The worst thing is that we reserved for Novato, CA but had to get the truck in Yuba City. That imposed an unacceptable cost in money and time on us. I would have switched to a different rental agency if time had permitted. The truck was dirty! The cab contained a soiled panty liner and used dental floss among other litter. I looked up the cost a few weeks before I made the reservation and the price went up 30 or 40 % between the time I looked it up and the time I made the reservation. I can't say that's UHaul's fault but it is discouraging. Besides those shortcomings, the staff at the counter did the best they couldRobert F.

I was signed up to check in online but had issues and needed to check in inside instead. The employee who helped me was very thorough and helpful. We tried to log in to drop truck after hours but when you clicked for site to find it was able to. So since we had a two drive still ahead of we just dropped keys We were pleased to see email receipt the next dayDAVID V.
The online check in seemed helpful but did not really save me any more time since I had to redundancy go through the same process once I was physically at the store. The employee was helpful but I had to provide him with a secondary contact person and their number, which he proceeded to call them in the store. I have rented from many different companies and never had to participate in that process before. Overall the checkout was quick and easy and the employee was polite.Eric B.
Have an employee dedicated to answering phones & let the ones at the counter assist walk ins!! It'll improve customer service & efficiency as well make for a more positive experience during difficult times, specially when one has to move!!Christian B.

Had to drive 40 miles to pick up truck. Not good. Local rentals for 1way out of state were not available but there were 6 trucks in sight. Local rentals also were 500 $more than where we finally got the truck.Warren M.

I was upset that a 20 $check in fee was applied to my charges? It would've been nice for someone to have shared this with me prior to departure, I could have easily returned anytime in order to avoid this fee. Overall, service was excellent daChristian B.

Inside of truck needed more cleaning. Pet hair all over inside of truck. Windshield was filthy and wiper blades in poor condition. Also the self check-in uhaul app malfunctioned multiple times and had to have the agent come out to complete the process.Jim D.

The windshield was filthy when we picked up the truck. This is the first opportunity to report this to anyone as the app assumed there were no problems to report. We returned the truck having taken it to a carwash to wash the debris out of the back. There were no drain holes in the floor and with the floor sloped to the front there wasn't a way to make sure it was cleaned as well as we would have liked. We returned the truck after hours and there was no one there to report the condition of the windshield to. I reported the truck as needing cleaning upon returning the truck. I was charged 25 $for cleaning. I was not offered any compensation for returning it with much more gas than I picked it up with, eventhough it is documented before and after use. Lastly, the app would not let me take the requested pictures within the app. I kept having to switch out of the app to take each pickture and switch back. The problem this created was extremely frustrating as I had to start over each time it asked for a new set of pictures. Then at one point it began complaing that the pictures were too old. That problem alone made a simple process take over an hour. Had we been aware of the time consuming issue with the app and inability to use a standard carwash to clean the back, we would have planned for these and not had to extend our use for a second day. It cost us nearly and extra 100 $for problems we either did not create or were not informed that a standard carwash would not work for our truck. We made no provision to bring a broom as a result. Also, the frustration with the app was such a distraction that I ended up leaving my wallet inside the truck and had to pick it up the next day.Michael W.
Need to be more clear on how to turn in a vehicle for people who don't come there everyday. I thought I had to go into the store to turn in the Keys and even though there were people out there from U-Haul they didn't let anybody know that it was just strictly a drive-through check in.Russell S.

truck blew out a tire and we ended up having to get two tires changes, we were late to a hotel that we could not get refunded for, so had to pay for 3 more hotel rooms, and uhaul doesnt want to reimburse us for this.Curtis W.

I gave this a low score because when I went to return the truck the same day I was two minutes after 7pm which was closing time. They still had some customers in the store but one of the girls was rude and said sorry we are closed please use the night drop. So no problem but when I could not do it on my phone .I saw the same girl puting away things and I asked for help she straight up ignored me . My friend and I were asking her to help several times . Finally when I got upset with her she said you dont have to be a fucking asshole. I then said I have hey you have seen us having problems and its 8 pm and you could have helped us. She then said Fine Im over this shit. And asked for the info and got it checked back in then said have a nice day asshole. Both my friend and I were shocked. She slamed her car door and drove off. The fuel gage was malfunctioning and we ended up putting A LOT more fuel in the rental equipment than we left with. I had to go inside and get the attention of a staff person to return the equipment timely. The person was blasÃ© about the issues with the fuel gage. Very frustrating.Steven G.

never used Uhaul before. The front desk and the yard person made it easy. Moved a motorcycle, Uhaul's trailer was a bargain compared to setting up my own trailer, checking wheel bearings, etc. for a 450-mile round trip. The trailer pulled easy and straight, the tie-down was solid with all the optional tie-down points.John B.
The passenger side mirror fell off And the smell of disinfectant never went away. Also the floor of the uhaul had way to much cleanser that never dried and made it really slick to walk on. It was like oil. Really dangerousBrian W.
