Recent changes to the office area make the location customer friendly. Personnel were courteous, friendly, and efficient. My reservation (last minute) was ready and I was in and out of the office in 15 minutes. I live in Auburn and the representative I spoke to on the phone told me they don't transfer a trailer to a location near me so I had to drive an hour to pick it when there's a store less than 5 minutes from my home. The associate in Ithaca said they go all the way to Syracuse to pick up drop off equipment. That's well over an hour away.JONTRACY M.
While the dirty exterior can be forgiven due to the snowy conditions, the half-inch thick ice on the roof cannot. We scraped the ice ourselves before driving off the lot. Also, the trailer had some sort of leak that allowed water intrusion into the back couple feet of the trailer. When we got to our destination, things in the last two or three feet of the trailer were wet.BRIAN M.

Prior to re-renting all trailers should be inspected for wheel bearings and tires condition and general mechanical parts lubrication. Mine had badly worn tires and one sloppy/loose wheel bearing. I had to clean/lubricate corroded hitch coupler components and all the overhead door rollers and latch in order get these to function safely and properly.Richard T K.

My comments have nothing to do with this specific location, but the online reservation and rental system. I've rented a 10 foot truck for December 30. I showed up to pick the truck up, but my reservation was changed to 289 foot cargo van without my knowledge. The process of changing my reservation back from a cargo van to a 10 foot truck was extremely frustrating, and in fact the reservation was not changed correctly in that the insurance I had purchased did not make it to the updated reservation. In fact, when my reservation was changed back to a 10 foot truck, are used the online tool to check in, and I checked in on a different truck then I was actually issued. The front desk person a short me that he would fix the reservation, but it did not leave me feeling very comfortable to drive off the lot in a different truck then was stated in my reservation. Fortunately, nothing happened to the truck and I was able to return it using the online tool. But I lost an hour of time, and had more stress than I needed on an already stressful day.Drew P.

I was rented an unsafe vehicle that smelled of cigar smoke and I want a full refund. The tire tread barely would pass inspection and I got stranded in snow and had to walk 1 1/2 miles at 8:30 pm because there was no traction with these tires. When picking up my truck, my experience was ACE!!!! Thanks!!! The young man checking me in for returning my truck needs to be re-trained!!!!! Well over 30 mins to check my truck in and I was his only customer. Zero interest in introducing himself or informing me what his intentions were in regards to checking my truck in. I was the 1 that engaging. I felt I would have been there for very much longer if I hadn't initiated engaging with him. He seemed very pissy!!!MATTHEW C.

The drop off location was changed when we picked up the uhaul without our consent. We were then charged an additional 240$ for a change in location that we did not agree to but after hours of being on hold and talking to 5 different people, no one could issue us a refund or resolve the problem. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had with any service. The person who signed me in and gave me the keys was rude and seemed disturbed that they ever had to talk to me; the starter on the truck would get stuck and it would take approximately ten minutes each time I had to start the truck; my furniture pads were missing and calling the customer service number and being bounced around from rep to rep was infuriating and without care from anyone and made moving an even worse experience. Two days have gone by and I am still as hurt and upset as I was on Saturday when all this took place. The only helpful part of this whole experience was Yolanda (ID unknown) at Uhaul corporate. Yolanda was wonderful. I would be happy to speak to anyone else about this horrendous experience.Vincent C.

Picking up the truck was way too slow because the rep worked as slowly as a turtle walks and also took a call while processing my truck.. He said the delay was due to the computer being slow. Either way, it shouldn't take 30 minutes to pick up a truck that's already been reserved.Peter M.
When I picked up the uhaul the paperwork was provided to me stating that the uhaul had 3/4th a tank of gas in it however the tank was only filled to just above the the empty mark. About 5 miles away from the empty mark. Whe returned we in good faith filled the tank to what they said it was at. But I have taken pictures of the gas Guage at the time of pickup and the metadata on the pictures will show this to match Second issue was the cleanliness of the uhaul. The microphone built into the uhaul for hands free phone was torn out and not functional at all and the bottom of the radio and ev controls wires hanging out of opening that some sort of plastic coveres had been missing. All over the dash and the seats and floor it looked like someone spilled something like milk all over the place, wrappers from McDonald's stuck to the floor and behind the seats the previous users were obvious smokers since the entire cab smelled like a raw cigarette and I have allergies and asthma this caused my asthma to flair up to the point I had to go to my doctor to get a new inhaler since I haven't needed one in years. I tried to contact the uhaul office we rented it from multiple times with no answers. Lastly when booking the reservation both online and on the phone the truck was rented for 72 hours and my confirmation email shows 72 hours. But the second day the employees tracked me and my business partner down in a gas station parking lot to harass us about not returning the truck after the first day 24 hours into the reservation and strong armed us into returning the unit after the second day. To get them off out backs we told them it will be returned by 4pm Severely cutting our our schedule beyond short. We ended up not being able to return the truck until 3am the next morning due to the amount of office equipment being moved to our new location. I am severely disappointed in the service and quality of professionalism provided by the employees my partner and I are scheduled to move in a storage unit for our business storage on Friday renting a extra large 10x20x13 or a 10x30x13 unit but I don't know if this is going to happen or if we will be looking elsewhere taking another large partition of out time and money out of our pockets. I will be contacting hq over all of this I am owed and am entitled to a refund over this experience. Also the $495 they tried to charge to my card that my bank blocked *thank God my bank knows better than to allow that* for a cleaning fee, late return fee, and gas fee smhDaniel K.

First the truck I rented did not work - could not get the parking brake to release, AND the key did not work to turn the truck on. THEN, I had to fill up with 4,5 gallons even though I only went 28 miles (the very helpful local agent told me the truck runs 10 miles to the gallon; obviously I hadn't been given a truck with a full tank). I let it go but overall, probably won't rent from UHaul again :(MARIATIA H.

I was treated like my time didn't matter. I scheduled the appointment in August, prepaid, got booked for October, showed up on my appointment date, and got turned away because they didn't have the parts in stock. They could have called, but nope, I drove the whole way in just to be turned away. They said they'd be in touch when they get the parts. 10 days later I call in to see what's taking so long and when I get scheduled, and they say they have the parts in stock and can hook me up the very next day. So, either I'm extremely lucky to have called them the day the parts came in, or they just didn't bother to call and schedule with me. Scheduled for a few days later, showed up, was told I wasn't on the schedule for that day. They said they'd squeeze me in and make it work, and my car would be done by 1230, and they'd call me when it was finished. I call at 4 to see what's taking so long, and they tell me it's been done for a while. Its hard for me to imagine a worse experience customer-service wise.Michael P.
My initial appointment for the installation of a trailer hitch to my 2021 Toyota Highlander was not honored. When I appeared at the specified time and date, the hitch had not even been received. My subsequent appointment for 10 AM on 10/26/2021 was delayed until sometime after 1 PM. This made for unnecessary travel on my part. Very disappointing.Don S.
