Unfortunately I do not have the option to review the location I made the reservation through (Newark: U-Haul Moving & Storage of Newark-Orange St Station). I reserved the "GUARANTEED VEHICLE RESERVATION", arrived on time, only to be told at arrival that my vehicle was not available and I had to 1- find transportation to the new location, and 2- make it there within 15 minutes to secure my vehicle. Incredible. In the end, I was forced to leave 1 hour later than expected which ensued in horrible traffic and caused my rental to extend 2 hours beyond my anticipated return date. This cost me more in time fees and gas. The "guaranteed vehicle reservation" said I would receive 50 $if my vehicle was not available. I am shocked that I was even charged at all with this mishap, but on top of that, I have called multiple times to both the direct store and overall help hotline and have been unable to talk to a single person who will honor that "guarantee". Terrible service and a lack of accountability- Horrible!Diego V.

I reserved the truck about 5 days before my move, 8 am pick up . After arriving to the location we were notified that the 15 foot truck that we had reserved was not brought back by the other customers the night before so we were just out of luck and had to call the 1800 number for Uhaul . So I called the 1800 number and the representative was very dismissive and misleading but we thought she had assisted us in reserving another 15 foot truck at another location for a 8:15 pick up about 10 minutes away only for us to arrive to that location and be told that representative messed up our reservation and they did not have the 15 foot truck available . However they were very nice, lowered the mileage on the truck and did their best with accommodating us with a 10 foot truck and equipment . The 10 foot truck made our move exhausting . I will not be using Uhaul again anytime soon .Alteriek S.

The first time I used this place, it was a breeze. Even though I thought it was strange that a staff member did not do a walk-through at the truck when I picked it up, there was no issue at drop off. I rented again on 10/30/2021. When I did the walk-through I noticed there was significant damage on the rear passenger's side that wasn't reflected in the photos. I used my mobile check-in to submit pictures of the damage because the rental pick-up line was out the door. I didn't know there was an issue until after I returned the truck and received multiple receipts. Since I dropped the truck off, I was charged nearly 450 $for an in-town 6-hour rental. Although I've been told it has all been settled, each adjustment resulted in a new charge to my credit card...placing a hold for MORE MONEY. Unfortunately, there is no way to get this location on the phone, everything needs to go through the 1-800-UHAUL number (super frustrating). The agent had to transfer me to Customer Care because she could see the activity but couldn't do anything about it. I was put in the HOLD queue AGAIN. After being on hold for another 20 minutes, I got an agent who was short and could care less. He told me that after the 5 different transactions that it LOOKED like it was finalized. The holds on my credit card would be released on 11/8/2021. I asked to speak to a manager who was nice but couldn't help either. She claimed that the holds will be released in 3 to 5 business days. I always do my best to leave reviews when it's positive but I'm just frustrated with this situation. I definitely won't be going back to this location. BE CAREFUL when you rent from this location!!! Make sure you take pictures and speak with someone in person before you drive off the lot.RHONDA L.

My only criticism is I needed to leave my loaded unit temporarily while I ran an errand in my car and wasn't able to park it on the location until I returned a couple hours later. I had to park it on the street. I pad locked it and did so without resistance. I didn't understand why. If i left it on the property it would be placed in return status and closed out. Otherwise I'm very satisfied as usual with my service and ongoing business with U-HaulMichael J.

Agate making an appointment to pick up a trailer the day before. I went to pick up the trailer and was denied to take the trailer because UHAUL don't have any wires on the 6 trailers at the location to be attached to my tuck. Which made me 2 hours later for my job. The gentleman wasn't at all concerned or apologetic about the situation. He told me it was my responsibility when on the contract it clearly says I'm responsible for having my trailer connection on my truck to be working when I pick up. Because of that I had to keep the trailer and 2nd day which wasn't my intention that cost me more money and made me late and look unprofessional for my client. I'd like some kinda help with this, it isn't rightâ€¦Nichcolas C.
