I had a bad experience at this location about thirty years ago when a new manager cancelled a reservation without notifying me because the reservation had been made nine month previously. His excuse was it was that the reservation was "too old". U-Haul also has had a reputation for equipment (trucks) that were not mechanically "well maintained". I am happy to write that was not the case with the equipment I received. Congratulation for what seems to be a concerted effort to reverse the bad reputation.

U-Haul staff should contact the customer if there is no van available at the East Branch Rentals Corp. 996 Metropolitan Ave. Williamsburg, NY. No one contact me at all. when I got to the U-Haul office, They told me I have to pick up the Van at 1050 Bay St. Staten Island, NY Which is not right. I have to pay for $22.50 to pick up the Van

Windows and car was dirty, I have to wipe the interiors with my own alcohol wipes. Then I have for asked for assistance to help me to clean the rear view mirrors. For a $19.00 rental and 57 miles I believe is overprice. I just went back and for from Queens and should not be more that 35 miles. I question how they keep track of the millage. I am not sure if is accurate.

For starters. When I reserve a 20 foot truck I expect a 20 foot truck not a 15 foot. Had to make extra trips and more miles. Very inconvenient. And took almost twice the time to get everything I had to accomplish done. And on top of it I get charged an extra day for bringing the truck back a few hours late. Very un professional. I've been dealing with uhaul for all my rental needs for years. But if this isn't rectified I will not be a repeat customer anymore. And also the manager of the 1050 Bay Street location is very arrogant and rood. Apparently it's not his problem that I didn't get the equipment I reserved and have a confirmation email to prove what was reserved and “guaranteed”. I am very disappointed

The truck had starting issues that created a lot of delays. Held me back from my arrival time for hours. Called Uhaul assistance that was not so helpful assistance was taking hours. Finally i had to open the hood and start it myself. I am not a uhaul employee. After paying so much, and not even refunded at least quarter to half of my money for my troubles. Unacceptable.

Inside of the windshield was dirty. Driving a big truck around NYC is nerve racking, a clean windshield (especially at night and in the rain) would have made visibility that much better). Ended up cleaning it myself. The GM Andrew Deluca-Rios was great to work with - very professional and accommodating. I'd recommend this UHaul location to anyone who asks.

The seatbelts were not well maintained and the cab smelled of smoke. I drove extra careful during my move. Also, I just received a call from an insurance company today stating that U-Haul said I damaged a canopy. I deny this and will be contacting a lawyer. When I rented the truck it was not under a canopy and the truck was driven straight out onto the road. Upon returning the truck, it was driven straight into the parking lot and not driven under or through a canopy. I cannot speak to what happened to the truck after it was delivered to the U-Haul representative. I can be reached at 415-920-3626 if you have questions.

Trucks are usually filthy inside, last one stunk like it was used to haul gardening soil or worse. Selection of boxes and packing supplies is excellent, no problems renting trucks.

I got stuck with the rental truck 3 times, once on a bridge. Service sticker said it was overdue 4,000 miles. If you rent trucks then take care of them , but its always about taking money and not putting any in. Greed!!!!

The Staten Island location really helped me out when the original Park Slope Brooklyn location did not have the one-way rental available that I had reserved. I first was changed from a 9:00 AM rental to a 2:00 PM rental which was unacceptable for my needs. I had to make another reservation in New Jersey to get back to a morning pick-up but then received a call from the Staten Island location saying they had obtained a truck for my original 9:00 AM pick-up. I very much appreciate them doing that! It saved the whole timing of moving my son from Brooklyn.

The Uhaul website should indicate whether or not the truck has a ramp. When the reservation was placed for a 10' truck, I assumed it had a ramp. When I arrived to pick it up the truck, it did not have a ramp. The office staff politely pointed out that only 15' trucks and bigger had ramps. Overall, the rental experience was outstanding.

There were zero furniture dollys or magliner hand trucks available for rent. I feel there should be at least 1 of each available for each vehicle. Also had trouble extending the rental over the phone, I was on long hold and then transferred to another 888 number that disconnected after 1 ring.

Location didn't have everything that I had reserved. They refunded me money for not providing everything, but didn't update the contract. When I tried to drop off the truck at my destination, they had to figure out how to adjust the contract to account for the missing equipment.

After NUMEROUS issues with U-HAUL This location is the only U-HAUL that was able and willing to help me Andrew Deluca—Rios she be commended and given a raise Any prior communications with U-Haul representatives was disastrous and the employees were incompetent Resulting in 3 cancelled reservations an hour travel each way $40 in tolls each trip. And if it wasn't for Andrew my vacation would has fallen through The incompetency of the employees from the location in my area was mind blowing and frustrating
