer: 100 $So, they charged me an additional 100 $to my credit card. I contacted the mover directly and I contacted the mover as in the company. They all refused to refund me. This is the thanks I got from using Uhaul movers on 03-21-2020. Very poor ethics. I cannot figure out how to turn on the lights in my hallway. If they are on motion detectors, they are set for taller persons than I. Staff is very helpful and friendly and the location and access are very convenient.

My brother Angel Cruz recommended this Uhaul location. I have to say I'm pleased with the service and absolutely will recommend this location. The two gentlemen working on Sunday were fantastic and very nice. I had an easy move out the storage and returning the rental truck! Merci.

I don't like that I had to buy a lock from you when I already have several of my own padlocks that I could easily have used. So now I have yet another lock that I will NEVER use. That is a ridiculous policy.

We will see what condition my things are in when I unpack... thus far boxes are dry and intact. Staff were very pleasant. Price was reasonable

I wish it was 24 hour access but there must be a reason. This is a business storage unit and it's hard to get there by 7 pm

Ms. Carmen Galaza and her staff were so helpful and accommodating to me when I rented a truck, then a storage unit from them during my move. I felt they wanted to make sure that I was renting the right truck and unit for my needs by going over the different options and prices.

The staff member gave me a reservation for two storage rooms and then she gave my rooms to someone else and my stuff was stuck in the truck a very bit inconvenience!! I was very angry 😡

We recently vacated our long-term storage unit, which was an emotional process, since it involved items I stored there since my mother passed away many years ago. I have to say that your Sunday crew is an amazing team and a credit to your facility. They were pleasant and professional, extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and had great senses of humor and the ability to connect with their customers. We are especially glad for William, who is not only an amazing employee, but also a wonderful person.

Service person took her time allowing me to choose a unit. She fully explains the equipment to access the property. The unit is clean and climate controlled. This far, so good!
