The truck had only 1/4 tank of gas and I generously returned it 1/2 full. I told the drop off about this MISTAKE by UHaul, and you still charged me $10 for gas! Unbelievable! I may consider Ryder next time and will caution any user against such an abuse by u haul, what a rip off! Everything went well except for this and when it deals with money, anyone would be appalled. I will be telling this story to all who sill listen - unless I by chance receive a refund of my $10......seems like cheap fix on your part to avoid bad publicity

Put my reservation in about a week before renting the truck I rented the truck and realize they not they did not give me the furniture dolly I had it put in my reservation or so I had to turn back and look for the dolly they actually told me they did not have a dolly they looked all over the yard so I was actually forced to take the ones they had the hand trucks Furniture mover and a dolly are two a hand trucks are two totally different things they should know that and you hold did not have it at this location end of the story

This was the most horrible experience i have ever had with Uhaul. First i had a guaranteed reservation for a Pickup truck for Sunday morning at 9am to drive to Philladelphia and tow a trailer back to NJ. I arrive and they do not have my reservation in, so they give me a 10ft truck because i was in a bind telling me it will tow my trailer with no issues. I drive all the way down to Philadelphia to find out my trailer will not fit onto the hitch on the truck ( seems the 2" trailer hitch on the 10 ft truck is setup for uhaul trailers and not commercial trailers ) I call customer service to explain the situation and to see if i can do a swap out of the truck to a pickup in the local area, Customer service pushes me over to roadside assistance who then pushes me over to another form of customer service ( Roadside said they cant do anything since the truck was fine) The service rep finds a local Uhaul center and sends me text messages to advise me to go there to have the truck swapped out so i can tow the trailer i rented the Uhaul for. We drive all the way to the Uhaul center to be told there is nothing they can do for us. I call customer service AGAIN, on the phone with them for another hour and they told me there is nothing they can do for me and im out of luck. So i spent an entire day ( over 2 1/2 hrs on the phone with uhaul,) and was not able to use the equiptment that i was given for the purpose i rented it for ( even though i was told it would work with no issues, since my Guaranteed Pickup truck rental was not available) Im beyond pissed and want a full refund for the rental or i will be calling American Express to dispute the charges

I wouldn’t recommend anyone to go to this location. The service is poor the management is worse. The Orange location is within five minutes. Save yourself the hassle, the frustration and mental health and go somewhere else. If this was my first experience with UHaul I would never use this company again!

The young lady had me waiting in the cold For almost 15 min before she would check my veichle. Until I had to find another gentleman and he was like it’s ok I can go. Other times there were different employees there and they were very helpful and prompt.

This location was awesome! We first went to the 830 Broadway location in Newark and the girl behind the counter was rude and unhelpful. I called the Elizabeth Avenue Newark location, and the rep I spoke to there was amazing as well. Even though they did not have the size truck we needed available, he was able to set up my reservation at the East Orange location. I was surprised that could be done, as the girl at the 830 Broadway location said she couldn't give us any information on any other locations. Now, I know she just didn't want to do her job. Even though the Broadway location is right around the corner from my house, I'll be using this location going forward.

The information in the system was incorrect. The fuel amount and the mileage was incorrect to start and o had to keep asking for it to it to be changed because I didn’t want to be charged for something I didn’t use. The gentlemen that worked there were helpful and were able to get things in order for me to start my trip.

if the equipment is return before time the customer should not have to pay the fill amount and when the equipment was return with a full tank of gas instead of .3/4 tank. but over all every think was ok. happy holidays to you.

Did not recieve a call the day before to confirm rental. Recieved text that morning stating i needed to pick truck up at different location. So instead of traveling less than a mile round trip to pick up truck, it became 35 miles round trip, which put us behind on planned schedule. A move is stressful enough, did not need uhaul adding to it

I rented from here once before and had a good experience despite some negative online reviews. When I needed a van again, I went with them again; unfortunately, this time I seen what people were talking about. Getting the van was fine but when I returned it I noticed (who ended up being an employee) watching me for approximately 10 minutes from another truck he was sitting in with an unknown occupant. I'm waiting in the cold for someone to check my van, check it in so I can go. When the employee finally got out to help me he still had whatever they were rolling up in his fingers. He walked over, checked the van and said "you good. You can go". At this point it was 7:45pm (this location closes at 8pm). I asked him to check it in and send my receipt. He said he's got it in and I'd receive an email; I left. After I got home, about 7:55 and I haven't received my receipt, I called. I was told I would get the receipt and the account was noted the van was in. I didn't get my receipt until 7am the next day and to my surprise I had an additional charge of $21+ dollars for "After hours return fee". I was furious! I called and they assured me I was getting a refund for the $21+ dollars that should have never happened, but we'll see... I'll be checking for my refund.

First of all there either needs to be a protocol for closing out a rental return or some staff need to be reminded of the return protocol. I was called numerous times because the staff onsite neither checked for the truck or checked for the key dropped in the box after hours the evening the rental was initiated. I am dissatisfied.
