Employees closed shop before the actual closing time of 7pm and were sitting inside ignoring customers outside asking for help. They quite literally walked around the store and treated the customers outside as though they were invisible. At 7, they left the store through the back door. I asked one of the employees, "I have a one minute question: where should I park the truck?". The employee answered unpleasantly. When I told the employee that what they had done (as described here) constituted horrible customer service, the employee simply responded "Yeah? Well take it to corporate" and walked away. I responded "I will", and so therefore I am writing this set of comments for management's attention.siddharth A.
I reserved the Uhaul for a 6 am pick up in Lowell. When I arrived, the keys were not in the lock box, the truck was not parked in the correct spot, there was another truck parked in front of it and the exit was blocked by another truck. The customer service representative (Kristen) was rude and unapologetic. We had to wait an hour at the location until a store employee arrived. This person was also in a bad mood and unapologetic. I think you all forgot that this was entirely YOUR fault, not mine. I will never rent from this location again and you all should feel embarrassed for how you treated a customer who did nothing wrong.cody H.

Close and convenient. Very busy Friday night but woman working was efficient and friendly. Return was quick. Van was well maintained and clean in outside but interior not so hot: Dog hair, cigarette burn on seat. Bring something to cover floor if moving something you want to stay cleanJudith M.
The only negative was not being provided with a full tank of gas when received from the facility. Had to stop and fill it up on my way out. This also resulted in me dropping off the truck at the end of the rental with approximately 10 additional gallons of gas in the tank. Tank was 1/4 full when received and 3/4 full when returned.JOHN K.

The â€œSâ€ hook on the trailer safety chain wouldn't fit the attachment point on my vehicle's hitch. The agent had to jury rig it. Unfortunately, the chain disconnected during operation on the road and was dragging. I tried reattaching it but to no avail. The â€œSâ€ hook on the trailer chain needs to have a wider opening. This is an important safety issue.Paul S.

The woman that checked out my truck was fantastic!Michael G.
Reserved a 20' truck, 4 dozen pads, and two dolly's a month in advance. Called U-Haul corporate to confirm a week prior. An hour before pick-up on the day of our reservation I get a call from U-Haul who tell me "your truck broke". What!!? U-Haul has one and *only* one 20' truck and they didn't know it broke until an hour before pick up? I ask to speak to a manager and an angry guy hops on the call. I tell him I have 8 folks standing around waiting to get paid and need the truck I reserved a month before. He barks, "I have a smaller truck I can give you as a favor. Do you want it or not?" He adds that he is "the President of U-Haul". I take the smaller truck reservation since I don't have any choice at this point. When I show up there are no moving pads, no dolly's, and the much smaller truck has a smashed radiator and a flat front tire. I look up the title of the angry guy who "did me a favor". He's president of the local Eastern Massachusetts organization, not "the President of U-Haul". If you are thinking of U-Haul, especially anywhere in Massachusetts, do yourself a favor: call a competent organization like Rainbow Movers or Gentle Giant. We were very unhappy that the location closest to our home did not receive the 15 foot truck that was verified several times two weeks prior to pick up - -Instead we received a call the day prior that we had to drive all the way over to Middlesex ave location to pick the truck up -- that added on extra mileage, plus we got lost on the way back to our home due to detours and added more extra mileage. U-haul should do a better job of guaranteeing equipment at the dealer you choose.PAUL T.
I tried calling many times due to a problem with the truck and couldnt get through for hours . i Thought i was calling the store i picked up the truck from so i could exchange it for another but kept getting a middle man that couldnt help me would only recomend creating anothe rental contract in wich i didnt understand.. Ensure that what's ordered is actually placed in the uhaul vehicle. My furniture suffered damage and movers injuries because the furniture cover and dollies for easy transport weren't in the van. Also, the staff was extremely nonchalant about the oversight when I called. No apology or acknowledgement of what happened. I've yet to determine the cost to my furniture.SHAKIYA S.

The Lowell location was fine. In fact, I appreciate them for being accommodating there and helping me. BIG issue with Uhual in general (NOT Lowells location) I was originally supposed to get my uhual truck for a big move, at the Dracut pickup on Bridge St. Got confirmation emails leading up to it and instructions on where to go, time, and how to get my truck, etc. Upon arriving at the time I was said to, and the location, NO ONE was there. It was a car business with a few Uhuals parked out front. Business was closed. Phone number to call was useless. Called Uhuals customer help number and was given a 30-40 min wait time.... mind you, I had a tight schedule because I was *moving* and had movers waiting on me/the truck to load and it ended up costing me a lot more for having them wait. 30-40 min wait time for a big issue PLUS a closed business for a location I was sent to and NO ASSISTANCE whatsoever, definitely an awful situation. I don't know who dropped the ball so bad on Uhuals end, or the business but it was an absolute nightmare. FORTUNATELY was able to find and call another number and they said Lowell could help me. But this whole fiasco could have been avoided and I 100 % felt misled and fucked over by uhual telling me to go to this Dracut location and time, for it to be vacant and no help, and lose time/money. It was awful and I can't even express how disappointed I was by that and how much it cost me. Completely messed up.Samantha A.

It is very frustrating to very frequently get a truck with 1/4 tank of gas that only give 100 miles. This means that if I am traveling more than 100 miles, I need to fill the tank up twice. I don't understand why Uhaul can't at a minimum provide trucks with 1/2 or 3/4 tanks as a service to it's customers.doug B.

The store manager left with customers waiting for over 35 minutes. She left the store lock the door and put a sign up saying please wait we'll be back at 9:30. She did this as we were sitting in the lot getting ready to walk in. Several other people were waiting another employee showed up and apologized and explained that it shouldn't have happened and she is so sorry. From there forward the rep who did my order She was great super easy to work with something needs to be looked at with the management.Joshua S.
I rented the 9' cargo van which says it fits a queen mattress on the rental website. I thought this was a little misleading because it does fit, but it takes up almost the entire cargo area. I thought the van would be tall enough to fit the mattress vertically instead of flat, so it ended up being very difficult trying to fit everything in.ANDREAS G.

The lady at the front desk was amazing (didn't catch her name all I know is she has blonde hair), the vans on the other hand are disgusting. The first van I got into was full of cat hair everywhere which I'm allergic too so I asked to get another van and when I hopped it in there was popcorn all over the passenger seat and there was a water bottle in the back flying around which is weird because I thought you guys charge extra when the equipment comes back dirty so you guys could clean it. I received a confirmation email guaranteeing my reservation for a 10' truck at 10:00 PM the night before my move. The next afternoon, there was no truck waiting for me, and my information had reportedly disappeared from the system. I had to scramble to find an alternative. I am not pleased.Sam B.

I dropped trailer off and a girl unhooked me. I said can I have a receipt for dropping off the trailer and she said she'd email me once she checked it in. By the next day with no email I call did online chat and a phone call to uhaul looking for my receipt. Both contacts said they reached out to the location and left a message. By the 2nd day with no email the drop off location called me looking for their trailer. I said I gave it to you and made them put me on hold while they looked for it. Thankfully they found it and I finally got my receipt. Problems with both pick up and drop off. Disappointing with uhaul. Another problem I had was I had an appointment to have a hitch put on a second vehicle, I drove 45 minutes to have it put on at a Syracuse NY location by 7am. I get there and they said they forgot to call me, they don't have a hitch. So I drove 45 minutes back home with no hitch. I thought uhaul was better than this. I guess I was wrong.Kenneth S.

The equipment we reserved was not available. For the record...2 10 ft trucks do not equate to the 20ft we had reserved. We reserved in Salem NH but had to go to Lowell MA to pick up the trucks and impose on neighbors to drive us there. Customer service is not any part of UHaul. Very sadGregory Jon O.

I asked for a Leominster Pick up. It was accepted. Then it was changed to Worcester. Before I left the house to go to Worcester, I had another email that I had to go to Lowell! I paid so much money in mileage it was ridiculous. Poor way to run a company. Don't say yes to a customer about pick up location and change it three times!ZACHARY A.
I reserved my rental truck under the 24/7 option and the day of my move I was told, â€œYou have to wait until we open at 9am.â€ I wanted the 24/7 option so I can retrieve my truck early and start my move but it was delayed because I had to wait until the store opened. I called customer service and they told me, â€œ there is mostly likely something wrong with the truck and they had to switch the one they reserved for you.â€ If this was the case this should have been taken care of days ago since I reserved the truck a week in advance.SARAH G.
The dolly on the truck I paid 7 bucks for had a flat tire. I had to stop my move to go pump it at a gas station, which was a waste of time. The tire ended up deflating on its own, probably had a hole. I was on crunch time, so I had no time to go exchange it. When I brought the truck back the girl grabs the key and said everything is all set! I was too tired to ask questions or say anything about that dolly from the move. I ended up getting an email saying I was charged 5 $and some change for not filling the gas..I actually spent 7 $filling the gas. I wanted to call and complain, but I'm just super exhausted from moving and is the women that looks like she hated her job is going to listen to me, yet..believe me? I Never had an issue with this location until this time. I was also charged more extra for something else...but I couldn't figure it out. Some shady business going on here. If someone actually care or read this, please email me back. I'm a nurse and work really hard for me money.ALEXANDER K.

Side mirror was cracked. This vehicle should have been repaired before rented. Also, there was a line out the door of people picking up. There should have been two agents at the counter. I felt so bad for the poor girl working by herself. It was crazy in there.Valerie W.

When a customer places an order ahead of time for equipment they should get the equipment that they requested for. I went in after placing my order a week ahead of time and my equipment was unavailable. It was a very big inconvenience for my move and I feel like it would've been different if I had just came in same-day without placing an order previously but I placed one I had a time which I feel as if should've guaranteed me the equipment that I had requested.REMRATHANA K.
