There is some kind of scam going on at UHaul in Natick, Massachusetts - we have just had an outrageous experience there. We have rented vans at UHaul Natick several times before, and we've always had a good experience. But I notice that there are new people working there, and I think there really is some kind of scam going on. On Sunday, July 7, 2019, we rented a van and brought it back on time. I followed my husband in our car as he drove the van back, and before we left, we both went around and shut all the doors of the van to make sure they were all closed properly. The van was in good shape - no dents or problems. Now we have a charge on our credit card a "dent," and the very rude manager at UHaul Natick, Mason Soliere, told my husband that there was a dent in the car. When he went in to drop off the car on Sunday, the young guy there told him, "You're all set." He didn't even take a minute to go out and check the van, etc. I think this was on purpose -- because clearly there was NO dent on the van. Then they put through the charge for $182. on our credit car without asking or letting us know. They must have just thought they could get by with this outrageous behavior - again, I think there's some kind of a scam going on.

When I first waited in line, being disabled I needed to sit for my order. I was waiting at the short desk height spot and would have lost my place in one were it not for he honest client who came in after me. Still, I had to pull the chair across to the general standing in line area for him to see me. Also, when several trucks came back, after I’d paid but before I had my equipment, I was held up by their check-in process. This feels unfair since the 24 hr clock was ticking.

No customer parking, poorly organized lot. Bad smell in building. Had plenty of time to observe rude staff member. All of this would have not been noticed if it didn't take an hour and a half to pick up a 4x8 trailer. I probably would tell people to use the location because its the only large location around. Its a shame some of the smaller locations around don't receive more stock.

You’re gas mileage said full when I took the truck out. It was not all the way to the F, but it was at a line prior to the F. When I returned the truck with the gas level to the same level as I took it out, I was charged roughly $8.00 to fill the truck. Not good.

We were charged for extra one day rental although we returned the truck within 8 hours. We were charged because the store rep said we were late for 2 hours than our estimated return time. We never been told we will be charged for extra day rental for late return when we signed the contract though.

Using the app to pick up the truck is a pain. It does not say the alternate contact cannot be the driver (I am the account holder so it couldn’t be me either). Then I was not told that the alternate would be called. Most of my alternates will not answer a call if they don’t recognize the number. Would have sped up the process if I could have alerted them that a call was coming. This happened to TWO other renters while I was there. My truck got stuck behind one as their alternate wouldn’t answer the call either. Another issue I had was that the truck number I first received was also given to another driver. Very poor system.

Computer systems were slow. This caused a long backup of customers and obvious frustration for the team working. They have a lean operation, and if one person is trying to deal w/ tech issues, everything backs up quickly. there were 5 people waiting within 15min... Seems like nice and professional individuals working, but the tech issues may be something they are unable to address. So, they become powerless fast. Seems like a corporate IT dept should look into this.

As stated in the last section, the Uhaul I was given initially only had half a tank of gas. Instead of waiting for me to show them the document that the Bedford Uhaul had written up, they just took the key, charged me for gas and told me there's nothing they can do about it.

You need to put more staff at this location. They are unable to answer the phone because there is a constant line of in store customers. Your call center is completely worthless and unable to assist with anything so it is impossible to speak with anything about simple things like scheduling without being there in person. You guys are the worst. I’ll use Penske or anyone else in the future rather than risk a repeat of my last experience.

My reservation was not available for the time UHaul confirmed. I had my entire day planned around the confirmation from you. Then talking to customer service on the phone they hung up on me. It was some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

We use this location often and have always found the staff efficient and helpful. But there was only one person working the desk on a busy Saturday... the other person was a Trainee. The one person working the desk was great...but we ended up having to change our pickup time to avoid the very long wait.

Very nice and helpful and as efficient as possible, but he was basically working by himself with a "trainee" and was overwhelmed. Waited 30 Minutes in line. That location needs at least 2 more employees working on a Saturday. Hire some more people!

Very disappointed. I reserved a truck in Framingham ma not Natick ma. I went to Framingham location on Sunday @8am and my reservation had been redirected to Framingham and they didn’t open till 9 am. The redirect was inconvenient because fracas very close to that I walked to the location and also they were open longer 8 to 6 pm. Which was what I needed. I could have reserved at other locations but I chose 105 Hollis st Framingham because of convenience and proximity. I did get an email letting me know of my reservation in Natick but I did not see it until sunday. Very disappointing even though Natick was only 7 miles away. I even went to Framingham location the day I made the reservation to confirm and spoke with a gentleman and he was able to bring my confirmation number and that everything was ok. Same gentlemen was there when I went to pick up truck and he remembered me he looked up my confirmation number and that’s when we both found that my reservation had been redirected to Natick. He apologized and I understand it was not his fault. The fault is at headquarters someone should have contacted me by phone to let me know

XXXX. GO ANYWHERE ELSE. XXXX. Went into the store to reserve a 9 ft cargo van 3 days before we needed it. Took our reservation and told us we could pick it up at 2 pm that Saturday. Arrived and were told they had cancelled our reservation and there were no trucks available!! My husband was pissed!! They blamed it on the fact that another customer had not returned on time and there was nothing they could do about it...told us to come back at 6 and they would have one available. Because of their horrible reservation practices we had to delay the move to the next day, pay for a night at a hotel and miss a day of work'!!! Horrible business, WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN-I don’t know how they are still in business, STAY AWAY. I thought for the aggravation and inconvenience they would comp us some miles or even cover our gas $$—ATROCIOUS!!

To continue my story, when I told the Natick employee the issue with the mileage, he said the Malden location should had handled it, there was nothing he could do about it, and he had already emailed me the receipt. Oh, and to top it off, I was charged an extra $10 for cleaning. Cleaning what? The pads that you guys rented to me? There was no dirt, no liquid spill on the truck, nothing left in the front seats. That was a cheap, last minute move to charge extra. Will definitely not use Uhaul again and will not recommend to anyone.

Their customer relations sucks and they overcharge, I booked a $19.99 special, spent two and a half hours, drove 21 miles and was charged $95 (oh yes, and the car was not full when I took it, I told them and they said they would note it, but they did not). Worst Uhaul experience yet.

Waited for almost an hr in line. Rental process and paperwork needs to be made simpler and faster. Out of 3 people at the location one was wrapping blankets and restocking shelves when clearly there were enough supplies on shelves and he could have used his time move the wait line. BTW, the computer system and program seemed antiquated as well.

Have people ready to receive returns. 3 people were waiting to speak to an agent while two agents were ingrained speaking to one customer. Streamline that process and have someone receiving returns or at the very least or a floater who can address immediate concerns. HORRIBLE experience all around. For the price that is paid you should go to Ryder or Penske EVERYTIME

UHaul said I had to go to another location to pick up my trailer - about three hours roundtrip. I refused and asked for a larger box in Natick. Why would UHaul force me to travel so far when I made the reservation about six days ahead of time, and you confirmed that I could pick it up in Natick.
