The clerk forgot to tighten down the trailer. It bounced off the hitch as I was a couple blocks away. Thankfully I wasn't on the freeway yet it could've been very dangerous!Lorie K.

Pretty smooth rental after placing it online. Returning was easy too. Overall a good experience. Only wish my local U Haul had the car trailer I needed. An extra 30 miles each way was a bit of a disappointment.Gary S.

After picking up a trailer for a one way rental and nearly completing loading it, I discovered that U-Haul had provided me with a trailer that had no license plate. I called U-Haul and after over two hours either on hold or talking to three different "customer service" representatives, no one seemed able to help me. One of the customer service representatives even suggested I call the emergency roadside assistance number. I did, and received an automated message telling me the estimated wait time was 45 minutes! Not very comforting if I was actually broken down by the side of the road. I finally returned to the original rental location (another 30 minute drive) and waited ANOTHER 45 minutes for them to print a temporary license number. In summary, I was provided with a trailer that was not properly equipped for travel, I wasted an enormous amount of time on the phone trying to get the issue corrected speaking with people who were of no help, and spent an additional ridiculous amount of time returning to the rental center to finally get the issue resolved. Customer service is apparently not a high priority at U-Haul.Mark K.

You were misinformed about the fuel in the tank..You stated that the tank was 3/8 it was a short 1/4. I drove the truck 25 miles and it took 9,3 gallons to get the fuel tank to 3/8 for the return. That was $50 in fuel to drive 25 miles!Boyd H.
You can improve on customer service. Cleanliness, the restrooms were so disgusting and with a long wait is unacceptable. You should have a line for people who have reservations. Also returning the truck outside of business hours sucks. I had to redo it 5 times to submit the return. I kept getting kicked out. If nobody was with me I wouldn't have been able to complete it. The contract clearly showed 3/16 of a tank. The clerk said I would get a cred of 15 plus if I returned the vehicle with 1/4 of a tank. She told me to take a picture if it was not at this level. I took a picture wgich showed the vehicle number and the mileage at checkout. It was below empty and the light was on. I drove 35 miles and put in over 6 gallons before even driving 5 miles and it barely peaked above empty. 6 gallons should have well exceeded the amount I used. The clerk who inspected the vehicle said it was acknowledged as empty when i checked it out, so there was only a credit if I returned it at 1/4 tank. There is a bigger difference between 3/16 and empty than there is between 3/16 and 1/4 tank. It would have cost me more than the credit to get it to a quarter tank. The response was that gas gets stolen, so that is why they have us refill. It seems to me that gas gets stolen and it gets charged to the next customer like it us their fault. Additionally i was told I could not park on the lot. I have a disabled persons special parking placard and I was denied this rightJulie C.
The strap broke on the door of the5x8 trailer to pull the door down and my friend fell off the back of the trailer trying to pull it down because it was stuck .. She sprained her wrist and fell on her back.. Also the app is garbage to return the trailer to .. It's totally not user friendly. Wouldn't upload the photos and spent a half hour on the phone with customer service trying to resolve the u haul share app .. Your trailers need to be serviced and make sure the roll down gates work properly. The trailer was dirty and had to be swept and moped out before I could put my furniture in it.. My friend fell on location of u haul on Blackstone and I'm sure you can see it on your cameras. CHECK YOUR EQUIPMENT BEFORE YOU RENT IT!Jerilyn L.

Given a truck that gas was siphoned- on EMPTY. Was told to still take truck- got less then a block and it DIED. SCARY! When I came back- no apology. Added less tyen one gallon to get us going. This cost me almost AN HOUR. And movers were on the clock- $180 an hour! Feels like uhaul stole from ME. NEVER AGAINskye K.

We were stranded for two hours the truck would not start roadside assistance had to come out and put a new battery and we didn't even travel far and I barely made it back in time to drop it off and they charge me $40 for gas they were very unfriendly when I took the truck back and let them know the situation and if there's something that they could help out you may be a discount or not having to pay for the gas she said absolutely not that are the rules yes I do understand that is the rules and I can see if we had traveled everywhere we used 10 miles of service for that truck that day it was very disappointing that no one accommodation was even offered I will never never use this location againKim S.

When I received the paperwork, the paper work stated I had a 1/4 of a tank of gas and the mileage. When I received the truck the gas tank was completely on empty and I wasn't sure if I would make it to a gas station and because I was so late getting to the appointment I made and concerned about getting to a gas in the truck, I forgot to take a picture of the dash board and the exact mileage which was apparently wrong as well. When I got back to the U-Haul site, the mileage on the paperwork and the end mileage on the dash board stated I had driven 172 mile when in fact I had only driven 46 miles round trip. They did correct it situation but it held me up longer than needed. The truck itself constantly smelled like exhaust fumes in the truck cab and the passenger side door was broken and would not lock which was frustrating as I wanted to lock some important items in the truck cab. When I make the reservation online, I had closer U-haul vendor closer to me but the site would not bring them up which was very frustrating.Kaye J.
The real issue was with your Regional Office in Temecula. They called me with The information that they could not take the truck that we were due to be dropped off in Oceanside. They said that there was no room at that location and we need to drive the truck to Vista. And this was during rush hour traffic I asked the girl that called me who, was very rude and who lacked a drop of empathy, why is it our job to take the van to another location because you have too many vans in Oceanside. Everyone is exhausted. We just drove all day. I mean we're in the middle of a move and everybody's exhausted she was not empathetic so we went out to the place that we were directed to which took over an hour to get to and when we got there no one was there!!! I've rented a lot of vans from U-Haul and I've never had such a terrible experience. I'd like someone to touch bases with me please.Elisa B.

The process to return equipment after hours is not well understood so there is a long line of vehicles being returned right at closing. I'm not sure if a video has already been made explaining the after hours return process but adding a link to the reservation that is recommended may help reduce anxiety people have about returning equipment after hoursPD A.

When I showed up for my reservation, the employees were in a discussion about how one employee almost got beat up by a customer, I waited til the end of the story then was help. #1 they marked the gas tank at 1/4 dull when it was well below a 1/4, the interior of the cargo, had ketchup packets all over, paperwork from previous rental and the windshield was covered with dead Bugs. I was unhappy with the rental but it was closing time and I needed it. The amount of effort by uhaul was lackluster to say the least....Jephrey N.

I love the location and how convenient it is. The process is easy in and easy out. However, my biggest issue when I rent uhaul every time is the uhaul I reserve is always filthy. It's never clean inside or outside. My last rental did not Even have gas in it. What if I wanted to leave town that moment. I have to stop and get gas? These cars should be clean and ready for it's next customer. Not satisfied at all. Also it required maintenance and I had to return it earlier than expected. Really disappointed. I may look for a different rental services in the future.Melissa R.

The tow dolly had a he on the inside of wheel fender. Right side and pictures taken before leaving lot. Clerk was only worried about if we had the adapter for the light connection. He wasn't concerned about checking if equipment was in proper working order until I asked about checking brake lights and hazards. He agreed to check those but otherwise said it was ready to go. During our trip out east noted that the word are crossed as when my husband would signal to turn right the left signal came and vice versa ( safety hazard). The other problem was that the running lights did not stay on which is a safety hazard. They would give a dull red blink every 5 seconds. When we got to the drop off destination we were told they weren't expecting the drop off. They had to call the Fresno store to confirm. I have receipt that they accepted equipment but this whole experience was horrible. I would not recommend this company for future travels with so little concern for safety of others. These issues should have been checked by the Fresno store before every getting put into service. I am asking for a refund based on the inconvenience and safety hazards that should not have happened. I rented a vehicle from this location for a few hours to move couple of shelves metal shelves. Upon returning the vehicle they told me the back of the car is filthy and they need to charge me $25. I informed the lady that I received the car filthy she said if that is the case that you should have taken a picture to prove that the car was filthy I told her do you have a picture that the car was Clean. she said this is your responsibility which is my responsibility to take a picture to indicate that the car is clean or dirty. I had a big argument with two ladies over there the car was extremely filthy as a matter fact I had too many pennies in my I found them at the cabinet. I collected them and I gave them to a liquor store next to the place that I was moving the shelf to. I had a very heated argument with the two ladies over there again it's not for the value of the $25 is about the integrity in the operation. I did not authorize them to charge that $25 yet they went and charge my credit card $106. When I tried to call the store back inquiring about the charges they were really putting me immediately into a voicemail. If you want to discuss further my phone number is 818-606-7083 She said I'm gonna mark you in the system that you are not allowed to rent anymore for u-haul. Ok as you wish I don't really care But again I did not authorize U-Haul to charge this $25 again it's not for the value of $25 it's for the integrity of the operationghassan M.

I was originally charged a higher rate than I should have. I asked when I brought the U-Haul back why I was charged and I was never given an answer. The U-Haul truck itself was very ghetto and made a screeching noise when I turned on the AC. Also, lacking welcoming customer service.andrew L.
Help customers get in and out. Had my uhaul in between two others on both front and back. Had to ask for assistance multiple times. I just wanted to get in out and get to work. Next one hope is betterezequiel Q.
Include the dolly when it's rented. I rented this size truck specifically for the dolly ramp, but, the dolly wasn't included and I was still charged. So, there was literally no point in upgrading my rental as the equipment I needed wasn't included. Sticky gear shift.Sarah L.
Customer service was absolutely horrendous. Rude staff except the girl with purple in her hair she helped out a lot as is the only reason why you are receiving 2 stars. I had a way better experience with a Uhaul neighborhood dealer previous but I wanted to try to go to an actual Uhaul location but holy the three people I dealt with only the one girl was nice. No parking for anyone even the suburban propane truck which was blocking me from leaving. Never will be returning to this location. Truck I was given also had a check engine light the whole time. Even when I was assured the truck was fine it was constant anxiety not knowing if the truck was gonna make it.DEREK A.
Horrendous parking, staff was blocking entrance with another customer hooking a trailer to truck causing traffic to back up on blackstone, no customer parking, over crowded, no lobby for customers to sit and wait, not enough employees the whole process was a headache.
