Customer service has to be trained. The guy working at the front counter was not friendly at all, and ignored me when I was next to be helped. The younger associate wasn't super friendly when I pulled up ( I had the app which told me to go directly to the trailer), he wanted me to move. I did, and he also wasn't super friendly when I came inside. The other associate was great however, and stepped in to assist.Kris E.
I reserved a 15 foot truck for a move. I reserved it for 4/24/ 21 to 04/26/2021. My drivers license expired on 03/08/2021 which never even occurred to me because I've tried to make an appointment to renew my drivers license and there is no DMV in my area with AVAILABLE APPOINTMENTS anytime soon!!! In Oregon there is currently a 3 month grace period on DL renewal but the asshole at the counter didn't care. I cannot renew my drivers license because of a backlog at Oregon DMV but I still cannot rent a truck to move. I had to wake my elderly father out of bed to come and show a current DL so I could get the damn truck and move!!! For clarity, if I were to be pulled over in a U-haul truck by law enforcement, I would not get a ticket because my DL expiration was within the 3 month DL waiver period. I had to wait 2 hours for my father to get there so the jackass at the counter would rent me a truck. You might want to update your policies due to The damn COVID restrictions and inability of customers to renew their damn DL's. Completely unsatisfied and will do everything possible to use other services in the future as well as never recommend your company to anyone I know. Horrible service!!!!John L.

What I would not recommend is the location in Monmouth, OR where I was originally scheduled to pick up my unit using the automated pick up system. Upon arrival the automated pick system didn't work and my promised unit was unavailable. Upon calling Uhaul I was told my unit had not been checked in correctly and therefore i was left high and dry. Fortunately I was able to rent from the Salem locationMICHAEL M.

There were three people in the office but only one was taking care of customers. One was sitting at a computer doing something, another was wandering around outside, and there was only one person serving the customers even though there were six people in the line beside me.ROGER E W.

The sales rep showed me the truck that I reserved online. He opened the door to add the moving pads, tossed them in the back and immediately closed the cargo door. He then handed me the keys and said you are good to go. When I got the truck gone and opened the door the back wreaked of marijuana. I don't frown upon the industry but I also don't want all of my belongings to smell like a grow. I did not have time to return and exchange the truck so I sprayed 2 cans of Febreeze to curb the stench which held it back for a few hours but then returned. I need not say more !FRANCIS G.

Make sure the equipment availability is correct. I was lead to believe that I could reserve a trailer for a round trip to Texas but when I called to verify the reservation I was told that no equipment could leave the state even for a round trip for the 2 weeks I needed.DIANA MARIE S.

I was not given the option at all during my booking, or during the process of receiving my keys, to do a one way trip. They forced me to drive my UHAUL all the way back to Salem from Portland when I wanted to just drive it to Portland and leave it there. So I ended up spending 115 $just on mileage, when I should've only spent half of that. But besides that, the truck was clean and ran well.ALEXANDRA PARIS K.

One of the employees grabbed my husbands arm. He then lied and said he rented us the trailer. When I went into the shop to turn in the paper work I was told to get out. I asked if he needed the paperwork I was told to get out or he would call the police. None of this had to happen. Generally, using the app was a positive experience. This location was better than most, except there was no parking onsite. What little parking exists is on-street parking that requires crossing a busy street without a crosswalk. This was my first time using the Uhaul app for a rental, and I was surprised to be asked for a passport or the lease on my home in order to proceed. Since there was no indication these items might be needed beforehand, I only found out once I was there at the Uhaul location. Unfortunately, the only other option left for confirming my identity was having a Uhaul rep phone someone who knew me. It was awkward, and I've apologized to them for the intrusion. So, my suggestion for Uhaul is to let first time users know when they are booking the rental that they may need to provide additional I.D. and what items would be acceptable (passport, lease agreement, etc.)Kristi R.

On line after hours check in was not very user friendly.ROBERT NEAL P.
I called this location the following day to see if we would be prorated for an early drop off and they stated that we had agreed to turn it in on a specific day....after we told the first location that we only needed it for one day and would be able to drop it off the next day. This customer service rep was unwilling to help or find a way to resolve this overpriced service agreement. The truck was emptied and ready to be returned the next day yet we were going to be charged for an additional day. So it sat in my driveway for an extra day for no reason other than I was being charged for that day. I wish you would train your sales reps to work with your customers and understand that a 54 mile trip should not have cost us almost 250 $. When returning the truck the sales rep informed my husband that he needed to drop it off in a different location when clearly it does not state that outside. The map directed us to drive directly to the spot we ended up at and in able to return it to the other spot we'd have to go around the neighborhood because we were on a one way street and the supposed dropped off was one door over. This experience makes me glad I don't have to use rental services for hauling items. I am highly dissatisfied and believe we were misinformed of the services and over charged for no reason.lisa B.
