The whole drop-off experience was a hassle. It’s fine that franchises and locations come and go, but I returned it to the location on the day they stopped being a location, so I had to put in extra effort to drop it off several more miles up the road. Then, I get calls from the location AND customer service. I’m not sure how uhaul is still in business. The individual people were friendly but the processes were not flexible and it took too many phone calls to get things straightened out.

The people at the U-haul were actively rude, and lied to me multiple times during the check-in. When I returned the vehicle the woman was again deliberately rude, and sat playing on her phone for a while before getting up to check in the vehicle. She then lied and said she would send me the receipt, which she didnt bother to do. In the course of maybe 6 minutes of interaction the two employees managed to lie twice, blatantly. Who knows how many other falsehoods they promulgated that I wasn't aware of.

While the concept is great, the whole flow invoked by the u-haul app sucks ass. There is no real allowance for hitting back. Also, all the pictures and such: they need to stop. Look, Car2go and ReachNow only require one to check for damage and also only needs your phone. No keys, no checking fuel before and after and no 3rd party checking to see if you're a Estonian Car Thief. This is the first time I went through from start to finish. But I've gone through the flow a couple times and have to say that it is very confusing. Focus on simplification of the checkout/checkin and use the technology to assist it. Why ask for fuel if you have OnStar? It knows how much fuel you have. It can even lock/unlock the vehicle remotely. Use the technology - don't make people take pictures - thats why they're at a center or someplace where they can be maintained - which they should be regardless. Also why have us enter mileage in and out? You should already know. Otherwise, good concept. Work on purchase flow and you may have a success.

I got a call back from my store where I picked up the 10’ box truck lady couldn’t find my account and told me I have to return the truck, I would never rent from U-Haul again I’ll just go to enterprise instead

Well to start with o was promised a vechile, which come to find out two days before my move I get a call that they do not stock and I need to go to a different location to pick up. Then to put the cherry on top, I go down size from my original 20' to trying to get the 17' they say something that it is do able but for insurance I reserved the 15'. So I get there and sure enough I end up with a 15' glad I at least reserved it right'!? Other then that my moving van was clean and worked no mechanical issues.

Get better employees at this location. They’re unwelcoming and seemed to have an attitude. Also, they charged me a $10 fuel charge even though I literally filled the tank until the gas pump wouldn’t let me pump anymore. Not that you can do much about the location size but it is pretty small. Not a lot of space at all especially for a ONE WAY truck location.

Not only does this location not offer customer parking and advise you to park a block and a half away . I had a terrible experience with check in and out. With two different employees . The second employee Jessie of which I had to call customer service while on site to get help and close out my rental return. She was absolutely rude , not even uniformed and based on her conversation and customer service skills (well lack there of) I at first didn’t even know she worked there as she stood near my truck before getting snappy with me and Ease dropping on my conversation with my sister (inside me truck) and making unnecessary remarks . Then immediately after rushing me for her to check my truck In after I stated I needed to go get my car first from a public transportation parking lot( which i was told to park at because this location offers no customer parking, terrible) because I had things in the truck I could not carry that I needed to put in my car. Jessie has very much sass and aggression ( it was not yet even my official return time I was about an hour early ) and when I said this she replied well whatever , I’m not going to check you in you can do the return yourself. This was the most unsatisfied experience I’ve had . Very disappointed

The only challenge with this location is lack of parking. On weekends there's usually plenty of parking a one-block walk away, but during the week that fills up first thing in the morning and you're stuck.

no on site parking and nothing was mentioned until you arrive. was told to park at a 7-11 store next door at my own risk. or park at a public parking lot two blocks away and walk all the way back to pickup the uhaul rental. even as i propose to part at a corner spot on site and will be back in couple hours and the people there showed no intension to help a customer. disappointed and really ruin Uhaul's brand image.

John got me setup & ready to go. Prepped well, good reliable truck for roughly 2000 miles of driving, no issues. Thanks! One improvement from U-haul provide Cruise control in all their trucks, hard on the right leg missing this on long hauls.

The worst service and experience we have ever encountered anywhere!! The lady was extremely rude, she didn't listened to anything we tried to explain. All she wanted to do was yelling at us and charges us more money ($2 because we didn't fold the blankets back for her, charge us for another day rent of our trailer because she claimed that we dropped of late when we tried to tell her that we have it for 2 days but she didn't listen until one of her coworker had to stepped in and save us). I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. As the matter of fact, I will NEVER RECOMMEND U-Haul to anyone unless they have to use moving equipment. Our service was extremely poor from the start.

Wouldn't take our trailer. It was a really sketchy set up. The guy got on the phone with their boss and he told us they refused to check in our trailer and if we left it there they would lie and say they never got it. I spent an hour on hold to speak to a uhaul representative and when they asked me what location I took it too I made a fatal mistake of reading the numerical part of the address wrong as I was reading it off of a cell phone while also being on the phone and flustered. From there on out it was MY fault because I took it to the wrong location. I tried repeatedly to explain that I just misread the address and that I DEFINITELY took it to the right location. The woman reluctantly opened a case for me. Two days later I got a short e-mail telling me that they refused my trailer because I took it to the wrong location. I responded by sending a screen shot of the text message I got, showing the address I took it to, and requested that someone PLEASE reach out to me that i DID NOT take it to the wrong location. Haven't heard a word back. SO Disappointed at the customer service. And very disappointed that they let this shady operation stay in business in Des Moines.

Obtain better reservation desk people....not the brightest bulbs in the pack... reserved a 4 x 7 open trailer. Uhaul called back to say the location did not have the open, even though it took my cc. Had to call your reservation desk because they booked me at a north location which is way out-of-the-way. I had to ask about a 4x8 (vs the smaller 4x7) as your people are not well trained to think outside the box...So they found the 4x8 trailer at the location that I was originally at but the idiot booked the enclosed 4x8 trailer which doesn’t even come close to meeting my needs. The owner at the location I rented from was very helpful and got me into the correct unit! What a waste of time by your reservations personnel!

Make sure the price quoted online is the correct price. The actual price turned out to be almost double. The guy at this center said that is a common problem. It’s price gouging! We most likely won’t use U-Haul again because of the bad taste this left with us.

Agent appeared to be a trainee. Took a lot of time to check in. Several trips to the truck as she did not seem to know how to check in a one-way. Also could not process a credit om shrink wrap purchased in OR with no sales tax. Took almost 45 mins to complete transaction.

The hand-truck is placed in a spot that is needed for freight (side rail). I didn't need to use the hand-truck, but had to move it to access the space and that meant paying for its usage.

Your customer service center is appalling. I called for extending the rental, which I was quoted nearly $3,000 for severAl additional days. But was told I would have unload the large truck and reload into another truck because they were renting THAT truck to someone else. Why can't they rent the new truck and accommodate my pricey request? Who's the idiot hete?

I think your refueling charge is a bit excessive. I know I should have topped off but only a couple gallons was not worth the hassle or danger that exists in that neighborhood. I don’t mind a plumped-up per gallon fuel charge but to add $30 over and above the fuel is excessive. I was given the option to go out and get fuel but I passed. See reasons above. Time was a constraint. The attendant told me it would save $xxxx , but I was under the impression that it was all inclusive based on fuel rate. I didn’t realize I was getting Double dipped. Anyway the location is great and crew is great. Just the refuel policy. Maybe better explained or emphasized in advance by crew would help. My time and safety and the inconvenience to my chase car came into play, it was my pass but still I Thing tabbing $30 over and above for just a couple gallons is excessive. Happy otherwise. Thankyou

Fortunately John salvaged my experience. I had been moved around locations with sea-tac being the third location. and the only reason I knew was because I had called at 7am to know where I could receive the rental the day of the rental. They didn't know if I could parka at the location. John ended up letting me park at the location. Up to that point the experience renting with Uhaul had been horrible. I spent way too much time and energy figuring out getting the rental.

No parking for customers at this site, so one-day rentals are difficult. Your online reservation system didn't work well at all, but the people on-site handled things just fine when I got there and were friendly at check out and at return time. The truck itself was OK for our light load of stuff, but certainly not over-powering in the engine department.
