I ordered a 17' truck and it was guaranteed until 2 days before pickup. I was notified at that time that the previous renter had extended and my truck would not be available. I told them I would take a 15' instead, but asked if I could be compensated with free miles for taking the smaller truck. They said they do not have authority to provide free mileage. The location did make up for it in other ways, but it seems like some free mileage is a reasonable request, and the customer service reps should have authority to provide that.

When we came in the system was down, but that is not the fault of the team... What could be improved is how it was handled. The people inside were flustered and the customers wern't nice either, it was just a bad vibe all around, but the manager could have been more present and showed empathy to the customers and supported the guy at the desk better.

Having a clean trailer would be nice. There was about an inch of dirt and rocks in the one I rented. Customer service is horrible at this location as well. The girl with the black and purple hair, didn't greet me when I drove up to drop off the trailer. Once she unhooked the trailer, all she said to me was I was good to go. First of all, I couldn't leave because there were Uhaul trucks blocking any exit. She also did not let me know that my receipt was going to be emailed. I will completely avoid renting from this location in the future!!!! Not worth the money or disrespect!

My reservation that was made over a week in advance was changed on me last minute to a pick up time 6 hours later than my original reservation. I soent 40 minutes on the phone 3 hours before I was scheduled to pick up the truck with no more than 4 of those minutes spent actually speaking to someone. I got the truck thankfully and didn't have to cancel my entire move, but I had to go to a location further away. I was told I'd be comped for the mileage and wasn't. I still paid for tbe extra distance even though it was uhaul's fault. I also noticed at the time of the uhaul pickup the worker took a photo of my license for uhaul which is fine but she used her personal cell phone. I found that wildly inappropriate for reasons I'm sure I don't need to elaborate on. This experience may very well be limited to the Reno area because quite honestly this type of poor customer service and an inability to perform on a professional level is fairly commonplace. Whether it's a chain restuarant or a uhaul company it's always a disappointment. I was pretty shocked though to have this all happen with an international company. Did the people who regulate this type of stuff just forget that they have locations in Reno? Because someone needs to help them get it together. 3 locations in Reno yet the customer has to jump through hoops to make sure they have their moving truck that was booked 9 days in advance... and then they pay extra for it. Something definitely isn't right here. Next time I'll call someone else.

I was supposed to rent from a different location but they didn’t have my truck for my reservation, despite the fact that there were several trucks on the lot. Apparently those were for other customers so I had to drive to another store to get my truck. The people who were supposed to drop my truck off that morning called to say they needed it until noon. If uhaul would have called me then to say your reservation is late, I would have been fine with that, but no notification was given. The store where I picked up the truck was extremely slow, took me 40 minutes to get my truck, despite being told it would be expedited by the general manager at my first location. Then the truck was in bad shape, the seats were falling apart, the heater would not turn off, and the cargo door would barely go up and down. The truck should be retired. I will go out of my way next time to avoid using Uhaul.

After returning the trailer, a week later I was notified that there wasn't any record of the trailer being returned. I went down to where I returned it and the same trailer was there. Your employees forgot to check it back in. Cost me an afternoon of my time because of laziness on your part

The employees that work there are useless. No customer service what so ever. No one really wants to work at this location. The equipment barely worked. The engine kept cutting out. I will never use UHAUL again. I feel like I was over charged on everything. I filled the tank on return and yet I was charged for fuel.

Made 1pm pickup time via internet. Showed up at 1pm no trailer. Worker said "maybe one or two hours from now". Possible no show. Needed a two inch ball on hitch. Waited and trailer finally arrived. A simple phone call saying "good afternoon, I want you to know that your trailer is running late and we will call you as soon as it arrives to get you on your way. In the meantime, be sure you have a 2" ball and four pin connector. Thank you.". Would have saved much aggrevagtion.

I completed a reservation online the night before and I should up the next day for my 10:30 reservation. We waited in line, spoke with the person at the counter, and wait on our truck and by the time we headed home we had used an hour of the 10 hour reservation we needed. The online reservation is a joke. What’s the point if we’re going to be asked all the same questions at the counter? It defeats the purpose.

I resent being charged for mileage for usage in town but I guess that's the way it goes. If I can, I'll use someone else next time. I want to put in a complaint about the first U-Haul location I put my reservation at. I reserved the same thing at the U-Haul on Oddie. I wanted to upgrade the truck but I couldn't get them on the phone for 2 days. This is really unacceptable. That place has terrible management.

It was very frustrating that I reserved a larger vehicle months in advance and then it wasn’t available. I do appreciate the email advanced notice and I understand you can’t control when people return vehicles. We couldn’t fit everything into a smaller truck and had to store and stuff things wherever we could. There wasn’t even a discount for our inconvenience!

The truck reeked of cigarette smoke. I left the windows open the first two nights and sprayed with air freshener 15-20 times when I got it and on the trip and it was still awful. My sinus' were rebelling and I was nauseated the whole trip. Smoking in your trucks should be banned.

The issue was the online service told us the location we wanted didn't have the trailer we wanted. It sent me a text to the new pick up location. When we went to get it they said it wasn't them. after 45 minutes of being on hold, calling the other location then calling the online number we found out it was at the original location we requested. The other issues was the person on the phone a the Silverado location was rude and NOT helpful in figuring out where the trailer was. He not only was short and not helpful but kept putting me on hold. The last time after 5 minutes of being on hold I hung up and tried the S. Virginia locations. After listening to the hold message for almost 10 minutes I finally called the on line number and they told me it was at S. Virginia but didn't couldn't explain why the told me it was at Silverado. The online person finally helped us get things figured out. The other issue I have is the length of time it takes to check out the rental and check it in. Either streamline your process or hire more people.

The location i picked up the truck from: S Virginia was great and very helpful. This was not the location I was supposed to pick up my Uhaul. I was originally set up to pick up the largest U-haul trailer from Oddie Blvd. I arrived at 7am to find out that my trailer had been stolen off the site and they were unable to help me. I asked them if they could switch me over to a truck instead and maybe give me a discount for the inconvenience and there response was "why would we do that." To say the least I was extremely dissatisfied with Oddie Blvd Uhaul and would give them the lowest ratings possible across all elements of customer service. All staff was extremely rude and unhelpful. Even as they were calling other Uhaul locations to see if I could get a trailer from these other locations and i asked to rent a large truck instead I was told it would be "impossible" for me to rent a 26foot Truck the day of. Fortunately the staff at S Virginia was very helpful, but I would never recommend Oddie Blvd to anyone ever.

The customer service is horrendous. I rented once before from this location and worked with other agents and they were equally low-performing. Clearly management doesn't train for customer service. Rude, terse, can't look you in the eye, unfriendly. I have never had conflicts, but both times I've been in staff are yelling at customers and treating them poorly. I hate renting from this location and have only done it when they are the only ones with trucks available.

All vehicles rented should have a full tank of gas. It’s a scam to leave the tank at 1/4 full and then expect the customer to fill it up with the same amount. You’re essentially trying to make money on gas since the customer has to fill it with more than what they started with. Also, the van smelled like cigarettes which is why I said it wasn’t clean.

After the experience we had yesterday, NO Way! They gave us a dirty van, Dog Hair all over the seats. The gas was not top off. Also we came back to pick up our vehicle the next day, And we had a dead battery, We ask if they could jump start the vehicle, And they told us NO. That they could not do that! We know you have jumper cables. Where has good humanity gone? My father that worked for U-Haul, For many years, Was blown away by this action! All your employees, told me was to call AAA. So My Husband & I stood outside in the heat until they came. So we decided to go with another U-Haul.

I rented a 26 foot van. The van ran excellent. The ramp did not function it came out of its track and caused my move an additional day delay. U-Haul took very good care of me. They issued a full refund which I did not expect. I am sure they were unaware of the problem with this ramp. I have used them many times and this was the only trouble I experienced.

I originally reserved a 17 for uhaul on the oddie silverada store so I wasn’t pleased that I received a text two days before I was moving that I had to pick up a truck on south Virginia. I reserved a 17 foot truck the Virginia store only had a 15 foot truck. I will say the young man who helped me did a really good job as he had a line out the door of unhappy customers due to pick up location change and not having what people reserved at the store. I regret not getting his name as I think he had excellent customer service skills

I brought the truck back with a full tank it even was over the full line. A couple days later I see I had an $11 charge on my card on top of what I had already paid they were claiming that I brought the truck back with a quarter tank of gas missing. Next time I will definitely take pictures of the fuel line and that's even if I go through uhaul again.

The trailer I received was ancient, and one of the running lights in the rear was pushed into the frame. As a result, the running lights did not work. This was not tremendously significant because I was only moving during the daytime, but since it was the only trailer of that size available, I had to use it.

I was late picking up my reservation, but I wasn't notified that it was given away until I checked in. The automated message saying my reservation might be canceled was delivered when the attendant registered another vehicle for me. The truck I ended up taking had less than a half a tank of gas, I didn't notice until I was already in the truck driving away.

We reserved the truck using the app. When we showed up at her pick up time at 7 AM we use the app to check out the truck. It took us 30 minutes to complete the check out because that app would not work properly. We had to take a picture of our drivers license many times before it would actually work. The app seems buggy and doesn’t seem to respond when you upload photos. It shouldn’t take 30 minutes to check out a truck please improve your app

The initial call was off-putting. I asked if an appliance dolly was available, how much it cost and how the rental worked (was it by the day or hour, etc.). Before answering any of my questions or providing any information I was asked for my name, address, phone number and email. She even asked for my credit card information to hold a reservation before giving me any information. I stopped her before the email since she hadn't even told me if one was available. Even then I never got the rate until after I had completed the registration part, something about not being able to pull up that screen. When I call a business and request information, I'm still deciding whether or not use them. I want that information before having to register. The rest of the process was fine, but the initial contact was very uncomfortable.

Terrible experience. The reservation coordinator changed my pickup time from 7am to 10am, with 15 minutes notice. She nearly cancelled my reservation altogether because I didn’t respond to a mysterious email that was never sent to me. It took me two and a half hours to get a trailer that I had reserved the week prior. Please check the records. There was another customer who was at this location at the same time. They did the same thing to him. There is a real problem there. I’m very upset about this horrible service. That woman will hopefully not continue to be employed by your company.

Rented a trailer at Oddie Location. NO one Called or Text me my location was changed to Virginia Street. Oddie location hooked me up with another one that would have worked. Went to Check out and they said I couldn't have that one. So had to unhook it and go to Virginia Street location. Was in a hurry. Expect a Text or Phone Call when locations change. As it was I missed my appointment... Then Virginia Street had massive problems with your computer system getting it to bill me correctly. Still have to check that out on Monday..

Two locations overbooked me even though I had a reservation. Car transport was covered it mud making the tire tie downs hard to use. I had used U-Haul for the lady few years and quality has gone down exponentially. Very disappointed.

Leadership, the whole crew had something going on. Poor management, poor customer service. If I didn’t need the trailer I would have left the store. Very poor experience and I believe it’s poor leadership from the top.

I reserved a tow dolly at location when I got there and they were hooking up the tow dolly to my truck the lights were not working on the dolly. They had 2 more at the location but since they were new they would not let me have one because I was using it as a one way. They sent me to another location because they said they had one I could use. When I got to said location they were confused as to why I was there because they didn't have any tow dollys. I ended up getting upset and they gave me a trailer instead. Now returning the trailer to another location on a Monday. The location was locked up and so I called the number listed and no one answered. So I just left the trailer outside of the gate with a message on the answering machine. This company is very inadequate.

I am VERY unhappy about wasting an hour trying FOUR different car carriers before finally having one which was both operational and could be rented by your computer program. As a result of time lost, I had to load the car in heavy rain, had to offload in the dark, and this highly disappointed the friend who was counting on me to rescue her and take care of her car. The delay cost us the pleasant dinner date that we had planned. The first one wouldn't move. The second one had been turned in, but your computer system wouldn't process it to rent. The third one had no functional lights.

A little lacking in management, staff not sure how to use handhelds. The truck I rented had all the wrong info, tag number matched but gas, miles and condition of truck all incorrect. Printer was not working so I did not receive starting paperwork, lady wrote down the info from computer, on a fold out, but when went out and nothing matched she crossed out and wrote correct info down. And it did say 24 hours on there. I was told .69 cents per mile but was charged .89. told them I was going ~ 200 miles. when I returned truck they tried telling me I went over in miles but I only went 189. They tried to tell me I was late I rented for 24 hours. 430pm pick up, 315 drop off next day....even though it took 40 minutes to get them to complete the check-in. They did email me a receipt. Over all it was not that anyone thing was so horrible that it would stop me from using U-Haul but that unit could really use some leadership, training and better customer service...which will come once trained and they had confidence in knowing their job.

The cargo box was not cleaned out prior to my picking it up. The truck was Not in proper working condition. The Fuel return line and tank fitting were not installed and where found hanging under the truck dribbling fuel all over the ground. I was told "Thats not unusal,someone siphoned gas out" If That isnt unusual, then it should be part of the Pre Rental check list!!! I was Extremely frustrated with the lack of professionalism and Organisation. They didnt have any blankets in stock when I asked where my blankets were! So some of my furniture now has abrasions on them. Thanks Reno Uhaul!

Folks were friendly and quick about getting me the unit. It was just a bit dirty and more noisy than usual (I've driven multiple U-Hauls including the 26' a few times). Engine was fine though.

My experience was awful honestly. I was promised a truck at 7:30 am and got a text after hours telling me neither would happen. I was then sent to the wrong location across town sending me on a goose chase. I ended up with two tiny trucks at a later time in the day which had me moving until nearly 1:00am. The girl at the desk at the location was absolutely clueless when renting to me and it took over an hour at the store to get the trucks. When I got the trucks home one was ok minus the snow covering it but the other truck had an old ice cream tub and a spilled Starbucks in the back. They worked on the price some and I’m thankful for that but after the 20 some gallons of fuel it took for my short trip because 2 trucks vs 1 it wasn’t much of a bargain. Thank god I just happened to have 2 drivers or Uhaul would have haulted everything I had planned.

Location looks like a bad used car lot. Truck was delivered with a 2" layer of snow on front windshield that I had to scrape off. Employees act like they are doing you a favor by talking to you during drop off.

The facility was well-maintained, and the staff were knowledgeable and helpful. I rented a van during a time when there was snow and ice on the roads. The tires were not sufficient. Three times I got stuck in a very small amount of snow and had to have passengers push the van. All times were when I was on a very slight incline. This concerns needs to be addressed for safety and customer experience.

I will never use or recommend UHAUL again. One single reason. John Hernandez. The boxes arrived at UHAUL 5/4. No attempt was made to contact me until 5/17. I had to call UHAUL. There more but no room.
