I really like this rental facility and storage. Staff very helpful. Loved the promotion of first month free with truck rental. In the future I would design the access ramp to be able to back in the load from the u-haul truck easier rather than the ramp that switches back. At both the beginning and end location, uhaul â€œlostâ€ my ubox.I had to go back to the drop off location the day after I packed the ubox to confirm which was mine. When picking it up at the destination, it took over an hour for them to locate it. Really made my first ever out of state move very stressful since I had no confidence that my belongings would arrive and I won't use uhaul shipping services again in the future.COLE S.

The door on the trailer was very difficult to close.David S.
I dropped my rental off after hours and followed the instructions to check in via uhaul.com/share. My browser and site settings allowed location sharing, however the site was unable to process my location. I spent 30 minutes resetting my phone, searching forums for answers, and waiting on hold 20 minutes before finally giving up. The fact that there is a fee for having an employee check the rental in next day while the site's location verification is crashed makes it impossible to DIY and extorts customers into paying fees when they're just trying to drop their rental off. I can honestly say I would never recommend using Uhaul during any busy weekend as the infrastructure is built to fail the customer in both their time and expenses.CHLOE H.

the customer service I received was limited at best and when I got my truck the gas wasn't at the level I was told and the gas cap was HANGING OFF THE TRUCK. I and my wife attempted to contact the location and then after that didn't happen(during business hours) we had to wait on hold to talk to someone for at least 20 minutes. Also, why aren't the backs of your trucks flat? as a moving truck business I think you could have the sway to make sure that the trucks in your fleet don't have obstacles in the way of placing regular, every day, household items into them, what's with the weird wedge and wheel well. rises? I was charged a late fee that was refunded for starters. I was not notified that I had to return the van to the same location. When I did return it on time the guy was rude and stated the money would be returned when he gets to it the next day. Very unprofessional. I believe I was over charged the final bill. We had to get into our boxes at the storage facility, we called and arranged them all to be out at our arrival. We got there and the fork lift driver said we had not specified all the boxes, and chewed us out for not, even though we had. I am extremely disappointed with this location and U-Haul it self for many reasons. I went with U-Haul for my most recent move and spent quite a bit of money on this company. To start with the employees at this location were rude u helpful and just plain lazy. They didn't accommodate for me at all. Spoke to me and my bf in a rude manner. Wasn't the least bit helpful with my questions that I had instead told me I will find an estimate the day I pick u up truck. Average because I was given a u-haul van with a cut gas line, forcing me to come back, change all my plans. Was told that the vans continually have cut gas lines but the facility is apparently too cheap to put some extra security/walls around it despite the loss in vans and a poor customer experience. Fuel level was marked 5/8' on my contract but when I went out to truck to look over things, the gas needle was actually touching the 1/2 tank mark. I came back and told rental agent and he said I had to go to website to note discrepancy, which I did. While on that site I was instructed to take a photo of gauge, which I did. You have that picture. When I turned in this 15 foot truck, the gas needle had actual space s (vs. touching) between the gas needle and the 1/2 tank mark. Agent said he couldn't process my contract completion because your entire UHaul system was down across the country. I'd made a point to fill tank to slightly more than what it had been when I picked it up. (I have picture of the gauge) I was told I'd get email of final contract when system was back up. When I got that closing statement- I had been charged for gas. This is a rip off! That charge must be reversed. Do you do this to everyone? I tried to call to get this corrected but the wait time was â€œmore than twenty minutesâ€, (which I didn't have) Please look at photo I sent originally. Not sure if I can send photo of end of rental tank level, I using this survey. I'll try, but if ir can't be done, let m know how to send it to you. I won't drop this until the unfair gas charge and tax are credited back to me.Paul D.

I haven't talked to Anita (Columbia location manager) yet, but I remember her from Powell location. She is a top notch employee which makes this review unfortunate .However, her new male employee (heavy set with glasses) was slightly rude, a bit abrasive and his way of expressing "the way it is" was offensive. It was as if my business was in question or not wanted. I was told over the phone (great customer service btw) first month free if I rent a 1-way Uhaul and in tandem with my storage rental. When I showed up in advance see the unit and do paperwork at Columbia I was told I do not get the first month free since I didn't show up with the moving truck (scheduled with a cc for later that day) first. That seems to be a trust issue with bad customers. I have a history of positive business already in the Uhaul system so to not receive the offer I was told, even those apparently it will be the second month IF I show up with a rented truck for drop off. Then, when I picked up my Uhaul as scheduled later and told the Clackamas location manager he said the guy not honoring the deal (at Columbia) without the moving truck in my possession was ridiculous. However, he then told me that the truck I was renting couldn't be a 1-way because Clackamas owns the truck. I was never told by phone reservation or Columbia about any possibility that I would incur more miles to return back to Clackamas because they own that particular moving van. In short, my plans to move got set back 4-6 rearranging my move because of the above situations there were more potential out of pocket to rent both the storage space and Uhaul. Frankly, I would have cancelled if it wasn't for needing to move quickly and my cc already used for reservations with Uhaul. Not a memorable experience at all.Rod B. | Premières impressions

The first time I saw the facility I asked the guy working about it, and he was very helpful and knowledgeable. Because of his kindness I went back to rent a unit. The woman working the desk when I went back was very dismissive and condescending. It was obvious it was frustrating for her to have to answer any of my questions or to give me any additional information except a "yes" or "no." (The man working with her was from another facility and not familiar with this one, although he was the one helping me). We finished the paperwork, and he told me where I was supposed to go. I asked about the free lock I was supposed to get for registering online, and the woman flippantly said, "It's in the unit," as if "Duh, how did we not know that?" I wasn't familiar with the building or how to get in, but they gave me a card and sent me on my way. I drove over and tried one door. The door opened without the key, so once inside I tried to find my way around. I was lost and confused. I walked back to the main office. The guy told me, no, it was another entrance. The woman said rudely to him, "Give her a map," as if he were stupid. I asked him to please walk out and SHOW me the correct entrance. He kindly did. I then walked back to my car and drove to another entrance. The door opened without the key, but I was still lost. Somehow I found my way to my unit upstairs, but the door wouldn't open. At this point I was ready to cancel the whole thing and just ask for my money back. I was almost in tears. Why couldn't they have just walked me over and shown me around this facility? I went back downstairs, and there was another woman unloading her car. I asked her if she was familiar with how this worked, and she took me back and helped me get in the door to my unit (the door was "locked" with a plastic tie that ideally needed scissors to cut off; the other customer tried using her key to "cut" the tie. After 5 minutes, she was able to get it off. We opened the door, and there was no lock inside. I walked BACK to the main facility, and the man gave me a lock. Then I went back to the unit to unload boxes from my car. The entire experience was upsetting and frustrating. The U-Haul workers both needed to learn customer service skills. The unit is fine, and I am happy with that, but that rudeness affected me for the rest of the day.Terri B. | Online Move In

The ramp coming out of the storage facility closest to Columbia Blvd. is quite steep and a couple times we even lost control of the furniture cart and had it go down the ramp by itself and some items fell off. Also, the parking/loading area near the storage facility is too tight: the spaces are small and there's not much room to load and often the spots are full of cars from other uhaul customers who are not loading/unloading to the storage units.Jessica R. | Expérience générale

THE FRUSTRATING: 1) Access code was clear & rcvd quickly, however it was nearly impossible to locate my unit with available signage. No unit maps posted in storage area. Had to visit office for help. They gave me a paper map--so not at all contact free. 2) We moved a completely full 15' truck--furniture, boxes. The access to my unit was up a winding ramp and through 2 regular size doors which were difficult at best to prop open. The location has many dock doors, all locked and unavailable for customer use (I was told by office). Told it was a "liability issue". Moving up that ramp was a bigger liability issue IMO. Took 2 hours to load truck for long distance move and 4 hrs to unload to storage. The people are friendly and courteous. My only complaint is that the person I originally spoke with and made agreements with, over the phone, failed to note the arrangements/agreements so that when I arrived to pick up van the person at desk had no idea and though I was 'in the system' the details of time/days and mileage were not. Thankfully the clerk was unruffled when I pointed out the difference between her contract and the agreement/arrangement made previous day over phone with the manager. She called manager and got everything straightened out.
