I was rented a van with a tire that was nearly flat. I didn't realize it until I almost got into an accident. It shouldn't be on the customer to make sure the vehicle meets the minimum standard of driveability.

We got a truck with faulty air conditioning system and radio out of order. We could not replace it due to time/labor needs to pack the goods in LA and had to drive about 7-8 hrs on hwy 5 north in the heat of the day in those conditions.

The parking lot was terribly crowded and not organized at all. When we returned the vehicle (the same day we had rented it earlier) we went inside, waited in line, and then were told we were supposed to wait outside by the vehicle and someone would come to check us in. Well, we waited and waited and finally my husband had to track someone down. Even after he supposedly checked us in, we got a call two days later asking when we were going to return the vehicle.

They were very helpful. The location was great. The reason I am giving them one star, is because the tow dolly that was given to me ripped the entire bumper off my Acura, and then once we got the bumper back on, the chains on the dolly wouldn't wrap around my vehicle. So not only did my bumper get ruined, the dolly wouldn't fit my sedan. The U-Haul system said that the dolly would fit my Acura, and it didn't. So, I am unhappy because of the damage done to my car that could have been easily avoided if the system told me that the tow dolly would not fit my car.

Expecting a senior to remove the trailer & when told she could not do so,was charged $25 to have an employee do it. The trailer was hooked up so poorly by men at Shell Rapid Lube in Albuquerque that we were told it was a miracle we were able to complete the trip from Albuquerque to Los Angeles! Glad we bought insurance!

The people that worked there were fine. It was just that there was a lack of people to deal with the line going out the door. Also, I wasn't given a dolly that I was charged for and when I returned it they just charged me even after I told them I never received it in the first place. Though everything else was okay.

I have rented a Uhaul truck/van here on several occasions, everything seems okay except for over-charging/double charging you for equipment. I called when I got my final receipt and was told that they'd make the adjustment and return the money but they never did.

There is a need for more than one person to be operating the mobile pickup option; I was supposed to have my truck at 9, however that was impossible due to the fact that they open at 9am and there was only one guy trying to serve 10 people picking up their trucks. There shouldn’t be an option to pickup a truck at opening since I didn’t get mine until 10am, and was supposed to have it for two hours. Absolutely terrible customer service and communication.

Honestly, the place was great, however, when I made the reservation on the phone I SPECIFICALLY DECLINED a dolly and furniture pads. When I opened the truck to start loading at my location, I noticed they were in there, and the dolly honestly got in the way a LOT because it was a tight squeeze. Then, when I returned the truck I was charged for the dolly and the furni pads which I didn't use at ALL. The plastic seal was still on the dolly. Then when I did the chat to ask for a refund there were hoops to jump through and Rachel, who was helping me first put in a request and said it would take 3 business days...only when I said something was she able to get me an immediate refund for a charge that should never have been there in the first place and that I on record (your calls are recorded) declined...the whole experience felt a little gross and deceptive and I was turned off to be completely honest. Rachel on the customer chat deserves a raise because I know I was pretty demanding and difficult, but I was pretty irate and the only way that I was able to get my refund immediately was to be that way...Also for the record, every other UHAUL experience I've ever had in my entire life has been so pleasant and friendly and straight-forward.

I was running late to pick up my truck. About 15 minutes after my rental period started, I received a call from a number I didn't recognize. I answered and said "hello." A male voice said, "hey." That was it. Didn't identify himself, didn't say hello, just "hey." So I asked who it was, and he said he was calling from U-Haul. Very unprofessional phone manners. Also the guy at the front desk got me started on the mobile check in process;. When I got to the point where it showed where the truck was, I asked him about it, he directed me to the truck. and watched me walk out the door. I got to the truck and it was locked. I walked back to the office. That was when he decided to tell me that I had to answer more questions before he could give me a key, though he had directed me to go to the truck without a key.

Sketchy neighborhood with a staff too busy to care. I returned my truck (rental #21540513) to the Hollywood location on Sunday May 27 at 5:20 pm with 3/4 tank of gas. I took pictures of the odometer showing the 20,945 mileage and 3/4 tank of gas. U-Haul billed my credit card $75.01 in extra fuels charges saying the tank was empty. Clearly this is a scam or someone syphoned the gas from the truck. I’ve left messages at (323) 666-7326 for someone to call me back, but no one has. My number is(310) 497-8428.

So, I was scheduled to drop off my truck at 748 Vine, Los Angeles CA I drove there, spent my time and gas and lady at the store told me that THIS IS PICK UP ONLY. Then Korea Town Uhaul on Western SAME PROBLEM. You guys should know which location is for DROP OFF. So unprofessional and such a waste of my time and money. I even called the customer service and was advised to go to those locations. Very unsatisfying.

Inconvenient. My first contract never went through with express check out. I technically was using the truck without a contract or the coverage I opted for. This is dangerous. My trust with uhaul is gone. As an active duty service member, I move frequently and will be searching for other companies in the future.

The Hollywood Uhaul location was really easy to get to and easy to work with. The associate there was extremely helpful and got us checked in with no problems. This location has tons of trucks available so if you ever need to rent anything I would definitely recommend this one.

There's not much you can do to improve. The female manager has been a uHaul employee for 20 years it seems. However, she is inefficient, forgetful, not tech savvy, and only in management because she has been there for awhile which does not necessarily make her management material. Also why wouldn't the motorcycle uHaul trailer not come with tie down straps? I thought the straps were provided according to the uHaul website. had to purchase a few straps which was an annoyance.

This location was understaffed. The workers who were there worked very hard and were great to work with, but the line was long and with only one person at the desk the wait was too long. Otherwise, it was fine.

I had to wait close to an hour for my turn only to find out that I didn't have to come in. This experience has most likely caused me to look for other moving solutions aside from uHaul in the future.

Perhaps I just came at unusually busy times when I picked up the truck and when I returned it, but service was very slow, all of the staff seemed rather stressed and cold, and overall just felt like more work on both ends than it should have been. Also, there were a number of aggressive loiterers on the premises that I could have done without.

The morning employees were so much more helpful and polite! Had to return in the afternoon to have the auto transport attached and all of the employees were making it difficult in that they could have just signed through the reservation and attached it but instead chose to give me a hard time about having missed their calls during the day...I was packing and didn’t have my phone on me! Get the Wi-Fi system backed up....While checking in the system was down....Marcos was excellent and an asset to the U Haul Team. I also don't like having to give an email address nor my cell phone...I am there to rent a truck to trailer and not interested in giving personal information...I buy cars & trucks without having to give the aforementioned info...please consider dropping that. along with emergency # for another person...too much info...you have my credit card etc...make it a pleasant experience instead of a negative one...thanks. They over estimate how much gas you use. They marked it just above where it was when I picked it up and then tried to charge me just below where it was when I returned it. I went all of 8 miles and they wanted $11 for 2 gallons of gas. Very shady!

The car was not in very good condition. It was making lots of noise. Driving was not comfortable.It took $15.00 gas for 21 miles drives altogether. Gas consumption was way extremely high. With all other cost it cost me more than $91 for 5 hours use. I should get it for 24 hours, but she gave me 21 hours. I returned after 4/5 hours. My experience was not that good. Car itself was not good either. I might go back there in future but my experience was not good altogether.

The man who helped me did not offer assistance and was not polite at all. I had to find a broom on the property to sweep out the trailer while he stood by and argued that he wasn’t taking it back until I cleaned it. His attitude was dismissive and not how you should treat a customer. I asked how to handle the situation I was in and just told me to call someone else and deal with it. Thanks.

Well, I can't say my experience was great for one huge important reason... during my reservation over the phone I was advised by the albeit friendly customer service guy that a 10 foot truck would suit my needs well. This was after explaining to him in detail about every piece of my furniture and possessions that would need to fit in the truck because the last thing you want is a truck that's too small on moving day. And of course that's exactly what happened. He said "the 10 footer will give you plenty of room". It did not. This not only caused an enormous amount of stress because there was no way to make 2 trips, but several of my possessions were damaged from the people helping me move, trying their hardest to cram as much as they could into it because we had no choice. Annnd now I need to replace my very nice entertainment center, yayyy!??. And all I needed was the next size up in truck which would have only cost me another $10. The rest of my uhaul experience was smooth, friendly and efficient with all the staff and process, etc. But perhaps staff need to be a bit better trained in advising customers on truck size needs? Because this is the one time you don't mind some upselling. Having too small of a truck wasn't an inconvenience, it was an absolute nightmare, and moving is rough enough, lol. And I literally asked the guy "are you sure the 10 footer will be big enough?" And he said "definitely. You'll have plenty of room". Well I learned an important lesson at least! Just give me the 18 wheeler! Lol ??

I was told by customer service if I did Express Check in I would be able to pay online with an overseas company card and I called to confirm everything went through properly. When we went to pick up the vehicle, that was not the case. Also, the truck did not have the dolly's we rented and the vehicle didn't have the keys. We had to wait for an employee to show up and bring the keys because we picked up after hours. The next day UHaul tried to charge $300 for the dolly's and told us until the dolly's were returned I was going to be charged for another daily rental until they closed the contract, finally they decided to "do us a favor" and not charge for them. I received my receipt and we were still charged. Additionally, adding on 6 more hours to the rental cost double the cost of the 24 hour rental. They also couldn't assist with any information on parking overnight around their area.

I was under the impression that I was paying partly for hours I rented the vehicle and partly for the miles I drove. I picked the car up at 930am and said i would bring it back likely by 5pm. Then i asked what time the store closed in the event that i return it later. I was told they closed at 7pm. So, they put that in their system. I was able to get help moving my belongings and so actually returned the truck very early, before 2pm. But when I got my bill, it was the same as the estimate had I kept it until 7pm. Neither the guy who I gave the keys to nor the front desk person was able to give me a satisfactory response as to why my bill was not reduced to reflect my actual usage. Very disappointing. Is it really the policy that whether I use the truck for 1 hour vs 10 hours, the rate is the same? And what I pay is solely based on the miles I drive?

I waited 30 minutes simply to return the vehicle. The lot was not completely full and the trucks in the lot could be moved to accommodate returning vehicles. U-haul just did not have enough personnel to handle all the returns. It was an inconvenience to me and forced me to rearrange my schedule. Otherwise, the service was relatively good.

Literally the worst, items that were available online were not available at the locations. Staff at the Hollywood location looked visibly annoyed even by the simplest question. I was skipped in line because the clerk behind the desk told me what I needed would take too long. Then when it was my turn I Wanda’s told I was in the wrong place and would be helped outside. I WAS PASSED UP FOR NOTHING COSTING ME 20 minutes because they wouldn’t even listen to me just having to return a truck.
