We tri d to call ahead and we're on hold for about 20 minutes. When we got there, there were three employees hanging out outside, but no customers. The employees weren't helping anyone or maintaining or checking vehicles, they were just chatting. When we mentioned our phone me call we were told that they had forwarded calls to the call center, but did not explain why or apologize for our wait. The parking lot is a bit annoying, tight with one driveway for entering and one for exit, but they're not labeled with signs. We entered at the exit driveway, but didn't see until we were in the lot and there was no way to turn around without backing up onto a busy street. Our contactless pick up didn't work (the app wouldn't register my location, even though that feature was turned on), the employee who helped us knew we were in a hurry, but he did not rush or seem at all concerned with our plans or problem checking in. Since it took twice as long to grab the truck, we had to head home. We live 4 miles from there and on that drive the check engine light turned on. We called and were told by the call center that they'd rather we have it seen by road side assistance than just trade it in. We waited over three hours for a technician (not the fault of this location), only to find that the vehicle hadn't been properly inspected before our rental, fluids were at about half of what they need to be to run smoothly, which meant that they hadn't been properly checked in a while. Huge inconvenience as we couldn't finish sh bed time with our son or get ready for bed ourselves to wait for the technician. This should not have happened. When I mentioned it on return, they guy just said ,"yeah, I see that on your notes." Then he took the keys. No apology, explanation, or offer for any discount for our time wasted. I will rent from U-Haul again, but never from this location.

My initial reservation was cancelled and when the rep who called me said I agreed to round trip return. I didn't even see this on the online reservation which was very upsetting. If I knew I agreed to this I would have made sure not to choose round trip I would have chosen one way. Also I agreed to the insurance and to a refrigerator dolly which was not in the truck, but rep I was talking to assured me the truck came with a dolly. I had movers waiting for me to move my appliances but had to do so very carefully with a small dolly that was in the UHaul truck. Your staff was trying to be accomodating but was not able to which was very unfortunate for me and a waste of time. I don't plan on needing a truck to move anything soon but if I do I will have to go with another rental place.

The online checkin process was not complete, they asked for additional information that was sensitive to share out load to strangers. Also the charge for 2 days for having 10 hrs of rental was ridiculous it wasn't even half an actual day, it wasn't like the another rental was lost, it was a late night return. Overall it was poor service, will consider alternatives in the future. Representatives were helpful as much as they were allowed supposedly.

I booked for 24 hours online and only got 12 hours of rental. I got a call reminding me to return the car after 12 hours. I called the number (626)2864933 trying to explain the situation and hoped that I can get 24 hours, but the customer service was really rude and said I already signed the contract, which really pisses me off. After finishing moving, I returned the car and found the person who checked me in. He solved the problems for me. However, the phone service was a nightmare for me.

Hidden fees. Incorrect quotes. 2nd time this has happened. I will gladly take my business elsewhere and always steer people away from uhaul. I will point them to any other service available, as uhaul customer service representatives incorrectly break down charges and you are hit with a bill $100 more than quoted, even if you drive fewer miles than estimated. Never doing business here again.

Instead of taking pictures of myself and DL on site, why not do this before hand. Reference phone numbers should be on file when first renting and the reference phone calls could have been made in advance. The staff on site seemed preoccupied and were in no hurry to assist.

i rent so many times from uhaul. First time to be charged for cleaning fee. Every time i clean truck before returning. First time and also the last time rent from this location

I made my reservation via phone and when I got to location to pick up vehicle they could not locate my reservation. I am glad the rep was still able to provide me a vehicle to use but it took a while to get everything processed. I also fee some of the reps in store could work on their customer service. I am aware they are busy but they don't greet and they don't acknowledge.

With COVID, there are new check out/check in procedures. I received texts regarding confirmation of my reservation but I never received the texts to scan my ID, for the checkout checklist/damage form. I also found out this morning after reviewing the receipt that the check in mileage is lower on the receipt than what I actually received it at. The representative who handed me the keys also said please return the truck at 1/4 of a tank as that's where the current level is but when I got it, it was below 1/4. Regardless, I returned it above 1/4. Staff could be more friendly at this location.

Severe lack of customer parking and a nonchalant attitude about it. I was told I could park on the street although there was no street parking within blocks of the location. Someone was using a customer parking spot to make a long phone call and was not asked to leave despite not even being a customer.

The only thing that I was not happy with was that when I reserved the truck I also reserved a utility dolly but was told that they didn't have any and even after making reservations it was not guaranteed that they would be available at pick up time. This was upsetting because I needed it for the move and then I had to go out of my way to go to another Uhaul location to pick up the dolly I needed and was charged a fee to drop it off at the Rosemead location. You should look into fixing this problem thanks

I picked up my U haul truck with 1/4 tank of gas in it and I had to look for gas station in order to make it to my destination and estimated how much gas required for the total trip. It will be extremely helpful to have a full tank of gas for the customer when he/she picks up the truck and returns with the gas topped off. Other than that, I was happy with the customer service, maintenance, and cleanliness of the truck. Also, It opened on Labor Day so I was able to return the truck. The 15 foot truck I rented had 97K miles on it but it still ran good without any problem on the day with a record heat wave in LA County.

I've been renting from this location for more than 5 years. I always park my car there at the customer parking. This time I was told by a new employee that I have to move my car into the street which has only 2 hour parking. There were other customers who had their cars parked there.

They gave the U-Haul that I had reserved away to someone else. This caused a chain of events that was extremely stressful and led to me now having a moving truck on my move out date. This will have financial implications for me that are extremely upsetting.

The woman who helped me was kind and helpful. She manages the Uhaul storage as well. She was inundated with customers. I was impressed with her ability to be professional and calm during these trying times. She is ultimately the reason I would recommend Uhaul. Thank you

I made a reservation at least 10 days in advance, for a 17' truck rental. I made sure I followed all the steps, including check-in. I selected a different u haul location, only to be called by u haul telling me this Rosemead location was the only one guaranteed to have the truck. I didn't mind fine. I went to pick up the truck, only to see that they did not reserve one for me and that all other 17' trucks were not within 25 mile radius of me. Carlos, I think the manager, was kind enough to work with me, this is the only reason I give it a 'Below Average' instead of a 'Poor'. He offered me a 10' truck and a quoted discounted of $40 off total. He even offered me 2 10' trucks but I didn't want to pay extra and didnt have enough helpers or extra parking space to be able to move so I took one. But I ended having to make multiple trips since I wasn't able to fit everything in the 10' truck so I added more miles than I expected. When I returned the truck, the bill was $77.67. I had to remind the guy I was getting the $40 discount, so they re-billed me, but the mileage rate was $1.19 per mile. When I originally made reservation days before, it was at $0.89 per mile. When I tried to speak about it, I was challenged with showing proof, to which the only evidence I have is gone since my original reservation and quoted rates was deleted from my u haul account for the new reservation so I don't have access to the record of it. The business is shady to me and will never use U Haul services again!

Unfairly charged additional $20.....U-haul needs to explain in detail regarding the after hours self return option. I had to use my smart phone's location finder to make sure I was at the correct drop-off location. I was already 30 miles away when I was doing the self check out on my phone. Plus taking pictures is impossible when you're 30 miles away. My experience was very upsetting. I knew 100% of the correct drop-off location. I lived in that area for 45 years. The next morning, I was charged an extra $20 unfairly because a u-haul employee had to check in the van for me.

My truck stank like cigarettes and the drivers door would barely close. Worst part of my experience was finding out that a 20' truck is actually only 14'. I had 2 8' items and had to make 2 trips which doubled my rental expense and added hours to a long day.
