called up to rent a storage unit for a 5' wide habitat that I got from work as well as a 1500 sq foot home and we went through 3 units (Not one time did they check the doors for proper access for me) assured me that each one that the habitat that I got would " FIT JUST FINE" so I unloaded the stupid thing trusting them at their word that it would fit ... it did not I was less than impressed, and due to the problems with the rental unit I had to leave the Habitat in the back of one of the rental box trucks (of which I was assured that I would only be charged one day because of all the hassles) I got charged for the full time (not just one day) and they never bothered to cancel my storage unit that I obviously would NOT be using since I couldn't get anything through the doors ... NOT HAPPY with this location at all ... will not now and will never rent from this location again.Kellie V. | Expérience générale

I used the mobile because I needed to return the truck after hours. If the truck is stated as not clean when its rented, it should be cleaned before the next rental. When I said the truck wasn't clean when I checked it in (because I got it not cleaned), the app tried to charge me a cleaning fee. I had to change it when the renter had spilled soda all over the floor.Jane M.
I love the 24 hour access & climate control for my electronics and paintings I typically work all day so everything else is usually after 10pm I love all the cameras they make me feel like my stuff is safe.... I was given a truck that had an issue with a front headlights/hazard light. I took a picture of it before leaving luckily. The light came loose as I driving on a busy freeway in the rain. The light came out out its socket and was dangling hitting the font bumper. It was dangerous for me to fix this on the side of the freeway. I pushed the light back into its socket. Then when returning the truck, I was told they knew about the issue butt never disclosed this to me. Also the truck was never even pulled out of its parking spot and was located in an area that was tricky tio get out of. I ended up going down the wrong way in order to pull out safely out of the puzzling lot. The staff was polite and courteous, but I should not have been given that truck. Hopefully They don't give it to someone else before fixing that light.FABRICE T.

I called the Hazel Dell office to reserve the 5x9 trailer with the ramp to move a refrigerator. The woman said they would not have one until Wednesday and she was not able to check the other in-town locations. I called the Fourth Plain store and talked to Miles. He found one of the trailers at the Andreesen store, proving that a person can check the other stores. It made me think the first representative at the Hazel Dell store needed training. Then Miles asked what I was moving. I told him a refrigerator. He suggested I use a motorcycle moving trailer and reserved one for me at the Hazel Dell store. It worked perfectly for the move. I want to commend Miles for his customer centric approach and for asking questions. He is much more of a sales person than the simple order taker employed at the Hazel Dell office. The individual locations are fine but anytime I needed to update or get a hold of the corporate U-Box support, it would take at least 30 minutes. I did not get an update on how long my good would take to ship until a week after they had already been picked up and the date was moved back multiple times. I also had issues on the phone of people not being able to make updates or knowing what to do for my account. This meant I had to be transferred to someone who could help so I would have to wait another 30+ minutes. For the cost and lead time for my goods to be shipped plus the absolute hassle and inconvenience of getting a hold of anyone about my shipment I would not recommend U-Haul to anyone. This was a poor experience overall compared to other moving services I have used in the past to get across country.Joe S.

This was not my best U-Haul experience. First of all I had to go down a size in trailers because the trailer I wanted was not available for the entire weekend. That isn't really uhauls fault just poor planning on my end but the rest was very underwhelming. When I got to the Hazel Dell location to pick up my 5 x 8 trailer they couldn't find the one that was assigned to me so they gave me one that was just returned. This trailer was rather beat up but seemed functional. After the associate hooked up the trailer it was determined there were no working turn signals on it. He tried replacing a couple cables but that did not change anything and then the manager came out and said well because this is a local rental why don't you just take it and be extra careful. Because of this and the fact they were really busy at that location I never received my utility cart. I called and let the location know that I never got the utility cart and they said it would be credited to my account. Upon return all of the point of sale system was down for U-Haul I was told and I would have to wait for my credit or to figure out how much I was to be credited for that. All in all I was disappointed in my experience this time around.BENJAMIN S.
Despite doing advanced confirmation it still took 14 minutes of check in and credit card entering at counter that required my card 3 times and a call through phone tree and wait because the systems had been down all weekend and lost my data. Multiple smaller scratches, dents, scuffs,and dings had to be disputed before leaving the lot and the truck smelled like someone with bad hygiene had been chain smoking in it for a few days before I rented it. The employees were all very pleasant and professional, the whole check in/out process wasn't too bad but it was a very unpleasant experience having to drive 50 miles on the highway with the windows down to not have to endure the smell. They attempt ed to deodorize it but it didn't do anything. I had to take my clothes off and immediately throw them in the washing machine when I finally got home.NICHOLAS M.

They were well-trained, good at communicating, helpful, and friendly. I experienced frustration when there weren't enough drivers available to pick up my empty boxes on the scheduled date, but this absence of reserve drivers (when regular hires are too few) to handle customer volume and delivery, is the responsibility of U-Haul itself.Jane K.

I have had great experiences with U-Haul. My only disappointment on this occasion was that the closed trailer I reserved was not available. This would have derailed my entire plans for the day had it not been sunny. I was offered an open trailer which worked. I would have expected to be upgraded to a larger available enclosed trailer if it had been raining making the open trailer unworkable.Gregory S.

I called in the request at 0800 am so I could hit the road running later upon pickup. 9 and half hours later, the rental was still not ready and delayed my pickup. The trailer was full of trash and bird poop. Then I had the pleasure to do their jobs by checking and notifying of damages not listed. Why is this my job? Are you going to pay me for my time. The U-Haul system is complete garbage and made a change for the worse. Furthermore, even this response is futile because nobody will read this nor respond. The two girls that helped me were very sweet and willing to help even though their system failed them and myself.JEREMY N.

This is the worst uhaul facility I have ever experienced. Phones are rarely answered, you get the worst service from this place. Employees are rude. I rented a 19,95 $ truck, for a day only to find out it was for only 12 hours and the employee who rented it to me failed to tell me it had to be back by 8am the next morning and when I turned in the truck after I filled the gas tank which was not full to begin with, but the vehicle is parked on a slant so it appears the tank is full when it is not. My access was to be until 10 pm. I had moved quite a ways away and was trying to move out. I came in on a Sunday right at office closing (5pm) and my card wouldn't let me get in. I went to the office and the girl was rude saying they're closed and brushed me off. I said I have access until 10pm, even says so on my app. She just repeated "we're closed" I went BSCK to the storage facility as 2 employees were walking away, I asked for assistance and they flat out ignored me. Turned around and looked, then kept walking away. Luckily another guy came. He spoke with me a moment, looked at my app to see the time I had access, and fixed it from his phone. We've used this location in the past for truck rentals and then our storage unit but times made it to where funds needed to saved and so we have had to squeeze stuff here at home but in the future I know where to go if we need storage again. The staff were professional and polite. However, I was not aware that you required extra phone numbers etc for the registration. As I had left my phone in the car and it was pouring rain I did not want to go retrieve it. I had no choice. It would be extremely nice if a FULL accounting of required information was listed in order to avoid confusion. Also, the 10x10 unit assigned to me already had a lock on it. The very first day in their parking lot I got a flat tire because there was a CRACK PIPE and it popped my tire-on hand manager was not helpful AT ALL. I asked her to input automatic payments so I didn't have to think about the bill-she did not and I got a 20 $late fee I didn't even know about. I went in around Early December and my container was locked and I couldn't access the building-had to walk to the office three different times and the boy there was not helpful-rude and when he finally went to unlock my storage after I had to walk back a fourth time he then apologized to my male friend who was there to help me unload AND NOT TO ME who's name is on the storage, I used my card to pay and HE SPOKE TO THE MALE FRIEND LIKE HE RENTED THE LOCKER. Apologized to HIM for wasting HIS time-and not to I who had to walk back and fourth and deal with this bulls$!t. 0/10 I didn't have a pleasant experience any time I went to this facility. I chose this site due to its closeness to the freeway (when I moved to Vancouver). The service I received greatly depended on who I talked to (either on the phone or in person). I had used U-Haul Storage before in another city and had great experiences there, so I thought that it would be similar here, but I was mistaken. I realize that the staff were more than likely overwhelmed with a lot of customers, but a little bit of niceness would have helped a lot. I was not able to move in the day that I wanted to move in because my card did not work and then the next day I went to move in and they said they were closed at 8:00 and the gate closes at 10:00 and they said no that was wrong so I did not get to move in the second day the third day I did get to move in but I was told I owed them money and I was supposed to get a free month I don't know what happened I decided at that point I'm moving everything out because one it was on the second floor split level had to walk upstairs I am disabled cannot walk upstairs so I said forget it and moved out I am trying to get my money back for my month of insurance but I cannot figure out who to contact on that so I will be going to U-Haul tomorrow and asking them who to talk to.. just make sure you're not in a hurry because if you are it won't matter they are very short staffed and nobody knows what's going on in the buildings good luck.Kim T. | Online Move In
I never would have thought I'd be crying out of frustration at a U-Haul until yesterday. I spent 3 hours here moving a 5x8 trailer load into a storage unit. This location is severely understaffed, most employees are not trained in all departments, and the technology is slow. I arrived and rented a 5x5' unit, which went smoothly for the most part. When we got most of our stuff down to the unit, we realized it was going to be too small. I went back to the office to upgrade to a larger size, had to wait about 45 min for a staff member who was knowledgable enough to help me. The "only employee who knows storage" (their words) was outside filling propane tanks and a line of other customers were assisted inside while I waited for her. Finally, another employee came and helped upgrade us into another unit. Great, ran back to the storage facility to help my partner move our stuff down the hall to that new unit. Only problem, the new unit was actually already taken by someone else. I went to the intercom system and asked why they sent me to an already occupied unit. Someone said they'd be down "in a minute" to help. Twenty minutes goes by, haven't seen anyone. I call back again and asked if they had meant this other unit that had the same numbers, just in a different order. They said yes and they'd be down "in a minute" to get me a new key. A man came and brought me my third key of the day and told me "if you need help, just use the intercom, since you know how to use it now". Except this time, the key didn't work. I hadn't waited for the other two keys to activate but now this key needed "5 to 10 minutes" to activate. At this point, 2 hours into being at U-Haul, you'd think a manager could override the system, just let me inside and get me to the correct unit? I've been waiting around all day, every time I asked for help someone was going to be "right there" or "in a minute". It was never that quick. My experience here was surprisingly poor. Some of the employees are nice but it doesn't make up for lack of training and staff. I believe that the employees mean well, but they do not have a great understanding of how to prioritize customers, or are too busy, I'm not sure. My issue could have been resolved in 5 minutes if the sole employee with storage knowledge came inside and helped me. I understand there were people waiting to get propane tanks filled, but my issue could have been resolved quickly with her help. Getting through a whole line of new customers, while I was waiting inside for help, does not make sense to me. I would prioritize fixing the issue with the customer that was here first. I would not be leaving this review if things had gone that way. No hard feelings, I think it's a difficult time for everyone, I am just disappointed in my experience here. I got a storage unit because I was evacuating for the fire. When I got to your facility I was told I could not start storing thing because they were closing soon and the card reader wasn't registering new cards. I did get a free night and mileage on the Uhaul truck, but I had to drive 45 minutes towards the house that I was evacuating and I had to worry about all of my belongings and a Uhual truck. My move in was not a good experience. The staff was amazing and helpful but my key card did not work and the system was not communicating so there was not any way to fix it. This card issue created major difficulty because we had hired movers to help us. They were paid by the hour and had to wait for other movers at the facility to let us in. Luckily someone else was moving in so they would help us by using their key card. The staff said it would work in about 15 minutes, but it didn't. I used the intercom at 15 minutes and they said to give it more time. At 30 minutes I tried to call them again and it was not answered. Finally, after an hour I tried again and they answered and although my key card still didn't work they were able to set the doors so that they would open when we walked up to it. The facility seemed secure. However, other renters would leave their belongings in walkways and loading areas forcing us to ask them to make a path or move their stuff. The staff should monitor loading areas to ensure everyone is safe and room for all to load and unload. The staff at this Uhaul are nice in person, but do not follow up on verbal commitments. 1. We were verbally told one price, but charged 30 $more for our unit. The manager, Matt, did nothing except offer to let us move out. 2. Upon closing one unit, the employee committed to emailing us a receipt and closing document. It didn't happen and we were charged for the next month. Another complaint is when a couple rents multiple units, an access card should be given to each. We were told this is not possible with your system.
