Overall, it was a good experience. The biggest issue was that I booked the 26 footer and a dolly over a week in advance and there was no dollies left whrn i picked up the truck. What id the point of allowing a dolly reservation online if it is first come, first serve..Mathieu K.

If you've already booked with a reservation process immediately don't make people wait 2 hours. Have more staff on. One staff did not deal with anyone and sat at her terminal without providing service.Barbara D.
It took 2 hrs to get the uhaul amd we had requested it all online ahead of time. Debit machine was down and then I was charged 85 for gas and all the other charges in total cost 185 even tho the advertising said 40 for the rental. The hidden fees totally screwed us our of our budget. 60 of hidden fees and taxes is ridiculous. Also online it says we can drop it off anywhere and we requested a location for pick up that was on the north east side by where we live and was moving only a few blocks away. We had to take a cab l the way to the far west end to pick up the uhaul and we were told we could not drop it off at any location even tho that is how we always did it before when we got a ubaul. With the large amount of locations that uhaul has you would think we would have been able to pick one up closer to us. Or at least drop it off closer to us when we were done with it. Taking cabs to and from the location was about 80 in total. So all together for a 40 uhaul rental we were out 265!!!! Never using uhaul again.Jaylene H.

The wait time was brutal. We showed up 45 minutes before our scheduled pickup and waited in line for 90 minutes. There was a span of 45 minutes where the same customers were being served and nobody, nothing, moved ahead. We were given a unit number which didn't exist on the property, and by the time we were issued a trailer suitable for what we had rented we had lost 1-1/2 hrs on our 6 hr rental time and had to make our use of the trailer ridiculously stressful to get done what we needed it for. We had given ourselves extra time with the rental, more than we needed, had arrived early, had completed the pre-arrival for fast processing, and this location still managed to undo all of our best planning with its inefficiency and incompetence. Worst. U-Haul. Experience. Everâ€¦ If there was any other option for trailer rental like this, I believe this location could singlehandedly boost that competitors share of the market considerably, and is a blemish on everything that your business claims to represent.Douglas P.

I have worked with this Uhaul location in the past. Never had a problem or grievous. The young and older people are very helpful when asked with questions they can be useful with. There is a woman, a short large woman who makes not only customer's lives difficult but the employee's life as well. I believe she is a cancer to this site and to the company as a whole. We were in the store to pickup our truck by 7am, check-in via app bit still need to get the key inside the store and the lady came very late around 730am. We ask if we can have some special rate for fuel she said she will give us 10 $off but when we paid we did not get the 10 $off. Another customer service representative was in an argument with customers about an order that was not available for pickup. The CSR did her best to maintain a professional attitude but the customers were swearing at her. The problem was not the CSR's fault. It was a lack of communication between U-Haul & the customer as to where the order could be picked up. In the future, a transfer between locations of items needed by customers should be the responsibility of U-Haul. It wasn't the customers fault, they had placed an order & were given a pick up location. U-Haul could've solved the problem by arranging for the product to be sent to the location they were waiting at. Internal delivery service between locations within city limits. It may be late for the customer but saves them time running around when they should be concentrating on packing & moving.Lorne M.

Actually have a drop box. When Doing everything online the last step should be as easy as opening a box but there drop box isn't used. So the contactless pick up opinion which should save you time at pick up and lessen if not eliminate the time you'd being around strangers.. So when I had to stand in line for 5 minutes I noticed that it took longer waiting to ask for the key to the truck then it was to rent the truck from scratch.Jon M.

Rented 2 previous times and was okay/good. This time problems with doing vehicle inspection online as would not take photo correction 3 time & employee said to cancel out. By now behind schedule as just a short rental, & found out was given either wrong truck or wrong paperwork as mileage entered wrong , along with gas gas less than on my contract. Took picture and when returned van, had argument with employee about amount of fuel in truck, as she finally, in frustration, gave up fighting with me and gave me the adjusted & correct contract for the van I was given to rent. Mileage charged me was more than what I drove as well, but since only 4 km, did not bother arguing that.Jack D.
The positive: -The vehicle was clean and well maintained. -Three out of the four staff I interacted with were very polite and helpful. The negative: -I had issues with my online inspection and was directed to contact my location. I had just spent 20 min lining up after getting the keys to my rental to ask a clarifying question, so I decided to call instead. I was put on hold for over 50 min so I abandoned my call. -While I was lining up to rent the vehicle, two of the staff got into an audible disagreement that was both unprofessional and disruptive. -When I returned my rental, another customer was very upset and said they would not be paying full price for the mistakes that Uhaul made. I went to this location because it was two blocks away from my pick-up location. However, in the future, I will not be going to this location but will pay the extra mileage and go to a further one.Esjay L.

I picked up and the cab of the uhaul did not appear to be cleaned at all. The floor had a white salt-like powder. The door pockets had garbage and under the seats was filthy from what you could see getting in. The inner side of the windshield was really greasy and therefore had a lot of glare in the dark. The steering wheel was sticky. I said in my pickup comment that it was not clean....then when returning I said it was not clean enough to rent to someone else and it tried to charge me a cleaning fee.....I was simply trying to reiterate that it was never cleaned when I got it. The box of the truck worked well and was properly clean. For the price I thought the truck worked fine, I was just glad I didn't have to drive it longer due to the cab having not been cleaned. The truck price would have been fair if the truck was clean, but I don't feel that it was a good deal given how dirty it was.Tanner H.

The trailer we thought we reserved over the phone was not the one we got. Ended up with an open trailer so suddenly had to contend with tarp and straps, didn't have the luxury of just closing and locking. Got the trailer home and found one tire at 25 lbs and the other didn't register any air in it at all. Trailer was meant to haul gear for camping trip. Cut the trip short because tired of trapping and strapping and having to put air in the tires every day. Gear should be in top shape and ready to go when picked up.Daniel J.
Had to buy a wiring adapter that cost nearly what the rental. I looked in the site including following the link customer service sent and there is nothing saying what the requirements are. You'd think your equipment would be equipped to work with more than one type or that adapters would be included with the rental. If I had the option I would have walked out and rented elsewhere. Unit was not ready and there was no lock in the unit as I was told there would be for check in. I spent an hour trying to find someone to aid me when finally the yard guy, Perry, was kind enough to grab a lock for me and get me set up after hours. However this should not have been the case. By far the worst front desk staff I have ever encountered, from what I gathered it was the manager in a back room on the phone who was continually swearing and speaking very poorly about customers, was very rude to people who called and extremely disrespectful to staff members. It's one thing to complain about customers and swear behind closed doors, but when people in line are listening to the manager lose her mind on staff members and swearing for a better part of an hour that's just flat out unprofessional. 3 people walked out of the store in the time I was standing in line and another customer proceeded to tell me I can have her place in line because she â€œcan't listen to that lady bitch about every single thing any longer.â€ Overall the worst experience I've ever had at Uhaul and probably one of the worst experiences I've had at a store in general. I will absolutely not be returning to Uhaul in the future for any reason. 0/10 in every category and I definitely will be advising other people to stay clear of Uhaul and specifically this location. Reconsider your hiring practices, clearly the hiring criteria for a supervisor or manager position is not suitable if this is the type of person who is responsible for fulfilling these roles.Taylor reid A.

I dropped the truck off at this location, as directed by customer service/central dispatch because I could not get a hold of GS Helpers location in Edmonton, for my initial drop off. This location/central booking did not communicate my truck drop-off to the original GS Helper location. This resulted in me receiving 2 calls a day for 4 days from GS Helper Uhaul, after explaining the issue to each staff separately. I then got charged 200 $for having dropped off the truck late . . . . which I was completely incorrect. I dropped off the truck 2 days early, but it was failed to be checked in by the receiving location on 154 St. Terrible service from the point of pick up to the drop off and through central dispatch. Will never use Uhaul again, will ensure to communicate via several Social Media outlets these concerns and the absolute poor customer service.SUDHIR N.

I'm not an elderly man of 52 who is angered easily. The young gentleman who was assisting me from the time I came in, booked, paid until I came back 24 hrs later was fantastic. The young girl however when I first arrived had her own agenda. This caused two to three different paths that were not either known to the young man through training and or were given as a manual discipline from the young girl. This caused backlog and confusion as now there were questions from both the young gentleman and myself. This young girl was not clear in her statements concerning locks, truck deposits, return times. There are lots of fantastic people at the location I have gone to, I will keep going there as long as I can. Maybe I'm getting tired of trying to be the nice guy. Maybe this has just been a bad year and this is what you're going to get. I sure hope you keep that young gentleman, he's a pretty nice guy!John F.
Thank you! I would recommend that you guarantee the type of truck that the client requests. If it's not available, I would recommend to let them know via email or phone ahead of time that it's not available. I requested a 10' Truck ahead of time, but when I got there I received a van instead. After registering and booking online. I go to the location only to join a long line of others who had do e so. Only one lady was attending to us and she was visibly overwhelmed. Manager appeared not interested in helping. After 1hour 14minutes on the line I got to the counter. That is not the best way to conduct a business. It took me 18 minutes to complete the process at the counter for information I could have provided online. The van had left over from previous user that I had to clean upon return in order to complete the process. The return process was almost as bad as the first. What a mess and quite regrettable. Most mileage I had on my rental is due to the new location reassigned from the initial!!Hassan H.
First of all, I showed up for my 24/7 ride share on time and went through all of the steps. Then, the keys were not in the lockbox they were supposed to be in. So, I had to wait in line for 30 minutes while 3 employees helped 1 customer pick out dollies.. So, when I finally had enough, I interrupted to get my keys and get going. Second, they didn't know which truck was mine so I had to press back a bunch of times in the pick up procedure on my phone so I couldn't properly continue the process of taking pictures of damages/fuel and all that stuff so I just left because I was already running super late. Third, I go to check when I park if the dolly was there that I ordered and nope of course not, it's not there. I was moving apartments so this dolly would have been a life saver but instead, ended up costing me so much extra time. And last but not least, I was going to be late returning my truck due to U-hauls incompetence and they threaten me saying â€œif it's not back by this time, we're going to charge you an extra dayâ€. This is completely unprofessional and awful service and I will never use U-haul again because of it. You ought to review your procedures at this location because it seems like it's a gong show. I understand it probably gets crazy around the end of the month but you guys need to be prepared and organized. Thanks for the horrible experience.Vincent S.

Checkout speed was a major problem. Almost 45 minutes after having done everything ahead on the web, to check out a trailer. That included 15 minutes waiting in the lot for someone to finalize the hookup check. And that was after finding another staff to ask for someone to complete the checkout. Check-in was a bit better. If I was rating only the check-in, it would have been Below average or poor. There were three staff at check-in desks, but some customers were taking 10 to 15 minutes each, and one staff spent quite a bit of time helping the other staff.Peter D.

10 years as a customer. Two break-ins despite a "secure" facility. Never any meaningful response or responsibility taken. Elevator down twice in business hours. Security cameras offline for months at a time, let alone blind spots. Floor waxed in business hours prohibiting access to some areas. Elevator and parking area always dirty. Many problems over the years with card access/failure. Number of handtrucks and handcarts reduced to maybe 1, 2 or 3 out of the original 8. Facility opened fine and then continually ran downhill over the years with no money spent to maintain or upgrade. My U-haul Storage rental unit #1203 was broken into at 2:00 am. Your staff member (Nicole?) called me, and said the breakin was captured on video. Within days, she changed her story 3 separte time: 1st she can't sshow me the video due to 'privacy'. Then, the video camers weren't working. Finally, she said their ARE no cameras. This is unacceptable. I tried to close the unit rental contral in 3 separate visits to your office. 1st the staff didn't help at all (Sat. morning, young man was clerk). 2nd visit, a female staff (same one that phoned about the breakin) gave me a form to sign reliquishing my claim on any property therein, and closing the rental term by removing my credit card no. from the account (Oct 27). Finally, I kept getting emails from yyour service telling me that the rental that I had already closed was 'overdue' and you we charging me late fees on a contract that was closed. This has been a miserable experince, in which I lost thousands of dollars in property, was lied to and disrepected throughout by your staff (wyo by the way NEVER annser the phone, nor can I leave a msg), and I wasted dozens of hours trying to deal with your company on what should have never happened, if you ran a safe and secure facility. This is actually probably the worst customer service I've ever experienced, next to skip the dishes. I had some fraud on my debit card, so I needed to change the card on file. I tried called U Haul for 3 weeks straight, nobody would answer the phone. The card was declined and I was charged a late fee. I decided to cancel the storage at that point. After I moved out, I STILL couldn't get ahold of anyone. They would immediately put me on hold and sometimes even hang up on me. This location is an absolute joke. I loathe going inside because they have 1 incompetent person working the counter for a lineup of 20 customers. The facility was a mess, elevator barely worked. Garbage thrown around both outside and inside the building. The outer bay door that's supposed to make the facility secure was not only but broken! And then there was a homeless guy camping out inside one of the units down a few lockers from my unit! Only problem on the day when we were moving out was, that we were waiting for 30 min, even though I checked in the day before. The main door was closed so we had to take out our stuff through the side door, which was tough but we survived. The front desk staff were very polite and accommodating despite the office being very busy. They were able to answer all of my questions and provide me with equipment I required at no extra cost. The staff even provided some suggestions about how to strategically park the truck so that it would be easier to unload in the storage bay. I left question 5 unanswered because no the facility could have been cleaned more often: washroom ,garbage,can with paper towels over flowing, toilet paper missing: however after I spoke to one of the fellow attendants , he saaid that people just take the roll with them- I'm aware that the human mind leaves much to be desired! you are off the hook on that one. Come prepared! Garbage at main doors left for days. I was at the facility U-Haul fairly often. Lots of garbage out in front of the truck rental check area- I even picked up some of the broken plastic totes. I would say room for improvement. simply assign someone to do a check every evening - would solve the problem. -always had trouble with the monthly payments, was locked out of storage locker monthly which was very inconvenient. Every error was on the side of uhaul -the area where the unloading zone for the storage lockers were was always totally covered in ice. Looks like it was barely salted or cared for -when I urgently needed access to my storage locker and was locked out, the following day I tried to call to sort it out at around 6pm, still an hour left of operating. Called the store the entire hour and NO ONE could answer. Just want to the call centre -seems like no one cares about their work here, unmotivated, not caring?
